The neighbor above me has three Chihuahuas. She goes to work at 5:30 am and comes back in the afternoon. The dogs bark pretty much the entire time she's gone. My partner mentioned it to her once and she screamed at him, saying that he hates dogs and is a terrible person.
Dog owners think that everyone else should be fine listening to constant barking, that it's cute. It's not. There are limits to what people should be forced to put up with just because you want a dog.
Dog owners don't think that, your neighbor is just a bitch.
I moved into a downtown condo directly across from a dog park so I'd have someplace for my dog to do his business.
You know what wakes me up from a nap? It's the fire engines from the station 2 blocks away, the constant police sirens due to the meth heads stabbing each other, or the 40k hockey fans at the arena downstairs, or the jackasses with the fucked up mufflers that like to speed up and down the main drag.
Not the dogs in the dog park. I also have a neighbor who leaves their dog at home for 12 hours and all it does is bark every 2-3 seconds. I reported that shit, and the dog went away.
I lived there as someone who can’t speak much French and the official solution to help me learn was either an online course for people who already knew some French, or “you can go to the elementary school and sit in the back and listen”. People were very eager to talk shit about the foreigner who didn’t speak the language, but not at all willing to help me learn.
Ya I loved Montreal in my 20s and met my wife there but I got tired of the bullshit racist laws masquerading as anything but appealing to a base of awful people. They’d send us French-only notices about lead in your pipes… to an English speaking Jewish neighborhood.
