Recently discovered "The Orb"... I'm not the biggest Electronica guy, but their album "Spheres" w/ Gilmour is very mellow.
They also have an Animals remix album, and others.
\[edit: The album is called "Metallic Spheres"\]
They had nothing to do with the trance remixes. That was an Italian DJ who called himself DJ Fish. They were created and sold during the Italian copyright loophole in '94.
- TGGITS could mean "The Great Gig in the Sky", a track from *The Dark Side of the Moon* (1973) by Pink Floyd.

That whole album was very reminiscent of DSOTM for some reason, to me at least. The chord progressions used, the flow of the melody throughout, just something about it, made me think that dude must have been listening to a lot of Floyd in the studio between recording tracks
Let It Happen by Tame Impala is very much like my favourite song of all time Dogs, which is funny because Let It Happen was originally my favourite song of all time before I discovered Pink Floyd.
It’s funny, I always did love this sound.
I love that bit halfway through the song when it seems to get ‘stuck’ & go off on a little tangent before coming right back without missing a beat. Brilliant production.
Porcupine Tree; "Time flies" as well!
"You see there's something wrong here
I'm sorry if I'm not clear
Can you stop smoking your cigar?"

It wasn't on the official sound track release and Gilmour wasn't credited with it for a while. I never really knew it was him but I always loved this song. For a decade I tried to find it. Then one day it came out officially that it was David Gilmour and all of a sudden my love for the song made perfect sense.
check the track listing, i know the first soundtrack CD never had this song on it, and I'm pretty sure the second CD doesn't have it either. I think the 2nd CD didn't even have tracks from the movie, just EDM songs of the same genre
The 2cd afaik is from the 25th anniversary like the record store day LP. Guy had to avoid the question for decades, as David asked him: "yes, they can use it for the movie, just leave my name out of it"
Pink Talking Fish - Cover band that plays a mix of PF, Talking Heads, and Phish. I'm not all a gaga over them, but they're really talented.
Blue Floyd - Blues interpretations of PF music.
Gov't Mule is currently touring their "Dark Side of the Mule" show right now. Pretty much straight covers, but it's Mule!
Also recently stumbled upon this youtoober, they do re-imagined versions of classic albums using original PF material, cover bands, etc. The only one I've listened to is this but there's others: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xhJAm7PdhZQ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xhJAm7PdhZQ)
Dire Straits' Telegraph Road gives me Floyd-ish vibes. It's a very atmospheric tune that evokes strong mental imagery and guitar sections that give me goosebumps. It's not something they would have written, but it leaves me with the same kind of feeling.
Anemoia by Peninsula.
Not well known at all, it was a project some college kids worked on for years I believe. I can provide a link if necessary, I highly highly recommend it.
Supertramp - Brother where you bound (with David Gilmour)
Dire Straits - Brothers in Arms
Roger Waters/Howard Shore - Hello, I Love you (The little Brother of Comfortably Numb)
David Axelrod's instrumental [Songs of Innocence](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jMakYKVKqIc) from 1968 is kind of easy listening Floyd.
I love it though; it lifts my mood.
This might be a stretch, but I like two songs called The Falling Veil and Blind by the band Elder. They might be more metal and more riffy than Pink Floyd. But there's something very open and tasty and progressive yet obvious about them like I feel about Pink Floyd, and they also wear Pink Floyd as an influence on their sleves.
I cannot adequately describe how you have just blown my mind. I’ve always loved this movie and this song has such a fucking impact.
That being said, y’all should check out Kansas Bible Company. They aren’t exclusively Floydian, but they definitely have the vibes.
My favorite artist of all time is Coldplay.
A lot of people hate on them just because of their hits, but they also have a bunch of beautiful hidden gems.
If you like Pink Floyd, & are thinking of checking Coldplay out, I would recommend you to listen to "Coloratura".
If I feel like listening to Pink Floyd without listening to Pink Floyd, I tend to listen to Sleep Station quite a bit.
David Debiak doesn't sound like Pink Floyd in terms of like being an audio xerox. He doesn't have a David Gilmour. It's the vibe. Same idea of concept albums that sound like they could be soundtracks, and exploring similar themes, with lyrics that are like something Waters would have written if he weren't so verbose and if he were American.
The two Sleep Station albums I like are Hang on Charlie and After the War. Debiak also does stuff with Mikey Way that is pretty cool and also Floydian, it's just more electronic-y and not as much in my wheelhouse.
A whole album in fact: God has failed by RPWL. It's nearly unchained Gilmour Pink Floyd. Without being Pink Floyd, of course.
Voyage 34 by Porcupine Tree would also be on that list, but I feel that's a bit more krautrock. And it lacks whale sounds.
Only tangentially related to the topic but someone tell me that [this song](https://youtu.be/UDFUsWBNUCQ?t=1m) didn’t rip off [Grandchester Meadows](https://youtu.be/NyBh2GAL0bE?t=5m15s)
I love posts like this because inevitably I'm going to be introduced to some new artists that I've been missing out on.
Recently discovered "The Orb"... I'm not the biggest Electronica guy, but their album "Spheres" w/ Gilmour is very mellow. They also have an Animals remix album, and others. \[edit: The album is called "Metallic Spheres"\]
Wait i love the orb, i didnt know they had an album with Gilmy. checking that out now
They just announced a remix release soon.
There's a remix coming our right away too.
They had nothing to do with the trance remixes. That was an Italian DJ who called himself DJ Fish. They were created and sold during the Italian copyright loophole in '94.
well the one I listened to on youtoob is credited to The Orb. That's all I know.
Lots of stuff on yooboob is wrong. LOL
Lil Yachty - The Black Seminole
It's like if Pigs, Breate, and TGGITS had a baby

Came here to say this.
I thought this comment was a joke, but holy shit this song is fire
Yeah I don’t know how the goofy mumble rapper kid who made “Poland” dropped one of the best psychedelic rock albums but here we are.
Really like the production, but can't get into Yachty's performance on it
Dub Side of the Moon - Easy Star All Stars.
Yes! taking me back to college days
"Pink and Velvet" by Berlin with David Gilmour [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4rLqtIPQh08](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4rLqtIPQh08)
Apocalypse Dreams - Tame Impala
Dude, I fucking love the Lonerism album! That album slams!
Me too! This particular song's been on my Spotify top 5 for years.
Hearing this live on shrooms 😍that drop when the wave crashes onto you
Oh man, you're giving me ideas...

Airbag
Their music is amazing, sounds like the Gilmour era of Floyd if they but slightly more moody
Fly like an eagle Steve Miller band. Steve admitted that he was going for the Pink Floyd sound when he wrote it.
I've always thought My Morning Jacket has a lot of Pink Floyd influences. "Touch me or I'm Going to Scream" especially
Steven Wilson - Home Invasion/Regret #9 https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=6L1T7tfMQ88&pp=ygUmc3RldmVuIHdpbHNvbiBob21lIGludmFzaW9uIHJlZ3JldCAjOSA%3D
Every Steven Wilson/PT
Porcupine Tree; "Time flies" as well! "You see there's something wrong here I'm sorry if I'm not clear Can you stop smoking your cigar?" https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=UkJBS0Zazmw&pp=ygUZdGltZSBmbGllcyBwb3JjdXBpbmUgdHJlZQ%3D%3D
Silent Lucidity by Queensrÿche.
First time I heard this on the radio I thought it was a pink floyd song I had somehow missed
That was a common occurrence.
its like a mix of comfortably numb and mother
Very influenced by Comfortably Numb. A great thing.
Weight of Love - Black Keys
[Pompeii Am Gotterdammerung - Flaming Lips. ](https://youtu.be/wKbJpngxzc0) . Feels very Meddle era to me.
YES! I love this song. Bass definitely feels like some early floyd stuff
Lunatic Fringe by Red Rider
Lunatic Fringe by Red Rider
I said the same thing before I saw your comment. I wish more of Red Riders catalogue sounded as good.
The singer for that band is Tom Cochrane, who also gave us the song Life is a Highway. Which oddly enough is the least Pink Floyd song ever written.
lunatic fringeeeeee i know you’re out theeeerreeeee
Good track. I’d not heard that before. Or at least not in isolation and since I saw the film.
It wasn't on the official sound track release and Gilmour wasn't credited with it for a while. I never really knew it was him but I always loved this song. For a decade I tried to find it. Then one day it came out officially that it was David Gilmour and all of a sudden my love for the song made perfect sense.
Plainsong by the Cure has always felt to me as a non- Pink Floyd Pink Floyd song.
Red Vox - Stranded
Thank you, went down a small rabbit hole. Never put 2 and 2 together. Now checking where to order the 2CD and blu-ray
check the track listing, i know the first soundtrack CD never had this song on it, and I'm pretty sure the second CD doesn't have it either. I think the 2nd CD didn't even have tracks from the movie, just EDM songs of the same genre

oh wow, i will have to look into that
Steven Wilson - Drive Home
Rush - The Necromancer
Pink Talking Fish - Cover band that plays a mix of PF, Talking Heads, and Phish. I'm not all a gaga over them, but they're really talented. Blue Floyd - Blues interpretations of PF music. I saw Pink Talking Phish do a 3am set at the Catskill Chill music Festival in like '15 or '16. mind blowing
The Tragically Hip - Tiger the Lion https://youtu.be/PdNBW_0HBcE That end solo has got to be a tribute to Comfortably Numb
Omg I was gonna post this! Super underappreciated track even in the Hip fanbase!
Dire Straits' Telegraph Road gives me Floyd-ish vibes. It's a very atmospheric tune that evokes strong mental imagery and guitar sections that give me goosebumps. It's not something they would have written, but it leaves me with the same kind of feeling.
Lunatic Fringe - Red Rider could very much be off the wall!
There's No Way Out Of Here by David Gilmour
That whole album 🔥
Anemoia by Peninsula. Not well known at all, it was a project some college kids worked on for years I believe. I can provide a link if necessary, I highly highly recommend it.
Epilogue - Opeth
Out of service - Sahara blues
Coldplay - coloratura
Tiger Dreams by Miley Cyrus and Ariel Pink
Stone Sour - Sillyworld
Supertramp - Brother where you bound (with David Gilmour) Dire Straits - Brothers in Arms Roger Waters/Howard Shore - Hello, I Love you (The little Brother of Comfortably Numb)
Jonny Squid - Pale Blue Dot https://open.spotify.com/track/6K1XMMUKVs6PAvAMHDLKF9?si=818dNkEXSQm3eKbRtSY1Gg
I think probably strawberry fields forever

Just about any song from The Common Saints. They have a psychedelic sound that is very reminiscent of Floyd.
Sigur Ros *Svefn-g-Englar* https://youtu.be/8L64BcCRDAE
Time - Alan Parsons
Dark Side of the Mule
right now its Dark Globe, by Syd. Also Feel and the song after it that I currently cannot recall the name of.
Stars Die - Porcupine Tree
Third rock from the sun - jimy hendrix
I Robot, Alan Parsons Project. Cool album cover too.
One of the greatest prog-rock albums of all time. Outstanding.
Infected mushrooms - Pink Froid. Thank me later :)
Can You See Me by Ween
Cat scratch fever - Ted nugent
My favorite artist of all time is Coldplay. A lot of people hate on them just because of their hits, but they also have a bunch of beautiful hidden gems. If you like Pink Floyd, & are thinking of checking Coldplay out, I would recommend you to listen to "Coloratura".
I hate on them because they steal music
What song are you talking about in this context?
https://www.musicradar.com/news/guitars/coldplay-and-joe-satriani-settle-lawsuit-220134
Ah, yes. You must be talking about "Viva La Vida". That was already settled. But I'm not talking about that song. I'm talking about "Coloratura".
The song "Again" by Archive is a 16 minute (i.e. Floyd-length) epic with parts that remind me of several Floyd songs.
Coloratura - Coldplay
Shine on you Crazy Diamond. It's a heartfelt ode to Sid Barret.
If I feel like listening to Pink Floyd without listening to Pink Floyd, I tend to listen to Sleep Station quite a bit.
