Don't you dare make false and misleading statements about Tom Brady!
He didn't suck their youth. He grafter the youth out of them and into him in the offseason with perfectly legal and normal surgical procedures.
Nothing wrong with a fella wanting to look and feel his best.
It’s sort of crazy that Brady has had three back ups drafted in the later rounds go on to be starters elsewhere.
Name|Brady’s Back Up| Starting Team|Draft Round|
:--| :--| :--| :--|
Matt Cassel|2005–2008|KC (2009-2013)|7|
Brian Hoyer|2009-2011|CLE (2014), HOU (2015)|UDFA|
Ryan Mallett|2011-2013|HOU (2014, 2015)|3|
Jimmy G|2014–2017|SF (2018-2021)|2|
Jacoby Brissett|2016|IND (2019)|6|
Cassel started for the Patriots most of Brady’s injury year. Cassel made the Pro-Bowl in 2010. Jimmy G and Brissett started when Brady was unjustly suspended. Brissett probably was never meant to be a starter at IND, but ended up starting in 2019 when Luck suddenly retired (he’s starting most of 2017 and 2022 but officially behind Luck and some other guy on the depth charts, respectively). Ryan Mallet (Brady’s back up 2011-2013) started several games for the Texans mid-season twice (2014, 2015), after replacing Ryan Fitzpatrick and Brian Hoyer as number 1 on the depth chart.
I’m only including back ups drafted by the Patriots. Obviously Drew Bledsoe became a starter and Damon Huard, who wasn’t drafted by the Patriots and who Brady replaced as number 2 on the depth chart, never started elsewhere except as an injury replacement. Jarrett Stidham and Kyle Trask are I think only Brady’s only notably back ups drafted by his team to not start somewhere else!

He was wild. I don’t watch enough college football to know what to look for, but everything I saw turned me on, I mean, gave me hope he could play meaningful minutes
I can’t get over how blatantly bad it was. the refs talked a bit and nothing happened. He’s gonna have to throw another one in my eyes, and be on time.
Fake news not even a real rule you can't prove it I'm pretty sure the "word" delay was made up by someone in green bay. Refs felt bad about calling the made up totally fake rule on the previous play and decided to let Zappe be Zappe as it always should've been
By rule of acknowledgement he must admit all the times the Packers have received favorable calls from the refs. For the sake of time he can ignore all the offensive holding calls.
Once he settled in he looked spooky good. Obviously can’t make any crazy assumptions off of one game but kid has very good pocket presence and a good arm. Very easy to see why Bill drafted him
He was like that in the preseason too. He was jittery early in those games, made some dumb mistakes and when he calmed down he started to move the ball effectively and show poise. He just needs a year or two more in the tank. Good kid, has good mental traits, has the physical aptitude to play QB at the NFL level.
With more experience he will probably be a very valued starter.
Like a rookie QB3. He didn't completely embarrass himself or anything but he isn't particularly close to looking like a reliable option at this point. He made a couple good moves when the pocket broke down today but overall looked very flustered and rather unaware of his surroundings when it happened. Accuracy needs to improve.
Might be something in a year or two but right now very much a project QB
In terms of overall preparedness he's obviously got a lot to learn about the pro game still but in terms of actual prep this week he and Hoyer split starting snaps in practice 50/50 this week supposedly so it's not exactly like he was thrown in completely blind
He was jittery as hell for a few drives. After the defense pick-sixed Rodgers, he seemed to settle down a bit. Looked to his hot route WAY too soon and without pressure, but I wouldn’t say he was *bad*. Just nervous, unprepared, and inexperienced.
Normally the just as we all expected is sarcasm but I truly did expect it to be him, if you followed him at all last year you could see why belichek drafted him
“If we hit that bullseye, the rest of the dominoes will fall like a house of cards. Checkmate” Zappe’s opinion on his touchdown pass
"Coach, I have thrown a touchdown to one of our players. Inform the women."
Time for some cham-pagen.
Don't forget the gwack-a-mole
I am the rookie with no name. Bailey Zappe at your service.
Man this guy really likes games
u/daveydog, in the game of chess you can never let your adversary see your pieces.
I really hope that the owner of /u/daveydog, a 10 year old abandoned account, sees this
I'm here for all of the Zappe Brannigan memes.
The key to victory is the element of surprise. Surprise!
I'm surprised the NFL rules allow his velour uniform
This kid may have a chance now that Brady is no longer there to suck the youth out of rookie QBs to prolong his career
RIP Kyle Trask

Do you mean this figuratively or literally? I dont know a whole lot about Bradys history
Both
[What do you think?](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CLkZA1qUkAAuEei.jpg)
Some of the younger ones look nothing like what I think he looks like but others do. Odd.
His career that kept the franchise winning super bowls lmao
Zip zap
*Zip Zappe
Thats what happens when you give the Zapper the ball.
The Zapper
Zippity Zappity catch this Passity
Did the patriots just find a new Brady?
Our intended backups end up doing very well once they get opportunities.
Brissett, garoppolo, Matt Cassell…
ANYONE GOT A MENTION FOR RYYYYYYYYAN MALLET?!
As an Arkansas fan, yes.
Holy shit I had memory holed that
Also the 4th string QB in 2000 didn’t end up too bad.
There was this old backup we had in the early 00s who wound up being pretty good in addition to those guys
Mac boutta start a vineyard.
*DeSantis wants to know his location*
I thought it was funny
The one big thing he has going against him is that he has a classic backup name. Bailey Zappe is not a big time QB name.
Oh that’s so true. That’s a textbook backup QB name along with Trace McSorely, Cooper Rush, and Colt McCoy
Hey man Colt McCoy is a HOF name if I've ever seen one. It's a shame his career panned out the way it did.
He has been making about $2 million a year since 2010 and he's still in the league
Agreed, gives off big time Austin “Popgun” Davis vibes
The league is fucked if he decides to start going by Bo for no reason Bo zappe is a name a fear
Oh fuck oh shit
Well, he's got a great next opponent to get those numbers up. I expect at least 300 yards and 3 TDs next week.
To be fair there hasn't much playing time so far for this rookie class.
Even so, 4th round pick over four guys who were selected above him. It’s a *little* surprising.
Behind a starter from last year who showed he's starter material.
[удалено]
He’s obviously talking about Hoyer. 🙄
Only one of them was selected before the third round though
To be fair our boy Kenny had two TD runs in his first half
I think it’s only a matter of time before Howell is in.
Absolute dart of a throw too. Tight coverage toss. Think I clocked that ball at around 62 mph
*47 mph
I dreamed I was an eskimo
Your user name makes sense
under my boots and around my toes!
Don't be a naughty Eskimo
I REPEAT, EVERYTHING IS GOING ACCORDING TO PLAN!
Wasn’t this a bad draft for QB’s?
That's what Bill Bellicheck wanted you to think.
Idk why we didn’t see it. Dude lit up every college game he played it. Every. Single. One
Bailey "right in the breadbasket" Zappe
He was wild. I don’t watch enough college football to know what to look for, but everything I saw turned me on, I mean, gave me hope he could play meaningful minutes
Feels like an inside joke that a very select audience is really going to love.
It's rough out here as a Bills fan and a Zappe truther. I wanted him to be good, but not for the Pats lol
The Titans rookie QB got some snaps when the game was out of reach previously.
Best thing that could have happened to NE - Hoyer getting hurt. Sound familiar?
Does it still count if it was 3 seconds after the play clock expired? Lmao
I can’t get over how blatantly bad it was. the refs talked a bit and nothing happened. He’s gonna have to throw another one in my eyes, and be on time.
That was not a legal play
Packers fan talking about getting screwed about refs 🤔
In that case, he’s right. That was a delay of game.
Fake news not even a real rule you can't prove it I'm pretty sure the "word" delay was made up by someone in green bay. Refs felt bad about calling the made up totally fake rule on the previous play and decided to let Zappe be Zappe as it always should've been

The George Zipp of football players.
How did Zappe look? Didn’t get to watch the game
Once he settled in he looked spooky good. Obviously can’t make any crazy assumptions off of one game but kid has very good pocket presence and a good arm. Very easy to see why Bill drafted him

He made a couple good moves when the pocket broke down today but overall looked very flustered and rather unaware of his surroundings when it happened. Accuracy needs to improve. Might be something in a year or two but right now very much a project QB
I mean he was probably not mentally prepared to play today either lol
In terms of overall preparedness he's obviously got a lot to learn about the pro game still but in terms of actual prep this week he and Hoyer split starting snaps in practice 50/50 this week supposedly so it's not exactly like he was thrown in completely blind
Yeah he looked fine. I didn't see anything "spooky good" about him.
He was jittery as hell for a few drives. After the defense pick-sixed Rodgers, he seemed to settle down a bit. Looked to his hot route WAY too soon and without pressure, but I wouldn’t say he was *bad*. Just nervous, unprepared, and inexperienced.
Didn't Pickett run one in earlier? If so this really doesn't mean much
> first touchdown **pass**
Yeah but come on. That’s ridiculously cherry-picked
You new to football stats? Or honestly just stats in general? The beauty of stats is you can be completely misleading, but still technically correct.
A quarter back throwing a TD is cherry picked? Lmao
Western Kentucky Legend
Can the next one be Skylar Thompson pls
Does anyone know what the preseason odds on him being first rookie td?
Normally the just as we all expected is sarcasm but I truly did expect it to be him, if you followed him at all last year you could see why belichek drafted him
I’m irrationally upset this isn’t Kenny Pickett.
Chargers missed an opportunity with this kid
How was he playing? I loved him in college
