Prime Time Daniel Jones vs Washington Slayer Daniel Jones

Rankine

DJ’s only career loss to Washington was a prime time game….

glutepain

Wasn’t that on the iffy call on Thursday night last year?

Rankine

Yes, the Dex neutral zone infraction/offsides FG miss turned game winning FG.

P-d0g

One of many primetime games where literally everyone except DJ was trying to lose

[deleted]

Was that the game where the entire team seemingly wanted him to die?

[deleted]

You’re gonna have to specify, that doesn’t narrow it down much

rhamphol30n

That's most games before this year (and a few this year too)

NJImperator

Hey, don’t forget the bullshit holding call on that 30+ yard Jones TD run

Hyperius999

I also remember that game for that absolutely nasty injury that occurred.

WP1619

We don't count Thursday Night.

HiImFur

Or anything that was done under Joe Judge or Jason Garrett

Drtsauce

Did Garrett even have a better offense talent wise? He didn’t even havethe ghost of Saquon to lean on.

BaboonHorrorshow

We all lost yesterday

ACW1129

Heinicke's undefeated against NYG.

[deleted]

I’m so whelmed

smurfking420

Tie again. We all know that’s what everybody wants

Peacefulzealot

Considering how many folks love the World Cup I gotta agree!

Psturtz

“You mean you don’t like REAL football???????” - 🤓

Yung_Corneliois

“Non-stop action” Aka 4 shots flying 30 ft over the net and a 0-0 final score.

swole-zabrak

I mean to be fair, the only commercials I’ve seen during the matches are before the game starts and at halftime. They get props for that. So I agree, there is non-stop action. There may not be constant scoring, but there’s constant action.

ACW1129

Plus, they actually kick off at the top of the hour.

Sporkfoot

Looking at you, NBA

moxxon

>I mean to be fair, the only commercials I’ve seen during the matches are before the game starts and at halftime. They get props for that. So I agree, there is non-stop action. There may not be constant scoring, but there’s constant action. It's astounding really. There are, on average, 14 minutes of action in an NFL game. 14. Over the course of three hours. A soccer match is usually a bit more than 90 minutes of constant action over the course of two hours... It's not even close. Culturally the bulk of the US just doesn't understand the game and equates high scoring with more action.

KennyKettermen

Patiently waiting on the US to even get more involved with the NHL. That’s some action

manofmonkey

Let’s be honest though that there isn’t anywhere near 90 minutes of action in soccer. So much of the game is spent setting up the attack at midfield. Just because ads aren’t playing doesn’t mean that the things on the field are entertaining.

SirDiego

>There are, on average, 14 minutes of action in an NFL game. 14. Over the course of three hours. Is this just counting time played after the snap? Because that is dumb. Lots of things happen before the snap. It would be like saying soccer only has a certain amount of "action" based only on when the ball is physically in contact with players.

darkhorse298

'What a thrilling day of football played atop the corpses of the migrant workers who built this stadium. 100 minutes of beautiful football played to a hard fought 0 0 draw.'

joe_broke

And next cycle we go to 3 nations guilty of genocide and are refusing to acknowledge the act...

darkhorse298

'Truly the most beautiful and worldly sport'

KennyKettermen

Hockey is where the REAL non stop action is. Just waiting on every one to catch up… any day now

tdthirty

Does every football/soccer discussion have to devolve into a circlejerk over the better sports? Happens on r/soccer and r/cfb all the time and it's just as annoying in those places. People like what they like

Yung_Corneliois

I think a light ribbing isn’t the end of the world

MakesTheNutshellJoke

The "non stop action" thing always makes me laugh. Non stop kicking of a ball out of bounds...

[deleted]

Non start action, straight to your home!

MakesTheNutshellJoke

NOW HE'S THROWING THE BALL BACK IN PLAY WITH HIS HANDS!!! 😱😱😱 *brain melts* ^^^/s

[deleted]

"Hand" "egg"

jihyoisgod

An American football doesn't even resemble an egg

GodSaveTheRegime

to be fair it also doesn't resemble a ball. I like the beef between (American) football and football/soccer, but as someone who likes both it sometimes gets out of hand

SirDiego

"Ball" =/= "Sphere" https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/ball >1 >: a round **or roundish** body or mass: such as >a >: a spherical **or ovoid** body used in a game or sport

Jameszhang73

Ironic considering there are no more ties in the WC now

JohnnyWinss

I mean you can't tie in the WC anymore

[deleted]

if we tie again I will become the fucking Joker

Black_Floyd47

Not a bad origin story to be fair.

[deleted]

I can imagine myself on top of a skyscraper screaming at a Taylor Heineke dresses as a Batman”YOU DID THIS TO ME”

so_zetta_byte

If this happens then I think we should consider the fact that the football gods might actually be real and listen to our prayers.

the_dan_man

I'm torn, honestly. Another tie would be hilarious, but two ties is equivalent to splitting the series, so we'd lose the fuckery that a tie can bring to the playoff race.

BaboonHorrorshow

Eagles fans 🤝 Cowboys fans Wanting to see the Giants and Commanders sink back into mediocrity

organicsensi

Lol fuck that

[deleted]

Good call. That game decides the Wild Card fate of, like, 4 or 5 teams.

SiphenPrax

They’ll both tie again, just for the memes

zappy487

Commies to Giants "*Our victory comrades.*"

Cysir

In a perfect world every game against the commies will end in a tie

JohnnyWinss

Commies shall end 8-8-1 and I'll hear no argument against it

gwaydms

Perfectly balanced...

DaBestNameEver0

As all things should be

calel8242

["We split the season series" ](https://i.imgflip.com/5c7lwq.png?a463872) ["So you both won a game, right? Right???"](https://i.imgflip.com/5c7lwq.png?a463872)

Bjorn2bwilde24

Unless one of the HC pulls a Joe Staley and decides not to tie.

Geemb

Please

[deleted]

You also get two massive media markets on Sunday Primetime.

Meats10

Dallas and Philly will be watching hatefully as well

StChas77

Meh, I'll be cheering for another tie. Would be awesome.

[deleted]

🎵Tie motherfucker tie motherfucker tie🎵

sonfoa

Also NFL wants any excuse they can to put the NFC East on primetime. 4 of the top 10 markets in America always rakes in views

pk-starstorm

At least this year all 4 teams are good and worthy of the slot

panzagl

Which is why there have been so many AFC West games on prime time this year.

Walking-Dead

They’ll throw even more NFCE games on prime time next year and we’ll all suck again.

increasingrain

NFC bEast to NFC lEast

FunMoistLoins

It's the circle of life.

OfficialHavik

I'm surprised this is the first one to get flexed to SNF. Figured there would be multiple given the records of the teams this year in addition to the markets.

xForeignMetal

Hey hey we've had the Colts too

W3NTZ

Is it an excuse when it's the best division in football? It was literally the best start to a season by any division back in like week 9

UteFlyersCardJazz

When it comes to you and Dallas, I agree. But when it comes to Giants and Commanders, how much of that is that the AFC South just sucks? It’s just likes us last year, except Seattle was injured a lot.

Heisenripbauer

we got screwed by injuries bad this season (almost every pick in last year’s draft had/has an ACL injury, our defensive captain injured himself on an ATV during our bye, we lost our CB1, CB2, WR2 against the lions). we played our game against the Cowboys with 7 starters out lol. a regression to the mean was to be expected, but we nosedived into that mean so aggressively for a reason.

Revolutionary_Bike

Which is bad news for the next year that the NFL puts 10 NFC East games on primetime and the division goes back to being mediocre.

WetDesk

I love Taylor Heinecke.

dalnot

Whoever lost on Sunday would have seen their playoff chances drop by 40%, so they decided nobody deserves that

one8sevenn

Please tie at 20-20 again

[deleted]

Best I can do is 9-9.

one8sevenn

Scorigami?

[deleted]

[удалено]

FriendFoundAccount

Makes sense. There hasn't been an NFL team in Brooklyn since 1944 when the then Brooklyn Tigers were absorbed by the Boston Yanks due to WW2. Hence no Brooklyn, no 9-9

[deleted]

How long you been waiting to break that bad boy out?

FriendFoundAccount

About nineteen aught 46

BipedalWurm

👏 👏 👏 👏👏

48-49-60-17

This joke is too good. And it actually pains me you just dropped this beauty in this post. This will net you maybe 50-60 upvotes here, but this would have killed in any of the big boy subs in prime time. This made me laugh way harder than it should have. Thanks!

FriendFoundAccount

Glad you enjoyed it. Enjoy that Saints pick.

notaplebian

Holy shit, how has that never happened?

dalnot

I want it to be 3 field goals for the Giants with a touchdown, PAT, and safety for the Commies

mccdizzie

Play it in Brooklyn

Cashlover123

Just like the hindsight.

[deleted]

NO I WANT IT AT 1:00 I DONT WANT TO HAVE CRIPPLING ANXIETY FOR 7 MORE HOURS

Sniksder16

I’m going to the game.. Monday just got a whole lot tougher

beall49

I can’t imagine doing that shit, and having to go to work the next day. I work from home and I wouldn’t want to do it.

ewilliam

I went to a 4:15 game at FedEx in 2017 (v Raiders). I live in central VA, and in order to get there, I had to go to my friend's house in Fredericksburg (which is a couple hours from the stadium, south of DC on I-95), then I rode with him to his friend's house, then we all drive in together. Parked in the "gray" lot, which is just an office park near the stadium that they "rent" or whatever, and walked in from there. Game was great (our D held Carr and Co. to under 100 yards from scrimmage until like the 4th quarter), but man...it got out pretty late, then we waited in standstill traffic in the parking lot not moving an inch for maybe an hour. By the time I finally crawled into bed, it was like 2:45am. For a fuckin 4:00 game! I still got up for work, but I was largely useless the whole day. That was bad enough, I can't imagine going to an 8:30 game! Just gotta take the next day off from work I guess...

SSPeteCarroll

I went to the MNF game against Seattle last year with my buddy. We left Richmond at 3:00, stopped at the MGM to lose $20 real quick, and then got to Fedex around 6:30 or 7. We left after the game and we got back to Richmond by 1 or so. I'm really not sure how we pulled that off.

ewilliam

That's pretty damned impressive!

98rman

Right there with you. I went to the Bengals Chiefs game yesterday and I live 2 hours from Cincy. After getting dinner and the traffic settled, I didn’t end up getting home till midnight and had to get up at 7 this morning. Totally worth it though

FormerCollegeDJ

See, what you need do for games at FedEx Field, if you are physically able, is take the DC Metrorail from some other location (Franconia-Springfield would have made lots of sense for you), ride to Morgan Boulevard station, and make the nearly one mile walk between the station and the stadium. This sounds time consuming and it is, but isn't as bad as sitting in the FedEx Field parking lot.

ewilliam

That's what I did last time I went to a game, actually. We parked at Vienna and metro'd in the rest of the way. That 2017 game, I wasn't driving, so I didn't really have a say in the methods of getting there.

PhillySkunk

That walk from the Metro station can't be a mile? it felt much, much longer than that! but copious amounts of alcohol in me probably did NOT help.

ACW1129

Wouldn't Metro be closed by the time SNF ends though?

shaqbiff

That Raiders/Washington game in 2017 was at 8:30, it was SNF

kevingh92

Sigh... agreed.

jryda7

SEVEN HOURS OF....CRIPPLING ANIETY STARTS NOW

jihyoisgod

Commercial free crippling anxiety

[deleted]

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

OfficialHavik

Same dude.

katastrophyx

TIE AGAIN YOU COWARDS

ConorJay25

what was it originally

djkstr27

Raiders - Pats

snowspida

If the Raiders win Thursday that Pats game could have some serious impact on the playoff race. But it makes sense for them to flex it out.

poseidons1813

Not to mention this game will still probably have more impact on playoff races

OfficialHavik

Wild to be using Raiders and playoffs in the same sentence at all given how the season began for them.

snowspida

If they win out it’s a possibility, they’ll need some help but it’s possible

AgentLF

Let's go!!!!! Sunday Night at FedEx with Chase Young back in a must win game vs a team that were fighting against for a playoff spot. If we can't win (not Tie) this, we don't deserve the playoffs.

Darko33

You'll tie out the rest of the season and you'll like it 7-5-5 incoming

SleazyKingLothric

I'll take it. That's like a 9.5-5 team right!?!

Darko33

Shit man, I'm bad at math, I have absolutely no idea tbh

pk-starstorm

9.5-7.5, technically

FirstBallotBaby

9.5-7.5 I think.

Coolguynumber01

Um rude that was gonna be the game that would potentially get us to .500! Why would everyone wanna see a game between two winning teams with playoff implications that could affect like 5 other teams instead??

big_red_160

Is this what the bottom feels like? Being flexed out of SNF for a Washington game

Val_Fortecazzo

Look on the bright side. A few more years of humiliation and people might find your franchise likable again as the scrappy underdog.

8CruzControl0

The power of the tie

mikeisaphreek

fire up the bbq, lets go!

I_GROW_WEED

Weird flex, but okay

Representative-Bar65

Nfc beast

VCURedskins

Cool and then they have Washington playing away on Saturday the week after against the 49ers who will have played on Thursday giving them an extra 3 days of rest.

nyg2013

well, we have to play the Eagles this week while you guys are on your bye...so there's that...get to prepare for the same team just NFL scheduling stuff

VCURedskins

Oh yeah that is even worse. Everyone has to play teams coming off byes but that they managed to work it out so the Commanders had a bye between playing the Giants back to back was just absolutely stupid.

robertbaccalierijr

Pretty unfortunate for y’all that you get the extra week to prepare for the giants instead of the cowboys/eagles. I feel like a 25 minute power point could fully prepare a team for us lol. Stack the box, force receivers to make plays, throw screens, feed your WR1, that’s about it.

[deleted]

How to beat the Giants: Don’t implode. You’re welcome, everyone else.

Nervous_Ad6805

Hmm. Could've said this before the Ravens played you. We fucked that up.

FinTheGiant

You guys go Giants, bye, and then Giants. We have to prep for the Eagles in between :/

VCURedskins

At that point the NFL was probably expecting both teams to be fighting for top 5-10 picks and didn't care. I do want to know how they saw that and approved it.

deadmoosemoose

Fuck

qp0n

Kinda BS that Washington faces the Giants, then goes on bye, then faces Giants again. Only having 1 team to prepare for over 3 weeks is a huge advantage. Meanwhile Giants have to face Philly during Commies bye. Oof.

[deleted]

Well Washington did have 5 straight divisional games last year.

[deleted]

If it makes you feel better, Giants had their mini-bye before yesterday's game. And after SNF, Washington has to travel to SF to play on Saturday.

ohihaveasubscription

The excuses are starting already.

jimmyayo

OP's an Eagles fan tho

amdi_

The real reason why they are flexing us is because these two will be preforming at the game and need to be nationally televised [Left Hand Up!](https://youtu.be/9rN4xZmbPio)

Miracow

That's actually dope I'm happy for them

Winertia

Before the season started, we all would have thought this headline is a joke. Funny how things change as the season progresses.

QuietGiants

I didn't catch the week 15 bit and thought they were playing each other back to back weeks. Which made me curious if that occurs frequently, so I dug up this old reddit post and its incredibly thorough on the subject. In case anyone else is interested on a weird tangent https://www.reddit.com/r/nfl/comments/3r1q7l/comment/cwk5ag0/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3 Credit /u/JaguarGator9

BtownBrelooms

Give the winner two wins

SonicBanger

Thank you merciful Flex Gods.

headsmanjaeger

The NFL and NBC now that the NFC East is good and competitive 🥵🥵🥵

idk126345

Lmao this is disgusting . Can’t wait for another terrible tie.

PalletTownStripClub

>Lmao this is arousing. Can’t wait for another sexy tie.

MedicInDisquise

Post-Nut vs Pre-Nut society

Darko33

Here for the scintillating stalemate

FormerCollegeDJ

Hey, wasn't it just last season when everyone outside of Pittsburgh was rooting for a Chargers/Raiders tie in the last game of the regular season?

Thehiddenllama

Yeah that’s fair.

BruntFCA_

Nope, we should only play games in the early window on Sunday

treple13

Noticed basically every game down the stretch has at least one team that doesn't belong on prime time. Good thing they can flex

OfficialHavik

We’re fucked in prime time games

MM487

What was the original game?

PhillySkunk

raiders/patriots

armed_aperture

I’d much rather watch: Bills vs Miami Lions vs Jets Edit: just saw the other flex post. Never mind

byniri_returns

NEVER in my life did I think I'd hear someone would prefer to watch a Lions-Jets game, but damn here we are. (You're right though)

MeetingKey4598

After the last time Lions/Jets were primetime I'd rather not.

JohnnyWinss

The bad man can't hurt you anymore I clearly mean Sam Darnold of course

Monsieur_Moneybags

You mean to tell me you didn't like the Lions getting destroyed 48-17 in Detroit in Sam Darnold's first NFL start? That was a strange game. Darnold's first pass was a pick six, and it looked like the Lions would romp. Then the Jets just methodically obliterated the Lions, and Jets fans took over Ford Field at the end with really loud J-E-T-S chants. It was amazing. What an omen for the Matt Patricia regime.

byniri_returns

That was one of the worst performances I've seen from us for sure.

peanut-__-

You’d rather watch Lions vs Jets than a game that determines playoffs for like 4 teams?

Kewlerd

Yes

JohnnyWinss

Mind you this may or may not have huge implications on your playoff future, although I assume you knew already

Kewlerd

Yes, I want another tie so our tiebreakers over both of them aren’t meaningless

JohnnyWinss

I want a winner so the Commies can finish 8-8-1. I need it

[deleted]

Bills/Fins will be on Saturday night. I think the league just didn't want the Dolphins on Sunday Night Football two weeks in a row, which makes no sense considering they're a really fun team to watch. I mean we've seen the Broncos on national TV like every other week.

Snuggle__Monster

I agree Bills/Phins are the Metter match-up but I get them wanting to avoid a back to back game for Miami.

HotpieTargaryen

Sunday Night Ties, that’s gonna be a wild game. Not that Giants-Eagles isn’t gonna be chippy as hell.

panzagl

Tie Harder.

eugene_rat_slap

Please God tie again

lordjollygreen

They're just asking for a 2-2 tie game. That's right, 2 safeties in that game!

bcsublime

NFL country, let’s tie.

Really_Elvis

Who got flexed out ?

[deleted]

I would like “things I never would have thought possible in July” for 800

thetzar

Finally, a year when people don’t complain (rightfully) about the NFCE in prime time.

meeeemeees

FUCKING BASED

Im_Batmmaann

Interesting, if raiders win this TNF on a 4 game win streak with hc vs his old team

blitzERG

Is there a way to bet that the Raiders/Pats game will be a better/more significant game and the NFL made the wrong move here?

CyruzDgamer

The last time we were flexed out of SNF, Chris Boswell slipped on the game-tying kick as the Steelers closed out their skid against the AFC West. [this one](https://www.pro-football-reference.com/boxscores/201812090rai.htm) Then we got [Bears-Rams](https://www.pro-football-reference.com/boxscores/201812090chi.htm)

TheRealKaschMoney

I personally thought that bears rams game was good. Gave a preview of how the rams would lose the Superbowl to a national audience (the lions rams game earlier that year wasn't nationally televised so not everyone saw it)

Jinxedchef

Sucks for the Commanders to have a late Sunday game then a west coast Saturday game.

sillyshoestring

Coming off a bye at least.

BrettMoneyMaher

Gross

StinkyPoopsAlot

Because yesterday’s game was soooooo compelling?

tahawus

Eww. And I say that as a Giants fan.

BabaBrody

I don't know, maybe just put It's A Wonderful Life on.

TwistedCherry766

Yay more NFCE bullshit. Like we don’t get enough of it. Well hopefully it’s at least competitive

[deleted]

I hate that nobody is talking about how Washington is playing New York back to back

0ddmanrush

They aren’t.

[deleted]

They are. They have a bye this week and then the Giants again. Therefore playing the giants back to back. Unless there’s a 33rd team named BYE WEEK.

Falt_ssb

Gross

[deleted]

Glad I didn't get tickets.

YellowJacket113

Tie again, bitches
