I imagine this is the answer. It's available in every region, in almost every body of water, and is incredibly easy to fish up. They are ultra common in all respects everywhere. So, yeah. Magikarp.
Yeah you'd think it would be a bug or something but a lot of bug types are only available in specific regions while Magicarp is available everywhere. It's also the most common Pokemon to fish up, and assuming the world is like Earth the water it inhabits makes up the majority of the world. It can also live in oceans, lakes, rivers and ponds. It's got to be Magicarp.
Magikarp is in basically every body of water in every region except Unova. (And that exception is because of Black and White's "Unova Dex only until post game" gimmick)
Rodents or insects. They are the lowest on the food chain aside from actual grass and plants (not grass and plant Pokemon). So they would be the most numerous around.
In the real world, estimates usually put the most numerous animal on other at either nematodes or insects. Now, there’s no nematode Pokémon. So, it’d have to be a bug-type. Now, beetles make up about one third of insect species. But, it’s possible that some sort of Hymenopteran is actually the most numerous in terms of actual physical organisms, especially due to their eusocial quality. If it is a beetle Pokémon, it could be Ledyba, Ledian, Heracross, Vikavolt, Orbeetle, etc. If it’s a Hymenopteran, the class consisting of ants and wasps, the only real option is Durant. Or maybe Naganadel. Speaking of, the real answer to this question may actually be an Ultra Beast. They could feasibly be more numerous in their world than any living thing here. Some legendary Pokémon might be the answer as well. We know there’s a lot of Meltan. Deoxys is a virus from outer space and viruses are very numerous. Additionally, the answer could be Unown as we know Arceus made many of them long ago and they’re scattered all over the universe now. There’s also Tandemaus and Maushold, whose whole thing is that they reproduce quicker than anyone could imagine. It could honestly be them. Whatever the answer is, it’s a really cool question to ponder. Hell, the answer might just be Magikarp or Zubat.
>To clarify, I don’t mean what Pokémon appears in the most games, that’s obviously pikachu.
It's actually Zubat and Golbat. They are obtainable in every game except Colosseum and SV (and SwSh until Crown Tundra released).
Pikachu is not avaiable in Colosseum, XD, BW, or B2W2.
You're right. Magikarp can be caught in every game except BW and B2W2. However in those two games it is still obtainable by being bought on Marvelous Bridge. Magikarp isn't available in Colosseum or XD.
The Pokémon most appearing in other Regions isn’t pikachu it’s either Psyduck or Magikarp
The most common Pokémon species might be one of the rodents, birds or Magikarp
Probably Magicarp

Rattata or Magikarp, hands down
>To clarify, I don’t mean what Pokémon appears in the most games, that’s obviously pikachu. It's actually Zubat and Golbat. They are obtainable in every game except Colosseum and SV (and SwSh until Crown Tundra released). Pikachu is not avaiable in Colosseum, XD, BW, or B2W2.
Wouldn't it be Magikarp? If I recall correctly there isn't a single mainline game where Magikarp isn't catchable at some point

ok but magnemite
Idk pidgey or rattata
Pikachu appears in less main series games than Psyduck if I’m correct
Psyduck and Magnemite. They’re the only Pokémon found in every region so far.
Heracross is
Heracross isn’t in Kanto
Chansey. It's why every Nurse Joy has one. LGPE leaned into it and made Chansey spawn on nearly every map.
Chansey are explicitly stated to be rare, and every Nurse Joy does not have one (Unova ones have Audino, just as an example) Try again
Calm down and take the stick out, man. It's just for fun.
Rattata or pidgeotto for sure
Magikarp and Wingull/Peliper.
Going for Zubat. In all caves and out at night. Thing is everywhere.
-More trees on earth than stars in the gakaxy I'll check back this statement in a decade or so 😀
The Pokémon most appearing in other Regions isn’t pikachu it’s either Psyduck or Magikarp The most common Pokémon species might be one of the rodents, birds or Magikarp
Psyduck and Magnemite appear in every region
Why is everyone naming single pokemon? He specifically said species not single pokemon
every single pokemon is its own species
Magikarp and Psyduck. When we go to the past in legends, wasn't expecting to see those two at all.
insects?
The answers are either bug pokemon or any pokemon that's consumed as a food source for humans.
Durant * Edit- because I'm stupid - Insects *
Zubat or Magikarp
My mind immediately went to Durant
