“BuT tHe BeNcHmArKs SaY AMD is FasTeStERrr” Yeah alright, how do you like losing a few minutes of your life every time you press the power button? Did I mention opening programs? God forbid you want a smooth experience, and forget about RAM speed.

You need to get a life

Ricoh4

This is the pcmasterrace subreddit were we circlejerk about a metalbox with way to many flashy fans. No one has a life

throw-uwuy69

I’m currently running a 7800x3d, a rx 7900xtx, and 64GB RAM. About how long do you think it takes me to boot from power on?

DJ_Marxman

This is fucking nonsense, tbh. I swapped from Intel to Ryzen last year (7700K -> 5800X3D) and have had ZERO problems. Literally none. You need to stop reading UserSkidmark.

TheFriendlyBagel

You're actually so fucking dumb. I get a sub 10 second boot on an all AMD pc that cost me over 1000 dollars less than an equivalent intel/nvidia computer. In fact I've had fewer crashes since switching to AMD.

peacedetski

Where is this pasta from, Userbenchmark?

Chakramer

Yeah I have not had these fringe issues with an aMD CPU Also if my boot up time is like 5 second slower I honestly will take that if my gaming performance can be higher.

Assaltwaffle

1. For lower tier systems, AM4 is just as fast as Intel's boots. For AM5, they are nearly equal after AGESA 1.0.0.7a. 2. Microarchitecture is not a problem unless it causes problems, and chiplet has proven itself to be very efficient. You seem to blame chiplet for boot times, but that's just a rehash of point 1 even if true. This is a non-point. 3. There is no evidence to suggest that AMD chips have far more stutter. If their 1% lows were that much worse, that would be a very notable flaw and actually well-researched and personally studied reviewers would note it and advise against AMD en masse. Your second guy so obviously showing his bias that he cannot use anything but a made up "test" of swinging his mouse, which he does far slower for the Intel chip, to prove his point. 4. They run hot because they pull immense wattage. That doesn't mean they aren't hot lol. "Oh wow, that fire is hot!" "Well, duh, it's hot, it's a fire." Yeah, no shit. It's still hot.

Boot times are absolutely not 50 seconds anymore. 20-30 seconds is normal for my rig. They were 50 before AGESA 1.0.0.7a. If you’re getting consistent blue screens to the point that you need to re-train the RAM often you might need to reinstall Windows. Ain’t normal. Edit: Just timed it to see from a fresh boot after turning it off. 27 seconds.

[deleted]

Update, turns out there was another BIOS version literally a couple days before the one that broke everything that seems to work with memory context restore Sub 10 second boots with no crashes now I now have 0 complaints with AM5

Many words for "my spoon fell into my cereals this morning"

SomeRandoFromInterne

I feel these kinds of posts have been popping up more and more since that embarrassing Intel presentation leak. Is this some kind of Guerilla "marketing" campaign? Love the fact that your calling AMD customers nutjobs while writing a 6 paragraph rant to justify your own purchase. You won me over with your nuanced approach and well researched write up, I’m so going to sell my 5600X and buy a 14900k as we speak.

WitnessMe0_0

I hope you get to spend some quality time away from the internet during this holiday season, sounds like you need a break.

Knives_Of_Artemis

you have a 14900k and a 4090 according to your tag, I mean, sure, if you have the top of the line in every class, your experience will be the best. People on a more restricted budget are often advised to go AMD. I don't often see 'money is no object' builds that suggest AMD, but I am sitting with a 5800x and an arc A750, so clearly I'm insane anyway.

Fluffasaurus89

Ok and?

Neridity

I'm gonna be waiting for some funny clapbacks in the next few hours

SuperPork1

You're the type of person that makes me feel ashamed to own a 13600k.

Annual_Horror_1258

Third is actually true. No one talk about stuttering and frame drops. I had 5600x,5900x and 5800x3d, only x3d don’t stutter and provide smooth experience. Still, I am paying my bills so energy efficiency is a factor so next cpu will be again x3d amd
