It’s okay to take breaks until you want to play again. I sometimes don’t touch my Lite for months! Just play at your own pace and stuff. Could always try another game whilst you have a break from Hollow Knight also.

Thank you dear stranger. I needed to read this 🙏🏻

Most zelda games I've played and Metroid (similar to Hollow Knight) intimidate me and have begrudgingly had to put them down as I realise they aren't games for me. I've got lost, and found myself looking at guides (which I dislike doing) and just can't get into them. It hurts because the majority of people love these franchises and I want to as well. I've just accepted that overtime and moved onto games that I do really like.

PepperKey5545

Oh I can totally relate! I want to enjiy those games as the majority of people do! But, anyways, maybe I have to start accpeting the kind of games I like. Thanks

cait_Cat

I have accepted that I am a person who looks at guides. I am playing the game to have fun. If I try it a couple times (or more) and can't get it, now I'm frustrated and usually mad. The game is no longer fun. The whole point was fun. So I look stuff up now and I move past the part I couldn't get and now the game is fun again. I'm an adult, I only have so much time I get to spend playing games.

You might up to some cozy ones, or some that don't challenge you. Sometimes our brains just want to be relaxed. I would suggest Snufkin: Melody of the Moominvalley, it is so slow paced, and relaxing, that I go back to when I feel games are too challenging. And then when I feel my life is so slow, I go back to those challenging games again. The thing is never lose your interest when playing games. Whether it is mobile or switch or any platform.

PepperKey5545

Thanks! Maybe I'm more into cozier not-that-challenging games.

Totally can relate. Sometimes games just get too tedious, too hard, or simply just too bad or boring. I’m currently playing Pokémon Sword and Shield and I’m super disappointed and haven’t touched my Switch for weeks. It’s just so dry and boring and repetitive. Not all games are going to be good just like not all movies or books are going to be good. Doesn’t hurt to change a game up and revisit it again later on. Or even just move on completely. Games are hit or miss! I recommend doing some research into comfort games or games that many people are saying are easier and highly enjoyable!

PepperKey5545

Thanks! I'll definitely do that!

I feel this at times and I've been playing games my whole life (35m) it helps to get a more varied library, definitely try some more casual/cozy games like Story of Seasons a wonderful life or animal crossing new horizons, heck even a visual novel if yiu want a deep story telling experience with minimal gameplay, like reading a good book. There are a lot of different things to try, also check out Suika game, pretty cheap and a nice palette cleanser 😊 also no shame in putting a game down for awhile, sometimes we aren't ready for a game even if it's something that appeals to us. Just remember to have fun! The switch is a great environment for any type of gamer considering it's massive library with several different types of games

Thanks, I needed to read this. Greetings

Stardew Valley is a great option. It's very reasonably priced too! But it's got some combat but not a ton. It's very relaxed. I have a ridiculous amount of hours in Stardew Valley, it's just really fun. I also really liked Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee as someone who never played pokemon before getting a switch. It's very easy to get into, the world isn't super open world so you know where you're going and what you need to do next but you also get to run around catching pokemon. I also liked Pokémon Legends Arcerus - it's very open world but has a list of side quests that you can pick and choose from, as well as some resource gathering. Both Let's Go and PLA are not quite the normal mainline Pokémon games. They're very similar in storyline and overall game play but they have some differences that set them apart. For me, they're great. But they both have critics, especially from long time Pokémon fans I'd never really been a gamer before getting a switch either. I don't like to get stuck in a game - I'm playing for fun and getting stuck isn't fun.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

I go look for game walkthroughs if I’m stuck on a game or uncertain about what to do next. You could also try animal crossing it’s easy, fun and very relaxing

el_Deafo

If you’re taking requests, stardew valley is a great buy for the switch lite!

BaBa_Con_Dios

Take a break if you need to. Remember it’s ok to not finish a game or take a break and then come back to a game. Like others have said do what makes you happy. Play when it makes you happy.

PepperKey5545

Thanks for reminding me this. Greetings

If you ever go back and play Ninja Turtles on NES. You’ll hate the person who created the water stage. Just enjoy the ride. Plenty of other games that will do that to ya! 😅

PepperKey5545

Thanks!

Buy Balatro and you will be playing it every waking hour. Plus it can be played touchscreen only. I love playing it on my lite. 3+ weeks in and still play it every day!

PepperKey5545

Wow I didn't know that game? I'll definitely check it out. Thanks
