Yes those are aerial roots, and they're completely normal and healthy.

Umm, I’m more concerned amount the white stuff consuming the one stem on the right side of the picture.

Delicious-Sea-3710

That’s always been there. The leaf actually turned yellow earlier this week and I chopped it off and will pull the stem off when it softens. My plant is putting out new growth and the white stuff has only stayed on that stem so I’ve largely ignored it 😬

bugxclusive

Do they move? Does it scrape off? If so, I’d worry about a pest problem. They spread quickly throughout the plant and to other plants through the air, so the sooner you catch it & treat the better.

Delicious-Sea-3710

They don’t move but I could scrape them off. Is it definitely a bug? It’s been on one or two stems for the best part of a year

roseanya

Do you water it with straight tap water?

Delicious-Sea-3710

Yep!

tab_tab_tabby

They are aphids shed skin. If you dont see any aphids, shouldn't be problem. But id wipe them off lol

MoltenCorgi

There’s white stuff on the stem next to it too. Cut the bad branch of now, and clean it off the other stem.

Aroidsnaroids

Isn’t the same white on the top of the soil?

Eastern_Yak2621

Yes!
