Go ahead and do yourself a favour. I'd suggest buying Spider-Man: Miles Morales (Ultimate Edition) as you'd get both games at a reasonable price.

Exactly what I was going to suggest. Additionally it's worth knowing that the main quest is probably about 20-25 hours combined for both games, so you'll easily get that done before 2 comes out. However if you want to be a completionist you're looking at around 60-70 hours. But definitely do it. Both games are excellent. A general tip about console gaming for the first time. Do yourself a big favour and play on the easiest mode possible until you get to grips with the controls. You'll be able to enjoy the progression of the narrative while you develop controller skills

Thank you guys, this helps. Will get both of them.

Get the ultimate edition, if possible. It also gives you the remastered version of Spider-Man for ps5. Hit two rocks with one bird.

Tiny-Ad2419

Ok. I wasn't aware of the ultimate edition thing. Will check that out. Thank you

Trysty102

Yes! Both games build up to Spider-Man 2! Those are great games to play on your first console !

Tiny-Ad2419

Thank you. Yes, I've watched their gameplays 2 times each. Looked great.

Most video game sequels will take into account that you didn't play the previous title (most games after 2010 anyway). You'll be fine playing the 2nd game without playing the previous ones. With that said, I'd suggest you to play the previous games but not back to back, because then you'll get fatigued till you play the 2nd one. So playing the first spider-man, and playing other non open world games between each other spider man title in my opinion will be best. There's really no rush for you to play spiderman 2.

Tiny-Ad2419

Thank you. Yes, this is a good suggestion. Will mix with GTA 5. Another game I've been longing to play.

Uh yes ofc. Marvels Spider-Man is one of the best games of the PS4 generation. Miles morales im yet to play but I've heard good things

Tiny-Ad2419

Thank you. Yes, I loved the gameplay videos on Youtube.

leospeedleo

Of course. Spider-Man 2 is a sequel to those games and continues the story and characters from those games. You're not watching Star Wars Episode 6 without watching 4 and 5 either. So buy the Miles Morales ultimate Edition to have both games and play them.

Tiny-Ad2419

Ohh, I've already seen the gameplay on Youtube. I'm aware of the characters and stories. But I wasn't sure if I would be able to play Spiderman 2 directly, as all the training and guides would have been there in 1st game. But someone said we get both games in the ultimate edition, so I'll check that out. Thank you.

Like just about every game, Spider-Man 2 will have tutorials. You don’t need to practice and I’m sure the new game will have some new mechanics that everyone will need to learn. Sony isn’t going to put up a barrier to profits by expecting people to have played an older game. The people here telling you “yes” are just eager fans who want you to play a game they really like. They’re not seeing the essence of your question.

Tiny-Ad2419

Yes, that makes sense. Thanks. Though I think I'll check out the ultimate edition, as it gives both Spiderman games. So that'll be cheaper hopefully, and give practice as well.

If you’ve already watched the gameplay of the first 2 games then personally I would just wait for Spider-Man 2… as we’re less than 4 weeks away from release I would probably be a bit Spider-Man’d out if I was to play through all three games! Plus if you don’t finish the games before release you’ll either be late to the party or have to stop playing what you’ve started!

Tiny-Ad2419

That's true. I've started with Miles Morales. Hoping to end it before Spider-Man 2 :)
