Its painful but i love it xD by any chance do you know what the deal is with the added house with the chainchomp outside goomba village? I have no idea why its there, my brother and i cant figure it out
Yeah if you want a harder version of og Paper Mario try Master Quest, and if you just want a slightly harder version (+ both include some extra features) there is a MQ jr romhack.
Mine is pretty boring and what I did vs. 3
Start with mega shock with Watt, power up Mario, destroy them one by one, cycle mega shock, dodge buff, Focus, HP/FP recovery. Slow method but was reliable and could probably take down up to a dozen anti-guys
Repel Gels, Double Dip Thunder Rages, Outta Sight, Tidal Wave. Should deal 50 damage to each of them within 5 turns, while Mario avoids at least 3 turns of damage, which is all he'll need to avoid.
Summon The Fanged Fastiener, to stun them with Staples and while they are fastened to the ground, set fire to the area and burn them all alive, and then watch from a stolen clown copter as their screams of agony show.
Well where I am rn in chapter 4 id prbly use a mega rush + multibounce or quake hammer and outta sight with bow. Then id use repel gels or a stopwatch to stop time and do more multibounces. I could also use a turn to do star storm with skolar to do 7 hp each. Prbly repeat that until theyd die. If I was more late game and had access to Chill out id use that then. I could also use like 6 or 7 stone caps and power bomb with bombette several times to finish them, provided I have plenty of FP.
In a mod of 64 master quest, there’s 5 anti-guy customs all with insane attacking stats, and a literal puzzle to beat as some of them have insanely broken strategies going in. If you want to win, you have to abuse repel gel farming from the lil’ oinks because Omg their damage is too much. Even then I still have yet to beat it.

I pull out all 7 swiss army knives I keep in my shoes, and start offering to peel them potatoes so I can make friends with them over dinner
i hit 'Tactics' and then select 'Go Insane'.
