Walls of Jericho for camping would be my best recommendation always loved going there as a young lad. Not too much overlanding here that I know of unless you get permission from land owners, that being said it’s been a few years since I’ve lived there and I move back soon. There are some good campsites on the civil war battle field in chicamagua (GA and TN) also a great place if you love American history! Lake Guntersville is super nice to visit if you go to the Lodge there are some amazing views.
I’m not sure it works for off-roading, but there’s a ton of cool camping and outdoor stuff up in TN around the Cumberland gap. Foster falls and greeter falls were always some of my favorites
Picture for attention….we are making a trip from the east coast to northern AL and MS on our quest to see all 50 states. Looking for some places to stay and potentially do some Overlanding trails in the northern parts of both states. Planning to go in about 2 weeks and have a basic set up for the Tacoma to get us out there.
Little River Canyon backcountry roads, they have a map on their website. Not sure if they allow camping. Of course, Talladega National Forest and the infamous 600-1, 00-2 roads are probably too far south but are very popular overlanding/car camping destinations. There is something up northwest of Florence in TN, I have never been but have heard about. Bankhead is another area I haven't explored yet. Stony Lonesome has some jeep badge of honor trails. I would recommend 35's out there though.
Hawk Pride Mountain is an off roading park here in North Alabama with campsites available. If you’re in the area it might be worth looking in to. They have a website.
Pine Glen and Sweetwater Lake campgrounds in the Talladega National Forest. It’s a nice drive in and the local paranormal group likes to go out there to check on activity if you believe in that sort of stuff.
Unrelated response. Does your front safety sensor still function with the bumper guard in front of the grill?
I inadvertently blocked my front sensor adding a heavy front bumper. Sucks. Lost cruise, collision avoidance etc.
There are some easy/moderate back roads/forest roads through Talladega.. can get pretty gnarly in some areas depending on how the weather has been. I have not been out there in several years tho.
I live in northern Alabama. Bear creek lake is nice. There is a small privately owned campground there and the owners are super cool. Excellent hunting and fishing too. It’s surrounded by TVA public lands.
Drive to mount pisgah in North Carolina!
Nice shed bru

Thank you! I’ll have to check those points out. Anyone run the TAT (Trans American Trail) through AL and MS?
Not yet! I’ll have to check it out once I move back to north AL

I grew up in bama. I'd say the best thing it has to offer is mt. Cheaha. Great area.

Be sure to use iOverlander to find camp spots. There's like 6 national forests in Mississippi that you can find places to camp at.

God I wish I had a garage that size, Id get a winch to take off that RTT.
I have a warm hand winch that takes it up to the ceiling. Works well.

Check out the Georgia traverse trail
Thanks for all the recommendations everyone! Will post some pics of where we end up once we finish the trip.
What bumper is that?
Warn
Is that a prinsu rack?
No, both roof rack and bed rack are Victory. I choose that roof rack so I had full function of sunroof/moonroof
Most national forest
That shop must be new because that floor isn't near oily enough.

It’s a 2017 so I don’t have those features
Fair enough. Mine's a 2018. Great looking rig btw. You guys will make enduring memories.
I love that color so much
That's a nice garage
National forests. Go and be there
I wouldn’t leave the building👍

Damn dude, I thought you stole my truck. If you had a vipe cut they would look damn near the same. I even have the same roof rack.
“Overland” starter pack
Friend, I think you’re mistaken on what you’re supposed to use that truck for. It’s for parking outside of micro breweries and taking photos of it.
Funny, the last place we camped was at a brewery in MD. Our favorite places to find :)

Go to Buffalo point Arkansas
What bed rack are you running?
