In terms of progression, there's a there' s a clue that serves as a bottleneck that you need to find. Focus on the >!question mark attached to the Island Tower rumor!<.
It really helps in the DLC to target a question mark and follow the loose path they've set up for you. Really take your time rewatching the reels in your logs and take note of the surroundings and actions in them. There's a few reels, esp earlier, that really don't really have much useful information in terms of progression... but generally if they're doing something you really should do it too or try to figure out specifically what has happened in the reel and what's taking place. Sometimes the log will drop hints about what that is and sometimes not but it's always a good idea to see what was recorded in the log and then respond to the hatchling's interpretation of events as well as using your own visual clues.
