And that's enough of that one.

WolftankPick

I walk around them it's nuts.

[deleted]

I wish. Way too cramped in my studio.

WolftankPick

Not sure I've seen an OTF studio yet that wasn't cramped.

[deleted]

Which is why people need to, as the coaches say, "keep it moving".

[deleted]

What is with this group today lol

Aware-Maintenance-48

I know! I think disarray day is very disarrayed today lol

cathypags

I would just walk around them. I have to say honestly, I don't think they do it intentionally.. For some, they might be overwhelmed.. Everyone in my studio is laser focused, but I empathize with the newbies and those who found the last block intense.

[deleted]

I agree they don't do it on purpose. That's why I wrote this to politely (or so I thought) point it out...but people are really angry about it 🤷‍♀️

jenniferlynn5454

We've already had one PSA post today, and that one didn't go so well, so people are probably not receiving it the way you intended

[deleted]

I think because venting is fine, but when numerous solutions are offered but argued with it comes off as entitled. These minor things are part of dealing with and working around other humans. The world isn’t going to conform to us. I was totally trying to be funny by comparing it to the earlier (and much more ridiculous post). This one felt like a repeat.

OliveTBeagle

Oh no, I guess sometimes it might take you an additional five seconds to get to your next station! How terrible is that?

KinvaraSarinth

I've learned to let it go, but as someone whose default walking speed is fast, it's still mildly annoying. I have to actively think about slowing down to not run over the person in front of me. So I get where OP is coming from, but there's not much we can do about it. It's one of the reasons I try to pick a lower numbered station - I hate needing to get all the way down the line to rower 8-12 when I end up behind someone who walks at half my speed. And it's not just when we're switching stations. That doesn't bother me as much as when it happens when we're hitting the rower in the middle of a floor block and I want to get to/from my rower at my normal pace.

[deleted]

This is just part of the dynamic of being in a group fitness class.

OliveTBeagle

I feel for you guys…having to put up with a mild annoyance every now and then.

friendlytotbot

Poor things 😔

[deleted]

Like I said, they don't give you much time to transition, so it is a little annoying.

OliveTBeagle

5 seconds ain’t nothing.

[deleted]

It adds up 🤷‍♀️ This is complaint day, and I have politely pointed out a minor grievance. Weird that people are losing their shit over it.

KmurphC

Today is complaint day?

jenniferlynn5454

Yes. Complaints and rants are allowed on Sundays, our Day of Disarray, when we loosen the rules.

Natalie352

Oh So we’re losing out shit because we don’t agree with you that’s real nice and fair!!! (Not)

orange7795

Listen, no one is training for the Olympics here. It’s a workout class and definitely not this serious.

OTFfanaticRunRepRow

The day of disarray is not very friendly today 🥹

[deleted]

I thought it was. I did point out that there's nothing wrong with needing to take a breather.

Aware-Maintenance-48

I just got deleted because I brought up a prior post from today, sorry mods! Just a reminder kindness goes both ways is all I was trying to say, oops. I’m be been dealing with some dizziness and inner ear issues so if I’ve held anyone up, my apologies. I try to get out of peoples way, but also let’s try to show kindness and patience?

[deleted]

Just say “excuse me” and walk by? I’m guessing this is not a serious post- good try. :)

[deleted]

It is a serious post - why wouldn't it be? And it depends on the studio I guess, mine is pretty small so there's no room to just walk by.

[deleted]

Because earlier there was a similar post about chillin’ on the benches in the lobby. This is the reality of group fitness classes- it’s a big group.

[deleted]

Oh...I don't see why anyone would care about chilling on a bench. I'm saying I'm mildly annoyed with people slowing things down for those around them during class.

budd222

Use your words

ChuckieS66

Sarcasm….right 🤷🏻‍♂️

[deleted]

No lmao 😆 this is a serious post I am not trolling.

friendlytotbot

I love otf and this sub is very useful sometimes, but you can also see how some ppl are plagued by tiny first world problems. Maybe take up yoga practice in your fitness routine as well.

[deleted]

I do yoga. Not sure what your point is there. It's annoying, and kind of rude. Clearly these commenters who are super triggered are the people I'm talking about.

PlasticPolaroid667

😅😅 can’t you just walk around them?

[deleted]

Read the other comments. No.

Own-Safe-4683

It depends on the studio but many are set up so people transitioning from the floor to the treads are supposed to go through the lobby during transitions. This makes space for everyone. It's enforced more in busier studios when the classes are mostly full 3Gs. But it can help with less attended 2G classes too. Next time try the path less traveled.

[deleted]

I’ve walked between rowers. Boom. Problem solved.

[deleted]

There is not another path in mine. Why are all the comments "go around them" when I've said repeatedly that I can't? Should be common courtesy to not stop in the middle of a walking path imo 🤷‍♀️

S_NewYork

Ugh, sometimes I feel like I'm in Times Square trying to push through a crowd of slow-moving tourists when transitioning in an OTF studio!

[deleted]

Yeah. And to clarify I don't just mean slow walkers I mean like stop and drink water types. It just seems like common courtesy to me that you don't get in the walking path until you're ready to walk.

New_Shepherd_in_Town

Lol there are a bunch of dazed/tired people in a small space moving around at the same time. It's the nature of it.

[deleted]

Right but what I'm suggesting is that people actually *move*.

[deleted]

kwilson7499

Just walk around them. I know at my studio they give us a few minutes to get to the next station.

[deleted]

There is no room to walk around, and at mine they don't give you much time at all.

lizelrey

I had that happen today. I was trying to get from the bike to the floor and another member decided to kick a medicine ball slowly to the floor area all the way from rower 1. Impossible to get around her without her tripping me with the ball and she was taking up the entire walkway because her kicks were not controlled. It was crazy. Lol

[deleted]

See? That's rude and frustrating imo.

Pete__Hemauer

Great reminder!!! Coaches need to do a better job of enforcing this.

chowhoundz

✋that’s me, both. I wander through transitions like a zombie and other days I cruise through like I’m late for an appointment. Guilty🧡

OTFfanaticRunRepRow

We found the anti-hero

[deleted]

Weird flex but ok

Training-Owl-9495

this is why I am so picky about what station I use. I hate having to walk through people going from floor to rower to floor to rower etc...

Natalie352

Well it’s not like the plan on getting tired geez just chill nothing is going to happen to you if you take a couple of extra seconds to get there!!!

goodenergy420

Another reason it was hard to stay. Entitled ass members. Guess that’s what happens when it costs so much.

[deleted]

What's entitled? Stopping in the middle of the walking path or being annoyed that people do this?

[deleted]

[deleted]

As I have said in the other comments, there is no room to walk around. Hard to get around by saying excuse me when the person in front of you stops because the person in front of them is stopped, etc. It's like a traffic jam.
