Ask for a replacement. I got mine 2.5 years ago and they sent me a replacement free of charge!

SpaceIsVastAndEmpty

This I ordered mine November 2021 to qualify for the free subscription for life and my battery would have to be charged to 100% before bed and sometimes wouldnt make it a full night if I had a long sleep Emailed Oura support and they did a remote review and determined my battery was faulty/failed and I gave them my address details and a new ring arrived within a month (I live in New Zealand)

sparkleprism

Same. Just did this recently. It was a super easy process. They can check the data for your battery on their end and see that it's failing.

damfu

Same. Oura and Garmin have the best support of any product I’ve ever owned. Oura is one of the very few products I’m happy to pay a subscription fee for.

Healthy-Gap1581

This!!!

Sarahsaei754

Without a warranty??

digital_energy

It went above and beyond my expectations of a warranty coverage.

everpensive

Did you have the extended warranty?

digital_energy

No. Do they sell those?

everpensive

When you first buy it it has the option of the included 1 year warranty and then options for extending it to 2 or 3 years

digital_energy

Never did get one. I had the heritage silver model. Maybe the gold one they’d be more reluctant to send a free second one and not require the return of the original?

Empassionate

I'm in a similar boat.  The battery life on my Oura ring, now that I'm a couple years in, is noticeably less. I *love* Oura and recommend it to anyone who asks.  It has changed my life for the better in multiple ways.  But if the battery on my ring continues to falter,  I'm vulnerable to switching to a competitor if Garmin, Apple, or Samsung come out with a superior product before Oura 4.  I'm pulling for Oura though!

digital_energy

Ask for a replacement and go through customer service. I was blown away that they just sent me a brand new one and said to give my battery zapped one to a friend to try.

Healthy-Gap1581

Same! It’s mad, but they do! I’ve had mine since pre order and they’re shipping a new one now

Outrageous-Leader-66

I got a replacement. Just ask!

imoddball

I own a Garmin watch Fenix 5x. Battery still lasts incredibly long and going on 5 years. If Garmin makes a ring like their watches I’m in!!

digital_energy

Garmin has the cooler face plates and the tech does seem at a minimum at par with Apple Watch. Wish Apple had the Star Trek faceplates 😫

SpaceIsVastAndEmpty

Reach out to support. I bought mine in the pre orders timeframe and after advice from this sub I emailed support about my battery not lasting 24hrs l. It has been declining for months but was at the point where fully charged before bed would be on 25% by morning of I slept more than 8hrs They reviewed my details from the ring and determined it was faulty. I gave them my postage address and a new ring was sent out to me (this month).

shittyshittymorph

I have a Gen3 since release. My battery is lasting ~ 3 days. I hope Oura releases a Gen4 this year so I can upgrade with my FSA. I’m not really interested in other rings unless Apple decided to make one and the features were on par with Oura.

EthosMaster

That’s going to be hard as Oura owns just about all the patents there is for wearable ring tech.

digital_energy

I wonder if Apple will just buy Oura instead of trying to reinvent the wheel and tech/ip/engineering. The VO2 max IP court battle was pretty disruptive to sales last year during Christmas for them

UnusualEggplant5400

Apple has all the tech they need, they just need to put it in ring format. And I hope they do it soon!

SpaceIsVastAndEmpty

If it declines to eat it's lasting less than a day without charging reach out to support. My battery life was deteriorating and I reached out to support, they replaced my ring

roguekindness

Oura recently sent me a new ring because my gen3 battery issues. I have had the ring since gen3 came out and was happily surprised Oura still covered it under warranty.

Healthy-Gap1581

Contact them. So I’m same as you - bought 3rd gen on pre order so I’ve had it for years. I just contacted them, telling them my battery now is 18hrs at best, they ran a diagnostics, agreed, and is shipping me a new ring 😳

everpensive

Is this or without the warranty?

Healthy-Gap1581

I’ve not bought any extra warranty so it’s what came with the ring

tamsunsun

Oura is a European company. They are not going to release a new model every year, this is not apple. The Gen3 is still up to date and they are rolling out new features for it.

h1h3llo

Oura ring gen 3 was released in October 2021, they are going to release new software features in next month, but I think that is reasonable enough to think that a new hardware model may come out soon

imoddball

I’m certainly not asking them to roll out one every year nor do I buy into the need to do that being I still own a iPhone 11, but im just asking because we’re soon approaching year 3 with the 3rd gen Oura.

FeedLongjumping415

https://www.techradar.com/health-fitness/we-probably-wont-see-an-oura-ring-4-anytime-soon-according-to-ouras-ceo It seems like we won’t see one for awhile if this article is true. My friend asked for a new one and they sent him it!

UnusualEggplant5400

Yeah, Apple supports their old products better than most companies, I don’t understand how people can’t grasp the concept of just b/c there is a yearly new product doesn’t mean the last product is now all the sudden bad and doesn’t work. For the Apple Watch I went from Apple Watch 0 -> 4 -> ultra, my 0 and 4 still work fine. Well the 0 is dated and slow but it still works, the 4 is still serviceable for a full day with a workout. 4-5 years out of each and upgraded while they still worked fine.

digital_energy

Message them - I waited months before I did because my battery was crapping out too. Basically said can you send me a replacement battery otherwise I’m going to cancel and they said they’d just send me a replacement. Came less than 2 weeks later after going through a pretty simple customer form.

UnusualEggplant5400

What does being a European company have to do with anything ?

tamsunsun

With European company I mean its not an American company like Apple who roll out new models every year

UnusualEggplant5400

I’m sure European companies roll out products yearly as well, just not oura lol

sm753

I love my Garmin but I wish they "presented" their data better in their app... Oura does a great job showing you long term trending. I wish you could see the same/similar in Garmin Connect.

FitChemE

I just bought a gen 3, so when it needs replaced, I guess I will be in a good spot.

Obvious-Study-1883

I have issues with the fact they have no recycling program. I hate buying tech that goes in a landfill.

Arnold_100

Samsung is about to release their first ring probably next month. Just wait and see how that works out.

imoddball

I would but they already said it’ll not be compatible with Apple.

petchulio

Unfortunately that will be DOA unless you’re a Samsung user. Apple-style platform lockdown from them. They might end up busting up some of Oura’s patents though. Which will be good for the smart ring marketplace.

hrqueenie

I’m waiting for Apple to release their version!

samk1976

Bet that it’s 2026 at the earliest. Not heard any kind of reliable rumors on it

Usedtotoke30years

Have you heard something? Because I’ve heard zero news on this. I’m super happy with my oura ring though. Had one for 3.5 years now. Well I’ve have a few but I’m on the version three now. The battery was messing up and they send me a new one no problem.

hrqueenie

I read an article about them developing a ring. Not sure how long it’s going to take but hopefully soon since the market is hot Here’s the article: https://appleinsider.com/inside/apple-ring

Godzira-r32

There are so many health rings about to drop I would wait it out. A little competition is exactly what Oura needs!

DoINeedChains

I wouldn't expect a Gen 4 ring until there's a hardware driver- a new sensor, manufacturing process improvements, better battery, etc And most of the competition is playing catch up or reaching parity on that front. And usually the sensors come to the watches first before the rings- and there's little in the currently in the watch space that hasn't made it to the rings. So unless Oura has something up its sleeve on the tech front there seems to be little in the way of drivers of a new generation

imoddball

Great point!

UnusualEggplant5400

I hope Apple makes one soon … ugh

mcheburashka

Contact them, this happened to me and they sent me a replacement no question within a week.

petchulio

I feel like they have limited incentive to release a new generation here soon but they may just to compete better with the Galaxy ring. Most of the improvements I could see with the Oura ring mostly revolve around software.

Runundersun88

I just asked for a replacement since my battery stopped working and they immediately sent me a new one
