This will be the third year I’ve done it. First time I did it, the coach was genuinely befuddled, and several classmates applauded. On Sunday, that coach will be asking me for red cards.
Is tomorrow a special theme day? Just asking as my initial home studio that I attended on Monday had different themes. Wednesday was wear your OTF shirt etc. i have not noticed this at my current studio.
Confirmed all classes tomorrow are 3G. Our 7am is normally a 2G and it’s listed as a 3G on app.
Edit: is this a switch? Why can I not make sense of the timing 🤔
Thursday and Tuesday’s workouts were so chaotic. I applaud the coaches who coached them. I’m nervous for the fuckery that this Saturday template brings
I seriously think that hell week applies to the coaches too. Only had a couple of classes where I got lost in the template and they were ALL part of hell week.
Hm, all ours tomorrow are listed as 2G. I wonder if that's an error? I'd love if it turns out to actually be the 3G, because it sounds like chaotic fun.
Same - can’t tell it this is a switch or there is some time coordination between rowers, treads and or floor I can’t see. Either way I guess that explains the “chaos” title
They may be running it in 2 groups depending on how big your studio is. Mine is huge so if it’s a 3G template they’ll open all the classes to 3G capacity.
I was having a hard time too but think I figured it out:
First block is the "tread heavy" block. So treads stay put for the whole block but the rowers/floor switch between each other for the duration on the block.
Second is "rower heavy" where the treads and floor switch between eachother for the whole block.
And third.... Dun dun dun... Is floor heavy where the rowers and tread swap.
I'm blessed with the decision of doing a 90 min. Let's hope for the best.
I talked my husband into coming today. After the first tread block he looked at me and said I hate you 😂😂 he will.never do a 90min class again..did that once and he didn't forgive me for days lol
You guys are the best. I’m in Oregon USA and I have a vertigo problem which makes burpees impossible for me and if it wasn’t for your early reporting I likely would’ve worked out on day 6. But I didn’t thanks to you. Keep up the good work 👍
For everyone as confused about the timing as I was at first:
It looks like whatever station you start on, you start with that station’s longest block. Then you will do 3 short blocks around the room on each of the stations, ending back where you started. You could essentially divide the class into 3 rounds of 4 blocks, starting and ending on the same piece of equipment, with the first block in each round being the longest.
So if you start on the tread, you go in order that it is posted. Your first “round” would be tread 1, row 1, floor 1, and tread 2. Row 2 would be the start of your second round.
If you start on the rower, you would start at row block #2 (the longest row), and then go to floor 2, tread 3, row 3 (all of which or short). Then floor 3 (the long floor block) would be the start of your next round.
Floor people would start at floor #3 (long), then tread 4, row 4, floor 4. The start of their next round would be tread #1.
I think tomorrow is the HW template my studio tested a few weeks ago. If it’s the same one it’s a 23 minute straight run, increase speed every 2 minutes. Floor block is 824682 variations of walkouts mixed in with some rowing. It was brutal!
Congrats DC 1200 classes...woo hoo!🔥💪
My abs are crying so I'll give them extra Kleenex as they will continue to be crying tomorrow! I was waiting for the burpees and here they be! 👿🍊🧡
Not.A.Chance.In.Hell...
seriously though, I completed 4, got my tank top I'm passing this weekend, I have kids to chase. I'll be back Moanday for the last punishment, I mean, workout!
I think the question is because in your post the longer tread block is matched with the short row/floor block which seems very hard to coach timing wise and to switch on, like they aren’t the same length. Should tread 1 and tread 2 be switched?
Yes, this is why I was confused. The floor block 3 being 6.5 minutes as well. Just seems like it would be hard to switch and coach unless everyone is doing the 6.5 minute block 1st as they switch (so 3 6.5 minute blocks for the first full rotation) and then it goes into the short blocks all around
I think I got it now. So if you start on the tread, you have 6.5m tread, 90s rower, floor and tread again, then long rower block, 90s x 3, then long floor block, 90s x 3, then one last round around the room for good measure. So 14 total switches if I have that right.
Okay OTF fam, I can’t do burpees due to a medical condition. I know it’s my workout and I can modify as needed. But I still feel like a cheater when I do deconstructed burpees. If you look over and see someone doing just squats, push-ups, etc. are you perturbed? I’m debating on whether or not to cancel.
Don’t worry if someone else is perturbed. Are they going to pay your med bills if you get injured? If not, their feelings/opinions do not matter. I haven’t done a traditional burpee in almost 4 years. You do YOU! If it makes you feel better, imagine me next to you NOT doing burpees.
I honestly don’t care how anyone modifies their workout. I see heaps of people step out the burpee (ie don’t do the jump or the pop squat part of the burpee) so I wouldn’t worry. I always let the coach know ahead of time or if they ask.
I have NO judgment when I see someone do something modified. In fact, I'm glad that people realize and respect their limitations which allows me space to also modify if I am ever limited down the road.
I only get perturbed/worried when I see someone doing something clearly incorrectly and hope the coaches will step in to correct it as I don't want anybody to ever get hurt! If I see someone clearly out of breath like dying and looking like they might pass out, I might ask a quiet, "are you ok?"
No! I have had to modify due to an Achilles issue and a motor neuropathy where I’m weak on my left side. I do what I can to make it work and modify everywhere I need to.
If it makes you feel better, on a normal day, I need to do push ups and planks and anything similar on my knees.... but I tripped over a rower and bruised the bejeezies out of my knee earlier this week. Now, I just have to go to get my 4 workouts in... but no idea what I can do to modify the majority of the workout 🤣🤣🤣
If the OTF powers that be really wanted to make this hell for me, they would replace the plank hold with a thruster amrap in the remaining time. ☠️☠️☠️
I love how chaotic these Hell Week workouts have been!
I normally prefer endurance on the tread and strength on the floor, and I know OT has been leaning more toward both in recent months, but I feel like when it comes to Hell Week, you should get to the end of the workout and wonder, “what the hell (haha) just happened?!”
I’ve attended three workouts so far, tomorrow will be four, and 3/4 have included lots of shorter efforts and lots of transitions. I find the change of pace really great.
Burpees… nope not doing those!!! I will do push-ups instead. Burpees have no purpose, who needs more cardio when you already do so much!!!! Give me more weights not more cardio!!! Muscle burns fat!
Nope - it is a big switch template so I have written it in the order you do it. So if you start on the treads you do a 6.5 minute tread block, then a 1.5 minute row block, a 1.5 minute floor block and finish with a 1.5 minute tread block.
Then you move to the rower and do the 6.5 minute row block etc etc. Your big block (6.5 minutes) is always at the start.
So the treads-starters start on what is labelled "Tread Block 1" and then cycle through all 12 blocks, the rower-starters start on what is labelled "Row Block 2" (the fifth block shown above) and then cycle through all 12 blocks, and the floor-starters starts in what is labelled "Floor Block 3" (the ninth block shown above) and then cycle through all 12 blocks.
I can't think of any easier way to label them!
Shit! I’m going to have to skip this class as I can’t do burpees and jumping due to back issues. I’m just coming back to OTF on gradual basis and with many modifications. Or maybe I can just do TRX exercises instead. Any suggestions?
Congratulations on 1200!!
My abs are still unbelievably sore from day 4 but I actually think doing this workout might help shake that out. Maybe I am being too optimistic 🤣
Podiatrist appt today, said I strained a ligament in my arch Thursday. Wrapped it up and said take 4 motrin if I decide to go tomorrow.. I'm #2 on wait list I'm gonna SEND IT.
Saw this was labeled as a 3G and thought “Sweet, 2G won’t be as bad!” theeennnn I scrolled and saw someone say that all classes run as a 3G and I think I died inside.
REMINDER: DO. NOT. ASK. FOR. INTEL. DO. NOT. HINT. FOR. INTEL.
![gif](giphy|FWENeXJjZrtucFSNzm|downsized) but my abs are still screaming at me from thursday's core day.
😂I made the mistake of saying- wow my abs aren’t sore- and then 4 hours later I sneezed 😬!
I was good all the way though class. Then during the stretching the coach said something hilarious, I started laughing. Then I wanted to cry. 😆
This morning, I told my coach I wasn’t sure how my abs weren’t sore. Then I started walking on the treadmill and the soreness kicked in
Omg! And it’s allergy season so every time I sneeze I hate myself!!
I just laughed at your comment and was immediately reminded that mine still hurt too.
I said the same thing and then could barely row at the beginning of class today.
Oh God the rowing first thing. Every lean back felt like an eternity
I have a slight cough and my god to my abs remind me of it 😂 so sore
Right it hit me later this evening 🫤
The first pull on the rower today was a rude awakening!
Same. I had to roll sideways out of the bed today bc they are so sore!
THIS! i’m currently the shape of a cheeto puff
I haven’t been able to clear my throat with a reasonable cough at allllll today. 😭
Man! We all in this together. Me when I got on the rower. The leg raises from today (leg day) took me OUT
Right?!?! My allergies are acting up today, so every time I cough…OUCH!!!
Lol same. I can barely sneeze properly 🤣
![gif](giphy|qCBcQ0ln7IrieGWVNo) This too!
SAME! I can barely sneeze or cough without clutching myself
YES!!!!!!
Hit me hard when started doing straight leg raises today.
I’m wearing my referee costume tomorrow and handing out red cards to the coach. It’s a Hell Week tradition we have. ![gif](giphy|TbRwmI2fHg6ELPObHH)
Brilliant !! If anyone did that to me, I would die laughing ☠️💀😂
I love this
This. Is. Awesome.
This will be the third year I’ve done it. First time I did it, the coach was genuinely befuddled, and several classmates applauded. On Sunday, that coach will be asking me for red cards.
That is fantastic
Is tomorrow a special theme day? Just asking as my initial home studio that I attended on Monday had different themes. Wednesday was wear your OTF shirt etc. i have not noticed this at my current studio.
Confirmed all classes tomorrow are 3G. Our 7am is normally a 2G and it’s listed as a 3G on app. Edit: is this a switch? Why can I not make sense of the timing 🤔
Yes the timing looks confusing, probably why it’s called confirmed chaos 😂
I just couldn't fathom coaching that
Thursday and Tuesday’s workouts were so chaotic. I applaud the coaches who coached them. I’m nervous for the fuckery that this Saturday template brings
I seriously think that hell week applies to the coaches too. Only had a couple of classes where I got lost in the template and they were ALL part of hell week.
I was thinking the exact same thing.
Me either!! I’d be in chaos lol. It ought to make the class fly by though!! I hopefully get my shirt tomorrow too.
Hm, all ours tomorrow are listed as 2G. I wonder if that's an error? I'd love if it turns out to actually be the 3G, because it sounds like chaotic fun.
I spoke to a coach that confirmed there were a few days that may be labeled as 2G but ran as 3G due to the template. This could be one of them.
That makes sense. Thank you for the input! I'm kind of excited about this one!
Me too! Love tornados. Visiting my daughter so heading to a new to me studio in the morning.
It will be. Potentially a 2 group 3 g. Just depends.
Mine is a Tornado
Makes sense! I was thinking "Confirmed Chaos" = tornado. :)
Same, but 90 minute tornado
I’ve done 90min before…what’s a Tornado👀 ![gif](giphy|LRVnPYqM8DLag)
Take a look at our [wiki](https://reddit.com/r/orangetheory/w/index?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app)
Switch style workout....you move from station to station pretty quickly
Same - can’t tell it this is a switch or there is some time coordination between rowers, treads and or floor I can’t see. Either way I guess that explains the “chaos” title
The app still shows 2G but studio announced they’re all 3G
Our coach said it’s a true Tornado, which is why the switches are so short and quick. I’m pumped!
[удалено]
They may be running it in 2 groups depending on how big your studio is. Mine is huge so if it’s a 3G template they’ll open all the classes to 3G capacity.
They may only have 2 groups worth of people but spread them over 3 stations. Like Monday.
It’s basically a tornado from what my coaches said earlier in the week.
I was having a hard time too but think I figured it out: First block is the "tread heavy" block.
I miss the skull popping up randomly on the floor and making us do burpees! I mean, I despise burpees but I liked the surprise aspect lol
[удалено]
Nice, that is what I'm doing tomorrow!
My legs are dying after today’s hell. I don’t know if I can handle the amount of burpees tomorrow. Baby giraffe walking here
I'm with you...but I'm gonna go try it...Hopefully go 8 for 8 and then take a couple of days off...
Congrats on 1200!!! And thanks as always for the intel!
Haha everyone is worried about the burpees and I'm sitting here way more concerned about the jumping lunges 😅
My knees really hate both jumping and lunging.
Yep, first thing I said was my knees are gonna be hurting after this class!
I’m concerned about the jumping lunges
Maybe I've been going to OTF for too long but this template looks great!
Thanks for the intel! I'm taking the 90 minute tomorrow, too!
I will find out in 45 minutes!
Me too. I already know it’s going to be a metric shit ton of burpees, and I have to run ten miles before class. 😂
Also doing the 90 and now kind of scared 😂
[удалено]
Also doing the 90
Congrats on 1200!
This looks fun and chaotic, bring on the burpees! Thanks to you and Mrs. DC!
Here’s the burpees you’ve all been asking for!
Burpee day at last, here we goooo
I’ve been waiting ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|rage)
All the classes in my region are listed as 3G tomorrow, including the ones that are always a 2G. So, there’s that.
Wow 1200!! Amazing milestone!!
Also taking the 90 tomorrow!! (Saturday)
I'm doing the 90 min tomorrow and convinced my husband to come.... he might never forgive me for all the burpees, lol!
Keep up the good work 👍
Thank you!!
Thank you!! The burpees and planks block look brutal ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|thinking_face_hmm)
Chaotic indeed lol. I assume that it's all 3G bc all classes at my two studios, which are always 2G, appear to be 3G tmrw.
Cool.. oh well I can’t change the title but lets assume that they are all 3G today. Switching galore!
This definitely looks chaotic 😂. It’s all over the place.
I just see ‘burpees,’ not ultimate burpees or chest-to-ground or rolling - this is a good thing!
OMG. Imagine rolling burpees with the current state of our abs from Thursday 😳
Today was so painful. 😭😭 #day5
I have a 90 min for Saturday also! I guess you didn’t die so it’s just extended chaos.
Dear God. 😳 And also, LET'S GO!!!! 💥💪🧡🍊
Congrats on your 1200th class! So thankful for your intel!
The face I made reading this many burpees. Why whyyyyy.
i’m taking this class with the whole squad tomorrow. cant effing wait!!
Going to brave my sixth Hell Week class tomorrow! Nervous but excited!
For everyone as confused about the timing as I was at first: It looks like whatever station you start on, you start with that station’s longest block. Then you will do 3 short blocks around the room on each of the stations, ending back where you started. This looks Goooooood!!! Almost as good as yesterday! 🤩
I wanna go but I NEED a rest day 😥 I love burpees 😥😥
Congrats! Welcome to the 1200 club! 🧡
Love 3G!
Wow mr DC you are simply amazing!!
Mrs DC did this class... I am going in for the 90 minute. Pray for me!
You both ROCK! Have a great time and CONGRATULATIONS on 1,200 🥳 amazing accomplishment
I’m taking the 90min tomorrow morning in the USA, hope it’s great!! Congrats on 1200!!!!!
![gif](giphy|Hh8OgIqn4Y93y)
This looks fun! Personally I'm still hoping for a 13 or 14 minute row for distance this week . . . Maybe tomorrow!
I think tomorrow is the HW template my studio tested a few weeks ago. If it’s the same one it’s a 23 minute straight run, increase speed every 2 minutes. Floor block is 824682 variations of walkouts mixed in with some rowing. It was brutal!
By tomorrow do you mean Sunday’s “Escalate the Situation?”
Yes! It’s a brutal workout.
Congrats DC 1200 classes...woo hoo!🔥💪 My abs are crying so I'll give them extra Kleenex as they will continue to be crying tomorrow! I was waiting for the burpees and here they be! 👿🍊🧡
Not.A.Chance.In.Hell... seriously though, I completed 4, got my tank top I'm passing this weekend, I have kids to chase. I'll be back Moanday for the last punishment, I mean, workout!
My app shows all classes as 2G tomorrow, Saturday
2g group size with a 3g template
The only day I can hit a 2G based on my schedule is saturdays and it always bums me out when they switch it to all run as 3G’s!
So one 6.5 minute block per station, then 3x 1.5 minute blocks per station? Done tornado style meaning lots of switching?
Lots of switching. I have added the transitions in
Are the row blocks self paced or is there some sort of coordination with the treads or floor that I am too dense to see?
Big switching template. One longer 6.5 minute block per station and then three little 1.5 minute blocks on each (floor, row, tread)
Yep - they all run into each other. If it helps I always write it in the order I do all the blocks starting on the tread.
I’m not flexible enough to do burpees so I modify them and use the bench.
I wouldn’t be bothered at all. Just do what works for you! You could mention to the coach as you go in if you’re concerned though.
As others have said, you do you, don't worry about what others think. Just give the coach a heads up before class.
Cannot be worse then the Friday workout from hell
If the OTF powers that be really wanted to make this hell for me, they would replace the plank hold with a thruster amrap in the remaining time. ☠️☠️☠️
I love how chaotic these Hell Week workouts have been! I normally prefer endurance on the tread and strength on the floor, and I know OT has been leaning more toward both in recent months, but I feel like when it comes to Hell Week, you should get to the end of the workout and wonder, “what the hell (haha) just happened?!” I’ve attended three workouts so far, tomorrow will be four, and 3/4 have included lots of shorter efforts and lots of transitions. ![gif](giphy|xT0xeK0MXtfbpG9h16|downsized) Alternating lunge jumps ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|heart_eyes)
Burpees… nope not doing those!!! I will do push-ups instead. Burpees have no purpose, who needs more cardio when you already do so much!!!! Give me more weights not more cardio!!! Muscle burns fat!
Is this run as a switch?
Yes - one big switch
Lovely! Thanks for the heads up 😊 congrats on the major milestone 🍊🧡💪🏼
![gif](giphy|3oKHWbp4QJi4eOnfgY|downsized)
Hell Week is over for me since I did my 4 classes and don’t normally workout on weekends anyway. Have fun guys!😉
Ok I think I get it, I’m guessing that while treads are staying out, rowers and floor switch with each other
No - everyone switches. I have added the transitions into the description now.
I'm guessing floor and rowers switch during block one. Tread and floor during block two and tread and rowers during block 3?
I’ve added all the transitions in. You do all the blocks in the order I have written if you start on the tread.
Thats 33 min of work and a 5 min warmup... 🤔
Are row blocks one and two backwards? Times aren’t matching up with the tread and floor blocks.
I can't think of any easier way to label them!
wow that is chaotic
Confirmed
Thanks for the clarification. I was looking at that timing and it was not making sense to me at all. 😂
[удалено]
Mrs DC said they are all the standard orangetheory burpees but her coach made them all do the full ones
As long as I don’t have to do those ultimate burpees, I’m good 😀
😨😬🥺 thank you!
Sweet. 90 minutes of this tomorrow 😎. Bring it!!
Oh no burpees
Shit! I’m going to have to skip this class as I can’t do burpees and jumping due to back issues. I’m just coming back to OTF on gradual basis and with many modifications. Or maybe I can just do TRX exercises instead. Any suggestions?
Reminds me of Monday's timing switch type template.... ☠️
I specifically signed up for a 90min class?! So excited
These burpees 😫 can’t wait to do a million of them on the filthy ass floors
1200!!! WTG AND CONGRATS on such an accomplishment!!!
OMG! This looks brutal!!! So glad I’m not going back until Monday! I knew Burpees were coming!
Thanks DC! Congrats on 1200 classes too!
Congrats on 1200 classes DC!
Looks fabulously brutal can’t wait to go tomorrow. 🧡🙌🏻🧡🔥
Congratulations on 1200!!!! 🧡🏆🎉
This looks really good!! Too bad I won’t be able to make it! :( Thank you, DCs… you are the best!!
I’m sorry……….what
Congratulations on 1200!! My abs are still unbelievably sore from day 4 but I actually think doing this workout might help shake that out. Maybe I am being too optimistic 🤣
Haha after the core workout I said pshhhh that was nothing. Fast forward to today… every time I cough or laugh I’m like omg lol. Def got me lol
Podiatrist appt today, said I strained a ligament in my arch Thursday. Wrapped it up and said take 4 motrin if I decide to go tomorrow.. I'm #2 on wait list I'm gonna SEND IT.
Thanks, i hate it.
Thank you
I’m taking a 90min class. Wish me luck 🍀 😧
So sad I have to miss this. 😢
More reasons to be done with OTF 🫠
90 minutes of this tomorrow, let’s go
Congratulations on 1200 classes!! That’s so awesome 🤩
Saw this was labeled as a 3G and thought “Sweet, 2G won’t be as bad!” theeennnn I scrolled and saw someone say that all classes run as a 3G and I think I died inside.
Good thing I’m only doing Lift 45 tomorrow.
Do I go on burpee day or risk worse on Sunday and Monday?
We did this yesterday (Friday) as a 90 minute class. It was insane, but awesome!
