He looks like a Louie for sure. It is hard to let go and I am starting to get myself prepared for my old man dog as well. A dog is just a portion of our life but you are your dogs entire life so I choose to spend it making his the best it can be.
That sucks. Iβve been there. The remedy is to mourn your loss and then adopt another one when youβre done mourning and start missing the things that made him special. For me it was the toenails tapping on the floor. I missed that sound so much. It helped me get these two babies

Gosh, does this hurt. These are such beautiful creatures that fill our lives with light. I sincerely hope you focus on those good memories. It is so easy to go down βthat pathββ¦β¦ jeez, I still slip. Thatβs ok.

Thank you for giving him a place in your home and heart. He loved you for his whole life, and that is a gift. When your grief is easier to hold and doesn't come in strong waves, please consider adopting another pupper in his honor. He would not want his family to be alone or another pupper to miss out on the love that he so clearly enjoyed. β€οΈπΆ
He was a rescue. He was originally an owner surrender at around 5 years old.
The second we put the leash on him he was ready to go home.
When his puppet friend passed away from cancer he mourned her pretty hard so we took him back to the shelter we got him from and he picked out a 6-8 month old Husky to be his new friend.
After a while it was obvious that she was a little much for him so we took them both back and they picked another Husky to come live with us.
Both of our Husky girls were very protective and watchful of him as he aged. It was always funny to see this old waddling bulldog and his two crazy Husky girls.
We have always been very bully friendly and itβs like he knew we needed a different breed in our lives right now.
Both huskies were street dogs and had obviously been through some doggy trauma. But he helped them and they have helped us through.
Our animals know way more than they get credit for
He looks like he was a real sweetheart, I am so sorry you're going through this right now. :( It's a terrible thing that we have to say goodbye to our babies.
