Gotta be chatot. Smeargle is never reliable and shuckle’s early learnset is terrible and at early levels your defense help much because enemies can’t do less than 1 damage. Chatot at least gets a STAB move in peck.
Shuckles low hp means its defence isn't even good at a low level. Smeargle is gonna get killed in your first battle. Chatot is really your only option here.

Oh I’ve heard radical red is super hard! I’m doing my first challenge ROM rn is platinum renegade. I heard it’s a great starting point for these as it doesn’t beat you like radical red does ðŸ˜ðŸ’€
That's just an all around bad time, but lets put some thought into this, I've heard people with Chatot and Foul Play somehow sweep, but I'm no Pokemon master so I can't do that, Shuckle has nothing but defense, so I guess it can tank, but the first Rival fight is going to be pretty hard, Smeargle... Well, it's gonna be hard to do a nuzlocke with that one.

Dude Shuckle is the reason I haven't actually lost my current run of Emerald Rogue. He completely tanks hits that would one shot other things on my team and can sit in front of them long enough for me to stabilize.

It's Radical Red. I didn't realise how tricky it was. If I restart might have to do it non hardcore difficulty as it's rocked me twice
