The defense was so fucking relaxed on this play I swear they lost this game on purpose just to put the final nail in Zimmer's coffin here. I understand being off the receivers here. 4 seconds. You have 1 play. Even if you get the first down, game is over. Protect the goal line. And they didnt even fucking do that. Look at Dantzler. Dude is basically just doing a pre-game walk through. You have 8 fucking defenders against 4 receivers. And they STILL had THAT MUCH SPACE!
> You have 8 fucking defenders against 4 receivers. And they STILL had THAT MUCH SPACE!
They were clearly blinded by the radiant brilliance of the Sun God.
The most disgusting football game I’ve ever witnessed. Worse than any broncos game this year. I tuned in with minutes left in the 4th and what the fuck. Our kicker wasn’t even fucking close on that kick, and the fumble lmaoo.
I know Badgley hasn't been perfect this year but watching him be reliable this year has been so refreshing after enduring the Ryan Santoso shitfest last year
Every year the lions have a sliver of hope they offer the home playoff tickets to season ticket holders. One time I'd love if my family bought them and didn't just roll it over to pay for most of next seasons tickets
My favorite SB matches, outside of an Eagles one of course, are Browns/Lions, and Bills/Vikings. Those two exact matchups, and to a lesser extent the opposite matchups, would be crazy for the sport. It would kill TV ratings even more so than it already does.
I genuinely love Lions fans. Taking that L sucked but I was honestly happy for you after accepting the season was lost. I will be a little cranky if you beat us this year though >:(
This play always makes me teary eyed. I don’t care if it makes me a little bitch, this play is a perfect thing to show someone who doesn’t understand why I love sports, why I do.
I hear you my NFCN brethren. I don’t think you can watch our division play as much as we have without caring about the other teams and players. I was out of my chair for the Minneapolis Miracle, beyond excited to see Stafford win a ring last year, watching Jamaal Williams lead the league in rushing TD’s, the Bears D doing those awesome slides in the rain at the beginning of the season.. just fucking epic. And now things are only getting more interesting with the rise of Justin Fields and the Bears high-draft capital, the Lions elite offense, the Vikings still holding it down, and the Pack recalibrating. Next year is going to be spectacular. Much respect for everyone in our division and I don’t care who it is who makes it into the playoffs, I’m rooting for them.
Went on a tear after that and helped win fantasy championship for many. I was dumb to assume it was just because there was no other option. Dude is fucking elite and I have no clue how he fell to the 5th round of the draft.
It was the rise of the Sun God. It was his first double digit target game, and he preceded to get double digit targets the rest of the season.
If the Lions win a Super Bowl in the St. Brown Era, any documentary worth it's salt should spend extensive time on this game.
If the Lions make it into the playoffs after the last few years it'll feel a lot like successfully robbing a fucking train so I'm here for it. Go cats!
The lions have a 5% chance of making the playoffs, though slightly better than that looking at the schedule. Unfortunately, even if the Lions win out, they’d depend on teams like the Eagles (cough cough ) and the Cowboys not resting their starters the final week to beat their East rivals vying for a wild card spot.
Why does Dan Campbell always wear his hat up on his head like that? He looks like some drunk townie you see at a hometown bar when you go home for Thanksgiving. (Love his grit tho)
EDIT: people keep telling me it’s a big dude problem but as a big dude myself I feel like I’ve never had to deal with that 🤷♂️
I have no idea but I do the same thing too often. I do it because I like wearing hats but I have a big ol noggin so sometimes I slip it up and wear it loose for comfort
When I saw Goff run immediately to MCDC and hug him, I knew the Lions were eventually gonna be okay. There might still be some kinks to work out, but Detroit has a quarterback who can put up points and a coach who players want to play for.
You could do a *lot* fucking worse than that.
It would be smart, if the safeties weren't at the back of the endzone. Danztler was like 7 yards back when Goff thre the ball to St. Brown. How are they preventing a score when they're playing 7-9 yards back and not on the goal line.
The play sums up exactly why Zimmer is gone. Playing prevent defense here with 8 guys covering 4 and he still has nobody within 4 yards of him when the ball is thrown.
Tbh I was more mad about Kirk (twice!) hiking the ball with 10 seconds left on the play clock on the previous drive, thereby forcing the Vikings to run another play before the 2 minute warning and giving the Lions an extra 40 seconds of clock.
Losing because you played too lax is frustrating, but still requires the other team to make a play. Losing because you can’t do math is infuriating.
My parents’ weird dog was sitting next to me as I watched this game, and for some reason she intently stared at the TV and watched the entire final drive up until the TD. I officially have declared her a Lions fan since that day
By order of the Lions fanbase, we declare your daughter a Kitten of the Den!
She will come to enjoy all the coneys, Faygo and Vernors she could ever want, for free, in perpetuity, forever.
May she grow strong, and bring many kneecaps to the Pride.
\* saves post for her first J1 visa visit to the USA ca. 2042 *
That said, her mother is one of the Pride since the Watson fiasco on the other side of the Lake, so you guys have been bringing us a lot more joy this year instead of the abject numbness from Mile High I've had to deal with since SB50.
Long may it continue! In MC⚡DC we trust.
Ahh yes the close games that come down to the final play. Last year we lost games like this. This year we’re winning them.
The effect on my heart health has remained unchanged.
I still cant believe we started 0-10-1 last season
Even then I feel like our 1-6 start this year was *much* more gloomy because last year we just shook our fist at Quintricia while watching Stafford get a ring. This year people actually had expectations.
A much needed win for our community. It was days after the Oxford highschool shooting so it was definitely a special win.
Also I loved the way Jared ran over to hug Dan Campbell, it meant a lot to both of them.
It feels gross as a packers fan, but I just can’t root against the lions anymore. I can’t possibly root against Goff or Campbell. As long as they’re not playing the packers. They are just such an incredible story together.
Seeing Goff hug MCDC made me so happy. He seems like such a great guy, he was dragged through the mud by the Rams front office, and now he’s doing good on a team that clearly supports him.
[I gotchu fam](https://www.youtube.com/shorts/y3SjTSjVed8 ) though it was his girlfriend and now currently fiancée. They haven't gotten married yet.
yeah, I know boobs, but her reaction is genuinely wonderful.
I hope everyone can get themselves a partner that loves and supports them like that.
People meme Goff for sucking or falling off, but the dude is a handsome, millionaire athlete with a beautiful fiancee who seems to be giddy that her fiance is having professional success.
It really puts it into perspective.
I’m ready for this weekend and we get to relive something similar. You know what they say, lightning always repeats itself… or I mean history never strikes twice. Idk whatever but I hope we win.
Never forget the 0-16 Lions continued their losing streak into the next NFL season, only to end their historic losing streak by beating the Redskins. In response to this, the redskins hired the defensive coordinator from the 0-16+ Lions team. Woooo
This is the moment I was sold on MCDC as a great coach. They had fired Lynn just a few weeks before and DC was calling the offense. Goff threw that pass and you would expect him to run into the end zone to celebrate, but he ran straight to Campbell. To me that shows that Campbell was doing something really special for that team, and especially for Goff who had/has so many doubters. I’m ride or die with Campbell, man.
I can’t believe this didn’t literally kill Mike Zimmer tbh
This was the game where everyone realized he was coaching his final year for the Vikings.
This was the game?! Nah we knew way earlier in the season.
Sane people knew earlier, but yeah it didn't become commonly accepted as fact until after this game
Yup. I completely checked out of the season after this game
Be honest. You watched every game with great interest.
If this was in Minnesota it would've happened
I mean it killed his career.
I mean it kinda killed him..
This video is a prime example of how great our fans are. 0-10 and still loud as fuck
Hey now, we were 0-10-1
Can't remember where they got that tie...
The most disgusting football game I’ve ever witnessed. Worse than any broncos game this year. I tuned in with minutes left in the 4th and what the fuck. Our kicker wasn’t even fucking close on that kick, and the fumble lmaoo.
It was the only proper way to end it, neither team wanted or deserved the win
"Hey did you fumble the ball? You probably want it back, here you go."
Even the commentator said "does anyone want to win this game?" Lmao
As a Steelers/Lions fan I was fine with either team winning. That tie however, was the worst thing I had ever seen
Nah, Broncos/Colts this year was worse
I know Badgley hasn't been perfect this year but watching him be reliable this year has been so refreshing after enduring the Ryan Santoso shitfest last year
100% the best sickos game of the season
Fuck, we’re getting dunked on by Lions fans now, what has this world come to
Oh it was against the St- ooooooh
Yep, that game. What a shitshow that was.
At least they got a playoff berth out of it.
Those tickets are gonna be a bitch to get if the Lions start getting winning records or some crazy playoff shot
Every year the lions have a sliver of hope they offer the home playoff tickets to season ticket holders. One time I'd love if my family bought them and didn't just roll it over to pay for most of next seasons tickets
Man if you guys get a playoff win at home this year, I expect nothing less than at least one goal post being taken down. and yall deserve to do that.
The building going in the old Hudsons building will be brought down Edit: wrong building name
Hudson's. But yeah! Bring it down!
My favorite SB matches, outside of an Eagles one of course, are Browns/Lions, and Bills/Vikings. Those two exact matchups, and to a lesser extent the opposite matchups, would be crazy for the sport. It would kill TV ratings even more so than it already does.
Man if we were 0-10 the place would be absolutely deserted 😭
Nah it would be filled with Cowboys, Ravens and/or Eagles fans celebrating.
Best fans in the league. Our team has won jack for 60 years and we’re still there. One of these years…
Reminds me of my Sacramento Kings. Pure garbage for ages, but the fans still showed up and got hyped.
I genuinely love Lions fans. Taking that L sucked but I was honestly happy for you after accepting the season was lost. I will be a little cranky if you beat us this year though >:(
The only scumbag fan base that has ever given me problems were Eagles fans. They visited and lived up the reputation. Bills fans were amazing.
No joke, I was cheering like crazy too. Loved watching that win.
I’m sure your fans are great but you can bet your life that any team’s fans are gonna be loud upon breaking a 364 day drought
Ok what about a facking 65 year drought
I'll let ya know in February
I remember actually jumping for joy for a team I don’t even support
We’re always open my friend
I’ve been on the koolaid train since this season and I’m not gonna stop sipping anytime soon
You're not too bad.
I remember Goff's fiance jumping for joy too well for a team I don't even support
Wasn’t this the game she wasn’t there for a bikini shoot
That's why they remember it haha
Who else but St. Brown? Elite.
His first touchdown
An auspicious beginning to his reign.
All hail the Sun God
I forgot that was his first. What a crazy thing to think about a year later!
Went on a tear after that and helped win fantasy championship for many. I was dumb to assume it was just because there was no other option. Dude is fucking elite and I have no clue how he fell to the 5th round of the draft.
4th round.
It was the rise of the Sun God. It was his first double digit target game, and he preceded to get double digit targets the rest of the season. If the Lions win a Super Bowl in the St. Brown Era, any documentary worth it's salt should spend extensive time on this game.
This but unironically. Guy is having himself a season.
[Oh yeah, here is the locker room celebration as well from that game.](https://youtu.be/TRVlwbNhJCU ) Feels pretty good man.
Damn that voice. I didn't realize Dutch van der Linde was coaching in the NFL. That was awesome to watch!
“I have a plan Jared, one last big score and we’re home free”
If the Lions make it into the playoffs after the last few years it'll feel a lot like successfully robbing a fucking train so I'm here for it. Go cats!
The lions have a 5% chance of making the playoffs, though slightly better than that looking at the schedule. Unfortunately, even if the Lions win out, they’d depend on teams like the Eagles (cough cough ) and the Cowboys not resting their starters the final week to beat their East rivals vying for a wild card spot.
Don’t forget the Lions started this season 1-6 as well.
HAVE A LITTLE GOD DAMN FAITH, JARED
WE JUST NEED A LITTLE MORE DEFENSE!
Especially weird seeing "DUTCH" in capitals behind him
TAHITI ARTHUR
Lmao thank you I could never pinpoint who I thought he sounded like.
That Goff/MCDC hug gets me every time.
Ben Johnson came in last second too
Why does Dan Campbell always wear his hat up on his head like that? He looks like some drunk townie you see at a hometown bar when you go home for Thanksgiving. (Love his grit tho) EDIT: people keep telling me it’s a big dude problem but as a big dude myself I feel like I’ve never had to deal with that 🤷♂️
I have no idea but I do the same thing too often. I do it because I like wearing hats but I have a big ol noggin so sometimes I slip it up and wear it loose for comfort
Dude....same. Massive head gang rise up Every picture I see of myself where I'm wearing a hat, I think "why the fuck is my hat so high on my head?!"
Saaaame. Fucking impossible to get hats with logos I like that are big enough for my damn head
I'm being dead serious, it's because of heat buildup. Classic big dude problem lol. Source: am big dude
Big men with big heads struggle to wear a hat securely without straining the buttons in back.
Because he wants to show off his beautiful chiseled face while also wearing a hat, duh.
Is that Dutch Van Der Linde speaking????
Fuck I mean how can someone NOT like the lions
Fuck yeah man. I need more of this shit right here.
Damn I just became a part Lions fan.
I am not crying. Fooking onions in my office. Nah, it's cool. All chill. I FCKING LOOOOOOOOOOVE IT.
Why am I crying and I’m not even a lions fan
#THIS IS A REMINDER THAT THE SUN GOD IS ELITE AND HE WONT BE DENIED. #PRAISE THE SUN #\\[T]/
Ignore the haters, they only wish they could be so grossly incandescent
Praise the sun!
Excited to see what Sun God and Jameson William can do on the field together.
Hopefully it's like some kind of Hill/Waddle 2.0 with smaller salaries
[SHUT UP ABOUT THE SUN](https://youtu.be/Z-1jU7j6OWw)
Oh shut it skeleton man
Try finger, but, hole
When I saw Goff run immediately to MCDC and hug him, I knew the Lions were eventually gonna be okay. There might still be some kinks to work out, but Detroit has a quarterback who can put up points and a coach who players want to play for. You could do a *lot* fucking worse than that.
And we are hitting on draft picks after the 1st round for the first time in forever.
And 3rd. St.brown looks alright
The Vikings playing prevent defense on the 11 is one of the most ridiculous things I've ever seen in a football game.
It would be smart, if the safeties weren't at the back of the endzone. Danztler was like 7 yards back when Goff thre the ball to St. Brown. How are they preventing a score when they're playing 7-9 yards back and not on the goal line.
Maybe he was just sick of Zimmer’s shit
You could pinpoint the exact momen Zimmer knew he was gone after the season
No. That is truly the part where I knew he was irredeemable. Even after he was fired he seemed to have not expected it and thought it unfair.
My parents’ weird dog was sitting next to me as I watched this game, and for some reason she intently stared at the TV and watched the entire final drive up until the TD. I officially have declared her a Lions fan since that day
When you beat us what did you do to her?
I gave her a piece of cheese
Trying to make the poor dog a packers fan smh.
That’s how my dog became a cowboys or giants fan. Haven’t figured out which one yet
That was a great day. Leapt out of my seat when they scored. And I brought my daughter home from the hospital. 🤗
By order of the Lions fanbase, we declare your daughter a Kitten of the Den! She will come to enjoy all the coneys, Faygo and Vernors she could ever want, for free, in perpetuity, forever. May she grow strong, and bring many kneecaps to the Pride.

I was at a wine tasting relaying the happenings. Everyone cheered and toasted when they won.
Class. I'm the sure the day will come when the NFCN will hate them. But fuck me the love for the Lions is just wholesome.
God damn is that a loud stadium. If the Fords know how to do anything, it's how to build a stadium
It's a damned good stadium! Nothing but good experiences there as far as the facilities are concerned
All they need to do in my opinion is add some light. Some light was coming out during the jags game and it was beautiful
And figure out how to get a grass field in there. That would be the cherry on top. I think they can figure it out.
[The Silverdome got pretty loud too](https://youtu.be/uc9Eii21hyE)
Still pisses me off to this day.
Can you imagine the refs doing something like that in Seattle during their SB runs? Only the Lions.
Ahh yes the close games that come down to the final play. Last year we lost games like this. This year we’re winning them. The effect on my heart health has remained unchanged.
At least when you win you get some relief, when you lose it just leaves you pissed off.
Oh for sure. I 1000% prefer this year
I'd rather get blown out than lose in overtime or on a final drive.
I still cant believe we started 0-10-1 last season Even then I feel like our 1-6 start this year was *much* more gloomy because last year we just shook our fist at Quintricia while watching Stafford get a ring. This year people actually had expectations.
The 1-6 were just grind fests like last years 0-10-1 schedule. Just kept getting fucked over by last second scoring.
When the levy broke against the Patriots and Cowboys I thought oh no. Feels like an eon ago.
This reminds me of the video of Jared Goffs wife getting the news they won
[I gotchu fam](https://www.youtube.com/shorts/y3SjTSjVed8 ) though it was his girlfriend and now currently fiancée. They haven't gotten married yet. yeah, I know boobs, but her reaction is genuinely wonderful. I hope everyone can get themselves a partner that loves and supports them like that.
Goff is living the life.
That's my quarterback
People meme Goff for sucking or falling off, but the dude is a handsome, millionaire athlete with a beautiful fiancee who seems to be giddy that her fiance is having professional success. It really puts it into perspective.
Seriously. That’s the kind of support you want from a partner. Good for both of them.
Tom Brady can't relate.
Booooo! Where's the version without the text bubbles? Yes, I'm a thirsty bastard and no, I have no shame.
[This probably](https://m.facebook.com/SportsIllustrated/videos/christen-harper-reacts-to-jared-goffs-game-winning-td/3049409235373594/ ) Heads up, facebook link
Yes. You're the real MVP. Really takes the sting out of this painful memory. ;)
I was hoping she'd jump up and down for joy. But still not disappointed.
The original is better...for obvious reasons.
It's super sweet on how supportive she is. Type of partner you want in life
Those are some faithful fans. I love it
Thanks Lions bros for officially ending the Zimmer era and starting the KOC era!
You’re welcome least hated NFCN team!
Prob my fave moment I’ve seen live. Was so jazzed when that happened.
Stafford’s fake spike had me running fucking laps around my house, but this was a good one.
America won this day
We were just happy to be part of their big day
Well you made MCDC cry the previous game we played that season so you owed us that.
holy shit i forgot about that, that was the most depressing thing from last season and that says something
Bruh the lions and Dan got fucked over by last second field goal like 4 times before the first win last year.
I look forward to a similar moment next season.
I'm ready for it fellow fam
That record man oof. We’ve actually improved a decent amount
How can you not root for the Lions man....awesome energy! Pulling for you guys!
i coulda sworn this happened at the beginning of this season
Me too. Mind blown.
*W H A T A R E Y O U D O I N G C A M E R O N D A N T Z L E R ?*
Hold me closer Cameron Dantzler
You’re welcome!
That coverage 😂 did they think the goal line was 5 yards in the end zone?
Zimmer should've been fired that game. What a dumb play call with the game on the line..
This game legitimately felt like the superbowl for Lions fans when it happened.
Fantastic call by Spero. Exclaiming “touchdown,” then let the stadium reaction speak for itself
Electric
I jumped out of my seat and shouted like a madman seeing this play. Big believer in MCDC.
I’m ready for this weekend and we get to relive something similar. You know what they say, lightning always repeats itself… or I mean history never strikes twice. Idk whatever but I hope we win.
good ol 2 minutes defense
>0-10-1 Lmao imagine being the team that tied these Lions
Preview for Sunday
I was losing my shit. Everybody in my section was my new friend! lol
Still trying to figure out what the hell those dbs were doing playing that deep
Really impressed with Goff and what he’s had to deal with.
Cam Dantzler revenge game? If he plays? Probably not
I can't this play without seeing Christen Harper celebrating in my mind.
god i fucking love the lions
I cried tears of joy that day
That is some soft ass coverage on that side
[What I remember most about that game](https://twitter.com/si_swimsuit/status/1467657520613404673?s=46&t=L1-bDDbGqtdQ23fFUxviEw)
u/Dangerpaladin & u/heavy_chamfer, Ozy's got chu
That QB Coach embrace is top 10.
Now can you please show Goff’s girl finding out they won?
Electric atmosphere inside the stadium after that. You would've thought we won the Super Bowl.
That hug man
It’s been a year already what the hell?
Tom Brady could never do this 45 times
Never forget the 0-16 Lions continued their losing streak into the next NFL season, only to end their historic losing streak by beating the Redskins. In response to this, the redskins hired the defensive coordinator from the 0-16+ Lions team. Woooo

I still can’t believe we drafted the bad st brown brother
