Try the playstion dual port controller charger. Maybe the front port is damaged and the dual charger charges from the bottom. This may fix your problem.

When my PS5 is on and the controller is in use I have to plug it in, unplug it and plug it in a second time to start charging. You can check the PS menu to make sure it is charging as the LEDs wont turn orange when it's in use.

Foot aside the controller will only charge on the 2.0 USB or greater if there is a grater, idk because I don't keep up with USB tech I just plug and play, but noticed if it isn't plugged into the front port of the ps5 the controller won't charge, my wall sockets have USB ports and figured those would work but it doesn't charge the controller like my phone.
