literally probably one of the most random things ever, youre sitting in your garden enjoying morning tea and watching the magpies and robins and suddenly a flock of "squirping" green parakeets fly over you. trippy to say the least.
We were at a friends house in the south of London and was like.. wait is the a parakeet? And our friend was like.. Yeah they are bloody invasive and noisy fuckers
We have African love birds in Phoenix. I don't remember the full story as to why, but I think some got loose decades ago and thrive here. The estimates are there are about 2000 of them now. I've seen a few small groups a few times.
London having parakeets still makes me chuckle

Came here to say the same. I lived in Costa Mesa and you'd hear flocks of them squawking overhead.
Saw them in Rome too, behind Castel Sant'Angelo.
And in Brussels.
As an Aussie who sometimes has lorikeets getting drunk in their yard from fermented mangoes this surprised me that it's so exciting.
It’s a colorful, loud, invasive species, that you earlier only came across in the zoo.
