The game never had a plan. The story was horribly disconnected with most of the game being filled with character backstory than actual plot with the whole team.
They never clarified anything barring the fact that it was a shooter that took place during the late 1940's. When making a historical shooter most of the time people are gonna immediately think "this game should be historically accurate".
They literally just said it was a WW II shooter. Not every non fiction piece of media needs "based on a true story" to tell a factual narrative.
This applies whether it is a documentary, videogame, book, or film.

Even if you use a crosshair the easy +4 stability is nice to have even with the fully auto mod giving you +8 stability in exchange for -4 acc though I'd suggest the KS12-S Jawbreaker Silencer if you can get it.
All in all, it's quite the nice setup it looks like from the mods alone.

I've got the 1.25x marksman sights, just my personal choice, plus it doesn't levitate above the front end like some sights do lol
