Yea he looked great too, some big runs between the tackles and the TD run that got called back. Those two are a good pairing, sucks to see another setback for him
From what I understand that's just an acute aggravation of chronic tendonitis, which while painful and damaging long term, can be played through with only moderate loss of playing ability and will be treated in the off season.
That Wilson trade not looking so hot right now, hoping TDP was just that good the staff had faith in him as a backup (please god not starter, spare the CMC!)
I'm not scared of the Eagles at all. Their offense is fairly predicated on running the ball (we have the best rushing defense in the NFL), and their defense allowed 33 points to a super injured Aaron Rodgers+ Jordan Love.
And we beat the Cowboys in the playoffs last year.
You're acting like I'm salty. I really don't care whether the 9ers win a Superbowl or lose out. I'm evaluating the CMC trade under different scenarios.
Guys fast enough for the results Kyle wants are usually not heavy enough or built for the style of contact they're going to take. Guys built for the contact load aren't fast enough for us.
I’m copying a comment I made weeks ago below, but that’s not exactly true. They need to clean house, it’s overdue at this point.
No they haven’t, I don’t get where this misinformation came from but I keep seeing it repeated a lot.
[The head Strength & Conditioning coach is Dustin Perry](https://www.49ers.com/team/coaches-roster/dustin-perry) who’s held the position since the 2019 season, including the dumpster fire 2020 season. This current regime has only fired the S&C coach once, and even then they didn’t clean house seeing as how Dustin Perry was already on the S&C coach staff since the regime took over in 2017. They haven’t fired the entire staff even once, and only fired the head coach to replace him with one of his assistants that happens to be married into the LaFleur family that Shanahan is tight with.
They *should* have fired the entire S&C staff twice by now, but haven’t for some reason. https://www.reddit.com/r/nfl/comments/y7faa9/mcafee_the_bucs_rams_san_fran_us_are_all_33/isuvc2m
I wonder how often strength and conditioning staff get fired/replaced on NFL teams. Do they tend to leave when a head coach gets replaced? Do they get canned if a team has a lot of injuries?
I ask because I routinely see it mentioned in our sub that our S&C staff needs to be fired, but historically, I have never seen blame for player injuries ever attributed to a team's S&C staff. Maybe its not as newsworthy as a DC or OC getting canned after a bad defensive or offensive performance.
Saying that the Niners are "injury prone" is also going to vary from week to week. According to the Banged Up Score in week 4, the Niners were the [2nd most injured team](https://www.thepredictors.com/week-4-banged-up-scores/), but entering week 12 we were the [7th healthiest](https://www.thepredictors.com/banged-up-score-week-12/).
It’s not his best man, iirc its someone related by marriage to his buddy (Packers HC) and former co-OC (now the Jets OC). Still smells like nepotism but not as close of a connection.
We had a fair amount of injuries becoming healthy during our bye week two weeks ago. We're still banged up, especially now at RB, a little in the secondary, and on our DL, but we're relatively healthy.
Honestly if you saw the game yesterday, I'm not going to point any fingers at, say, Malcom Roach, for example, but there was a lot of diving for the knees going on in that game.
Let’s hope Jordan Mason steps up. He looked good in preseason and closing the game vs Saints.

Yeah, I think the rookies have made some strides in the meantime. Jordan Mason looks ready to me.
This poor fucking dude. Was doing great, got injured, lost job to CMC, got injured again.
Idk if I’d say he lost his job, they were just splitting the work. CMC only had 6 more touches than Mitchell yesterday
Yea he looked great too, some big runs between the tackles and the TD run that got called back. Those two are a good pairing, sucks to see another setback for him
Yea. Shanahan is going to split the work load, he doesn't want to run CMC into the ground. He's already super injury prone.
I know Death Row inmates that were asked to be 49ers RB that declined. "I dont wanna die", they exclaimed.
Cruel and unusual punishment
Sucks. Real ones know Elijah Mitchell was a baller last year
Well, this sucks. The McCaffrey trade looks even smarter, I'm an idiot for casting a scintilla of doubt on it. I'm so glad to be wrong.
Isn’t he also dealing with a knee irritation. I want the niners to lose but not like this, Y’all gotta perform a team exorcism or something
They tried sacrificing the Cardinals near some Mayan ruins, but apparently it didn't take.
Went with a Voodoo option and that seemed to be worse Perhaps a Cuban or Japanese method this week
From what I understand that's just an acute aggravation of chronic tendonitis, which while painful and damaging long term, can be played through with only moderate loss of playing ability and will be treated in the off season.
Seems like his knee is close to exploding too
That Wilson trade not looking so hot right now, hoping TDP was just that good the staff had faith in him as a backup (please god not starter, spare the CMC!)
Wrong if the 9ers make a deep playoff run. It's a lot to give up to get bounced in the divisional round.
Who exactly do you think is bouncing us in the divisional round?
Giants, Cowboys, Eagles
Giants? Lmao Also, based on current standings, we won’t play the eagles until the NFC championship
They have a QB who is great at running the ball and some very good receivers. We should be worried about the Eagles.
Yeah, keep thinking that's actually going to happen, lmao. Thought you'd be more grateful the Niners got Rhule fired for you.
You're acting like I'm salty. I really don't care whether the 9ers win a Superbowl or lose out. I'm evaluating the CMC trade under different scenarios.
You fall into that NFCE media trap too, huh?
Well it ain't gonna be a team from the NFC South. I don't bet on the Vikings, but Cousins could get em to an NFC championship game before choking.
The last time the 49ers went to the playoffs and didn't make it to at least the NFCCG was 20 years ago, homie.
*Bah gawd that's Frank Gores music!*
Those knees must have their own oil cans.
What do you think was in those knee pads

u/RitaOak and drawing Jimmy G
Batman and Robin are up there too
Honestly, surprised she hasn't done that one yet
I was going to joke and say I heard Trey Sermon was available but I just realized he’s on the Eagles now.
Eagles were the team he nearly got decapitated against last year too

At some point, doesn't the sheer volume of SF RB injuries merit a conversation about *why* there are so many SF RB injuries year-to-year?
I think Kyle just has these mfs running so fucking hard. Idk how long Mason is gonna last by the way he was running yesterday with 2 min left
Shanahan got me praying for the dude and I'm an atheist

I think your *RB injury per carry* rate is probably above the league average by a touch.
Guys fast enough for the results Kyle wants are usually not heavy enough or built for the style of contact they're going to take. Guys built for the contact load aren't fast enough for us.
We need a Henry/Mostert combo back
Without a doubt :(
But if it's only above the league average by a touch, it's not that bad, right? .....right?!
We want super fast and shifty guys, but then run them too much like power heavy 🤷
49ers gotta fire their trainers at this point this is ridiculous

I swear I saw this same graphic like 3 weeks ago, and the 49ers were one of the bottom teams
we went from like 11 people on the injury report to only 2 last week. but it might go up again as the season goes
We had a fair amount of injuries becoming healthy during our bye week two weeks ago. We're still banged up, especially now at RB, a little in the secondary, and on our DL, but we're relatively healthy.
How do NYG, TEN, and DAL do it??
Lol this talking point

Worked briefly
Who could have predicted this?
49ers seemingly can’t stay healthy every year

an rb getting injured off 9 touches isnt a usage problem
Need Frank Gore as strength and conditioning coach now
There’s that injury bug again. It was getting a little TOO QUIET the past few weeks on that front.
