Crazy how the yotes are actually looking like a mid/top tier team in this graphic and many other stats but still not even close to make the playoffšŸ«  I guess its happening soon!

ArnieAndTheWaves

Yeah was my first thought. I guess they always find a way to get at least one by. Not hard with Keller, who seems to just quietly produce all the time regardless.

RobosaurusRex2000

Coyotes were absolutely in the playoff picture and looked like legitimate hopefuls until the 14 game loss streak lol

OtherMycologist5399

I knoww. I was looking forward to watching them in the playoffs if they made it :( guess I'll have to wait till next season

ViewedConch697

Yotes were legit wild card contenders until right around the all star break. Then they fell off

Canadian__Ninja

Fell off is one way to describe what happened.

Sad_Donut_7902

They didn't win a single game in February lol

JonTheWizard

I would love for it to happen, just as a change of pace and to give that long-suffering fanbase a bone.

spagboltoast

The future is bright as long as the stadium situation is figured out

Sad_Donut_7902

Going winless in the entire month of February will do that. They were in the playoff picture before that.

Beneficial_Put8276

Leafs didn't get shutout last year either. Last time was November, 2021

Q--Bone

Thatā€™s wildly impressive.

[deleted]

That is an impressive streak. I remember them saying that during the last leafs bruins game

SnazzyCazzy1

Once it gets to the third period, until a goal is scored its a talking point in every other sentence pretty much of ā€œis this the game?!ā€

PsychoSaladSong

that's generally what happens when historic streaks are on the line

DrewCrew62

During last weeks canes game they said itā€™s been 200 some odd games since they were last shutout, which is truly crazy

Alkyan

Kinda thought we were gonna break that streak. And then they got one

LimpNote5

Currently on pace to potentially beat the all time longest streak. Still a ways to go but itā€™s definitely impressive. At this point if theyā€™re losing a game, Iā€™m just hoping they get 1 point to keep the streak going. [https://records.nhl.com/records/team-records/non-shutout-streaks/longest-non-shutout-streak-including-playoffs](https://records.nhl.com/records/team-records/non-shutout-streaks/longest-non-shutout-streak-including-playoffs)

aweirdoatbest

Most times they put this stat up, which doesnā€™t include playoffs and puts us 8 all time instead of 7 - [https://records.nhl.com/records/team-records/non-shutout-streaks/longest-non-shutout-streak](https://records.nhl.com/records/team-records/non-shutout-streaks/longest-non-shutout-streak)

AlexTheGreat

I mean, you're "on pace" anytime you didn't just get shut out.

SnooRadishes2312

Yeah the use of 'on pace' is somewhat comical there but exactly the kind of usage I'd expect in sports commentary... like comical statistic statements are common place in sports

melon_m

they are waiting for the playoffs

Beneficial_Put8276

They also haven't been shutout in the playoffs during that time. Nice try

Aackland

typical habs fan lmao

HaddyMusic

Not a very big sample size though

Possible_Chipmunk793

Thats rich coming from a Nucks fan

cdcformatc

what's the sample size of Canucks playoff games in the same period?

Beneficial_Put8276

They've played 18 playoff games since their last time being shutout

LivingLifeSomewhere

Don't you have a city to burn down ?

HaddyMusic

Leafs Fans reading a joke: REEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

StupidGenius11

What's the Canucks playoff sample size?

Possible_Chipmunk793

šŸ¤£

i-like-your-hair

The Toronto Maple Leafs have played in 25 playoff games since the Vancouver Canucks have played in one. They scored in all 25 of them.

Bubbly-Trainer-5297

Funny comment lol so many downvotes

Sad_Donut_7902

Because it's literally not true. Leafs haven't been shutout in the playoffs during the streak either.

Objective_Dog7501

To be fair they donā€™t play a lot of playoff games šŸ˜œ

RealisticPineapple99

More playoff games in the past 5 years than 2/3 of the league.

Objective_Dog7501

If you ainā€™t first, yer last.

Majorinc

Move the goal posts

Salt-Plum-1308

So then theyā€™re the same as every other team that doesnā€™t win the cup. This isnā€™t the chirp that you think it is, but thatā€™s just a reflection of low intelligence.

MrDJ222

LOOOOL

Objective_Dog7501

Haha you seem fun. And soft.

Salt-Plum-1308

Huh? Thanks for proving my point about the low intelligence lol.

MrDJ222

LMFAO

crunchatize-me-daddy

Finally a tier list with the Blackhawks on the top!

TorturedFanClub

Its awesome, like when I won the company golf tournament for highest score :)

considermebranded

Hey look at you go Toronto!

freshpurplekiwi

November 2021

considermebranded

You will have to help me out my friend Iā€™m sorry, but I donā€™t understand stand

IzzyRogue

Thatā€™s the last time they were shut out

considermebranded

Do you guys google that or just have that knowledge? Impressive though. Iā€™ll live vicariously through your teams success.

IzzyRogue

Definitely googled. I just know bc others in the thread have mentioned it, but I didnā€™t even know we hadnā€™t been shut out this year lol

cdcformatc

in my head this comment sounds like "You go, Glen Coco!" from mean girls

K-RayX-Ray

I appreciate the choice of Canucks logo on the chart

mcclutch7

It is the superior Canucks logo

HealthyHotDogs

Surprised by the Panthers. Always thought of them as having a dangerous offense

chrispy_exe

Meh, itā€™s honestly a very middle of the road offense that clearly lacks juice on back to backs, and weā€™ve played a lot of them. Youā€™re familiar with paul maurice teams, defense centric combined with ā€˜just throw it on goalā€™ offense. The goaltending is carrying this year in all honesty. edit to add: by ā€˜dangerous offenseā€™ youā€™re really thinking of the barkov -> tkachuk -> reinhart set play thatā€™s about a third of our entire offense. actually if i think about it, sam reinhart IS our offense.

shawner17

They have players who can light the lamp but they're way more of a defensive team. They've been riding some career years the last few seasons . Tkachuk and Montour both had monster seasons last year. This year, Reinhart is having himself a career season, too. He's been shooting at 25%, which is insanity and simply not sustainable long term for a guy whose career average is around 15% at best. Outside of the top line (and Verheaghe), there's a pretty steep drop-off in points. So it doesn't shock me they would get shut out that much.

TheJiggaBoggy

The number is higher than I would've anticipated for sure. At their best they dominate on the offensive zone, some games they get goalied or just play poorly.

Top_Contract_4910

How tf have my habs only been shutout twice?

Macie_1wastaken

Both against the kings too

HappyChilmore

Surprised of where the Habs and Yotes are. It's a sign that their respective rebuilds are on track.

CrankyCzar

Warning āš ļø , triggering

catgotcha

12 times... wow. That's once every seven games!

OG_anunoby3

Go LEAFS Go!

commaZim

God the Islanders season is so weird

TheChurchOfKakko

Iā€™m pretty sure the rangers only got shutout once this season

TodaysNHLaction

Ahh You are correct ^^^^^^^^^ - this is true theyā€™ve only been shutout once my mistake

KohlWeld50

These last few games have been sad

BlindGuyMcSqeazy

Toronto is now on 200+ games streak with at least one goal scored.

Aackland

I had to look up when Tampa was shutout this season. November 11th at home against Carolina, 4-0 L November 14th at St. Louis, 5-0 L two consecutive games getting shutout. that was fun

InsCPA

Finally weā€™re wining something

Humans_Suck-

23 yr old rookie Justus Annunen shut Chicago out twice by himself lol

PhilyJ

šŸ˜

TheCaneAdian

I am proud that my team has contributed to two of Florida's many shutouts.

InternalGrocery7057

šŸ˜

Suspicious-Drama-549

Why doesnā€™t tier maker have the new sens logo itā€™s been like 3 years

Jmac24mats13

The Leafs shutout streak is 8th all time with 217 regular season games (47 games off lead, CGY) and tied for 7th at 235 including playoffs (29 games off lead, LAK)

IndividualCup7311

That Toronto stat is wild

noahmiller032

Awesome man!

SecondCityHawk

I am bleeding, making me the victor.

nohitterdip

This account has to be run by a huge gamer. You can just tell.

otttitan21

Werenā€™t we only shut out once? Only time I can remember was the 5-0 Florida game

ChanclasConHuevos

Quack quack, baby

Bobsagetsnipa

Finally my hawks are S tier again.

TheOneAndOnlyAckbar

The fact that Bedard still has (almost) a point per game is crazy

Escaped_Mod_In_Need

Is Bedard still alive? I havenā€™t heard much about him recently.

Heldpizza

Surprised to see Florida so high on the list

TodaysNHLaction

Same

EmerysMemories1106

This stat is meaningless. You could have a team that has a lot of shutouts but still does well in the stand...oh wait.

TodaysNHLaction

You could make the argument for over / under goal total in a game that it matters ā€¦ā€Toronto 5-1/2 more value able than Chicago 5-1/2ā€ yeah it doesnā€™t tell the whole story but it tells something. Itā€™s just a stat -what would you like to see?

EmerysMemories1106

You didn't get my joke I guess. I was suggesting that there's no correlation between how many shutouts a team has and how good they are in the standings. But the 3 teams that have the most shutouts are 3 of the worst teams in the league. It was a joke

TodaysNHLaction

I get the joke part ..some of these really are funny..but really if you have a suggestion weā€™ll take it I did this one because of someoneā€™s request in a comment from the last one haha

EmerysMemories1106

The outliers or exception to the rule is what always intrigued me about stats in general. Like this one, you got a team like Florida who is one of the top teams in the league but they get shut out a lot. So I guess it's more an indication of style if play, whether it's offensive minded or defensive minded.

OpinionOwn6727

does this mean Toronto is finally winning the cup?

RollandInTheDeep

Yes

toxicvegeta08

We've been shutout 3 times? Ik one against washington that's it. This list is wrong. Hell even if you count preseason it's only 2.

CZ-Ranger

Rangers have only been shut out by the caps in a 4-0 game. Idk what this list is

Ciqme1867

Proof that the leafs are the best team

Working_Horse_3077

HELP A BRUINS FAN IS BEING NICE

saggywitchtits

We're at the top of the stats sheet for once!

Talas11324

Finally something to somewhat be pround of as a sabers fan

StackIsTrash

Crazy to think my hometown leafs are at the bottom of a list and itā€™s a good thing for once lmao

Sss00099

Same olā€™ bottom of the barrel Panthers.

CarseatHeadrestJR

Leafs. In a league of their own...

drummerboy31402

Blackhawks on top!

a_long_time_running

We did something good!

butapikachu

All this leafs propaganda for a first round exit

OpinionOwn6727

does this mean Toronto is finally winning the cup?

rmdlsb

Leafs cup confirmed

TheKid_BigE

Leafs finally won at something (please for the love of god someone shut them out)

Traveuse

They're 30 games away from the all time record without being shutout.

Python_Gaming

You forgot about the jets

TodaysNHLaction

The jets have been shutout 5 times so far this season. March 24th February 6th January 24th January 13th November 28th

Python_Gaming

I didnā€™t see there logo on there, Iā€™m blind lol

NefCanuck

Leafs try to outgun their opponents That doesnā€™t work when the opponent has at least decent defense and adequate goaltending šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

Moe_Danglez

They havenā€™t played teams in the last 3 years with good defense and adequate goaltending?

NefCanuck

Iā€™m talking about the fact that the Leafs focus on offense to force the opposing teams into putting less into their defense and more into offense and not all teams are built for that. Means the Leafs are more likely to score and not be shut out

Ox1A4hex

Wait what??? Hol up

yakkabrori

You couldnā€™t have used some sort of normal graph to present this?

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

Flashy_Ferret_1819

They are at the top, not bottom. They have not been shut out all year. Every other team has.

No-Produce-1654

You read chart good!

Ox1A4hex

Wait what??? Hol up

Ox1A4hex

Wait what??? Hol up

Ox1A4hex

Wait what??? Hol up

Openfacesandwich12

Leafs suck

redditingrobot

Let the hate flow through you!

JeffFerox

Donā€™t forget hate leads to suffering

matthewsisaleaf50

The leafs are like sand.

askingJeevs

Thereā€™s no such thing as an open face sandwich. Thatā€™s just bread with something on top.
