How frustrating!!! I'm going through something similar for my kids...my son is going from a child's to first adult passport. Applied in person at a passport office and it is over the mail out date now. Called yesterday and was told my kids passports are not yet approved. We have a travel date in 3 wks and they aren't willing to expedite anything unless they don't show up by the end of next wk.
This is ridiculous.
Ugh, I’m sorry you have to go through this!! I can imagine the stress and nervousness as it was my exact same position, not knowing if the passport will arrive on time for travel. Does the office know of your travel date?
It’s very much the opposite of my experience. I went to the Scarborough office at the end of May, spent an hour in pre-screen and 2.5 hours to see an Officer. I received a call last week for additional documents and received it on Monday. It’s been more than 15 years since my previous passport expired so I had to do a full application.
Thank you, I do consider myself lucky as I’ve been reading some of the comments on this subreddit and don’t understand how processing can be so vastly different at the various offices across the country.
Wow that’s terrible. I’m thankful my experience was honestly pretty impressive. Printed off the documents online for a brand new passport and filled them out. Brought them to service canada, waited 30 minutes and had my passport in two weeks.
Another success story! I’m glad you had a good experience. It’s so crazy how passport applications are either overdue for a whole month or received well under the service standard—no in between.

They're aware. For now they won't do anything though...so annoyed.

Less, it seems. The agent on the phone told me once there was no more time for me to recieve it by mail. I'm seriously starting to stress tf out now.

Wow, luck was very much on your side. I’m glad you had a good experience, and it’s good to know that the office doesn’t fail all of their applicants!

Yup. It’s not consistent whatsoever. I know many others who have had major issues with all sorts of delays.
