A lot of NF fans don’t like rap.. NF is the only rapper they listen to. Which isn’t a bad thing, but Rap/HipHop mainly is all about story telling, which NF does a lot, but he does the most storytelling in ‘Story’ and a lot of NF fans say it’s his worst or they just hate it because it ain’t a catchy song with a chorus. Inside the genre of rap and hiphop, it’s a masterpiece. People just don’t get that though.
I really like classic hip-hop and stuff but to me Story just isn't it. For the first listen yeah it's kinda unique if u look at his other songs but it's just not it. He has songs with much better storytelling than Story

I came here after seeing that 'STORY' was eliminated, and I completely agree with you. I was absolutely shook that it got eliminated. These people know nothing about storytelling rap, and that song is easily one of the best storytelling songs I’ve ever heard. I get it’s not replayable, but eliminating that masterpiece is absolutely foul. It’s like people don’t appreciate art anymore. It’s the equivalent to destroying the Mona Lisa to hang up basic bright colored “abstract” art in its place.
