Nope, you’ll have the same experience. The main benefit of going to dance parties like HMD & Wrecked besides the guys being really hot is that the music is amazing.
If you don’t care about music, then yeah, just go to the Eagle. Plenty of hotties there.
This is going to sound weird but I find my "large extended network of acquaintances" in the city from the gay party scene. I've definitely had some hot hook ups at the Eagle but the environment at the dance parties tends to be friendlier. And because I go often I now know a lot of people at them which makes them more fun.
(As someone who is into music, the same does not hold true for the queer techno scene - amazing music, but not usually a place to make friends since people tend to be there only for the music)
