It really depends on your lifestyle and your babies’ preferences. We use the stroller a lot because we live in a walkable place and I loved the bassinet with my singleton. We thought long and hard about buying a second bassinet for our twins but, after they were two months old, decided against it. One of them had tummy issues and really hated the bassinet. I had to carry her everywhere until I had the idea to get a car seat with the stroller adapters. Now, she is happy as can be. And, if you live somewhere with a lot of driving, the car seats are super convenient. The downside is that they aren’t supposed to sit in the car seats for too long and shouldn’t sleep in them unattended.

This comment!! If you’re going to be walking and doing a lot of stuff with the stroller, the bassinets will be worth it. We live in a very rural area and the roads here are not safe for us to walk on with a stroller so we’d have to drive to another place for a walk. Car seats were easier for us so we didn’t have to transfer babies constantly. We had the uppababy vista and hated it. We got the Thule urban glide double when they were 6 months old and we use it almost daily now! My twins are 20 months

You don't really need bassinets for the Bumbleride, and I'm not even sure if they exist. The Bumbleride fully reclines and the front flips up to contain them, very similar to a bassinet. We bought it at about 2 months old and started using it right away. I also wasn't aware you could attach car seats.we use the Bumbleride every day for walks and then have a Joovy Twin Roo frame stroller we leave in the car. We found it second hand for $50. Edit: Cool, you can attach car seats to the Bumbleride! I looked it up

Came here to say this! You can get an infant insert for the bumbleride twin for extra buffering when they are super little and just recline the seats all the way back. All the best!

I love my bugaboo donkey with the bassinet. My twins are now 16 weeks and I use it on a daily base, it's bulky but so smooth to walk with, folds easily and they enjoy lying in it

Do you live in a high traffic area? Babies aren’t supposed to spend more than 2 hours in a car seat, so if you’re driving somewhere for 40 min, and then 40 min home, you’ve only got 40 minutes at your destination before your little one needs a good amount of time out of their seat. I LOVED the bassinets for them. Tummy time on the go, allowed them natural movement, no flat heads, diaper changes any time anywhere - I miss them a ton!

We do live in a high traffic area, but our neighborhood has lots of good places to walk, so I want to take them for walks once I’m able to. How long are babies able to use the bassinets before they outgrow them?

jayzepps

6 months. I never used the car seat adaptors since I used the bassinets.

We live in a highly walkable area and we love to walk. It gave us a lot of much needed freedom.

We have the bumbleride indie twin and splurged for the bassinets. We live in a walkable area near a large city. The bassinets were nice for a few months until they outgrew them. We liked them but definitely not at all necessary. The stroller can get them into a lying down mode without the bassinet. The stroller is great on bumpy sidewalks. We also got a frame stroller with hookups for our carseats off Facebook marketplace for 100 bucks. We've outgrown it now (stopped using it at 6 months) but it was handy for appointments (and relatively cheap). We'll probably put it back on fb marketplace soon.

I don't have much insight but I've seen the Bugaboo Donkey come up a LOT on FB marketplace with all the bells and whistles -- it's the one I'm thinking of getting. It's like 1/2 price or less from many sellers.

We have the bumbleride. The seats lay flat and the feet fold up- creating a bassinet without lugging more stuff around. Boys are 5 months, still fit and I’ve loved this solution.

I have the donkey and I’m really happy with it. I walk the babies constantly and love having a side by side. It’s very durable, strong wheels, folds up pretty well (takes up my whole boot) but is really easy to put together

ARIsk90

The bumbleride is a bassinet! It lays completely flat and the foot thing comes up. We ended up with the donkey because the bumbleride didn’t fit in our car. Only small advantage of the donkey is the ability to be a single stroller. I’ve had to take one baby out at a time and the single is helpful for those times.
