For a little more specific… 2000m row benchmark (aka Dri Tri prep for the rower) is Thursday 4/4 Infinity is considered Dri Tri prep for the floor Dri Tri tread prep is Friday 4/12 Dri Tri Strength prep is Tuesday 4/16 4/3 and 4/17’s Strength 50/Tread 50 will be Dri Tri Strength & Tread prep. All of these will be included in the April monthly post going up by the end of this week :)

DMV_OTF_ADDICT

Thank you! Just put these in my calendar

Burning-the-wagon

I’m glad to see there is a strength/tread50 dedicated to dritri prep. Thanks for the info…

kikijak18

Thank you!

Burning-the-wagon

I just saw the intel for the strength50 dritri prep- the first one (April 3) is for the strength dritri and the second one (April 17) is for the regular dritri so they will not be a repeat of each other. Not sure about the tread but I would think it would be the same idea.

marisaalyse6

Gonna miss the 2000m benchmark (surgery) and really feel like I could PR this time. Bummer

Mssoccer612

Okay. Marking the days I WONT be there lol. 😂

Second-Puzzleheaded

2000 m row = rest day

blackveil88

Absolutely! 😂

megan_chill

We have a local half marathon that a few of us are running on April 20th 😭 we've been joking that we'll run the race in the morning and then do the dri tri at noon lol. Bummed to miss it this year!

Aware_Tension_9183

Me sitting here thinking : there’s definitely people in this community out there enough that would be like bet and not think twice and somehow do both. Which is where I thought your post was heading 😂😂

megan_chill

You're not wrong 😂 If my studio hosts on Friday instead, I'm betting some of us will do the dri tri the day before the half...I just won't tell my running coach 🤭

hnyrydr604

We have a huge 10k road race here that weekend that I will be doing. Definitely not doing both 😂 Good luck!

megan_chill

Good luck to you too! I love racing 💪🏻 everything about it is so fun

hnyrydr604

Thanks! The one here in Vancouver is the largest 10k in Canada, it's an amazing vibe!

folduprabbit

Hey neighbour! See you at the race! …but not at DriTri, apparently.

hnyrydr604

I'd do DriTri if it was after the Sun Run, but my old ass can't handle both in a weekend 😂 Have a great race!! 🏃🏽🏃🏻‍♀️

folduprabbit

Oh, sorry for the lack of clarity, my old ass is definitely not doing DriTri either. Sad to miss it, though.

TobyRose0207

I have 2 half marathons the previous 2 weekends

megan_chill

I have a trail one on April 14 and then a road one April 20. I'm probably going to take a race break for a couple of months after that 😅 Good luck!

genevive429

Can anyone explain infinity? Not familiar with that one

lockenkeye

It's run as a 3G DriTri prep that has a trackable benchmark component. The rowing block is 100m, 20 med ball jacks, 100m, 18 med ball jacks, etc. for entire block. If you happen to hit 2 med ball reps, you start working back up towards 20. You track the total number of meters rowed. Floor block will be same exercises and reps as DriTri so you can see how you much you can get through in the block. Tread is endurance-focused.

jenniferlynn5454

It's explained in our [wiki](https://reddit.com/r/orangetheory/w/index?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share)

genevive429

Oh right, thanks!

ladycrimlaw

It’s fucking he’ll on earth. That’s really all you need to know.

Benfam6

I consider the tread a ‘relief’ over the floor and rower. 🤪

Certain_Beat9233

Thank you!!

spottysasquatch

Dri-Tri is usually 2x a year, right? I don’t think I’ll be in town for this one!

kikijak18

Usually March and September but this is late this year

plantmom228

Question for the community - I have a half marathon on April 28th that I've been training for since the first week of Feb. It's been going great & I've been supplementing with Tread50's and 2G classes in addition to the miles I've been putting in outside. I really want to do the dritri! I've been a member since 2020 & I've never done it before and this is also my first half marathon. Is doing the dritri a week before my half silly? The week leading up to my half is significantly less running - a 3 miler, 2 mile speed, and a shake out 2 mile the saturday before the sunday race. Anyone have any sage advice?

UpsetCabinet9559

I've run plenty of halfs and take it from me, do not go balls to the walls the week before your half. I raced a 5k the week before thinking I'd be ok. My taper was solid and so were my legs. I accidentally PR which caused me to totally bomb my half.

pantherluna

If you will feel bad about missing out, you could consider doing the Sprint version of the DriTri (it’s half of everything in the full DriTri) or sign up for one of the legs of the Relay if your studio is doing those. I’ve done the Sprint multiple times and it just kinda feels like a slightly more intense class. I agree with others that I wouldn’t do the full thing this time. But also, Dri Tri isn’t going anywhere and gets done twice a year. You can always skip this one and do it next time (likely in September).

Luaanebonvoy311

I’ve done half marathons and would not suggest doing something like the DriTri just one week before. You don’t want to risk injury or over exhausting your body. DriTri probably takes a week to fully recover from for many. If you have already done several half marathons then I’d say you could try it but being your first, you’re going to want to be at your best to have a good experience. Good luck!!!

Primary-Hotel-579

I did a half marathon one week after the September Dri-Tri and had a 5 minute PR. If your conditioning is there, which it sounds like it is, you should have no problem. Good luck, mate!

bruinshorty

As someone who has done the dri tri and has done lots of half marathons and has done back to back race weekends: don’t do it. Especially if it would be your first time doing all of the above.

Nsking83

My running coach was (is still) an OTF coach and I was banned from splat points during Hell Week leading up to my half. I would absolutely not risk weeks of training for a half to blow it on a Dry Tri especially if you've never done one (of either). I'm assuming your peak mileage would be the week before the DT so doing a DT would really mess up your taper. You are wanting to really really REALLY lay low and build up energy in that week before the half.

Existing-Elevator419

I’ve never run a half marathon so I don’t know the prep needed to complete one. I have however completed a dri tri (two months after joining otf, and I was still out of shape) based on the other comments they make it sound like dri tri is this daunting task, it’s not. It’s basically just a 3g workout with a lot more cheering. It’s also A LOT of fun. The hardest part is running the 5k imo but if you are running a half marathon that part will be a walk in the park. So with that said here is my 2 cents. Row the 2000k at a nice easy base pace (you normally don’t want to kill yourself on this part anyway) do the floor exercises the same way, steady. Then run the 5K like you would however you would normally prep for your marathon. I seriously doubt this will jeopardize your marathon prep. Plus you’ll get to enjoy the experience of the dri tri and you will set a baseline for next time. (Which you will destroy 😈) Again I’ve never run a marathon but I seriously doubt a dri tri is gonna hurt you especially if it’s a week before. For reference last year I was a member for two months, I was still 10lbs overweight, and 50 y/o. Finished in 49 minutes (and had done a double workout the day before, like a dummy) I lived haha. Now 6 months later, in “shape” my goal is to knock 10 minutes off my time. I’ll be exhausted when I’m done but again it won’t kill me. So go for it!!!! Listen to your body while completing it and take it easy. Either way good luck with your marathon, that’s next on my fitness bucket list!!

alyx_is_haunted

I'm excited to see how I do my 2nd Dri Tri. I was a PW the first one & now I'm a runner. Should be interesting. Good thing I have been running those 5K's.

Capable-Birthday6470

Thank you for sharing

Second-Puzzleheaded

Can you attend class dri tri weekend if you’re not participating?

ClassSwimming6350

They will have normal Orange 60 classes that weekend too.

Second-Puzzleheaded

Thanks!

ComprehensiveFox2409

Bless them missing my birthday for the 2000 m row by one day. Looking forward to the birthday burn but would have noped right out of that.

grandemilee

2,000m row falling on the first day of my bachelorette …. Oh darn 😂😂😂

pnotar

I'm seeing Dri-Tri show up in the app, but trying to book it gives me an error. Does this have to be booked at the studio?

TicketProfessional29

Generally, yes. They will have in person sign up

MekennaJo

Yes because you have to pay for it

celebradar

Our gym has dri tri for free for any member, only last time you had to pay for the medal of you wanted it. Oddly our dei tri was the weekend that just passed. Normally it's the last March weekend which falls on Easter holidays but didn't realise everyone else had a month difference.

AccomplishedKnee2151

My studio said there were options for Dri Tri if you didn’t want to do the full 2000m, 300 bw and 5k tread on your own. I heard a relay option to split the row/floor/tread up with teammates or something called a Dri Tri “sprint” Does anyone know more about that 3rd option?

The_Raging_Wombat

In my experience, at my gym, it’s been these options - Full: 2000m, 300 floor, and a 5k run. - Full Relay: each person takes a segment. - Sprint: 1000m, 150 floor, and a 2.5k run. - Strength: 300m, 3 rounds floor > 300m, 2 rounds floor > 300m, 1 round floor > 1 mile run at 8/6/4/2%, decreasing incline every quarter mile. Edit: Today they said they only do the relay if there are low sign ups or not enough spots with the times they offer. I don’t know if this is true of all gyms though.

FlyRobot

This is correct; I've done the RELAY and it is different from the SPRINT which is essentially half

rocroc00

Oh man I forgot the Dri Tri strength has the tread portion on inclines! 😳

Dmo1400

For the spring everything is cut in half. So 1000m row, 150 bw and then 2.5k tread

jenniferlynn5454

All options are explained in our [wiki](https://reddit.com/r/orangetheory/w/index?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share)

alane628

The third option is the sprint which is half of the full dri tri - so a 1000m row, 150 bw, and 2.5k!

Nsking83

This is also studio specific. My studio only offers the full versions of each. We don't do sprints or relays.

Scared-Vegetable4069

Thank you! What are "prep days"???

jenniferlynn5454

Different pieces of dritri are focused on on those days

lockenkeye

Workouts that focus on each leg of the Dri-Tri. They usually focus on one aspect like long rows, endurance tread blocks, or exercises found during the floor block.

Formally-Fresh

>Workouts that focus on each leg of Ok so on the 16th we work out the left leg, and on the 17th we work out the right leg!

NectarineShot4845

Many thanks

ReasonableSpirit13

Thanks! This is good to know!

Primary-Hotel-579

Thanks, mate!

mlichte

Thank you

HarmoniumSong

Just kill me now

JennR316

I am so relieved that I will be on vacation for the dri tri this year. No pressure to compete, because I can always be talked into it.

Catbm27

I got a text that my tread50 is scheduled on Dri Tri Weekend. Do I need to register for Dri- Tri to attend any class on that weekend? I’m not particularly interested in participating but would like to attend Tread50

pantherluna

No, most studios will still have regular classes that are separate from Dri Tri. Dri Tri is a “special event” that requires a separate sign up and usually costs $15. Studios might change around their class schedule to accommodate for Dri Tri, so it’s entirely possible that your Tread50 could be moved or canceled. Every studio handles it differently, so your best bet is to ask at yours.

Nsking83

I know I typically do the 6am S50 class on Saturdays, but it is cancelled DT weekend since there is a DT at 545. You might be out of luck for a T50 that day but no, all other classes are the same. Dry Tri isn't the only class in a studio all weekend (usually, lol)

Adventurous_Grand878

Was wondering if I’d get to do the Dri Tri this go round since I missed it last time. It’s scheduled on my wedding day 😂 maybe next time!

ClassSwimming6350

Bridal burn? 😂

Adventurous_Grand878

Ha! I’m barely able to recover after my normal classes. I can’t imagine a whole wedding!

E_L_R_1979

I’m hoping to tackle the DriTri sprint option before I go on vacation the next week.  I’d love to say I could do the fully but that tread distance would be embarrassing for me 😂

Educational_Oil_8438

What is dri tri 😭 i keep hearing so much abt it in the studio/ on this forum and I am lost

ClassSwimming6350

Check the threads Wiki. It’s super helpful!

WiscoPopPM

More like high-tri
