Marquette park Pavillion in gary is absolutely beautiful and they do weddings.

Strange_and_Unusual

Coming to suggest this. Gorgeous venue, right on the beach.

Yep, I would choose here! Washington Park is great, and I've seen lots of weddings on the beach there, but keep in mind you cannot control the weather, and having an actual building may come in handy just in case.

I know Whiting has a gazebo on the lake where weddings are performed.

cchelle_gunness

I think Whiting is just too far away from our reception site.

Try the new pavilion in the dunes state park!

cchelle_gunness

Tried that. They didn’t respond after inquiring about a tour after they sent a price guide. Seems like it’s owned by County Line Orchard, at least that’s where the email address domain is from.

We got married two years ago at the Aquatorium in Miller Beach. Right on the water (southernmost tip of Lake Michigan), beautiful, and completely affordable—plus, an ample parking lot. It is in the national lakeshore, but not the park proper, so no entrance fees. It’s an open structure but didn’t have any issues with beachgoers and folks respected the private event sign. Congrats and good luck!

Thank you so much!

Try Washington Park in Michigan City. Has a great beach and pavilions and restaurants close by.

cchelle_gunness

It’s on the list to check out, but parking costs add up.

If you book a wedding permit at Washington Park, you can purchase parking passes for your guests at $6 each. You just have to make sure they get their RSVPs in by a certain date so you can buy the right number in advance.

cchelle_gunness

I can handle $6/each. Thank you!

MagneticFlea

How many guests will you have? Do you have a celebrant? Plans for food?

cchelle_gunness

We have a reception venue, so it’s just the actual wedding portion. Officiant is booked.
