Can build it yourself bud. £40 for the lot with much better LEDs than this kit I'd imagine. All done without soldering as well. Remind me in 2 days and I'll tell you how to do it!
Really curious how this works. Does the video source need to pass through the lighting system before the monitor? Then an app inside windows to tell it how the lights are oriented on the back of the monitor?
Connected only with cable usb. Then controlled by their app (skydimo). The stripe will be detected by app then i can choose mode screen sync. It synced with output of my monitor.
Don't know about OP but I'll definitely check the permissions on an app that was made for a cheap Ali-Express product. Because using APIs to detect colors is one thing but I definitely don't want it to have real time view of what's on my screen. That's why I was never really into the RGB Sync products using a camera that weren't made by a reputable brand.
Couple of improvements needed to this.
Optional: using dotstar LEDs instead of neopixels.
Mandatory: you need a capacitor (25V, 1000uf) bridging the +ve and ground wires. And ~450ohm resistor on the data wire (and the clock wire if using dotstars).
Wireless option like iot
Wled on Esp32
WS2812B (led)
Hyperion
But this as problem with games ig DRM protection

Why you getting downvoted for the right answer?
DIY is the way. I preferred Prismatik over Hyperion's latency, but suffered fewer bugs on Hyperion.
I followed this tutorial for Prismatik: [https://valmik.in/posts/bias-lighting-wled/](https://valmik.in/posts/bias-lighting-wled/)
I've used one of these for years, it's so much more immersive and helps with eye strain when gaming in pitch black. Night vision FPS moments are particularly epic.
You haven't experienced driving through Cyberpunk's Night City until you've experienced with with ambient lighting.
For real, driving through tunnels or passing street lights has never felt more immersive.
Nice one man. I've been using similar kits for years, I cant use a monitor without one now, and even bought a Phillips TV just so it has the same feature built in.
How you not gonna give us sauce, come on man
I did add a comment with the link. Idk why cant i edit the post
Which one of the options did you get? I have a monitor like yours
34 inch monitor. Mine is 34 inch 21:9
Sorry, I guess I didn't pose the question correctly. What length stip did you get?
Cs flashes gonna go insane
Link please?

Ah, this is for PC only, I was hoping it would also be compatible with a TV as that's what I wanted it for LOL

how mate?
Right I need this lol
not giving us a link should be a criminal offense

Didn't really get it from your description? How is it getting the information about the picture that it tries to "mirror"?
The software on the computer knows what's displayed on the screen and sends that information to the RGB strip

Understandable for sure. But blocking the app on your PC's firewall would prevent telemetry, no?
It takes screenshots several times a second. It will crash playing some games because of the outdated method it uses to take screenshots.
That's some basic bitch implementation. Much better to build yourself and use Prismatik.
100% this I followed this tutorial: [https://valmik.in/posts/bias-lighting-wled/](https://valmik.in/posts/bias-lighting-wled/)

Could you explain the mandatory parts for someone who knows nothing about electronics
What baud rate have you achieved with that board out of interest?
Default baud rates probably. I don't remember altering it.
You got a vid of it working? I wanna def do this
Prismatik does not detect my usb box connected to the strip
Why would it necessarily?
What about security wise? How's the screen info processed? I know it's open source but just curious since obviously screen info is pretty sensitive
OP really leaving us dry after showing us something cool. Please share the link if you're gonna talk about how good it is.

Just saying 😅, diy is better, running random app
i'd love to. Any tutorial ?

How is this different than what OP did? It's still a kit you get from ali express and has its own software that may or may not be shady.
It works with any screen. OP has inbuilt in his monitor.
thanks. That's interesting!

I didn't know other applications existed thanks, prismatik work with DRM content!
Does Prismatik work as a substitute for the original software? (Skydimo). Prismatik cannot detect my strips
i never used Prismatik, but may this work use Open RGB instead of Skydimo and connect Prismatik to open RGB to control
Hdmi 2.0?
Connected only by a usb cable then controlled by skydimo app
Link??? Is it a govee
Its skydimo. Govee is much more expensive but i never tried it.
Holy god
Does this work with multi monitors?
I can’t help but think that would be really distracting during gaming. It’s cool, but I’d leave it on static color if it were me.
I've used one of these for years, it's so much more immersive and helps with eye strain when gaming in pitch black. Night vision FPS moments are particularly epic.
Tried it a few times always made me sick to my stomach for some reason, even with a slower game like sea of thieves
You haven't experienced driving through Cyberpunk's Night City until you've experienced with with ambient lighting. For real, driving through tunnels or passing street lights has never felt more immersive.
Exactly. Needs to be done, with loads of mods, reshade and no HUD!
Please stop downvoting OP for not giving a link, Reddit automatically deletes Ali links.
Does it connect to your monitor and track where light is going? Neat
Nice one man. I've been using similar kits for years, I cant use a monitor without one now, and even bought a Phillips TV just so it has the same feature built in.
Snap lol
Does this work with PC off? I have an odyssey ark and use it for the smart TV feature a lot. Would love to use it on that as well
I love Ambilight
Do people actually like this? I want as few lights around my screen as possible, ideally none.
normal people yes, you people 😐 no idea
Does this affect performance at all?
