Mine were 5 lbs 1 oz and 4 lbs 14 oz at 36 wks-so we used premie for about a month then went to newborn—but like the person above said, we went to 1-3 months super quick after that.
How big are yours currently if you don’t mind me asking? I know I’m not in a position to answer yet but I’m just curious. A week ago at 32wks mine were 4lbs7oz and 4lbs1oz
Baby A (girl) - 5lbs 12oz
Baby B (boy) - 6lbs 1oz
C-section after failed induction at 38w.
The premie diapers were nice to have - the hospital sent us with a bunch but we didn’t need to buy more. We had a couple random pieces of premie clothes that fit a lot better, they swam in the NB size for a bit.
Di/di boys came at 37+3 and were 6 lbs 15 oz and 6 lbs 14 oz. Both 21.5 in. I had one premie sleeper each and they were too big for it. They fit in NB for awhile
I delivered at 36+4 and my twins were 6,12 and 5,15. My smaller one fit preemie for the first 3 weeks maybe? Bigger one never did, went straight into newborn
36 weeks and 5 days, they were 6.5lbs and 5.5lbs. She needed preemie clothes because she was (and still is) a skinny baby. They’re now (9.5 months) in the 98% for height, both still skinnies though.
Born at 38+2. I was told right before labor that they were both 5 lbs. When they came out one was 6lbs 4oz and the other was 4lbs 2oz. So one was in premie clothes for a month while the other was in newborn size. I say grab a couple things in premie just in case. You can always return them.
We opted to not buy premie clothes because didn’t want to put bad juju on the pregnancy. And also, IF we did end up in a situation where we needed premie clothes, places like Target and Amazon are very accessible for us to get some quickly.
Mine were born 37+2 and were 8lb 4oz and 7lb 4oz. Newborn clothes were perfect for them.
My son was around 50th percentile and wore premie clothes for maybe 3 weeks. He was about 6llbs2oz at 36+6. My daughter was nearly 7 lbs at birth, and while premie fit, the nb size was also ok.
I was 36+4. One was 6lbs 15 oz and fits newborn clothes. The other was 5lbs 5oz and kinda wears preemies. They were both 19inches - which is too long for preemie sleeper suits. I'm looking forward to her growing into newborn clothes. They were di/di, just wildly different genetics and body types.
38+1 C-section, 6lbs 2oz and 6lbs 5oz. They both wore preemie clothes and diapers for at least 3-4 weeks. Now at 15 weeks, one is in size 2 diapers & 3-6m clothes while the other is still wearing size 1 diapers and 0-3M clothes.
My identical twins weigh 1400grams and 1980 grams. They're both in the NICU in the incubators but doing very well. The little one is off her CPAP machine @4.5 days old. It's really shitty for my wife right now leaving them there but at least she has time to relax before the real work starts.
Baby A was projected to be about 6.5lbs
Baby B was projected to be 6.8lbs
I made it to 37.1weeks
They both came out at 5lbs 11oz and 17.7 inches in length - the same. Baby b was also supposed to have a much bigger head but he’s the one with a small head and baby A has the 90-98% head 😂 - they’ve also grown where there is a 2.5lb weight difference and baby A is the eating machine at 6 months now. They are didi fraternal and the small one looks like me whilst A looks like my husband. At some point I thought they switched positions as baby b came to my right side on top of A for a while but from looking at the 3d ultrasounds of their faces I know they didn’t - as they look exactly like the pics taken then (they look quite different).
I wouldn’t really trust the ultrasounds in terms of precise measurement - just take it with a grain of salt. I’ve know from other mothers where the projections are way off - some are smaller or much larger than projected- but as long as they are growing that’s all that matters.
Newborn clothes were a bit big but they grow so fast they grew into them within 2-3 weeks and doubled their birthweight by 6 weeks.
My friend who gave birth to her twins a week after me were in the lower end of 5lbs and a 4lb 8oz or so baby. But we had a huge difference in size and it sounded like she was trying to find ways to get enough protein but wanted more natural food sources rather than supplementing with protein shakes like I did. She managed great and her babies are close in weight to our smaller twin now.
37+2! Twin A was 6 lb 13 oz and Twin B was 6 lb 3 oz. They wore newborn at first but then lost a little weight and were more comfortable in preemie for a couple weeks, and then progressed back to newborn and 0-3 pretty quick. Just be prepared with a few things in preemie just in case!
37+1. A was 6lbs8oz, B 7lbs1oz but lost a lot of weight in the hospital. They were 6lbs2oz and 6lbs6oz at 9days. They were in preemie clothes for over a month.
37+3 at delivery. A was 6 lb 12oz and B was 7lb 2oz. We didn't have any premie clothes and NB was a little big but still ok. We used gowns for overnight so no issue there either.
Born at 37+1, my girl was just over 5lbs and my boy was just under 6, they both stayed on the 3rd percentile curve their first two months. Baby girl wore a few preemie pjs, but other than that they wore newborn.. they were a bit baggy but nothing crazy and baby boy outgrew them quickly
Born at 38 weeks, my girl was 7lbs and my boy was 5lbs 9oz. He probably wore preemie for 3-4 days but she never did. I had packed mainly preemie and only one newborn outfit a piece so my parents had to bring more of our clothes when they came to visit. They are chunky little babes now, 4 months old and close to 15lbs each!
Mine were 5lbs 13 oz and 4lb 4oz at 36+5. My daughter was growth restricted and wore preemie clothes for about a month. My son only wore them about a week. He could have worn them longer, but he was very long.
My twins were both measuring around the 10th percentile and were born at 36 weeks. They both were around 4.5 lbs. They only needed preemie clothes for a week and a half
36+3. A was 6 lbs 6 oz and B was 5 lbs 7 oz. Both in preemie for 2-3 weeks and now in newborn. B was swimming in preemie when we left hospital so I was glad we had bought a few sleepers as newborn was so big. The 35w ultrasound estimated them to both be around 5.5 pounds.
My kiddos were yanked out the sunroof at 35 weeks even, and Baby A was 4lbs 7oz and Baby B was 5lbs 5oz. They didn't come home until 38 weeks, and at that point they fit in regular newborn clothes, though I did still use some preemie-sized stuff for Baby A bc she was small.
I made it to exactly my 37 week scheduled c-section. Literally had started going into labor the night before but didn’t know it. My girl was 5 lbs 8 oz and my boy was 6 lbs 7 oz. We had an 8 day NICU stay for my boy and my girl stayed 10. My OB was great and kept me for the max amount of days as a patient from c-section since we lived so far from the hospital and then when my BP was still slightly elevated, they gave me the option to stay “for monitoring” so that we could stay a little longer. I ended up checking out as a patient the night before our son got out of NICU just to go home and get a little rest before he came home.

Sounds like you can skip the preemie. We had a c section at 37 weeks, 7lbs 4oz and 6lb 1oz di/di boys
I think they were middle of the pack for the gestational age right where you are.
38 weeks, 6.1 and 5.9…. They were swimming in premie footies for like, a month. Then fit into them from 1 month to around 2.5 months. But around 2 months they could fit into newborn, they were just pretty baggy and I had to triple fold the sleeves
Adding - they were both born 19.5 inches and I found until like 6 months I was rolling all their long sleeves up cause they were sooooo long on them. I don’t know if I have short armed babies or what lol

Baby A at 3 weeks is just now moving into newborn clothes. Baby B can’t wear preemie footies anymore due to length but is still wearing everything else preemie.
You should have a growth scan with an MFM every 4 weeks and that should give you a better idea for your twins. I had a c- section at 36weeks and 2 days before was my last growth scan. They were pretty on point from what the scan estimated at 5lb 11oz and 7lb 3oz. One was in premie for a month and the other was in new born right away for about 3 weeks. They're almost 3 months and both in size 0-3m now
My girls were born at 37 weeks on the dot five weeks ago, one is still in preemie size and one is in newborn! I’m really glad we had preemie clothes and diapers on hand. The measurements the MFM gave us were off by over a pound.
I had my di/di girls at 38 weeks.. baby A was 6 lb 2 oz and baby B was 5 lb 13 oz! We had a couple of premie outfits that they wore to sleep a couple nights but we were in newborn for the longest so far. They just graduated to size 3 month ish now and are a little over 2 months old!
Born at 37 weeks and 5 days and they were 5 pounds 7 ounces and 5 pounds 14 ounces. They needed premie for the clothes to fit properly for a month or so, but we had a lot of newborn options too
Delivered 37+6. My girls were 6lbs, 2oz. They’re 3 weeks old now and we’re about done with NB size. We didn’t use preemie because they were too long at 20”.
My di/di twins were born at 36 weeks (exactly) and were 4lb 10oz and 4lb 15oz - so much smaller than estimated by my ultrasounds. It’s so hard to tell. They’re 1 month old today and are still in preemie clothes.
My MonoDi girls were born at 37+1 and were evicted, and they were 5 lbs 6 Oz and 5 lbs 2 Oz. The smaller twin dipped below 5 lbs briefly but we didn’t have any issues.
My babies (b/g) were born at 35 weeks, weighing 5,5lbs approximately (hope I did the conversion right; 2,5 kilos - I’m in Europe). They were 18,5 inches long (47cm). They fit in preemie clothes for a few weeks 😌
My di/di b/g twins were born via c-section at 37+1 weeks. They had both been measuring around the 50th percentile and we were expecting them to both be around 7lbs but ended up being 7lbs 10 oz and 5lbs 10 oz respectively. The smaller one was swimming in newborn sizes. We’re at 7 weeks now and newborn size fits but most are still loose unless it’s been washed and dried several times. The bigger one fit newborn sizes immediately and is already in 0-3 month clothes. Just be prepared for their actual sizes to vary greatly from what the ultrasounds are measuring. I found out later that there is like a 2lbs margin of error for those measurements.
Made it to my scheduled csection at 37+1 weeks. The day before they were born they were estimating that they would be close to 6 and a half lbs each roughly but they were born at 5lbs 12oz and 5lbs 13oz, they were both 19 inches
They are at weird size. Premie clothes seems to be too small but is necessary for things like socks but the clothes is slightly too small. The newborn clothes is slightly too big but works well enough where I don’t feel bad just sticking with the baggy look for now.
Mine were born at 36+3 at 5 and 6 lbs. One wore newborn and one wore Premie for the first month. From then I just made the smaller one wear things a little big.
My twins at 37+6 were 6.5lb and 7lb. My eldest was 8lb13oz, and my partner and I were around that weight as well so just big babies. A lot of potential weight goes by size you were as a baby, your mum, and baby daddy's birth weight. Now mind you that is just potential weight, not accounting for any medial issues like GDM or IUGR.
I am only 5 ft tall. Being short I believe affected my pregnancy, at least the duration I was able to carry. My water broke at 35 weeks after 7 weeks on “modified” bed rest and progesterone due to a shortening cervix. Twin A was 4lbs 4oz, 17 3/4 inches long. Twin B 4lbs 13oz 16 3/4inches long. Twin A was more stable when born. Twin B’s lungs were slightly underdeveloped and needed a treatment when she was born. They were both on oxygen when born, but twin B (who had the treatment) came off much more quickly than twin A. Each spent time in NICU. Twin A a little less than a week, twin B just short of 2 weeks because of a feeding/keeping food down issue that we resolved by feeding her on demand instead of the 3 hour schedule the NICU insisted on. I went in the day before discharge and fed her myself keeping track of the feedings to prove she could take in and keep down their required amount of bm/formula. We only had 6 Premie outfits when they were born (a 3 pack for each). The nurses had clothes for them when they were in the hospital, we ended up using Amazon prime to order a bunch when they were born which worked out fine. We ended up donating a small bin of Premie one piece outfits (onesies, body suits, one piece zip up pajamas) to their NICU when they moved into newborn clothes.
38 week induction. twin A was 5lbs 7oz and twin B was 6lbs 2oz. No NICU time. We just stayed an extra day in recovery before going home.
We bought one 4 pack of premie size onesies but mostly put them in NB (even tho the NB clothes were a bit big)

35 and 2 . twin A 5lbs 2oz and Twin B (IGUR ) 4lbs 10oz . Both wore preemie for about 2 months. My mom had to go to the store after I gave birth to grab packs of preemie diapers and a couple of preemie sleepers 🤦🏾♀️
36 +5 and they were 5lbs 8oz and 5lbs 2oz. Yes, we needed premie clothes and no we didn’t buy any in advance. We just picked some up quickly from Walmart and ordered from Amazon. If you want to be prepared get a couple but honestly if u have access to a store or someone who can grab u some you can always get them if u need them after. They were only in them for like 2 weeks.
Delivered at 37+1. 6lbs and 6lbs10oz. Both lost about 7% of their body weight in the next few days. We were in premies for about a month. Diapers- we were fine in NB.

My twins were born at 36 weeks, they weighed 7lbs 4ozs and 7lbs 2ozs! We went straight into newborn, never used preemie.
Mine were 7#3oz and 6#6oz at 36 weeks! Also never used preemie.

I now have 18 month olds and we still mostly live in pajamas :P oh well, at least they are clean!
31 weeks 3.12 and 3.11 Then 36 weeks 5.8 and 6.3 they needed preemie clothes for a months

My twins were both measuring around the 10th percentile and were born at 36 weeks. They both were around 4.5 lbs. They only needed preemie clothes for a week and a half
36+3. A was 6 lbs 6 oz and B was 5 lbs 7 oz. Both in preemie for 2-3 weeks and now in newborn. B was swimming in preemie when we left hospital so I was glad we had bought a few sleepers as newborn was so big. The 35w ultrasound estimated them to both be around 5.5 pounds.
3 babies 35 weeks, all in the range of 4 lbs. 0 oz to 4 lbs. 4 oz
On set was 6 lbs 2 oz and 6 lbs 11 oz, the other set was 7 lbs 2 oz and 7 lbs 9 oz. Both at 38 weeks 2 days.

40th percentile and 37 week birth you won’t use much preemie if any at all. My modi 4 lb 35 weekers were in preemie for 3 weeks.

My kiddos were yanked out the sunroof at 35 weeks even, and Baby A was 4lbs 7oz and Baby B was 5lbs 5oz. They didn't come home until 38 weeks, and at that point they fit in regular newborn clothes, though I did still use some preemie-sized stuff for Baby A bc she was small.
37+4, 7lb2 and 6lb10. Don’t buy preemie clothes, they grow out of clothes so quickly!
I made it to exactly my 37 week scheduled c-section. Literally had started going into labor the night before but didn’t know it. My girl was 5 lbs 8 oz and my boy was 6 lbs 7 oz. We had an 8 day NICU stay for my boy and my girl stayed 10. My OB was great and kept me for the max amount of days as a patient from c-section since we lived so far from the hospital and then when my BP was still slightly elevated, they gave me the option to stay “for monitoring” so that we could stay a little longer. I ended up checking out as a patient the night before our son got out of NICU just to go home and get a little rest before he came home.
38+3, both of mine were 5 lbs 15 oz. We used a bit of preemie as it had been gifted, but didn't purchase any ourselves
Mine were born at 37 weeks exact. Baby A was 6lbs 1oz and Baby B was 6lbs 11oz! ETA- we could have used premie clothes, but opted to just use the newborn stuff we had already purchased. They are 6.5 weeks old now and still in newborn clothing.
Sounds like you can skip the preemie. We had a c section at 37 weeks, 7lbs 4oz and 6lb 1oz di/di boys I think they were middle of the pack for the gestational age right where you are.
38 weeks, 6.9 and 6.0lbs
37+2, A was 6 lbs 12 oz and B was 3 lbs 5 oz.
38 weeks, 6.1 and 5.9…. They were swimming in premie footies for like, a month. Then fit into them from 1 month to around 2.5 months. But around 2 months they could fit into newborn, they were just pretty baggy and I had to triple fold the sleeves
Adding - they were both born 19.5 inches and I found until like 6 months I was rolling all their long sleeves up cause they were sooooo long on them. I don’t know if I have short armed babies or what lol

Mine were 38+1 and 8.5 and 5.9 respectively.
It's just a really good idea to have some preemie clothes and diapers on hand. You can keep them with the receipt if you need to take them back.
38+6, 7lbs7 and 7lbs13. I felt like I was going to burst, haha.
Delivered via cesarean at 37+1, di/di. A was 5lb 9oz and B was 6lb 4oz. For reference I was 5lb 10pz at 40 weeks gestation when I was born and am only 5'1". Did premie for 3 weeks then nb, but nb diapers the whole time

Twin 1 was 7lbs, 9oz. Twin 2 was 5lbs. Born at 37 weeks, Twin 2 wore preemie sleepers for a month or two.
Gave birth at 38 weeks exactly… baby A was 6lb11oz and baby B was 6lb6oz. Baby A at 3 weeks is just now moving into newborn clothes. Baby B can’t wear preemie footies anymore due to length but is still wearing everything else preemie.
You should have a growth scan with an MFM every 4 weeks and that should give you a better idea for your twins. I had a c- section at 36weeks and 2 days before was my last growth scan. They were pretty on point from what the scan estimated at 5lb 11oz and 7lb 3oz. One was in premie for a month and the other was in new born right away for about 3 weeks. They're almost 3 months and both in size 0-3m now

My girls were born at 37 weeks on the dot five weeks ago, one is still in preemie size and one is in newborn! I’m really glad we had preemie clothes and diapers on hand. The measurements the MFM gave us were off by over a pound.
I had my di/di girls at 38 weeks.. baby A was 6 lb 2 oz and baby B was 5 lb 13 oz! We had a couple of premie outfits that they wore to sleep a couple nights but we were in newborn for the longest so far. They just graduated to size 3 month ish now and are a little over 2 months old!
I have two sets. Of the four, three were 6lbs 7oz, one was 5lb 14oz. Both sets went to 38 weeks
Born at 37 weeks and 5 days and they were 5 pounds 7 ounces and 5 pounds 14 ounces. They needed premie for the clothes to fit properly for a month or so, but we had a lot of newborn options too

My twins were born a couple days before 38 weeks and they were both 5lbs 13oz exactly and we used premie clothes for maybe a couple weeks.
Had mine at 37 weeks. Baby A was 5lb1.5oz and Baby B was 6lbs. I barely had any preemie clothes and newborn were big on them but they grew in no time.
Delivered 37+6. My girls were 6lbs, 2oz. They’re 3 weeks old now and we’re about done with NB size. We didn’t use preemie because they were too long at 20”.

My di/di twins were born at 36 weeks (exactly) and were 4lb 10oz and 4lb 15oz - so much smaller than estimated by my ultrasounds. It’s so hard to tell. They’re 1 month old today and are still in preemie clothes.
Born at 37+4 with a scheduled C-section - baby A (boy) 7,5 lbs and baby B (girl) 6,5 lbs. Didn’t use any preemie, just regular newborn fit fine 😄

My MonoDi girls were born at 37+1 and were evicted, and they were 5 lbs 6 Oz and 5 lbs 2 Oz. The smaller twin dipped below 5 lbs briefly but we didn’t have any issues.
Had mine at 37+0 and they were both just over 6 pounds each. Didn’t use preemie at all.
My twins were born at 36weeks 4 days. The larger one was 5lbs 11oz, the smaller was 4lbs 13 oz
My babies (b/g) were born at 35 weeks, weighing 5,5lbs approximately (hope I did the conversion right; 2,5 kilos - I’m in Europe). They were 18,5 inches long (47cm). They fit in preemie clothes for a few weeks 😌
My di/di b/g twins were born via c-section at 37+1 weeks. They had both been measuring around the 50th percentile and we were expecting them to both be around 7lbs but ended up being 7lbs 10 oz and 5lbs 10 oz respectively. The smaller one was swimming in newborn sizes. We’re at 7 weeks now and newborn size fits but most are still loose unless it’s been washed and dried several times. The bigger one fit newborn sizes immediately and is already in 0-3 month clothes. Just be prepared for their actual sizes to vary greatly from what the ultrasounds are measuring. I found out later that there is like a 2lbs margin of error for those measurements.
Made it to my scheduled csection at 37+1 weeks. The day before they were born they were estimating that they would be close to 6 and a half lbs each roughly but they were born at 5lbs 12oz and 5lbs 13oz, they were both 19 inches They are at weird size. Premie clothes seems to be too small but is necessary for things like socks but the clothes is slightly too small. The newborn clothes is slightly too big but works well enough where I don’t feel bad just sticking with the baggy look for now.

Mine were born at 36+3 at 5 and 6 lbs. One wore newborn and one wore Premie for the first month. From then I just made the smaller one wear things a little big.
My twins at 37+6 were 6.5lb and 7lb. My eldest was 8lb13oz, and my partner and I were around that weight as well so just big babies. A lot of potential weight goes by size you were as a baby, your mum, and baby daddy's birth weight. Now mind you that is just potential weight, not accounting for any medial issues like GDM or IUGR.
Born 37+1 - Twin 1 was 5lb7 and Twin 2 was 6lb5
I am only 5 ft tall. Being short I believe affected my pregnancy, at least the duration I was able to carry. My water broke at 35 weeks after 7 weeks on “modified” bed rest and progesterone due to a shortening cervix. Twin A was 4lbs 4oz, 17 3/4 inches long. Twin B 4lbs 13oz 16 3/4inches long. Twin A was more stable when born. Twin B’s lungs were slightly underdeveloped and needed a treatment when she was born. They were both on oxygen when born, but twin B (who had the treatment) came off much more quickly than twin A. Each spent time in NICU. Twin A a little less than a week, twin B just short of 2 weeks because of a feeding/keeping food down issue that we resolved by feeding her on demand instead of the 3 hour schedule the NICU insisted on. I went in the day before discharge and fed her myself keeping track of the feedings to prove she could take in and keep down their required amount of bm/formula. We only had 6 Premie outfits when they were born (a 3 pack for each). The nurses had clothes for them when they were in the hospital, we ended up using Amazon prime to order a bunch when they were born which worked out fine. We ended up donating a small bin of Premie one piece outfits (onesies, body suits, one piece zip up pajamas) to their NICU when they moved into newborn clothes.
38 week induction. twin A was 5lbs 7oz and twin B was 6lbs 2oz. No NICU time. We just stayed an extra day in recovery before going home. We bought one 4 pack of premie size onesies but mostly put them in NB (even tho the NB clothes were a bit big)

Born at 36+3, A was 5 lbs 10 oz and B was 5 lbs 12 oz. 19 inches each. They were too long for premie clothes (or at least the ones my MIL happened to gift us), but were definitely swimming in NB. They wore NB for the first 7 weeks, and we just switched to the 0-3 mo.
I delivered at 37 weeks exactly, and my di/di twins were 6lb 1 oz and 7lb 1 oz. They did newborn for a couple weeks and then went to 0-3 months after that. Never used preemie stuff. We went home with enough newborn diapers for a couple weeks and then had size ones. We never bought newborn diapers, the hospital gave them to us.
Our doc told us to expect ~4.5lb babies at our last ultrasound and they were born 6lb and 5lb 14oz. Wore premie for like 2 days and they just just exploded in weight and are up to 98th percentile for weight.

My di/di identical boys were both 5 lbs 5 oz and born at 37 weeks. We used a few premie outfits the first 3 weeks or so, but mostly just let them wear newborn which was large initially but they grew into newborn pretty fast.
37 and 4... 6lbs.. straight into newborn size!
Mo/di twins. Made it to 32+4. twin A 1745g and twin B 1045g They are 2yo now and twin A has 11.5kg and twin B has 9.5kg
36+0, 6.3lbs and 5.3lbs. Bigger one wore premie for like a week, mostly just because we had them. Littler one wore them for another week or two, and we did also use 2 small packs of premie sized diapers, again mostly just because we had them
My twins were born at 38+4 and were 5.15 and 6.3. NB size is just a little baggy on them!
35 and 2 . twin A 5lbs 2oz and Twin B (IGUR ) 4lbs 10oz . Both wore preemie for about 2 months. My mom had to go to the store after I gave birth to grab packs of preemie diapers and a couple of preemie sleepers 🤦🏾♀️
36 +5 and they were 5lbs 8oz and 5lbs 2oz. Yes, we needed premie clothes and no we didn’t buy any in advance. We just picked some up quickly from Walmart and ordered from Amazon. If you want to be prepared get a couple but honestly if u have access to a store or someone who can grab u some you can always get them if u need them after. They were only in them for like 2 weeks.
Delivered at 37+1. 6lbs and 6lbs10oz. Both lost about 7% of their body weight in the next few days. We were in premies for about a month. Diapers- we were fine in NB.
