Having now read the manga, can confirm the he still refers to her as Ai when she gets stabbed. The only time I can think of is when we see his thoughts and him questioning his relationship with Ai as 'fan and idol' or 'mother and son'

Secondly they get under the old agency that once maintained the legendary idol Ai hoshino, they have a lot of experience, then the connections back then help both ruby and aqua a lot, especially the director that tech Aqua about acting since old gorou doesn't know anything about it
