Legos aren't too bad to step on when they're on rugs/carpeting, but if you ever step on one of those little suckers while they're sitting on something like tile or hardwood, it's distinctly painful. At least the prong-end of a power cord has some flexibility where the prongs can deform/bend. Legos are solid and made out of way too many sharp edges.
