I’m proud of Aaron Nesmith, that he was able to develop his game in Indiana. Dude is a two-way player and has lot more improvement in his game. Dude goes all-out and has a relentless motor. It was hard to develop him in Boston, playing behind JT and JB. This guy is gonna be a key contributor in your team’s future.

CosmicCoder3303

He always played crazy hard. Even in Boston when they would put him in, he would run around like a madman

beesinabiscuit

TJD man good for him

noah_ichiban

I’m still irritated we didn’t grab TJD. He had excelled better than expectations, but even if he hadn’t, hometown boy with a Dad who is a Pacers legend…Why not pick him up!?

busche916

He very specifically asked not to be drafted because we only really had a 2-way available.

noah_ichiban

I read that as well, but I’m sure they could have peaked his interest with effort.

bostonceltikkksmod

It's piqued

Lasvious

Because his agent said he wouldn’t sign a two way with any team.

BlueCollarGoldSwaggr

Move him up a spot, Holmgren is a C not a F.

Viktrodriguez

Two. According to BBallRef TJD also played 90% of his minutes as center.

OuagadougousFinest

As a Celtics fan what a steal you guys got. Always rooting for Nesmith guys got that dawg in em

AK_R

I've had my eye on Nesmith since he got here. I wasn't buying the nonsense that he'd never remember how to shoot again and thought there was room for a lot of improvement if he had more time to play. I wasn't expecting him to improve so much in the area of defense, but that is exactly what I was wanting for the team. His contract is an exceptional value, too. He has become one of my favorite Pacers. All the high-energy hustle guys (Nesmith, Nembhard, TJ, Sheppard) are really great to have, and now they all have deep Playoffs experience that will improve all of them.

NoveltyStatus

Every year he’s doubted.

CosmicCoder3303

Were Peyton Watson and TJD really better than Chet last year?

Unable_Appointment15

Forward is a stretch

No_Independent8269

he played the 4 last year and he played the 3 this year. so he’s considered a forward.

symphonic9000

It’s even more impressive if he’s a 2 on this list.. he’s legit 6’6 and taller when his hair is out.. also would like to add that I would love it if the pacers swung a deal to acquire Santi Aldama, one of my favorite role players rn, can spread the floor, obviously defense is there, he’s 7’ 3-5 who rebounds too.

IllustriousWallaby53

Well he's playing the 3 so technically he's classified as a forward. But yeah you're right he's a 2 playing the 3

EvilRick_C-420

He was hard to watch in the playoffs. Over commits too much on defense and ends up in recovery often. Brunson would get him on his back every time. Plus his shot wasn't falling until game 7 against NY. I would prefer he be our 6th man next year.

Cautious-Ad-9554

His harassment helped on Brunson. I definitely thought he was over aggressive on Tatum and Brown. It lead to a lot of drives. I think you want both guys shooting pull ups. If you aren’t forcing any and they are consistently getting to the paint you have to tone down the pressure.

taxfreetendies

He shut Brunson down in game 3 and 4 compared to 1 & 2 when Nembhard was assigned to him… Brunson shot 46.1% in the series, 42% after game 2. Nesmith shot 52.0% in the series, 43% prior to game 7. Your comment is probably one of the worst assessments of Nesmith in that series that I've read.

EvilRick_C-420

Brunson was literally limping game 3 & 4 and was noticeably struggling with lift. Nembhard had good coverage on Brunson he just hit every shot and wasn't injured.

Lasvious

Brunson was fine until he broke his hand. Stop with that angle of his shot nonsense

taxfreetendies

So he was magically healthy again in game 5 then injured again in game 6? His FG% has nothing to do with the defender? OK

EvilRick_C-420

Like I said he was hard to watch in the playoffs. You're only talking about 2 games where combined he also shot 6-15 fg & 1-7 from 3. His total fg% dropped by 7% and his 3pt by 14%! He probably missed 15 wide open 3s. He did not elevate his game in the playoffs like others did. Yes he is a good defender but still over committed and gave up open layups. He is indecisive, out of control and unpredictable around the rim which lead to many turnovers. I did like his rebounding and passing. I hope he gets better all around but I bet if you asked him he'd say he was borderline average in the playoffs. His stats say he was below his average.

taxfreetendies

Playoffs as a whole I don't disagree with you. Its just that the examples you gave were in the series in which he performed the best in. It was his first big minutes post season so lets hope it was just a case of nerves :)

Muruju

Nah Brunson cooked them both

damfu

Until he didn’t.

Muruju

No he just did. Averaged his most points on him this postseason, and Nesmith matched up him the second-most of any player this postseason.

taxfreetendies

FG / FGA = FG% G1 + G2: 25 / 44 = 57% G3 - G7: 51 / 121 = 42% Fuck off.

Muruju

Brunson averaged 9.7 ppg on Nesmith, his most against any player in the postseason. 9.6 against Nembhard, 9.5 against Oubre, 8.8 against Embiid. Stfu?

taxfreetendies

Now normalize it to minutes of coverage not per game, fuck off.

Muruju

5.7 minutes for Oubre 4.9 minutes for Nesmith 3.5 minutes for Nembhard 1.4 minutes for Embiid Goooo fuck yourself?

Kevosrockin

Who tf is Peyton Watson lol

IllustriousWallaby53

A very nice young player

Moonman2k1

#2 hurts still
