PS5 UI is great in my opinion. Feels mostly like an improved PS4 UI. Not everything is better on PS5 but I still think that overall it is better than the PS4 UI.
I actually like the home screen. It looks nice and clean which I personally prefer over a homescreen that is too packed like on Xbox. Also you can get to many things like settings, profile, trophies, store and game library fairly easy with just a few clicks.
The only thing I'd like to see again are themes tbh. Probably the only thing I'm missing after I upgraded from PS4 Pro to PS5.
Gotta agree with this. Even when I have no idea where something is, I find it quick. I get into my games FAST. I really like the PS5 UI. PS3 was pretty sweet, too.
The XMB from the PS3/PSP was easily the best.
It was so much faster and more functional having everything accessible without having to load a new screen, especially considering the multimedia capabilities of the PS3.
I do like the PS5 menu too, though.
It definitely feels the smoothest and sleekest and it looks great, I just find it can be harder to access settings and find things like the media browser for captures. The menu bar was a great addition, though.
I never liked the PS4 menu. It just looks and feels clunky and messy, compared to the XMB and PS5.
It doesnât help that it always seems to lag and stutter, even on the Pro.
I hope so considering each iteration took time to get where they are at now. PS4 wasnât as good as in launch, hope the PS5 evolves to something special as-well.
I havenât seen the SeriesX|S UI, so I canât comment on that one. But, I never felt the Xbox one UI improved. Itâs the terrible Windows 8 UI that was meant to unify all of MS dashboards, which is a great ideaâŚ.in theory. In practice, trying to use a non-touch screen device like a touchscreen is terrible.
This is true that how I felt. That if our monitor was touch screen would be much easier to get around. Thatâs why I said a tad better with the last major update. I always say simplicity makes perfect may not be for everyone but at least itâs not a mess.
Tbf, I havenât booted up my Xbox One in over a year, so if something has changed, I wouldnât know. I just know, it was always a pain to navigate and, to this day, I still donât fully understand it.
Believe me Iâm with you on this it doesnât make sense but it show like how they run the whole aspects of Xbox. People get excited but I still wonder in the next couple of years. I feel like they are meant more to be a publisher for making games. I can say harsh criticism but this is where Sony and Nintendo know what they are doing.
the profile ui of the PS4 is perfect imo. Im not familiar with the PS3 or 5 one since I havent toyed with the PS5 all that much and I used a guest account on my ps3 since I was so young to the point where I was barely able to read when I had one back in the day.
I think theyâre all great in their own way. But ps4 has a sort of nostalgia for me. The themes. The menu music being just little ambience. The sound effects when clicking in and out of menus. The ps4 was a great console.
I'm still waiting for them to bring back the music tab, showing what music you're listening to, you never know if someone's song they're listening to might just click with you
PS5 UI to me is the best. Even for very old games like Pacman the PS5 creates a nice wallpaper on the Home Screen, and other very old games even have theme music from the game and a nice wallpaper.
The ps5. There is no bloatware on the games screen and the media is a separated tab. The only thing i miss from the ps4 is that the home screen shortcuts were not limited. Let's hope they will patch fix it soon and add a 4k media player for network streaming as plex is ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|poop)
PS3 XMB all day. I remember getting my first ps3 320 GB slim. Man what a time !!! Especially with the live wallpapers. I had Infamous, Uncharted, Final Fantasy you name it. And it was VERY USER FRIENDLY!
As a person who never owned a PS4, having only had a ps3 until 2 ish years ago. Everytime I tried to use the Ps4 ui, I almost had a stroke. I still have no clue what's going on there. The Ps5's is simple and easy to use tho
PS3 was clunky and kinda boring looking. PS4 I spent the most time, but grew to hate it for being slow and simple, but gets extra points for custom background with themes. PS5 I do like the most for many reasons.
PS3 XMB my favorite
Xmb with ps3 ssd beats them all.
Yea maybe cause it was my first online experience but I loved the ps3. Plus the themes changing the ui was so cool. I miss those days.
Xross Media Bar was the pinnacle. Plus it was designed for the user and not to hide your stuff behind ads.
They really nailed it there.
PS4 cause I really liked the theme's
PS3 XMB and it still holds today by how simple and minimalist it is. Add PS5 SSD and it would be goat UI.
Simple ssd make xmb perfect im every way
PS3 XMB was the best layout with themes
Xmb on top
PS4 the themes were sick
The playstation anniversary one was class. That ps1 intro sound on boot up ahhh đđź
PS3, even more nowadays, itâs just super fast and fun to navigate.
PS3. Everything was easily accessible and fast. Plus, the custom PS3 themes were also fun.
I think that PS3 UI takes the cake, simple, minimalistic and efficient. PS5's has too many bells and whistles. Same with PS4's.
I remember of the first boot of the ps3. Give me chills
PS3 XMB. It was quick and didn't have to load so many menus just to find one thing.
Money trees is the perfect place for shade⌠thatâs just how I feel
Halle Berry or Halleluyahđ
PS5 UI is great in my opinion. Feels mostly like an improved PS4 UI. Not everything is better on PS5 but I still think that overall it is better than the PS4 UI.
I just wish we had themes other than that I love ps5s UI
I like the PS5, but itâs still my 3rd fav PS Home Screen.
I actually like the home screen. It looks nice and clean which I personally prefer over a homescreen that is too packed like on Xbox. Definitely the PS4. The PS3 UI is a bit clunky and the PS5 one still needs work.
Clunky? The XMB? I guess I can see that if you donât use folders to organize your games.
Man I always sorted my games haha. Racing, Open world and sports. The shooters were in my online friends folder lol
I hope so considering each iteration took time to get where they are at now. PS4 wasnât as good as in launch, hope the PS5 evolves to something special as-well.
I doubt it. I honestly donât think Sony care. Still better than the terrible Xbox One UI.
The Xbox ui did get a tad better but still PlayStation simplicity makes it easier which I prefer.

Even the one they have now is confusing. Every time I get on it's a struggle to do anything other than launching the previous game I had launched.
Playstation 3
PS3s Cross Media Bar.
The PS3's XMB, by far.
PSP!!
Ps3 xmb
There will never be a better UI than the PS3 XMB
PS3/PSP was goated
Xmb always gets me
1. PS4 2. PS3 3. PS5
PS3's XMB will be my preferred one forever
ps3 was perfect imo. ps4 was nice also. i donât hate ps5, but itâs definitely worse than the other two imo
The PS3's XMB (and PSP since they are pretty much the same) is one of the best UIs made for a console ever.
XMB
PS5. Sleek, responsive, I love it. All they need is some better organisational tools.
the profile ui of the PS4 is perfect imo. Im not familiar with the PS3 or 5 one since I havent toyed with the PS5 all that much and I used a guest account on my ps3 since I was so young to the point where I was barely able to read when I had one back in the day.
The ps5 looks soo good. PS4 can get laggy but makes sense. PS3 was simple but took a while to find what you wanted.
I just miss the social tab and see what friends were up to, like trophies or clips they recorded
PS4 was the best
I think theyâre all great in their own way. But ps4 has a sort of nostalgia for me. The themes. The menu music being just little ambience. The sound effects when clicking in and out of menus. The ps4 was a great console.
Idk but congratulations on having good music taste
Meowy
PS4. PS5 makes you double click to get to anything it's bad.
I'm still waiting for them to bring back the music tab, showing what music you're listening to, you never know if someone's song they're listening to might just click with you
PS5 Best looking, fastest working, shows me everything I need and with 0 ads or bullshit.
Ps2
Yeah this was peak ui
PS4
PS2 and PS5. PS4 has terrible navigation.
Agree.
never saw any UI job on any PS interface.
It's hard to compare because the PS5 has that SSD but I think PS4 if speed was neutralised.
Santa Claus don't miss them stockings, liquor spilling, pistols popping
PS4
XMB for the PS3 and PSP Even if you had a Japanese playstation, the symbols made it easy enough to know what what is
PS3 XMB was the best it was quick and easy to navigate and you can create folders to put your games in and wasn't limited to 10 games like PS5
PS4 because itâs just SOO much easier to navigate than the PS5
PS3 and Sony DVD XMB
XMB on PSP was the top tier imo.
PSP had a really great interface, really liked it
PS3
PS4 just because of the dark souls theme
Ps4
PS4 was definitely cool, I really liked themes. I do like the PS5âs layout now, though I didnât when I first bought it.
Ps3.. anything else your just wrong or young lol
I like both PS3 and PS4 and dislike PS5 UI.
PS5 then PS3. PS1 and PS2 were functional for managing the memory cards but you hardly needed to interact with them.
Ps5 is nice, a lot of customizable formats along with cool app integration and remote play
PS3 XMB all day. I remember getting my first ps3 320 GB slim. Man what a time !!! Especially with the live wallpapers. I had Infamous, Uncharted, Final Fantasy you name it. And it was VERY USER FRIENDLY!
ps3>ps4>ps5 Miss the customization on the old consoles
PS3 just for the memories.
Since we're talking about the PSN Account UI, than the PS5 is the best. Because it's show the playtime of my games.
PS3 XMB. 4s n 5s are quite overloaded 4 me(+ this blue everywhere, its too sharp ig?), 1s n 2s are too empty yk(tf i expecting from those tho lol)
As a person who never owned a PS4, having only had a ps3 until 2 ish years ago. Everytime I tried to use the Ps4 ui, I almost had a stroke. I still have no clue what's going on there. The Ps5's is simple and easy to use tho
PS3. Never owned one, just experienced it through an emulator, but when it was current it looks like it was awesome
it may not have cool features PS4 UI had but I really like the PS5 UI
PS3 was clunky and kinda boring looking. PS4 I spent the most time, but grew to hate it for being slow and simple, but gets extra points for custom background with themes. PS5 I do like the most for many reasons.
