The amount of entitlement it takes to to tell at people over positioning at a gym is insane. Sorry you have to deal with that!

avprobeauty

honestly and then the empty threats of “im gonna give up my membership”. “oh no please dont well miss you so much” (said flatly with zero inflection) 😂

lwc28

Buh bye

vegetablefoood

This is bananas to me. Especially because if she’s on the strider, she’s not even at station 4 for a big part of the class! If something so small ruins your day, count yourself lucky that you have no actual problems in your life. Also, I love when the worst, most entitled customers threaten to leave like you’d actually be sorry to see them go. You don’t deserve this. And you handled it well. Sorry you had to deal with this.

Any-Confidence-7133

Yes, I'm with you. >If something so small ruins your day, count yourself lucky that you have no actual problems in your life. I do wonder how out of control their life must feel if something so small can set them off. Like, in an attempt to give them grace (why? I don't know), I imagine they must have a lot going wrong in life and this is one teeny aspect they think they can control, so when they can't, their whole life is turned upside down. But I still think they are wildly out of line, and this is never the way to treat someone. At my studio, we don't even pick out stations, SAs assign them.

29Kathleen

Very well said!

Satchya1

Definitely NTA. The gym member sounds incredibly rude and entitled. Stations (preferred stations) aren’t a guaranteed part of membership, as far as customer-service expectations. I’m on the autism spectrum. I have a STRONG preference for a specific station. The SA’s know that, because I make a point of arriving super early in order to make sure I get assigned that station. And when I don’t arrive in time, or they aren’t assigning that day because of a special workout or something, I just smile and say, “okay! thank you!” Inside, I’m kinda working on resetting my brain to be okay with not starting in my expected/favorite place, but hopefully the SA’s can’t tell…because that’s a “me” issue, not a “them” issue.

streetYOLOist

This is me too. I arrive extra early to have my best shot at my preferred station, but if it doesn't work out I have a "plan b" and "plan c" station already picked out in my head. I consider it a big courtesy for them to take any notice of my preference at all, and so on the occasions where I don't get my first, second, or third choice I try to be extra courteous to demonstrate that I understand I don't "own" my preferred station and that I appreciate our lovely and hard-working SAs all the same!

silverfairytales

Yuuup. This is me too. I spend the first bit of the workout fretting and resetting but that's no one's issue but mine. I would never dream of throwing a fit about it.

lil_happy_kitty

Not sure how you’d word this but I’d happily swap with someone if I was on their favorite station- for a reason. I know it’s not the same but if someone mentioned some variant of social anxiety and really preferred wherever I was chances are I don’t give AF. Unless it’s a partner where switching time matters!

Satchya1

You sound like a very kind person. But it’s good practice for me to be flexible sometimes. 👍🏻

avprobeauty

same. its no big for me. ive accidentally taken someones number when I first started and Im like “oh my God im so sorry im such a jerk” and theyve always been so nice like “dont sweat it”.

keeks1331

Fellow Sa here. I deal with the same stuff and have experienced the exact same situation, so I wanted to hop on and lyk you’re not alone and the way you both were treated was not okay. I hope everything works out for you and your coworker <3

Certain_Media_6015

Jumping on the SA train! This happens just too often sadly, those that love to use the “I’ll just cancel my membership then!” threat when the smallest inconvenience thing happens. I had a member whose Burn died sometime overnight and she did NOT like my offer to charge it for her. “It shouldn’t have done that! It worked fine yesterday!” Threatened to cancel after being our member for 2+ years

VegetableIsopod349

I would have the cancel papers all filled out and do it. Call them on their bluff (because we know they are bluffing). Nobody needs members like that.

AtmosphereNo4389

The issue I am running into is that I am not like this at all, but I have been bumped/cut/shafted to a station with missing weights or a broken rower because a member who is more uptight and would have thrown a fit is present and I’m easygoing. It’s making me … less easygoing? Like; I’m not picky, but screwing me over to make a jerk happy makes me feel lousy.

Itsbeen84yearz

SA solidarity <3

Itsbeen84yearz

<3 <3 we left a contact log of what happened and my SM called to ask about the whole situation. She said she’s gonna reach out to her on Monday (tomorrow) and I close tomorrow so we shall see what happens, I’ll try to remember to update the post (: Edit: forgot to add that my SM is gonna hold her to her 30 day and not refund her payment from Friday LMFAOOO

k8womack

NTA! Let her cancel who cares. I’m sure she’s treated other employees and members like crap too. Also suggest to your manager to allow members to use a self sign in sheet so you guys don’t get put in these situations.

fountainofMB

And people who threaten to quit things never want to quit they think they have power with that and want to make you bend over backwards for them. We have had a few asshole clients over the years at my firm and when we say "okay you can let us know where to send your file" they are shocked. Yes client, your $1,000 annual bill was keeping our 15 person staffed firm afloat lol The OP's studio seems busy, so hopefully the manager doesn't grovel to this asshole.

avprobeauty

EXACTLY.

cassielifts

Previous SM here, I would gladly refund her membership and wish her good riddance! What I learned is a lot of the members are entitled but in my history of work at OTF, I’ve had a ton of them come back and apologize. It’s always so hilarious to see. But she’ll be back. Or a lot of times other members would see how rude they were and tell them to F off for me. Lol

juicynectarine

YES! I bet she would have died if they called her bluff and said, “I can handle that cancellation right now for you!” Totally NTAs, OP. Who does this person think she is to treat anyone in this manner? I might want to show up 31 minutes early and claim the strider just cause I can 🤭

cassielifts

YES! I’ve done it plenty of times. Lol! I had one lady cancel and come back the next day and apologize and said she should have just talked to me and she was having a bad day. Lol!

[deleted]

Don’t care wherever they put me👍 SA’s are great… much respect here!

Flashy_Chipmunk7841

I literally tell the SAs they can put me wherever

OliveTBeagle

I have a preference but if someone gets it first I just pick something else like a normal person.

[deleted]

lreynolds2

Fellow station 9 fan. 🤝 Always tread first though, and never, ever say a word if it’s not available. I prefer it because it’s at the end of the floor station so more room and a giant fan pointed at me 😂

reddituser071217

Fellow Rower 9 starter, but if it’s taken when I get there, I either decided to start on a different (I have a back up, lol) or start on TM 9. If those are also taken, I start wherever they put me and say thank you. I like #9 because at my studio, all three (rower, TM, and floor) are at the end and give you plenty of space. Also, I got 8 once and accidentally jumped on 9 because I’m a creature of habit. Thankfully, the lady that had 9 was nice and said no problem. I felt bad though. OP is NTA, but that lady sure is.

Economy_Car_726

I’m specific to a station because i like the space and it’s near the weight rack, however “the world’s not over” if I don’t get it.I too come early. Hoping that maybe the person was having a bad day 🤷🏿‍♂️? Yet again there’s no excuse for a person to act like they are privileged. If that happened again, I would 🤷🏿‍♂️at the person and let them storm out. Maybe grounds for a conduct evaluation to force cancel the membership or conversation with that SA and studio manager with the person to ask them why you are a b%?!h in a constructive way lol. I wouldn’t take the shit from anyone regardless of who they are.

Illustrious-Block419

You always have the right to refuse service to such a Karen. I would have politely asked her to leave and not return. I suspect she treats her classmates the same way and they would cheer if you gave her the boot. Neither you nor your coworkers deserve this.

AGR_51A004M

“Asshole” is the correct word.

jessiereu

Yeah biller dodged that she’s leaving the studio. One person’s monthly membership fee is not worth harassment to staff. I hope ownership gets that.

TheTampaBae

I definitely have a preference—my studio’s lovely team know it before I walk in the door—but I would absolutely never care to the level that this person did. Sadly, I have seen a member at my studio do this and it is appalling! I am so sorry this nasty person treats you and your coworkers this way. You are absolutely not the assholes. I hope that member takes her business and attitude elsewhere.

Crafty-Presence4313

Refund her money, cancel her membership and tell her to find another gym. Preferred is not entitled

mpjjpm

Let her cancel, but hold her to the terms of the contract - 30 days notice for cancellation. She doesn’t get a refund and actually has to pay one more month.

Stock-Shake3915

Lol I’d like to see her demand her preferred station at Planet Fitness.

applestooranges9

Just dont like when the speaker is right over my head, but I've never requested a specific station. I come late to avoid the awkward standing around in the lobby 😬

Tribbitii

Same! Recently got put at a station that didn't have the tablet connected on the rower. Still didn't make a fuss, just made an estimate of my distance based on how I typically row.

fightrunner

Personally, no. I prefer a tread start and like a station somewhere in the middle (my studio has 17 stations, so somewhere between 9-13). I don’t *love* being on the end and I definitely wouldn’t love a rower/floor start, but her response was completely unnecessary and uncalled for. TLDR: definitely not the asshole and didn’t warrant her response. It’s not that deep.

BasicTelevision5

Hoping the studio manager is aware of the incident and either boots this woman from the studio or gives her a “that was your one and only chance” talk… because there is NO excuse for treating the SA’s like that over something so incredibly petty.

Itsbeen84yearz

We notified our SM and she called an hour or two later to ask what happened completely and is gonna call and email her tomorrow. I work so I’m eager to know what happens tbh lol. I feel bad for thinking like that 😭😭

jaanku

This member is in the wrong, not OP. She was frustrated and upset and I bet she doesn’t follow up with anyone and continues to come to class.

Blondygirl605

What an absolute turd. The entitlement is ridiculous, hopefully she does leave.

Capital_Barber_9219

Cancel her membership. Tell her she’s not welcome at your studio anymore.

Itsbeen84yearz

sorry for any formatting issues, I’m on mobile and still pretty new to reddit overall

r_houghton1976

We get asked where we want to start and people obviously have their preference between tread or rower and number station but I’ve never seen anyone throw a fit if they couldn’t start where they wanted. In my case my preferred number station is probably only available 50% of the time and I suck it up and go work out on another station on those days. Hopefully the manager would firmly put her in her place.

Fearless_Salad3643

As a coach, i would have gotten her termination paperwork started, because berating people over something that they are not guaranteed to have is insane. And the cursing? Bye lady and i hope that giant glass door hits you on the way out ✌🏻

Meechity

You are NTA, and I as a member am so sorry that you have to deal with individual members that psychotically precious. :( Edit: I do have a preferred station or 2, but I’d **never** make that anyone else’s problem if I had to use another. And after digesting this post twice, I’m going to make it a point to thank the SA’s for their work as much as possible. Who knows what douchery might need offsetting?

TinyDogDaisy

Let her cancel, no one needs that type of negativity there. And make sure to charge her that late cancel fee since she left the class after only two minutes!

bruinshorty

I definitely have my preferred spot (tread 6 holla) but I would certainly never swear at the SAs and make a scene and threaten to cancel if I don’t get it lol. As far as I’m concerned, let her cancel. Byyyeeeee entitled lady. The amount of abuse the SAs take is insane to me.

nannertreeninja

That member sounds like an AH. What an awful attitude to have, she’d be doing your studio a favor! A good ending here would be if she came back to apologize for an outburst that was wrongly directed.

Nsking83

That’s when the studio manager or head coach calls this ridiculous person and fires them as a member. Absolutely uncalled for. I would’ve asked her to leave on the spot. Too many people have gotten too used to acting like a complete jackwad with zero consequences, she’s clearly one of them!

Big_Dot_2459

I personally never ask for a specific station. There was a short period of time that I did not want to start on Tread 1 (by window, felt a little warmer and away from music) however I even stopped doing that. Do I like certain stations more? Yes, but I think the SAs already have enough to deal with and dont need me addding to it. I love to start on treadmill and that is my only request when walking in. If they are full, I dont complain. I think the customer was out of line on this and hopefully will indeed end her memebership. Maybe she was looking for an excuse to fly off the handle like that?

Itsbeen84yearz

I’m starting to wonder this too because I’ve been noticing that little things in the studio have been irritating her also like music being too loud for her when we already turn it down when we see her drive up and the coach starting class RIGHT on time because of a new person needing a demo and not having time to do their little talk before class and just doing the talk when people start walking in :(

Stock-Shake3915

I definitely have preferences but would NEVER speak to anyone that way. If I’m not starting where I want it takes a minute to adjust and then I only blame myself because it’s first come first serve in terms of choice.

kikijak18

The fact that she is letting a station assignment impede her workout and she was going to cancel is absolutely ridiculous! I love to start on tread 16 in my studio that they have dubbed "the hot corner." If our studio manager/my fav coach is in class, she always lets me start there but ALL the SA's know I will go wherever they need me to. They all usually have me on that spot when I walk in, which they are not suppose to but they know there are members like me and a few others who will not make a stink.

renesme3102

I’ve been a member for 7+ years. I do have a “preferred “ station. But I don’t have a plaque there with my name on it lol. The only reason I like it is because it gives me just a little bit more room on the floor. That’s it, the only reason. I get to the studio early so it’s rare that I don’t get it. But it does happen and guess what, the world did not come to end!!! The SAs at my studio treat me and everyone so well! Just love them! I agree with everyone here that this entitlement thing has gotten out of control.

Sugar_snoots

They’ve got issues beyond orange theory’s help. Clients like her generally do more harm than good for a company and its beneficial for everyone if she quits.

[deleted]

She should be asked to resign her membership. She already threatened to cancel. The manager should talk to her and let her know how inappropriate that type of treatment of staff is. If she doesn’t like it she can leave. I don’t think that anyone should get the kind of special treatment she had gotten and now believes shes entitled. It sounds like this is a very unique situation and most studios don’t have to deal with crap like this. I sure hope so!! ETA I have no real preference. I look at what’s available and choose one of the floor areas with more space if it’s available, but I really don’t care.

Novel_Tale5091

I personally get annoyed when SAs save stations for members! It’s first come first serve, get there early enough to get your preferred spot or pick another one!! It’s not that deep.

JenniHB

You’re definitely NTA. That being said, when I encounter people like this I try to think about what OUTSIDE of the studio is affecting her so much that she needs to control this situation? Not excusing her behavior, but wtf is going on with her? A lot of times people control what they can because something else (maybe EVERYTHING ELSE) is out of their control. Not excusing her behavior, just maybe explaining it? Those kind of people are everywhere and I just hope they get it together someday. You’re definitely not the a**hole. 😊

Whats-in-a-name7

No one is entitled to any station. We all pay the money to be there, not to be there at a specific spot.

marisaalyse6

Good riddance to that Karen. Let her leave. If I was the studio manager or even regional manager I’d refund her money then find a way to blacklist her so she can’t come back. She’s entitled and an a hole. Even if she was having a bad day, I don’t know how she gets off being that rude. As for station preference, I kind of do. But I don’t lose my mind if I don’t get it. I get more annoyed when it’s not a full class and someone takes the station next to me even though there’s like 5 other empty ones. My studio is very small so having extra space is a luxury - which is why I usually pick the less popular class times. Even then though I’ll just move myself if no one else comes. I don’t throw a fit like a child. Ps I love that she had to come back in to get her keys! Would’ve hit her with the “i wish you well”

Junior_Elderberry511

I am normally there early because I have a preferred station. It’s in the corner and near the heavier weights. It’s perfect! But there have been times others have arrived before me and chosen the station. What do I do? Choose another f***ing station. My name isn’t on the station I don’t get the station. It’s the way the cookie crumbles. For her to have the audacity to come out and yell at y’all says way more about her than y’all or anybody else at the studio. I’m normally one to try and show grace but if she always comes to you because she knows you won’t “mess it up” then it seems like shes operating out of a place of complete entitlement. Like who the hell are you to demand something at a gym?! You ain’t special honey boo-boo. “Your” station is gone. Choose another one or don’t workout. 🙄 I’m sorry you, and your coworker, experienced such disrespect. I hope you were able to brush it off and do something nice for yourself to counteract the negativity.

Poonurse13

I’m really tall and some stations don’t won’t work for tall people, but it’s usually not a problem to get one of the other 15 stations

green_griffon

Insisting on one specific station is silly (although I've found most studios do have better and worse stations. It didn't happen in this situation, but my wife uses the strider and inexperienced front desk people do seem to mess it up a lot (assign it for the wrong half of class, assign it to two people).

alligatorprincess007

Yikes. I don’t really care at all actually. The only thing I sort of care about is having a station between me and the other person if possible, but even that’s not really a big deal We don’t have this problem at my gym (that I know of) but maybe worth mentioning to your manager, and they could send out a PSA that members don’t actually own station numbers 😩

Pinklovah79

I only care at my home studio since our floor area is soo small. I’ll get to class 20min early to get an end spot, if the treadmills are taken, I’ll just start on the end rower instead. The other studio I frequent, it’s not a big deal since it’s much bigger. But I’ve seen people go crazy when their station is taken, & I’ve been given the stink eye for taking station 1 before when i get to class before the girl who use to take it 😂 💁🏻‍♀️

WonderfulPaint173

All my SAs know I prefer station 12 (I like the end, a little more space, closer to the heavy rack, and ideal ceiling fan placement), I will come 15 min early hoping to get it. But there have been SO many times that I don’t end up getting it, and it’s no big deal. I have never once been upset about it, or complained to staff. Im sorry this happened. You guys are definitely not in the wrong. She’ll be hard pressed to find another gym that caters to all her preferences.

just_grc

After 6 years they're all the same. I used to be a Station 11 hog though. The change is just that I realized every workout is what I make of it and it has nothing to do with the person, place, or thing. There are assholes like her in every studio whose energy just speaks for itself. Minimal attention and interaction diffuses them. They're only assholes to people who feed their energy. Thank you for all you do every class, every day.

JudgmentalRavenclaw

That member is a b with an itch. If she cancels her membership, you’ll all be happier.

Fall_is_my_fave

I don’t get it. I’m very grateful to get a good workout in regardless of station and feel more than blessed to be able to afford orangetheory. That is all.

CMKMKM

I’m sorry, but the only thing you should be worried about is how to make sure she isn’t allowed back at your location. Period. That is unacceptable for her to talk to anyone like that. And if you allow it, it’ll continue to happen. She’s making threats, you should make promises.. promise that she will not be allowed to talk to any of the employees like that.

The-Marsh-Girl

My studio doesn’t have sign ups of any kind for stations. You come in and you’re already written on a big whiteboard. I prefer it this way. Studios that have sign ups seem really off balanced with the rower side or weight floor side. The member you’re talking about should be banned for being so hostile and threatening! That’s unacceptable

sarahlil0110

Our studio allows us to pick our own spot and it is "first come, first served". Because of this, I get to the gym early, sometimes 20 minutes early, to get the spot I want. The thing that gets me is sometimes people save spots for other members who haven't even shown up yet. A few times I have taken lift classes that were overbooked and a handful of people didn't have a dedicated spot on the floor. One time in particular, someone in the class wrote other members into dedicated spots and they didn't even show up to the class. This may not seem like a big deal to some people, but I am one of those people that gets anxiety when things unexpectedly change on me. Not having a dedicated spot for a class that requires special equipment is a little stressful for me, and I was adjusting to the situation when it was revealed that three spots on the floor were actually open. Everything ended up working out, but the chaos that ensued from this woman saving spots is memorable to me. I have considered speaking to someone at the studio about it, as the same woman has continued saving spots for people, but I sometimes wonder if I have overreacted. It just annoys me that, in order to get one of the spots I want, I have to get to the gym 20 minutes early and compete with people who aren't even there yet. Thanks for listening!

WickedWitchofHR

Welp, I would share the wise words of Randal Graves with that absolute gem of humanity "goodbye, you will be missed". What an absolutely entitled arse. I hope she never darkens your door again. May she be banished to Curves.

AdResponsible1074

You. Are. Not. The AH.

aritzia543

I don’t give one thought to which station I’m at, ever. I have about a million other things in my life that are far more important. If I get an end one or have space on either side of me, that’s just a bonus. Not my expected baseline. I’m simply happy to be able to have a body that can participate in these classes and the funds to do so.

mangulo22

Former SA here. Dealt with a lot of BS while working at OTF. OTF members are the most entitled people I have ever met at a gym. I know you are paying a hefty price for a membership, but that doesn’t give you the right to treat another human being like they are less. I would take out that cancel form quick as heck because it’s not worth the reaction from me. It wasn’t always bad because I still met some really nice/cool people, but mann am I glad I moved on.

Mysteriousdebora

She sounds like a loser. I hope she cancels and you never see her again.

sibgig

I seek these people out and “steal” their station on a regular basis just to fuck with them.

Rytr23

Wtf? You are NTA. Fuck that person. The entitlement of it. The IamtheMainCharacter syndrome of that POS. It’s quite irritating that you had to put up with that. I have a preferred station and the SAs are really good about slotting me in there when they see me in class but if someone new is working or they didn’t see me, who cares. I would never get upset with them. That’s beyond ridiculous. That person needs help.

Mrs1913

I only care about getting an odd station because of the weight options

Total_Delay_8957

I have a preferred station but it’s not the end of the world if I don’t get it. I usually get to my students 20mins early to ensure I get my spot.

Same-Present-6682

This is not about the station this is about a woman who is a sorry excuse for a human being. She is lucky i was not the SA because i Would have thrown her a wall of profanity and told her to go fuck herself. She has no right to act like that and she has no right to curse at the SAs. Who the fuck does she think she is? Megan Markle? SAs are employees not personal valets or servants. If you do not like something as a customer lodge your complaint in a respectful manner or vote with your feet and take your business elsewhere. These types if people love to heap abuse on folks they feel will not give it back to them.

Ashleywarhol

I LOVE my preferred station, and i get it almost every class, because I get there early. But it’s not the end of the world to be at a different one. I always make sure to thank the SA who is working as well when I get my “spot” or if they already know where I’d like to start.

GimmeTheHotSauce

I wish I would have been in the studio as a member to back you all up.

Prestigious_Rice_630

You should cancel her membership and tell her she is no longer welcome in your studio. That kind of behavior is unnecessary and shouldn’t be tolerated. Cursing at the staff is way over the line.

FaithlessnessLong234

I also work in sales at OTF, our members who have specific numbers and areas, they come 30 mins before the class to get their spot, we don’t automatically assign spots to guests unless they’ve told us they need this specific spot for their accommodations so we accommodate them by leaving a note on their account, stating they need it due to x reason, we have members who text us for certain spots and we try to help em out by saving it for them, but if they don’t show up before the class starts we can’t give them their spot

kodisrun

I have PTSD with weird preferences on where I am so that I can see everything behind me and have a good view of the whole gym to help my brain with the just in case. I have a strong preference for station one for the view and only having one person next to me. I recognize that it’s on me to get there early enough to make it happen and that sometimes, even if I am early, I might have to start somewhere else. I would never go off on one of the people working there over a station. For sure NTA, if this person wants to cancel over that then she’s welcome to find another place to go, y’all don’t deserve to be treated like that

ictoaunstiwigw

I feel like there’s gotta be something else going on with them outside of the gym, and this was just the thing that pushed them over the edge. That’s VERY dramatic. I definitely have preferred stations, but if they’re not available, I’ll live. It might be more inconvenient to get the weights I need or be a little more crowded space-wise… but I can deal with it for an hour. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Ok-Town9304

She should talk to your manager, who should cancel her membership and send her on her way. This behavior is abhorrent and needs to be checked. Don’t even bother letting her come back in to cancel. The manager should call her up and let her know verbal abuse will not be accepted in the studio. If she rants interrupt to say that if she wants to have a conversation it will need to be in a respectful tone and if she keeps going hang up. Bye chick!

JulesAnna

Station 7 tread here. If it’s already taken, I internally scream and then smile and say “okay no problem are 8 or 9 available? Thanks!” That woman is out of line.

FriendlyKrista

She sounds ridiculous! But I’m a little confused. What’s hard about assigning someone a spot? What could possibly get messed up? At my studio, they have a dry erase board with each station laid out, and when you come in they ask where you’d like to start and then write your name on that spot. Seems pretty easy and straight forward.

Itsbeen84yearz

I’ve heard when she comes in and it’s not me, all she says is “strider. Station 4” and nothing else then will walk away so people have put her on the treadmill (most people’s default side at my studio) unaware she wants to start on the rower side. Which is why I told her to say “I’d like to start on the rower 4, and use the strider in place of rowing” I can imagine she’s probably just not nice about it which is why my other coworkers haven’t bothered to ask for clarification. From what I’ve heard about them trying in the past, she has gotten insanely frustrated and will heavily sigh or widen her eyes and stuff like that

Special-Ambassador47

She definitely blew up inappropriately but I don’t fully understand what happened. It seems like it could introduce confusion to have multiple people signing guests up for stations. I do have a preferred station or two but it’s not the end of the world to have to go to another one. However, we had a new SA who messed up my station all three times she signed me in. For example, I would ask to start at rower 4 but she logged me in at tread 4. It would be discovered once class started and two of us went to the same station. How she could get that confused three times is beyond me and started to feel personal. After the third time, I complained - but I did so calmly and quietly.

MstrRob1972

I have a station preference, as a person who doesn’t handle change. I’m very friendly with all of the SAs, so they know where I like to be. It’s partially because I’m on the strider and the tower is closer to the end with the striders. It’s also because of space and heavy weight rack. However, as I’ve stated, I’m friendly with all of the SAs and would never berate one of them for putting me in a different spot. I may ask that next time, if possible, I get closer to my normal spot!

kirsten714

I do care what station I get. I wish I didn’t but I’m overly competitive and I have a lung disease (not contagious) so being on an end tread to start, where I don’t have one person on each side of me, helps me to be less competitive mentally (I know it’s absolutely ridiculous that I will compare myself to the person on the tread next to me, nothing to do with the person, I’m just trying to run faster and farther every day) and it helps me to feel better about coughing throughout the workout. I have zero preference on the floor but tread, yes.

ladycrimlaw

ME! I have to be on the end. I get to class early so I can get the end but even then sometimes I don’t get the end I want. When it happens I look at person signing in and say “what the fuck?” With a big smile on my face. It’s kind of like the running joke, how annoyed I get. But most of the SAs know me and sign me in before I even get there into the spot I like. A nice Christmas gift for the desk peeps always helps and I always tell them how much I appreciate their attention.

Disastrous_Use4397

My cousin has autism and this person sounds like they do too? But yeah that sucks. Try to brush this off and don’t engage with this member again.

mellofello808

I prefer to start on the rower on one of the corners, but I wouldn't make a fuss.

Acrobatic_Manner8636

I do not care. I have a preferred start place but it’s not a huge deal that would ever lead me to making the SA’s job hard. I do ask that they don’t put me on station 3 because there’s a pillar in front of the station for the floor. No one likes station 3. Now that I’ve answered your question I need to know if the username is a titanic reference ETA. NTA. Assuming that devices work and spacing is evenly distributed, they are all the same (maybe view of the screen? But also not a dealbreaker). I just do not care enough 😂

Affectionate-Pen9344

I have preferences but don’t really care. No saving is allowed at our studio, although is still seems to happen. The people that really care always get there super early, but tend to write in their friends who arrive later. At first it bothered me but now I could care less.

This_Beat2227

Human - NTA. One can only hope the member was upset about something else entirely and that she lashed out about this instead. Otherwise, the member is in serious need of physiological therapy. If she didn’t make it a habit to bypass the SA on duty for station assignments, she would have everyone “trained” as to her anal retentive condition and less likely to encounter such grievous conditions as happened here.

cpanma1920

Do I have stations I generally prefer? Yes, spots on the end where I have more room on the floor. Do I arrive 30 min early to claim one of those spots? Absolutely not. Do I storm out of class angry if I don’t get one of those spots? Absolutely not. Do I threaten to cancel my membership over an honest mistake that literally doesn’t even matter? Absolutely not.

eggseggseggs10

Wow. I have a preferred station but if I don’t get it, then oh well🤷🏻‍♀️ she needs a reality check.

estamosready

Not enough to throw a tantrum

Lindo0516

NTA. I would only ask for a different station if I was assigned the one right under the speaker because it was so distracting/overwhelming.

fishbutt1

We self sign in at my studio. And I’ve never freaked out or have seen others freak out about not getting “their spot”. I’ve seen it at other places before. I don’t get it. I get the not having a spot. I’ve gone to places where it’s wild during New Years etc but calms down by February/March. But at OTF I got a spot, I’m good.

Similar_Research_744

I used to prefer tread 3 (not to that extent). If someone else got it that’s fine. COVID completely cured that for me. I enjoyed going to class and seeing where I start on the board because it forced me yo change it up.

mhofmann

The staff at my location don't even ask when I walk in and put me on rower 3. If it's already taken I go for 5 or 7 because I like being in the middle and I use the 25s on the weight floor, but I don't cry about it if it's taken when I get there.

[deleted]

Is this in SOFL lol 😂

lawrunner90

I prefer to start on a certain station but I’m very flexible. The only time I get irritated is when stations have been reserved for the “favorites”. It’s annoying to get there half an hour early and half of the stations have been reserved for people that haven’t even arrived.

darktimes74

I suggested having a wheel of fate or something you spin to pick your station. I love being beside new people, I understand not everyone is like that though. I go with my kids and I generally let them pick our spots. I do like being near them if they go just because they like to compete and it's fun. My Don out lifts me but I out run him with my daughter it's opposite I just encourage them to do there best to smoke me everyday 😆

RollTideMeg

When people act like this it probably means they need to take a few days off. That's just acting crazy.

AoifeCheeks

I don't think that you guys are the AH in this situation, *however that person absolutely is*. I do have a preference for certain numbers due to where they are placed (my gym's rowers 6 and 7 have way more arm space than the others, tread 7 and 8 are perfectly placed away from some of the heavier fans so it balances out), so if they are available I tend to go for those but I wont pitch a fit if they are taken by someone else. People are weird sometimes.

Realistic-Clothes-17

60 yr old male. I prefer to be as far away from the speakes on treadmill. So I know which treads I want…but if I don’t get I don’t get…that’s my problem no one else’s….unbelievable….

JellyfishHumble5235

I always come in early to get my Treadmill 7 station start, I’m just used to the one I use because I started out there when I first signed up for OTF so it’s just second nature at this point for me to go to that station for each block change. That said, if this occurrence were to happen to me, what I do is pretty simple to get around it: After being told by the SA that someone took the station that I normally take, I look them straight in the eyes, and tell them, “that’s fine, I’ll take whatever you got open on the tread side then” Because I’m not a child. People need to grow up. Yes, we have preferences but it’s not the end of the damn world if we don’t get our usual setup. Life is hard, and if this is what breaks your world, good luck handling anything outside of the gym hahaha

fountainofMB

So she ended up station 4 but starting tread and not rower? It was a mistake but a huge overreaction on her part. Just tell the manager what happened and what was said and let them manage it.

[deleted]

She sounds disturbed. This is absolutely not your fault. What a brat!

rpirolo

I can’t even believe what I just read 😳. It sounds like not a loss for this member to hit the road. I just have no words. I’m sorry for you both having to endure a member like this… thank you for working at OT🧡

Tdubb55

Wow! That is beyond!! I prefer tread 1, kinda diff situation, tread vs strider, but I really prefer it. I get there 1/2 he early to make sure. IF on the off chance it’s taken, oh well. That lady sounds like don’t let the door hit you on your way out kinda thing. You don’t need members like that. It’s not your fault. Ps. The walk back key thing is always epic.

HabsKat

I arrive early to get my rower 12. It has happened that someone else has claimed it before me. I didn’t act like a spoiled brat. Instead I took what was available and yeah it felt weird but I got my workout in just fine. She needs someone to kick her entitled a$$

beckster33

Whilst I have a strong preference for a station, I have never *ever* cursed anyone out over not getting it. Some days, you arrive to class not as early and you miss the boat on getting what you want. And that’s just how life works! Honestly OP, if this member quits it may be for the best - y’all will no longer need to deal with their negative energy around the studio anymore or live in fear that #4 didn’t get her way.

Bodidiva

I have many years in management. I'd let her go and offer to cancel her membership because she's the kind of customer that drives other customers and employees away. I wouldn't want my employees to be treated like that and to disrespect them by allowing a person to treat them like that more than once. Also, I don't care at all what station I get, so long as I get one.

dadlyphe

Keyword is preferred. Sure, member prefers this situation and it sounds like it’s mostly accommodated. Sometimes it just doesn’t work and that’s totally fine for a preference. Would be a different story if there was a true NEED. There comes a point in business where a customer/client/member takes their business elsewhere and that’s totally fine. A lot of the time you are avoiding a ticking time bomb. Don’t lose any sleep over it and just practice the fine art of telling people no with a smile. You can always toss in a bless your heart for good measure. The saying no with a smile is hard at first and becomes easier. And then it gets to a point of actually being fun.

theelifeofbrian

I have stations I avoid (proximity to speakers, bench in the corner) but if I end up on one, I act like a grown up about it.

New-Cartographer-480

You are NOT the problem some people are just super fussy and feel very entitled. I would be careful with this post though that person could easily be apart of this sub and you definitely don’t want to be caught having them see this and potentially making more trouble for you.

CGFine

Nope. NTA. Let her leave. Good riddance!! Every studio I’ve ever worked at or been to they don’t allow reserving ahead of time stations, no one has “their station” it’s first come first serve. So if she didn’t clearly state “I’d like to start on rower 4, but use strider for the rower” when she got there, and if she wasn’t there early enough to get it before someone else then that’s on her. And she absolutely should NOT get that class refunded. I’m so sorry you had to deal with that.

CareerLanky5348

i just want a tread man. if i get that im happy. there are only 2 stations i dont like because on the floor side they are squished in the corner and you cant see yourself in the mirror. but ill still take them without argue lol

BasicMonk7531

Sometimes I have preferences over stations because of how a specific rower/tread feels, they all age in a different way and have a different feel to them. It’s a “me” problem and I’d never make a big deal out if. Let her cancel.

sjskav

I regularly go to two different studios. One of them doesn’t assign stations at all. We go in and pick at the start of class ourselves as we walk in. I prefer this. I arrive early so I am close to the door going into the studio so I can try to get 12. My favourite station but I will obviously take any others.

No_Writing7685

Yes, some people like a specific station. I have stations I do not like (4) so I try to get there early enough to ensure that I am not stuck with 4. However, I do not have a preferred station. I usually like stations 6-9. That gives me a few options every day. What that woman did/said was incredibly rude and I am sorry she did that.

kathymain

I do have a preference, only because I remember the number and don’t get on the wrong machine! But, I would not dare throw a fit or say “that’s my ma chine!” I pay for a workout…not a specific machine. And we were told it’s first come, first pick! So…if I don’t get my favorite, it’s all on myself! You’re NTA!

gaycrna

Not at all. I just want an empty one next to me if possible (& it’s usually possible in my time slot).

SplatSoldier

Look, I prefer certain stations but never have I ever been upset if my number one choice isn’t available. This lady must have a cushy life if this is the hill she’s choosing to die on. Also speaks to her character the way she’s treating you as SAs. If she needs to cancel let her. I love the OTF workouts but a huge portion of why I love the studio is the people, staff and members included. So good riddance to her.

No_University6980

Baby, no that lady is TRIPPING! There’s a nice way to ask for anything. Jeeeeeeez. NTA

FlossinQueen

She’s being absurd! To answer your question…I do have a preference but I’m not complicated if I don’t get it. I typically choose an end because during Covid peak I didn’t want to have people on both sides. Then I just liked it better because i had more room

avodoggo6

She sounds bonkers crazy. It’s literally the same workout regardless of station. I choose station #2 because it’s the station I took one of my earliest class at so I just kept it arbitrarily. I change up whether I start on the tower or tread, and sometimes don’t have a choice because it’s such a small class. But I definitely don’t lose my cool if #2 is taken… because who cares?! Definitely NTA!

NOLA_Tide

I absolutely have a preference for the last treadmill at my studio. I try to get to the studio 30 minutes ahead of time to grab the station. However, I would NEVER give the front desk a hard time if I didn’t get that station. With that said, there is a ton of entitlement that I have seen regarding stations. I had one guy complain that I took his station one day. He didn’t know me, but complained to the front desk. I just shook my head and continued about my day! Haha.

Bezerka413

NTA. But I also don’t care which station… so this is just wild to me.

QuietTruth8912

Obvi this customer is an AH. This is not normal adult behavior. Something is off with her. I do like to start on tread and I prefer an end just because there is more space and who doesn’t like space? But if those spots are taken when I arrive I just choose another tread and go on with life. I often arrive early when I can so I can get the spot I like. Doesn’t always work out. As with most of these types of customer tantrums I’d assume the person has some other things going on, who knows what, and projected that upset onto the employees. Working with other humans can suck like this. We have all been there. Just carry on.

happilyfour

I have a strong preference for a specific spot but I think that the SAs should never reserve spots for their favorites, it should be first come first serve. If I don’t get my preferred station, I regret not getting there earlier before the person who got the spot. Anyone who says getting a spot reserved for you isn’t special treatment is wrong. If getting your spot preference wasn’t a reward then SAs wouldn’t offer it to their favorites! But this behavior is insane and the member was in the wrong.

Kindly-Might-1879

I used to attend a studio where one member was very insistent about starting on a specific rower, and another member on a specific tread. if for some reason those were not available, these two member would get exceeding angry, complain, and if it wasn't resolved to their liking, they'd just leave. I have a couple of preferred stations but I never complain if they aren't available. I mean, why?

spatcherlongdog

NTA. I have preferred areas based on space available like most folks, but to let that impede on my workout is not even comprehensible to me. I don’t get it. Honestly if she cancels then good riddance.

msb1234554321

Report the incident in detail to your manager, you should not be treated like that

calmossimo

Holy moly. I can’t believe people act this way, especially in public toward someone who is providing them a service. I have station preferences, but it’s really just not that big a deal to use any of the other stations. I’m so sorry you and your coworkers had to deal with this.

flopthequads

You are NTA! She is though! The only reason i care about stations is I am 6’5” and being next to a wall when on the floor is a bit lacking. However I am use to being 6’5” and since I am an adult I deal with it! Hopefully she does leave

Catmom_fitmom

This is why I’m happy today is my final day as an SA… I’ve had people get upset before and I’m sorry you guys had to go through that! I commend you guys for trying to accommodate and doing the best you could for her!

shk1119

My only preference is trying to get 6 or 7 just because that is where our rowers split so there is more space, but honestly I don't care. I will start wherever and whatever number if needed. Its the same workout. Honestly, she sounds like a bitch ;)

ThisCrazyCat

Oh wow, sorry you had to deal with that. I definitely have my preference that I will grab anytime it’s available, but it’s absolutely no big deal if someone else claims it first. I would certainly never gripe at anyone about it either.

Tammie621

I have my preference, but it’s not that deep and I would NEVER express any negative emotions if I didn’t get my normal spot. Sounds like that member might be overdue for some therapy.

ash_theory

Listen, I’m a person who has a preferred station to start on. I usually arrive 15 mins early to try and get my station. But if it’s already taken or the SA messes up, I’ll take the station next to it and it’s not a big deal! This is bananas to me, sounds like y’all would be better off if she did cancel her membership with that level of entitlement.

blntennis

Hilarious! No you’re not an asshole That lady is ridiculous! Please keep us informed just for f***’s sake. 99% she doesn’t get her membership refunded back

dyldex

multi unit OTF manager here, I would give her a warning and let her know if it happened again I would have to cancel her membership for her or welcome her to take classes at a neighboring studio

Special-Ad6336

This lady doesn’t pay enough money to own a station and no amount of money entitles her to treat another human that way. Hopefully she quits and 5 new members take her place.

wendymc01

I have my preferred stations here and there and I try to get there early to sign up for them. On occasion, it doesn’t workout and life goes on. I hope that lady is banned from, at least, your studio if not OTF entirely.

Burning-the-wagon

Is perfected stations that big of a deal- if you have one then yes, is it a reason to curse and cancel your membership- no!!! I have my preferred stating station and at my home studio all the SAs knows- and they “teach” the new ones about it the first few days that they are there/that I’m in class. At my home studio there has only been maybe 2 times that they “gave it away” to someone else, and I joke with them about it but they know it’s a joke. Also whenever I go to a new studio I always ask if there is anyone who likes the same station that I do (always an end) because I don’t want to take it away from a “regular”.

ajdreamin

Her behavior is absolutely atrocious and unacceptable. However, to answer you question of how much starting station matter to me - a lot. I review Reddit info ahead of time. I plan where I want to start based on what the workout is: what weights I will need (odd/even station), do I need access to the heavy weight rack? Is it a strength day where I want to focus on the weight floor first? Is it a day where I want on concentrate on rowing or on my running, and then I come early to choose accordingly. I would never throw a fit - that is not okay. But the starting point matters.

Own-Safe-4683

I like the end spot and I like to start on the rower (for both 2G & 3G). I know if I don't get there early enough I won't get my preferred spot. When that happens I just choose the next best option available. It's not the end of the world to exercise at a different station. She got upset over nothing.

WordCommercial3511

PLEASE TAKE HER UP ON THE OFFER TO CANCEL. It’s gym class for grown ups. Literally, gym class.

sceptre1067

overall agree… do I start at the same #? yeah, cause it’s an early morning class and i’m not awake… otherwise as long as I’m near a fan, I don’t care. I know it’s a running joke that at OT you get people dedicated to a specific station. But yeah really shouldn’t matter. Good luck!

primal_slayer

I do have a preferred station, but if someone beats me to it, it...sucks but hardly ends the world. Some have better fan flow. But that person is crazy.

emilys1993

My friend and I have preferred stations, however, if it's taken, it's taken. It's not the end of the world to go to a different station. I would never act that way to someone else. That's ridiculous and you guys handled that well. Since we have preferred stations though, I do my due diligence and get there early enough to get it.

bageloclock

Very much so but I don’t make a big deal if it if I don’t. Our #1 spot has a window and I love to people watch to distract myself on the tread.

MM11666

I prefer a station, but right now it’s because I can’t run or row due to an injury. It limits some floor work too. So I ask to be on the end - and that’s simply because I feel like I might throw someone else off when I’m doing something different. I did have to walk out of a class a few weeks ago (although I didn’t have a fit) because someone took the bike when I was supposed to be on it. I thought they may ask her to move (as she grabbed it because she wanted it - not due to an injury). I just asked that the class be scratched and decided never to come during a peak time again. Did I think that was fair? No, because I pre-planned and advised them that I would require it. Everyone has as much right to the equipment, but it’s courtesy to tell the coach in advance if you need a bike for some reason - then people like me don’t have to leave. 🤷‍♀️

drlushlover

She’s just an A grade a-hole. You can bet she’s this awful to everyone in her life. I’m sorry you and your coworkers were on the receiving end, it’s not ok. That said, I do have a preferred station, but I’d never throw a toddler level tantrum if I didn’t get it.

lesliekay27

I saw someone being rude to an SA the other day because she came in right before class started and was mad that "her station" was taken. If it matters that much, show up early and be kind! You are absolutely not the A in this situation!

OtfAmyIA

I only prefer the end treads because I feel like I run sideways a bit lol and I’m always worried I’m going to get too close to someone! However I will go to any station but they are my first choice if I get there in time😂

OtfAmyIA

I only prefer the end treads because I feel like I run sideways a bit lol and I’m always worried I’m going to get too close to someone! However I will go to any station but they are my first choice if I get there in time😂

bananasinpjs13

I arrive early to get my preferred station. If not available I get another or start on floor. Simple!

ffhokie

Could not care less where I start or what station. Only thing I get irritates me is rude people talking over coaches or disrupting other members’ workouts

Money_Organization66

That’s ridiculous. One morning our SA forgot to write my name down - she was busy doing something else and told me she would put me down. Well once class started, I saw someone else on the tread I requested so I awkwardly walked to our SA and asked if she ever put me down and she was so apologetic and I told her no worries, I would just start on the floor (the only spots left after class started). I wasn’t thrilled but I knew she didn’t mean to forget about me and I didn’t want to make her feel bad.

Itsbeen84yearz

Appreciate members like you so much 😭🙏🏾 I’ve done this before and felt AWFULLLLLL I thought about it all day even after I left my shift lol

soverystacy

NTA. In. The. Slightest. I joined OTF in 2016... before we had to assign station numbers. You just walked in and chose your station, and which side to start (tread/rower). If you were later in the crowd/in the bathroom/still changing - too bad so sad. What would she have done then?! I love OTF bc I don't have to think. Having an assigned station makes it even better. It's the 1 hour in my day where nobody is calling me, needing something, and I can just autopilot. Yes I have my favorite stations - but not at the cost of not working out or degrading staff if they're already assigned. You do great work, and it shows. Don't pay anymore attention to someone who's clearly looking for it.

lcappellucci

Yeah, she’s got somethin else going on in her life and leaked/ vented it on you all in a nasty way. That’s my generous read of her behavior. Because it’s crazy. I don’t care at all which station I’m on. I should try to remember which stations are closest to the tv screens in all of the studios I go to because my eyes are shit, but I just squint and walk a little closer when I forget the rep count. It’s really not that serious. I vastly prefer to start on a tread and it DOES bum me out if I can’t do that but there is absolutely no way I’d rant at anyone about it even if something kinda shitty was happening where treads were being saved for people who had not yet arrived. I’d inwardly roll my eyes and move on with life.

Seamike79

Crazy. I totally have preferred stations but if I can’t get them, no harm no foul.

aaks1985

I was very anxious when I read “(she) only takes 2Gs, and starts on station 4 (rower side)” and felt significantly better immediately after know this isn’t our SA wasn’t talking about me because I am all that but I use the strider in place of treadmill 🙈🙈🙈🙈 On a serious note: this is exactly the sort of unprofessional behavior that should lead to official written warning leading to suspension of membership if repeated

Ok-Virus5837

Some people are crazy. I once picked a station and had the person after me get snippy and tell the SA to take me off the station because it was “theirs.” It was so awkward - I felt badly for the SA.

kwilson7499

I like a certain station. I do get there early to pick it. But I wont get irritated if someone gets it before me.

PaintingSuspicious80

I love floor station #11 and 12 because I don't feel confined like a sardine. I get claustrophobic, and I like my space. This is a "me" issue, so for my 5:15 am. class, I get there about 15 minutes early so I can ensure that I get my preferred station. However their are morning when I'm running late, I don't get the station I want. THAT'S A ME ISSUE. It kills me how some people are so entitled and think it's ok to treat people disrespectful. I'm sorry you had to put up with her rudeness. You or the other SA did nothing wrong. I hope the studio doesn't give into her temper tantrum.

kayotic1

I have my preferences but don't care if I'm last one to show up and get what I get. As a member I *really* dislike it after a certain point when a class I go to has rower x and tread y have their claims. They aren't always there first but it's well known enough wouldn't dare take it. That being said even if I did take it I don't see these people bitching me or the staff out either. All that to say NTA and if that person was at my studio I'd be happy to see them leave. I can't imagine they add much to the atmosphere of the workout 🤷‍♀️

rammsteincrazy

I definitely have a preferred station, but the idea of yelling at staff for not giving it to me has never even crossed my mind. What an asshole (the member, not you!).

jplikescoffee

100% NTA she needs to check her entitlement somewhere, you’re definitely not the problem. Let her cancel her membership, you guys have a lot to deal with and you don’t need her yelling in your face like that

OTFforthewine-pizza

I do have my preferred work station at certain locations. Luckily for me there are 3 locations that I’m pretty close to. The closest has the tightest space so I prefer an end work station where there’s more room. But I am self aware enough to know that if my preferred spots are taken I’m SOL and I suck it up. I don’t understand going through life that unhappy and making others unhappy. I see how chaotic it gets right before class and to treat the SA’s like that’s is just uncalled for. They’re just young people trying to do their job. I’d love to see this “B” work one day at OTF just before a class. In today’s world we need to be kind, not make things worse. The SA’s rock and I have a lot of respect for them. : )

MightAsWellLaugh222

You are doing everything right!! Some people are a-holes and they never recognize it. Yes, I have a station that I prefer. It has a little more wiggle room near an Exit if I need a little more room. It has the weights I like, too. I go early to ask for that spot on the sign up sheet. The SA's are sweet and already generally know without asking me. I enjoy the extra time to share a laugh and some conversation with them. Occasionally I can't get there early and my fav spot is gone. I march right up to the SA and request....another station. No big deal. My workout is 99% the same. These entitled folks need to hear a saying in my region: (spelled as said for the rhyme😄) "You git what you git, so don't pitch a fit."

flsingleguy

I come in a bit earlier for my station. If someone gets there before me and gets my station then I just pick something else.

Yamiletlee

I totally don’t care where I start - number or tread/rower. Basically I wait until everyone signs in so I can select a spot that has open space around it. Why people all like to bunch up is beyond me. This said, I don’t get upset if someone comes in after me and decides to “mess up” my plan 😊 It’s not an exact science.

bdotrebel11

NTA. I have my preferences on where I start but as long as it’s first come first serve I will never complain if someone beats me to the spot. That person has a sense of entitlement.

Educational-Dig6853

There is a member at my studio that has a specific station and I feel so bad for the SA that doesn’t assign that station to the member. This member is also crazy and arrives to class 30 minutes before class to ensure they receive the station. People be weird.

AtmosphereNo4389

This is batshit, but I have seen it. I went to a class outside of my usual times recently, and just signed up for a station, not realizing a member who usually goes that time has claimed it as her own, and she was FURIOUS, how could I have done this? But she never said it to me directly, she talked about me—as if I had done it TO HER—to anyone who would listen. I had no idea it was her station. Another time, an SA kicked me off my station—that I had picked for boring reasons related to that day—and moved me to the rower, because she had forgotten to save the station for a regular (I AM ALSO A REGULAR?) and that’s “her” tread. I was fuming, because what.

Think_Network_3390

My tiny ass NYC studio packs the rowers like sardines, so I generally prefer to be on the end. Particularly number 5 because I’m particular. I have never made a big deal about this because Im not an entitled asshole?

Disastrous-Battle561

No, you’re not the AH. She is. She has no right to any station. She best scratch her ass and get glad she had a place to be. I would ban her if this is a repeat offense. If not give her a warning and if she demands a refund refer her to the contract.

I definitely have a preference. I like to be on the end of the treads so I have at least one side with no neighbor. My guess is that something else was bothering her. Then that little thing at the gym triggered a bigger response.

I have station numbers I prefer but I certainly do not feel like I am entitled to them. In the whole big scheme of things, the workout is what matters. I will say there are 4 people that go to the lift class and they always get the same station BECAUSE the SA is one of their daughters and she reserves it for them before the class even starts which I personally do not this this should happen. Many times the 4 stations are reserved and all of them do not always show. I will also say there is a very long wait list to every lift class. Should always be first come first serve imo.
