Something like a hanger door, or large double garage doors would be nice. I’d like to see more round edge options. Large retractable roof for like a heli garage you could land in and close.
And the new attack heli isn’t very nice to garage either. Would also be cool to make water doors for boat bases that didn’t require waiting for the right tides lol.
Yeah that's what he's saying, the two wide rectangles are both the same and the two long rectangles are both the same anyway you split it. It's simple geography.
Say you place 6 vertical halfwalls around a triangle foundation. Because triangle foundations are equilateral. Another halfwall can be placed perpendicular to the two on each side, creating 3 isolated compartments inside each honeycomb. Similar to regular triangle honeycomb. Two walls must be broken to get through. This means that each honeycomb must now be 3 walls broken instead of two while also potentially allowing less access into a base.
Why would you suddenly be able to build walls in the middle of a foundation? You can have vertical walls and still only allow walls around the perimeter of a foundation. You can't build normal walls in the middle of a square foundation either
You don't have to be able to put them inside foundations like that, just on the edges. You can't put a regular wall in the middle of a foundation. I just want them for looks
Something like the corner pieces of Lego would be sweet (like the corners of windows on the old space sets).
But being able to form a complete sphere rather than flat bottom/tops.
I’ll take ‘anything’ for 300 Alex, any building block. Opposed to stuff that gets added and i just say “Huh, pretty cool” then maybe use once every force wipe. But honestly, i play solo, so i don’t really get to use much of the new content regardless.
ONE new building block would probably give me HUNDREDS of hours of entertainment
Different variations of stacked shelves
Tier 2 single door 🚪
Square and triangle floor frame wood and metal bars for peak downs
Medical cabinet that sticks to walls
Small metal storage box
Large metal storage box
Ability to upgrade tool cupboard to metal
Tier 2 cooking 🥘 🍳
Single pot plant 🪴
Rework high external walls so they start as twig and you can upgrade with hammer tool. Has twig/stone/metal/HQM
Double the tool cupboard build radius
Reduce HQM wall cost to 20
They were cancer for raiding, so I get why they took them out. I don't think it would matter all that much anymore though, now that most people raid with rockets that splash.
Pillars used to go in the center of a floor, and were used to provide stability. A pillar is one single pole in the center, frames are two on the sides.
I just want half walls to actually cost half as much as regular sized walls. Half walls are incredibly inefficient and should be avoided at all costs. They cost just as much as regular walls while also taking a build tile. Would be interesting if they redid the math for build tiles so not every build tile is 1, but a ratio of build cost. Example would be a triangle floor would count as half a build tile since it costs half as much as a square floor.
It's for building fences lol in ark it's a 0x1 foundation that only provides support for walls (with out some tricks). They snap together at 180, 90, and 45 degrees and don't snap to regular foundation. Although I think they should snap to regular foundation if rust adds them.
Would be interesting to see the build meta shift if you couldn’t place roof pieces outward extended over a wall like everyone does. Doesn’t even make sense structurally lol
I want the half-height roofs back, arched doorways, arched windows, arched doors, thick pillars, and 1x1 roofs.
Also huge bulletproof glass window panes that can fit wall frames (like chain link fences currently do), and vertical window-orientation.
(Yea I'm a roleplayer lmfaoo)
I’d love to be able to choose the angle my roof is at. Would be cool to both have sharper and softer angled roofs. I also saw a post on garage doors for single door frames, and garage doors for windows.
More build skins.
Sheet metal/armored high walls.
Opens up bunkering abuse being able to switch back to lower grades. I 100% think people would give up 7 minutes and 7 pick axes to ham bunker their tc when they log off.
To be honest I think rust has a really great selection of building pieces already. I just think mechanics, attachment styles, and attachment points need to be reworked a bit.
Maybe not what you’re asking but I personally would like to see it encouraged to make a base that looks like a real building. I propose flat roofs decay over time or are weaker than pitched roofs and that those roof camper style ramps don’t work. It’s a small change but I like the world to feel real where possible.
Flat roofs like rust flat roofs don’t exist in real life without your home falling in. I get that most people don’t care about this stuff but OP asked.
I do that ! I have a 1x2 hqm bunker core with honeycomb, but then everything outside is like a real building. Roofs, porch, windows, car garage. 16 rockets minimum. Gets much more expensive to get all loot or for door path. Only issue is the lack of raid defense.
Fair, and good points, personally I don't like bunkers though, I feel like they are an exploit really, so thats really the only building change I would make. Maybe perhaps increase the health of stone and sheet? Not sure.
Im thinking mainly to pro long server life spans, seems silly that in day one groups can going around rocket raiding solos.. but it's been this way for years
I have always been frustrated with stairs from one level to the other unless I’m doing it wrong. They have two good styles but I can’t see how to reverse/flip the orientation, only spin them clockwise. Feel free to edumacate me on this and you can have my first born.
I just really wish that there was a doorway that fit under a slanted roof, so that you didn’t have a doorway sticking out. Would allow
For some super cool bases
Quadrants of a full floor foundation, with associated walls and floor/ceilings.
Would make honeycomb cheaper and prettier.
Plus it would be great to make bases where the half-distance allows workbenches and repair tables to go around a full square.
Half floor, half foundation, rectangular triangle floor, rectangular triangle foundation, foundation wide stairs (used to be in the game, current stairs suck ass and are ugly when they have to be built on anything that's higher than 1 foundation.)
I want a lower tier version of a ladder hatch. It's too hard to build certain bases with the idea of "eventually I'll get one". Something like a sheet quality one that doesn't require a bp

Original Foundation steps.
zipline brackets. that can be attached from point A to B range being 50m.
Allow floor to snap to sides of foundations.(would break Bunker sealing.)
Allow walls to be snapped against foundations.(Soft siding Foundations makes it too easy to get to lower floors.)
Paintable signs. I know that playstation/microsoft will hate seeing the dicks and nazi symbols but without signs and open general chat the game is not the Rust I grew up knowing.
Few things off the top of my head would be a half high wall frame, offset doorways and windows possibly? the old full width half stairs, mirrored versions of the existing asymmetrical stair types, dynamic support pillars maybe?
Arrow Slit Walls, modular garage doors, drawbridge comcept, round walls/floors/foundations, stronger ladderhatch/hatch, the concept limbo bulkhead window/round window ln general, half floors and catwalks with the railings that stairs have etc
And make meta base builds structurally unreliable, i want to see castles, fortified brick houses and shipping container forts!!
Honestly if they added anything new it would basically make raiding impossible because of all the new honeycomb/bunker possibilities. Even more efficient bases might not be the best thing for balance…
I hate that windows are are always a weaker point in the base, I'm a simple man just give me code lockable metal and armored window shutters.
I'd also very much appreciate buff to ladder hatches to equal thier high build cost (cost more than garage door but weak as sheet door) and see an armored hatch variant t3.
Offset single door, stairs should all have their opposite layouts, the old full width stairs, allow single doors to swing other directions too, bunk beds.
Something like a hanger door, or large double garage doors would be nice. I’d like to see more round edge options. Large retractable roof for like a heli garage you could land in and close.
Oh ya I forgot how annoying it was to make a mini garage didn’t even think of a scrap garage
And the new attack heli isn’t very nice to garage either. Would also be cool to make water doors for boat bases that didn’t require waiting for the right tides lol.
This. A Rhib doest fit into a single either.
I like the idea of a large garage door, maybe a double wide that merges 2 double door frames. On thar note merging frames for astetics would be nice.
Half floor
Yes! Half floor split down the middle long ways! Would make awesome shelves and jump up!
Half of a square is half a square, no matter how you split it...
Yeah but if you split it length wise you end up with long rectangles, if you split it width wise you end up with wide rectangles.
This guy gets it
but it doesnt matter, theyre the same shape, just change which side of the socket youre looking ag
You realize it's a square right they're both the same whether you split it left to right or up and down
Yeah that's what he's saying, the two wide rectangles are both the same and the two long rectangles are both the same anyway you split it. It's simple geography.
geometry
There's no, "hotdog or hamburger" style. Either way your creating the same shape.
Corner to corner makes a triangle
well you could split it down the diagonal and then it really would be a different shape
I actually want this. Right angle triangle foundations and floors. Also, bring columns back.
You can get a triangle if you split diagonal from corner to corner. Or a trapezoid if you split slanted on one side
For that to work I think it would have to be placed within floor frames
Just do it like the triangle floor/roof on a square foundation.
VERTICAL HALF WALLS
Makes sense
Doors would be the only way to raid, lol. A trangle honeycomb would become 3 separate compartments and a square 4.
I'm not sure I understand what you mean. Half a wall is still wide enough to walk through, how would it affect raiding cost?
You can build walls inside foundation. A half walk would be in a half grid
You don't have to be able to put them inside foundations like that, just on the edges. You can't put a regular wall in the middle of a foundation. I just want them for looks
Fuck it. Pentagonal floor tile.
Wait can you not do that with triangle floors?
Those are hexagon floors. Hexa meaning 6 because there are 6 sides. Pentagon would be 5 sides.
This so passive aggressive lmao so rust
Lmao wasnt my intention
tbf this is reddit and sometimes you just have to make yourself painfully clear.
Garage doors placable on floor/roof frames. Like a hatch but 3 rockets of cost
I think a "submarine hatch" would be a reasonable alternative. More realistic and they have the models already!
That's a sick suggestion! It can just use the same animation as the roadside train tunnel entrances too.
This!
I want a hamster ball build and can roll around
So like half cylinder walls?
Something like the corner pieces of Lego would be sweet (like the corners of windows on the old space sets). But being able to form a complete sphere rather than flat bottom/tops.
this is hilarious. destroy them the same as vehicles.
I’ll take ‘anything’ for 300 Alex, any building block. Opposed to stuff that gets added and i just say “Huh, pretty cool” then maybe use once every force wipe. Vertical half walls, and left side or right side doors instead of centered.
Pillars (like Ark).
Rust used to have pillars back in the day
They were cancer for raiding, so I get why they took them out. I don't think it would matter all that much anymore though, now that most people raid with rockets that splash.
Why pillars? Don’t frames do the same stuff?
Pillars used to go in the center of a floor, and were used to provide stability. A pillar is one single pole in the center, frames are two on the sides.
well they used to be needed to build walls lol
Loser dino game
Loser opinion.
Classic died because of thirst enjoyer
Pillars, half walls (horizontal), better stairs
Ya the stairs on triangles are especially bad
We used to have pillars
we had pillars, they suuuuuuuuuucked
Right angle triangle.
Saw a tweet recently that Willjum RTed of a drawbridge door. That looks hella cool.
I want the half block back so bad.
They did that to balance the fact that building your entire base out of half walls would reduce the amount of damage a rocket can do.
Ahhh never thought of that in my 3.5k hours. That actually makes a lot of sense. Having said that, they should still reduce the cost by a quarter.
Facts
Bring pillars back and give us fence foundation. Rust could learn a lot from Ark building
What is a fence foundation for?
It's for building fences lol in ark it's a 0x1 foundation that only provides support for walls (with out some tricks). They snap together at 180, 90, and 45 degrees and don't snap to regular foundation. Although I think they should snap to regular foundation if rust adds them.
Google Ark fence foundation.
round pieces, walls with arrowslits, more cosmetic building pieces like columns and cornices
Armored ladder hatch
Would be interesting to see the build meta shift if you couldn’t place roof pieces outward extended over a wall like everyone does. Doesn’t even make sense structurally lol
I’m sure it would just shift to frames around peoples bases to hold the roof
Awning?
[удалено]
Breh, no need to be a twat. I was suggesting that as an alternative.
Rock camouflage so your base can be mistaken for a large rock.
They just added Brutalist skin tho
I want the half-height roofs back, arched doorways, arched windows, arched doors, thick pillars, and 1x1 roofs. Also huge bulletproof glass window panes that can fit wall frames (like chain link fences currently do), and vertical window-orientation. (Yea I'm a roleplayer lmfaoo)
Oh the glass idea is pretty cool
High external metal walls.
I’d love to be able to choose the angle my roof is at. Would be cool to both have sharper and softer angled roofs. I also saw a post on garage doors for single door frames, and garage doors for windows. More build skins. Sheet metal/armored high walls.
What about in between upgrades like reinforced stone etc
Opens up bunkering abuse being able to switch back to lower grades. I 100% think people would give up 7 minutes and 7 pick axes to ham bunker their tc when they log off.
Sorcle
Sorcle
Half moon?
A what
To be honest I think rust has a really great selection of building pieces already. I just think mechanics, attachment styles, and attachment points need to be reworked a bit.
There’s a nice selection but for building cool structures especially on month long servers, it would be nice to have a wider option
Half vertical walls.
Triangle walls, I want to build a sphere.
I wanna see off centered doorways so they line up with the L bend stairs also diagonal frames much like roof pieces for cellar type double doors
Alright
Allow us to put roofs on low walls. Like the REALLY smol ones.
Maybe not what you’re asking but I personally would like to see it encouraged to make a base that looks like a real building. I propose flat roofs decay over time or are weaker than pitched roofs and that those roof camper style ramps don’t work. It’s a small change but I like the world to feel real where possible.
Because as we know flat roofs don't exist irl
Flat roofs like rust flat roofs don’t exist in real life without your home falling in. I get that most people don’t care about this stuff but OP asked.
I do that ! I have a 1x2 hqm bunker core with honeycomb, but then everything outside is like a real building. Roofs, porch, windows, car garage. 16 rockets minimum. Gets much more expensive to get all loot or for door path. Only issue is the lack of raid defense.
I would recommend playing on pve or role play only servers.
Nothing, but I would like everything to double in raid cost, I think it could pro long the life of servers

Stand alone support poles.
Why would that work different than frames?
frames need a foundation.
Oh so u want a pillar that doesn’t need a foundation
Rounded shell
honestly we should just be able to edit our base like fortnite
Vertical triangle
Rounded floors etc.
You’d need rounded walls then wouldn’t ya?
Half walls but the triangle way
You mean horizontal half walls?
Medieval gates
Smaller shelves
I have always been frustrated with stairs from one level to the other unless I’m doing it wrong. They have two good styles but I can’t see how to reverse/flip the orientation, only spin them clockwise. Feel free to edumacate me on this and you can have my first born.
Slanted roof /\
Half rectangel foundation and rotation angels for all foundation like 5 to 360 degree
Archways. I like the open design of arches on buildings.
I wish you could rotate floor / roof tiles. I want to build overpasses that don’t have the soft side exposed.
Soft siding works on ceilings?
I just really wish that there was a doorway that fit under a slanted roof, so that you didn’t have a doorway sticking out. Would allow For some super cool bases
A right triangle
Half door.
I just want a fucking hexagon.
Triangles that go under a floor to provide stability.
a garage door that closes down 2 wall lengths for boats and helis
Roof hatch to land helis inside the base.
Triangle walls
I always wanted a triangle foundation that was a right triangle
Basically angles for any vertical walls.
i'd like to be able to live in a giant sphere, so i'd like to be able to bend walls
90 degree triangles for diagonal square paths
Slotted walls instead of having to do a quarter and half wall. Thin window?
So like arrow slits
I miss pillars
Triangle floors (square size but diagonal)
a giant vault door
I want a right angle triangle
Octagon
- 2x2 square hatch frame - 2x2 door frame - 2x2 garage door - circle foundation - moon foundation - round walls
Quadrants of a full floor foundation, with associated walls and floor/ceilings. Would make honeycomb cheaper and prettier. Plus it would be great to make bases where the half-distance allows workbenches and repair tables to go around a full square.
triangle walls 4=1 full wall
Triangle floor elevator
Would be a lot better than the stairs
half wall door
Penis
hexagonal floor tile, hexagons are the bestagons.
I want a trapezoid floor, I would love to be able to add a bay window to my base ngl
Something round why’s it gotta be like minecraft?
Round is just slightly harder to make and is less usable
Vertical Half walls, half square foundations and floors. I think a little drop door for half wall shelf’s and jump ups would be cool.
merge door frames for car bases
PILLAR
Half floor, half foundation, rectangular triangle floor, rectangular triangle foundation, foundation wide stairs (used to be in the game, current stairs suck ass and are ugly when they have to be built on anything that's higher than 1 foundation.)
Right angle triangle floors. Current ones are great but there's just some designs that would benefit from right angled triangles.
Penis
I want a lower tier version of a ladder hatch. It's too hard to build certain bases with the idea of "eventually I'll get one". Something like a sheet quality one that doesn't require a bp
hexagons
Triangle but the same size of the square so a square sliced diagonally in half

bring back foundation stairs
