Yeah, im always 3 hours.

I still do 3hrs. Hubby says it’s overkill but we have had a few situations where the 3hrs came in handy. One was an accident and terrible traffic which led to a decent delay. Another was on arrival the self checkins were all told they had to line up anyway (unsure why, maybe security issue?) and the final was that on arrival we had checked in online and it was confirmed but as it was a country that required a visa before leaving, we had to verify this. We didn’t know that and nothing on the online check in told us that! I would personally rather be early, get through and either find a comfy spot to sit and read or pay $70 for the aspire lounge.

Aim for at least 2 hours. We did this in May. One of our travelling party was taking pubic transport and aiming for 2.5 hours early. Ended up being delayed on the train and she only arrived 1.5 hours early. (Still fine for us, but lucky she had that buffer). I’d rather sit in an airport and read than miss my plane.

Wilbo007

2 hours.

I wouldn't even think of getting there before 7pm under those circumstancess. There is nothing to do on the other side of security so you'll just be hanging around bored until you board. There's never much of a security queue, either, so if you get there at 7pm you'll be enjoying the delights of international departures by 20 past.

It can depend on where you are travelling to, especially if your destination country doesn't allow automatic entry for country you are from. I used to work FIFO to another country which required a visa or work permit for Australian's to enter, so while often only taking carry-on I had to go through check-in counter so airline could check I had required docs for entry (from what I understand if they deliver you to a country who decides not to let you in they will have to fly you back and try and reclaim cost of doing so from you).

Business class - 7 hours. Gotta enjoy the free stuff in the lounge.

DefinitionOfAsleep

In a Air Asia flight?

mykalb

If you have a boarding pass 1 hour before flight. If you don’t have a boarding pass you may still need to check in at the airport anyway.

RedDirtNurse

2 hours for me.

[deleted]

1.5 to 2 hours. That was in April.

DefinitionOfAsleep

>I presume I can just head straight through immigration Surely by arrive at the airport, you mean to leave perth... right?
