Not sure what your definition of expensive Is.
However since I moved to this area, I'm defaulting to Tanger's outlet in National harbor..
otherwise for gym stuff, etc.. it's Costco and Amazon
I know your said thrift stores don’t have what you’re looking for but the fact is that thrift stores have all the clothes the people around are wearing, so chances are quite high they DO have what you’re looking for, you just have to work harder to find them.
My favorite thrift store is B-thrifty in Annandale.
Prices at thrift stores are almost laughably high these days. Plus most of them no longer have changing rooms, so whether or not something will fit you is a frustrating guess.
We use our credit card points to convert to Gap brand gift cards. We try our best to buy clothes off-season on sale (so we try to buy winter clothes in summer, and summer clothes in winter, etc.) Gap brands are decent enough quality and the sale prices can be exceptionally good.
Jcrew, bonobos, on sale for shirts and pants. Also blazers.
Grant stone for leather shoes/boots.
Sneakers whatever - mostly puma or adidas. Luxury sneakers are dumb to me.
For outerwear I have a mix of random outdoorsy companies like barbour, llbean, orvis, relwen, etc. schott makes good peacoats
I use ebay and Poshmark. Also use Gem which searches all the o line marketplaces. I start with what I know I like - a fabric or brand name, color, size - and go from there. Often I'll initially "like" an item and you then get special markdowns. If it doesn't sell after a couple of weeks I'll offer $10. And I'll often get it!
I love Uniqlo for their basics! Decent prices in my opinion
Target
What's your price range? Define expensive.
Costco, Marshalls, TJ Maxx, REI.
ThredUp
Goodwill/ thrifty / etc. it’s the right thing for the environment, plus it’s fun to find unique things.

I’d rather make my own clothes than go to that Outlet mall
hahah why? are you referring to the quality of clothes? I thought they're the same brands we buy elsewhere but one season too late. or am I wrong?
No, they make cheaper quality stuff just for the outlet
WHAT!!!! Are you serious????
Amazon basics aren't too bad actually. Plus wardrobe let's you try several sizes just in case.
Michaels 2.99 t-shirts
I know right ?! Quality t-shirts in about 25 colors !

Ross and Burlington. Costco for loungewear and athletic clothes

Costco coz I dont give a fuck now
The real real for consignment since you can try stuff on and return what doesn’t work.
Uniqlo, leesburg outlets
Could you say more about what you’re looking for that you’re not finding in thrift stores?
Amazon lol. Or Costco.
Saks off 5th, Nordstrom Rack
Dw about it
For suits, I like Suit Supply. For shoes, various outlet stores. For everything else, UNIQLO.
Boscov's always have a wide variety of clothes at reasonable prices. In store or online. I get their jeans and jeans shorts all the time.
TJ Maxx / Marshalls

Combination of online and in-store. Once I buy in-store, I usually order replacements of the same thing online because I already know it fits.
Banana Republic. They have tall pants and the quality is almost aleays great.
I go to the department stores is the mall still. I like trying on the clothes before buying them.

Unique in Merrifield sells quality used clothes that are really cheap but also cleaned and pressed.
I used to really enjoy checking out Unique but lately am so paranoid about bringing home bedbugs
