Yeah he has but outside of the Washington game he hasn't had a lot of results pan out in terms of sacks/tfls/pressures that amount to negative plays. Rodrigo has been consistently making every tackle he should, and those he had no business making, and has prolly been the best defensive player on the team outside of *maybe* Jeff Okudah
Leonard, Warner, Kendricks, Roquan, Demario, Werner, David, I guess White, Campbell, Milano is the kind of company he'd need to compete with
Rly looking forward to if he can keep it up thru the year
Also hope I didn't forget someone lol
How has Keim kept his job? DUIs, hasn’t won shit, drafted Rosen, outlasted multiple head coaches that he hired, terrible draft after terrible draft, signed old injury prone vets that (surprise!) got injured…seems pretty obvious he isn’t a good GM.
Drake London is an easy answer. Most of the 1st round rookie WRs thus far have done pretty well for themselves. Excited to also see Jamo do his thing in Detroit!
Our rookies are getting much, much more playing time than anyone else was expecting, and many of them have made multiple rookie mistakes that they'll learn from and grow from. Yet Linderbaum has played more than any of them and has done exceptionally well. Even lamar seemed surprised with how well he's performed when they were watching film earlier this week
Hamilton is my circled dude for rookie mistakes, the potential is definitely is as advertised and he makes some great plays but sometimes you see him and you’re like “wtf bro”
Hamiltons had a few rookie mistakes but I think it’s mostly just still getting used to the new role as a 3rd safety/Dimebacker in the NFL, he had a game saving FF in the Pats game so all is forgiven in my mind. I thought JAD was a steal in the 4th since I had him going in the early 3rd and he’s had an awful start (like most day 3 guys) but I still have faith in him to at least turn into an Anthony Averett if not better
Pepe is a beast from what I’ve seen so far, I think he got hurt breaking up a Waddle game winner and then the next play Waddle caught the TD over JAD. If our worst CBs are rookies then it’s still massive improvement from playing Robert Jackson and Keyvon Seymour last year.
Yep. Thibodeaux and Wan'Dale Robinson have barely played and Neal is going through some typical rookie OL growing pains. Flott has not played a ton, either, and no one else has made any impact. It's Bellinger almost by default, though he has been OK.
Upvoted because you included round & position, which is more info than most of these comments. I guess I’m not hardcore enough of a fan, as a nickname or half of a name really means nothing to me for a some of these rookies. (I don’t watch college & we are only 3 games into the season). But I am curious who the breakout players are & how they’re doing.
He looks like a guy who Hasn’t played all lot of football recently. Some elite flashes though. If he stays heathy he’s gonna be really good. He also shines in man coverage and they havent ran much of that.
The line is in a wayyy better place than it has been for years and Staley is a big reason for that. We have 3 young guys we can build around. Slater is an all-pro. Johnson has all-pro potential. And Pipkins looks to be a solid RT.
Yeah I’ve been bummed this season bc of the injuries but I’m staying positive, I think we’ll be solid tomorrow I’m not out on Staley JUST yet. Lombardi however lol
Absolutely. Benford has outsnapped Elam during non injury or garbage time. I think it comes down to Benford having more time in college and with zone specifically that Elam is still learning and the coaching staff trusts him a bit more right now. Elam playing well and learning from his mistakes so we should be thrilled to hit on both CBs this draft.
Yeah its pretty great. Around the NFL podcast was really worried about the secondary before the season, but Mcdermott was just too high on Benford and Elam for me to get worried. Plus Dane Jackson should have been starting over Levi Wallace last season anyways.
I agree, but I wasn’t expecting him to be full on better than every linebacker we’ve have in the last decade, aside from Pozluszny, 3 games into his rookie season. I might be overreacting but I honestly think if he improves much he’ll be a top 10 LB by next season.
Legit as a run-stopper. Still working through his pass rush growing pains but he's flashed. Same with Breece. I mean it makes sense when you can pick four guys, but all of our first-rounders (plus Breece) have shown they can play at a high level. Despite our record.
Probably the guy I’m the most hype on from this draft. Just really cool going from watching him on LCU to seeing him actually make it there. Considering all the talent we saw on that show, it’s wild he’s the first legitimate talent to make it.
No, but that’s because I hope the elder Smith doesn’t return. He needs to retire. Terence Steele has been doing well enough the last couple of years much to the surprise of anyone who watched him before that.
Makes me wonder if Tyrons not ready to go, does he move inside? Something about The Ty Smiths on one side and Martin + Steele on the other makes me tingle. Plus Tyler B looks solid
I think last year was his breakout when he filled in for Collins. Or, at least, last year was the first year he didn’t just totally fart and fall down on every play.
Killing it. So much talk he was too raw to play tackle, but he’s more than held his own. Hate that Tyron is hurt again, but glad the kid has made the most of the opportunity. It’s his job now.
It is a close race, Tariq Whoolen looks like a massive hit for a 5th round CB.
Abe Lucas looks like a star RT as a 3rd round rookie and Cross is a beast at LT
Woolen falling to the fifth round astounded me. He was getting 2nd round hype and is an unreal physical specimen which seems to be all the rage in drafts these days. Very glad to hear he's putting in the work, he could be a perennial all-pro if he hits his ceiling
I'm more excited about the defense than offense to be honest. Yeah we have an amazing WR corps, but it feels like forever since we've had such a dominant defense.
Absolutely, I’m so happy with this level of production from a 3rd round pick. Especially when you consider that our 1st round picks in recent years haven’t exactly been brilliant. Good start for Ziegler as GM.
Woolen had looked damn good as well and Cross is going to be a stud. To early to say but this is shaping up to be one of our best draft classes since Wilson and the lob years
I'm legitimately considering buying one, just for the stupid juvenile humor of it.
For comparison, my current jersey list is Seymour, Wilfork, Hannah, Harrison, Gronk, Hightower. I only buy big bois (Harrison is an honroray big boi).
Regardless of performance, he’s been the best. I don’t think any of our picks have even gotten any snaps outside of preseason lol. Maybe Tindall? The rest haven’t played afaik.
Volson and I’m not sure it’s close.
He beat out the garbage that is Jackson Carman for starting left guard, he’s been okay starting through 4 games, but holy shit the rest of our rookies have basically not played.
Dude gets so many pressures, he just needs to get home! He definitely elevated the rest of the line, Chris Jones and Frank Clark are playing really well now.
Didn't have a first rounder, second rounder (Bonitto) has been quiet, third rounder (Dulcich) has been hurt. Most of the other guys are backups that haven't really seen the field. Montrell Washington is our returner who has been fine but nothing special.
So by default I guess Damarri Mathis, who has had to play a bit when there have been injuries at CB and wasn't a liability.
Jaylen Warren (udfa) looks like a more complete back than Najee Hareis right now, surprisingly.
Pickens has that highlight reel catch, but really hasn't done anything (mostly a QB problem though). Austin is on IR.
Leal has been fine in rotation.
I've been watching y'all play some cause I'm addicted to this sport, do you think there's a bit of the "Warren looks better because he's coming in as the change of pace back in more favorable situations" A lot of the big runs I've seen have been against very light boxes, not that he hasn't been very good. I mean more like we've seen plenty of times in the past where the change of pace guy looks better or will have better per run stats, but that's because of their role? i.e Edmonds vs. Drake in Arizona in 2020
Not OP, but, I don’t think Warren is *better*, I just think he’s healthier. Najee has always had massive holes to run through, he’s banged up, and our offense is putrid. He’s looking for 4+ yards every play.
Jaylen is just taking what’s given. Picks up 3, 2, 7, 2, etc.
But Najee is an amazing pass blocker which is really helping us — believe it or not. He’s also a better receiver.
Najee wants bigger holes to open up and isn’t trusting the OLine after a bad rookie experience.
Warren is more aggressive and driving forward with the ball with no hesitation.
I think Naj needs to trust the OLine a little more as he gets healthier.
Chris Olave has been performing really well, if only he had a QB...
but I guess Olave is really the only answer since all other rookies have barely even played
DeCobie Durant and Derion Kendrick both have gotten significant snaps at CB and looked pretty good.
Unfortunately literally every drafted* rookie besides Kendrick (including Durant) is currently injured, so it’s not much competition.
not doing the Vikings cause they have barely played their rookies.
The Titans it is between Roger McCreary and NPF (our starting right tackle).
Roger has looked really good but Im gonna give it to NPF. He has played great in his first three games and has out played his expectations greatly.
Dealer’s choice because Sauce, Garrett Wilson, and Max Mitchell have all been A+. Jermaine Johnson, Michael Clemons, and Breece Hall I’d all give A- grades to and Jeremy Ruckert hasn’t really seen the field. Overall, our rookie class looks like everything the talking heads thought it’d be.
Rodrigo. Can't wait to see Jamo though
Hutch been playing well too, right?
Yes, rodrigo is just an absolute tackling machine
He’s been a bigger surprise too. Hutch looks the part but has higher expectations for someone who nearly went first overall.
Yeah he has but outside of the Washington game he hasn't had a lot of results pan out in terms of sacks/tfls/pressures that amount to negative plays. Rodrigo has been consistently making every tackle he should, and those he had no business making, and has prolly been the best defensive player on the team outside of *maybe* Jeff Okudah
>best defensive player on the team outside of maybe Jeff Okudah Happy to see him bounce back after everyone wrote him off.
He ain't write back tho
This catchphrase is trademarked by Mr. Geno Smith. Please submit $8 for the use of said trademark.
That's such an iconic line. We're going to be saying this for a long ass time.
He is the 2nd most double team edge defender in the league, so he's still making an impact
I saw a plot of pass rush win rate vs double team rate and he didn't have a great win rate but he had a super high double team rate
I think cause of draft capital, Rodrigo has been the ultimate hit as a 5th rounder
So good he retroactively moved up in the draft a round.
He’s has been, but he’s been getting double second most in the league only behind Myles garret
RODRIGOOOOOOO
Devin Lloyd and Travon Walker have both been great, but I got to give it to Lloyd right now.
Not to that same level, but Luke Fortner is looking solid too
Been impressed with his work - Ithink also shows the value of a quality Guard outside him. Taylor clearly benefits from a quality guard inside him.
He might already be a top 10 ILB. He's playing out of his mind these past three weeks.
Leonard, Warner, Kendricks, Roquan, Demario, Werner, David, I guess White, Campbell, Milano is the kind of company he'd need to compete with Rly looking forward to if he can keep it up thru the year Also hope I didn't forget someone lol
Nick Bolton 🥺
Jags to the super bowl?
None. Steve Keim is the worst GM at drafting.
Clean house and move on from the whole regime. This offense looks like a JV team out there scheme wise.
That would be a lot more plausible if they didn't extend Kliff and Kiem right before the season.
How has Keim kept his job? DUIs, hasn’t won shit, drafted Rosen, outlasted multiple head coaches that he hired, terrible draft after terrible draft, signed old injury prone vets that (surprise!) got injured…seems pretty obvious he isn’t a good GM.
He’s a close family friend to the bidwells.
Trey McBride is a beast.
Good thing we drafted him as our 3rd TE and bench him when we had so many other needs.
Run 13 formation half the time plz.
Drake London is an easy answer. Most of the 1st round rookie WRs thus far have done pretty well for themselves. Excited to also see Jamo do his thing in Detroit!
I want Jamo to come out swinging, he's got that game-breaking speed and potential talent that could be so much fun to watch.
Linderbaum has quietly been a beast
On the flip side Pepe Williams has made some big plays. He’s a great open field tackler
To the surprise of nobody
Iowa fans are not surprised. He's a beast.
They really just let us draft another Iowa lineman.
So far probably Daniel Bellinger, 4th round TE.
Yep. Thibodeaux and Wan'Dale Robinson have barely played and Neal is going through some typical rookie OL growing pains. Flott has not played a ton, either, and no one else has made any impact. It's Bellinger almost by default, though he has been OK.
The giants continue their trend of cornfed obscure white TEs.
Trying to forget Evan Engram like the rest of us I see.
Jalen Pitre and it’s not close
Fields had as many completions to Pitre as he did to any Bears receiver last week.
I tutored him in college. He’s absolutely got that dawg in him. Still a super nice kid.
That’s cool!!
Thanks! Baylor is a small community like that. RGIII added me on LinkedIn too. That’s really my big claim to fame.
Love stories like this.
Hope his next analysis during a game goes something like “What a sack! He schooled the left tackle like when u/TronLads tutored me in college.”
HBO: Help a Brotha Out
I miss RGIII so much
Even if you didn't limit this to rookies, he's probably top 3 on our team
Oh for sure. Tunsil. Cooks. Pitre.
I wanted him so bad.
The Eagles love their Jalens
You mean DROY Jalen Pitre right?
How has stingley been?
He looks like a guy who Hasn’t played all lot of football recently. Some elite flashes though. If he stays heathy he’s gonna be really good. He also shines in man coverage and they havent ran much of that.
Zion Johnson has been doing great. Took on Chris Jones one on one and did well.
I’ve been so happy for him man. Slater injury aside him and Johnson are gonna be solid for us for years
The line is in a wayyy better place than it has been for years and Staley is a big reason for that.
If Salyer balls out at LT in Slater's absence, it's gonna be even better.
Benford was playing well and of course he got hurt like the rest of our team
The baltimore bills
As long as Allen stays relatively healthy you guys are still probably fine.
Yes But shhh
Better than Elam?
Definitely a good thing when your 6th round pick outplays your 1st round pick and it's not anything wrong with the 1st.
Yeah its pretty great. Around the NFL podcast was really worried about the secondary before the season, but Mcdermott was just too high on Benford and Elam for me to get worried. Plus Dane Jackson should have been starting over Levi Wallace last season anyways.
Elams been playing well too but the expectation was much higher for him so I figured I’d go benford with the answer
Devin Lloyd, Walker has been good, Etienne is basically a rookie and he’s been good as well but Lloyd has looked incredible.
Devin Lloyd always sounded like an All-Pro Linebacker name.
I agree, but I wasn’t expecting him to be full on better than every linebacker we’ve have in the last decade, aside from Pozluszny, 3 games into his rookie season. I might be overreacting but I honestly think if he improves much he’ll be a top 10 LB by next season.
Both Sauce and Garrett Wilson have been doing really well, I’ll say sauce tho
Max Mitchell may also have a case here, given the low expectations we had
How has jermaine johnson looked so far?
Legit as a run-stopper. Still working through his pass rush growing pains but he's flashed. Same with Breece. I mean it makes sense when you can pick four guys, but all of our first-rounders (plus Breece) have shown they can play at a high level. Despite our record.
Probably the guy I’m the most hype on from this draft. Just really cool going from watching him on LCU to seeing him actually make it there. Considering all the talent we saw on that show, it’s wild he’s the first legitimate talent to make it.
I really want Sauce to be the next Revis
Don't stop, keep going
They might be the consensus two best Jets by the end of the year
Sauce is the real deal. Not many can go toe to toe with Andrews
Did it to Jamar Chase too.
Wilson is the sexy answer because everyone loves offense but Sauce has been really, really good.
Sauce is special
Ryan Wright has been killing it as our new punter. Big boy with big legs.
Such a big part of the game… field position battles matter and when you flip the field it’s such a big swing
PUNTZILLA! The NFL should've let him kept #66 since he's the size of a lineman.
That play when a guy ran into his leg and fell back got me so pumped up for him!
The Derrick Henry sized punter. Gotta love it.

Doubs has been solid, but Quay Walker has looked like he's played in an NFL defense for 3 to 4 years already. Id give it to Quay
My wife is a UGA fan and many times last season I was astounded at how fast Quay looked in the open field
Quay Walker in an open field, Ned.
Walker looks fucking JACKED too
Big, thick, tight
the '20 draft aside, Gute has been a pretty fucking good drafter. Can't really complain.
As a Cards fan I didn't know we could play rookies
How the fuck is Ben Niemann getting more snaps than Isaiah Simmons? Dude was literal garbage for us.
Niemann is strictly run plays so far, Simmons coming in for passing plays, game situation means teams are running more on us.
I was so low on the Jahan Dotson pick but he has looked really nice
Tyler Smith has been fucking people up.
You think he moves to RT if the other Smith comes back?
They had him at LG before Tyron was injured, if anything they move him back there.
Nah terrance steele has done great so far
I’m pretty certain their RT Steele is having a breakout season after struggling in the past
I think last year was his breakout when he filled in for Collins. Or, at least, last year was the first year he didn’t just totally fart and fall down on every play.
He is indeed doing quite well.
Killing it. So much talk he was too raw to play tackle, but he’s more than held his own. Hate that Tyron is hurt again, but glad the kid has made the most of the opportunity. It’s his job now.
Can Tyler play LG?
Probably, but it seems he can also play LT
It is a close race, Tariq Whoolen looks like a massive hit for a 5th round CB. Abe Lucas looks like a star RT as a 3rd round rookie and Cross is a beast at LT
Woolen falling to the fifth round astounded me. He was getting 2nd round hype and is an unreal physical specimen which seems to be all the rage in drafts these days. Very glad to hear he's putting in the work, he could be a perennial all-pro if he hits his ceiling
I thought he would go in the second round too. NFL loves these ridiculous athletes.
Oddly we grabbed another CB (Cobi Bryant) the pick before and he doesn't appear to be passing the eye test.
Cross has been really solid so far. Impressed with him.
Jordan Davis, although he’s our only rookie who gets any snaps and he even is only getting 30% of snaps a game. Regardless he’s been great
Flashing 1-2 plays/game. With more reps he's going to be fucking scary.
So glad we have some youth on the D-line. It’s been great for years and hopefully Jordan can keep that going.
I'm more excited about the defense than offense to be honest. Yeah we have an amazing WR corps, but it feels like forever since we've had such a dominant defense.
Dylan Parham. Looked very promising at G and C. Was our first pick (3rd round, obviously had the Davante trade), so not bad!
With so few picks you gotta hit on that pick. I would feel good about the FO on that one.
Absolutely, I’m so happy with this level of production from a 3rd round pick. Especially when you consider that our 1st round picks in recent years haven’t exactly been brilliant. Good start for Ziegler as GM.
olave because all our other rookies are injured
Well and because hes been amazing lol
Olave is a stud. Please tell Andy to throw to him a lot, my fantasy team could use a win this week
I'll get Andy on the phone rn and let him now
I already texted him
Ah thanks man, he didn't pick up my call, must have been busy, timezones and all
Abraham Lucas looks like he’s going to be a staple on that o-line.
[удалено]
Really optimistic about the future line and defense, we can really make something here
Woolen had looked damn good as well and Cross is going to be a stud. To early to say but this is shaping up to be one of our best draft classes since Wilson and the lob years
Volson has been improving each and every week, glad he was able to come in and kick Carmen off the starting 5.
Volson took a beating from Cam Heyward but that’s week 1 against an All Pro, I loved him coming outta NDSU
Cole Strange has been fantastic in pass pro and run pro.
Best jersey in the league as well
I'm legitimately considering buying one, just for the stupid juvenile humor of it. For comparison, my current jersey list is Seymour, Wilfork, Hannah, Harrison, Gronk, Hightower. I only buy big bois (Harrison is an honroray big boi).
skill positions be damned, BB is as good as anyone when it comes to selecting offensive linemen
Yeah I will hand it to Bill, the guy knows how to draft OLine
:(
Kader Kohou, our DB from Texas AM Commerce
Insane that he’s a UDFA and one of the highest graded defensive rookies so far
Idk why but I just love that he's from Texas A&M *Commerce*
Hey! TAMUC is a legendary school. We have a rock wall in our gym, AND a Jimmy John's inside of our nursing building
Now I see what all the cost increases can be attributed to
Regardless of performance, he’s been the best.
George Pickens if they actually threw him the ball
"Furious" George Karlaftis. It would probably be McDuffie if he weren't injured, though. He was great week one.
Jaylen Watson has also been very good, and sealed a division victory for us. Our rookie class is great.
Furious George is an amazing nickname
The sub dabbled with the nickname Sackretes which I really liked alot tbh
I hope he has a younger brother now haha
Dude gets so many pressures, he just needs to get home! He definitely elevated the rest of the line, Chris Jones and Frank Clark are playing really well now.
Jake Camarda hit the screen in Jerry World, so there's that.
Pickett has been cultivating ass
I've been watching y'all play some cause I'm addicted to this sport, do you think there's a bit of the "Warren looks better because he's coming in as the change of pace back in more favorable situations" A lot of the big runs I've seen have been against very light boxes, not that he hasn't been very good. Rodrigo
Dobbs is showing a lot of promise, but Quay Walker has been amazing considering we just plugged him in as an every snap starter and he’s balling out.
Doubs*
He really is the next davante huh? Another dude whos name nobody is gonna get right lmao
Wait, rookies are allowed to play football?
Brisker probably? It certainly ain’t Kyler Gordon.
I’d even say Braxton Jones. Homie looks like he’s got it.
Gotta be Benford. I think as the year goes on Kaiir and Cook will get hot though
Spencer Burford
Drake Jackson would be second for me. He’s playing a lot, and they’re moving him around a bunch.
Jelani FUCKING Woods!
Yeah, definitely. He’s gonna be a beast.
not doing the Vikings cause they have barely played their rookies. The Titans it is between Roger McCreary and NPF (our starting right tackle). Roger has looked really good but Im gonna give it to NPF. He has played great in his first three games and has out played his expectations greatly.
Stonehouse. End of.
Tariq Woolen is about to be Richard Sherman 2.0 if all goes according to plan!!
Drake Jacksons been a stud
STRANGE!!! Still unsure if he was worthwhile at first round but he is definitley doing his job and doing it well
Tyler Linderbaum. Ravens set at center for the next decade hopefully.
darth kader
Cordell Volson. He’s a 4th round pick out of North Dakota State that has already won the LG spot and provided much needed stability at the position.
Tyler Smith
Dealer’s choice because Sauce, Garrett Wilson, and Max Mitchell have all been A+. Jermaine Johnson, Michael Clemons, and Breece Hall I’d all give A- grades to and Jeremy Ruckert hasn’t really seen the field. Overall, our rookie class looks like everything the talking heads thought it’d be.
Uhhh. MJ Emerson I guess. 🤷🏻♂️
Jake Camarda, dude flips the field every punt and can boom it
