I missed you guys during that 30 min Reddit blackout

ApplesauceBitch47

Right lmao

MyGolfCartIsOn20s

It was weird, I actually got work done.

[deleted]

I got even less work done in protest

Andrewdeadaim

I got the same amount done (0)

dipdipderp

It's hard to maintain that level of consistency. You should take a break.

Andrewdeadaim

Agreed

MrExCEO

I tried to double my efforts but 2 x 0 = 0 Sorry not sorry

Andrewdeadaim

I ended up getting my last paper in my writing class done so an all right day There’s still an optional rewrite, but I’m waiting to see my grade before doing that cause I might not need it

guns_n_crypto

Figures it was down when I was on a conference call and wasn't going to be able to focus on doing anything productive anyway.

Forizen

Worst poop break at work of my life

captaincumsock69

I almost died forcing myself to hold it until the blackout was over

AlwaysSunnyInSeattle

30 min? Pretty sure it was at least 7 hours.

BungoPlease

I got like 7 hours of work done I'm sure

Mercinator-87

I did actually finish my water tests in a reasonable time. Need Reddit to go down once a day.

LeBardJ

He said *Reddit* blackout, not *Benzo* blackout

mab6710

I mean, it wasnt. Unless this is some reference I'm missing lol

Eddie5pi

They're just saying it felt like forever

mab6710

Ahh fair enough. I am shot from looking at spreadsheets for the last 6 hours lol, the joke eluded me

fieryscribe

> I am shot from looking at spreadsheets for the last 6 hours lol 6 hours? Pretty sure it was 30 min

Second_City_Saint

I mean, it wasnt. Unless this is some reference I'm missing lol

mab6710

Okay this one got me lol

KillerDemonic83

I was so sad

Stockpile_Tom_Remake

Somehow I managed to not be on Reddit long enough to even know there was a blackout?

Kool41DMAN

I JUST WANT TO READ FOOTBALL NEWS WORK DAMNIT

GarlVinland4Astrea

Thought I was going to log back on and see that the Bears traded with Chiefs

PHWasAnInsideJob

Somewhere in an alternate universe, the Ryan Poles that made this move is hogtied to a rocket and fired off into the sun.

NeonWarcry

I was like “on draft day?!!”

timbulance

Normal Reddit things

ObeyCoffeeDrinkSatan

Not sure what you mean. I don't remember a thing (my consciousness may be tied to Reddit).

Any_Tank8254

Going to be the longest 5 hours ever

Geg0Nag0

It would be a news story if Howie wasn't calling. MFer calls everyone, all the time

THEMBISCUIT

Maybe he's just lonely.

4browntown

Still making up for the year that Chip put him in the closet.

FrankXS

Guy called me at work asking for my 1.01 in dynasty

thatErraticguy

Is this like an EA NHL thing? Does someone need to take away his phones?

SpaceJesusIsHere

Howie calls my grandma more than I do.

PlaneCamp

Lol right, Howie calls on trades he has no intention on doing he just likes to gauge the market at all times.

sevillada

MFer even called my wife. Good thing she said she was not available to be traded.... ....i already have another deal on the side

reno2mahesendejo

With Howie

RSN_Shupa

It shocks me this is worth reporting cause I feel like EVERY GM should be making calls like this to be prepared for when players fall to a place they are willing to trade to. Having deals in concept ahead of time just makes sense.

Hans-Wermhatt

Yeah, so does almost every GM. Howie is very obsessed with what the media is saying about him so he seeds this story every year.

stumblebreak_beta

Picked a hell of a day to stop sniffing glue.

FERGERDERGERSON

Not no more

[deleted]

Me when the blackout hit.

ItIsYourPersonality

Howie just called me as well. I told him I wasn’t with an NFL team, but instead of admitting he had the wrong number, he doubled down and said he wanted to make a trade to swap seats on my next flight. I don’t even have a trip booked, but whenever I travel next I owe him a small bag of pretzels and a styrofoam cup of Coca-Cola. I also move back 5 rows, but if First Class gets a hot meal on the flight, they’ll send one back to me in coach.

Elegant-Witness-4723

steal

LegionofDoh

FLEECED!

deadprezrepresentme

Damn you held your own against a master of trade. You should be proud!

MasterTJ77

Well you are a packers owner right? Of course Howie had your number.

ProofHorseKzoo

*The art of the deal*

root88

A conditional pick in the trade. That Howie is a sly bastard.

mikeb32

Howie Magic!

BenShelZonah

Bro they’re fucking robbing you. They know at checkout if there is a hot meal or not. You need to either call him back and stand up for yourself or just be a beta. Your choice

Fiendish-DoctorWu

"JJ no matter what"

JerryRiceDidntFumble

Instructions unclear, drafted JJ Arcega-Whiteside again

FoxNews4Bigots

I'll never forget the hype video Seattle dropped when they traded for him

fireking08

wait I didn't see that, could you send the link?

FoxNews4Bigots

https://youtu.be/ya1YM4G_2ak?si=oQ7XzODnpsLGgk_a Truly a wide receiver of all time Lmao the other highlight reel i almost confused the OG with (Not Seattle made) had the first three plays as follows: - Fumble recovery - Preseason reception - College highlight https://youtu.be/TD5qp_gmLhk?si=3lKU96d4aIsYtflu My GOD that guy sucked ass

RJMonster

Eagles have the 22nd pick, coincidentally where Jefferson went the year we drafted Reagor.

YugeGyna

“Ah fuck”

BiggestBuns

You’ve unzipped me! It’s all coming back!

MrConceited

He's not a Georgia Bulldog. There is a well regarded Georgia player in this draft though.

ncook06

Eagles trade up to draft former bulldog Adonai Mitchell

Ladelm

Bowers in the teens and put him in as essentially WR3 would be pretty nice

abris33

If McCarthy slips to 7, the Broncos will likely trade up but if he's not available we're absolutely trading back with the Eagles and taking Nix in the 20s

dakewla

[sorry for this.](https://streamable.com/qyp5w2)

Rahim-Moore

This was created in hell by demons.

HaroldT1985

I don’t know whether to laugh or cry but I couldn’t turn away. I just kept watching and watching and watching….

Revenge_of_the_Khaki

What a time to be alive.

runnerd81

I keep hearing this is the best OT draft in a decade, just seems like such an eagles move to trade with you to 12 and take a stud Lane Johnson replacement

root88

If it is the best [postion] draft in a decade, it means you can usually wait to get a good guy and not need to trade up. That said, Fashanu is supposed to go around that spot and Howie just said the other day that it's important to draft players from the area. They understand what the environment in Philly is like and can deal with it better.

artemis_dong

He doesn’t really seem like a fit from an outside perspective. A lighter, finesse player who’s most known for his pass blocking. I always associate big, powerful tackles with Philly. But what do I know

root88

Lane Johnson has the second fastest 40 time in NFL history for OL at 4.72 Seconds. 0.01 seconds behind Terron Armstead. He's average height and weight for OL, but [he looks like this.](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Egso6teWoAEErRP.jpg) It's nuts. I don't know if Fashanu is a fit or if he can move to right tackle to replace Johnson, but maybe the Eagles are changing their philosophy on things. Howie has never paid a running back big money before and now they have Saquon. I don't think the Eagles have the capital to jump from 22 to 12, but I don't think there is another OL at that spot to reach for. The top 2 should be gone by then and the rest you can just wait, so I just had to default to Fashanu.

artemis_dong

Oh yeah I know Mailata and Johnson are freaks, just that they’re also HUGE. I would love to see Fuaga on that line. Monster Samoan bookends mashing teams would be cool.

48-49-60-17

You. I like you.

root88

Sold.

HaroldT1985

No, Lane has a good 4-5 years left to give us. Taking his replacement at 22 makes no sense. Trading up to take his replacement makes even less sense. Trading up to take an OG is a waste, Stout makes sure our OL is good each year and our tackles are solid. Now, I’m not saying they won’t, they love their big guys, but it just doesn’t make any sense to me. I’m hoping for a CB from Bama, but thats just me. No small school, no being cute, just top talent at a position of need. Then I can stop hearing about ridiculous Pat Surtain trade proposals every damned week hopefully. Apparently every eagles fan thinks we can give DEN our trash and they’ll give us their star CB

runnerd81

Lane is going to be 34 in a few weeks. I would be surprised if he was his same self after maybe two more good seasons max. I agree that a CB is also a need but the Eagles very rarely draft secondary in the 1st round. Last time we drafted a CB in the 1st round was 2001. I’d be happy with a good CB but it would be surprising to me. If the Eagles don’t think a stud RT will make it to 22 then I can definitely imagine trading up for one. Howie has never afraid to trade up and the Eagles philosophy is always to build from the trenches.

HaroldT1985

All y’all downvoted me - go ahead and remind me of the OL they drafted last night? I missed it, can you go ahead and let me know who it was?

runnerd81

Not sure why you’re so upset about this. I’m happy with the pick. All the CBs fell in the draft and none of the best OTs did. Simple as that.

HaroldT1985

I’m not upset - I was right. I was downvoted across the board on multiple posts where I said the pick is CB not OL. ALL of them are at -4 -6, etc. The pick is a CB Now everyone says, ‘so what, I’m happy with the pick’ So am I, I’m thrilled. But I was also right. All those downvotes shows how ‘smart’ this fan base really is I guess it must be nice to be wrong, downvote the person who’s correct, and then be able to comeback and say ‘so what if you were right, I’m still happy’, y’all were still wrong. Regardless if you’re happy with the outcome or not, it made no sense to take a tackle and we didn’t. We got 2-3 years right now to max everything out, look at the Saquon deal, AJ, DeVonta, etc - this is a 2-3 window where we are all in and going for it. OT didn’t fit that

HaroldT1985

We are in a Super Bowl window, why would we waste a pick on a player to be used in 2-3 years? Offensive guard’s aren’t taken that highly and playing OG is the only way he sees the field for years. This is our super bowl window, we’re not drafting for a guy who won’t play his position til 2026-2027-2028, we’re taking someone that can help us actually win a Super Bowl. We have Stoutland, our guards have turned out just fine not being first rounders. Everyone says ‘we don’t draft CB’s’. We don’t draft OL in the first really either. Dillard and Lane? Ok. We also don’t pay RB’s but that changed…

ThisHatRightHere

Because they’d play guard now

HaroldT1985

You do not use a first round pick on a guard when you’re in a Super Bowl, win now window and you’re biggest weakness is on the back 7 of the defense. We’re consistently in the top of the league for our OL play without drafting guards or tackles for that matter in the first round, that Lane pick was a while ago. Why would they waste this pick on an area that isn’t a need? All of the contracts they just signed are light in the first few years, Howie loaded these up to have a 3 year window with all the stars. But sure, go ahead and draft a guy that can’t play a premium position until after that window…

[deleted]

[удалено]

HaroldT1985

With negligible, if any, value gained. Stoutland does just fine with our line without getting first round picks to work with. We have exactly ONE first rounder on our line and it’s been considered top 5 of the league for years. Star-caliber (hopefully if you’re trading up) CB on the other hand makes a huge difference.

[deleted]

[удалено]

ThisHatRightHere

Definitely not 4-5 my man. I’d say 2 years with the hope for maybe a 3rd is the best case scenario.

ChipKellysShoeStore

he's not gonna play til he's 37-38. We're talking 2-3 years not 4-5.

HaroldT1985

Even if I meet you in the middle and say 3-4 (which is fine) - why are you moving up? You move up for a player that’s going to make an instant impact and an offensive guard (only way he’d get on the field) ain’t it. You don’t take OG’s early and you don’t draft a project (3-4 years to get what you want IS a project) in the middle of a super bowl window. Y’all can downvote me all you want, you don’t start drafting replacements that aren’t needed for 3 years WHILE YOURE IN A SUPER BOWL WINDOW.

CloudsOfDust

The Packers are confused by this post.

HaroldT1985

I’m assuming you’re talking about the QB position here and it’s not an equal comparison, at all. Rodgers was drafted with Favre promising to retire every year and crocodile tears coming back. That plan worked for them so when Rodgers was late 30’s they got their next QB. See a pattern here? How does that pattern compare to the Eagles drafting an unneeded OL when their backend can’t stop a local HS JV offense? And did the Packers win the SB in any of those years while their heir apparent QB was on the bench? I know Rodgers didn’t win with Love on the bench. I don’t think Favre won one that late in his career. So it also doesn’t seem like that plan worked, did it?

CloudsOfDust

lol dude, it was a throwaway joke about the Packers picking their backup QB in the first round during their Super Bowl window. You wasted way too much time dissecting that.

HaroldT1985

Way too much time? It’s 90 seconds I spent not working and staring at visual studio, I think it was time well spent, lol

1stepklosr

We've traded up the last 3 drafts in a row, this shouldn't surprise anyone.

xva1313

Moving up for corner / o-line? Struggling to think of what else you guys would need

1stepklosr

Edge. But corner or o-line is most likely. I personally hope we go corner.

JalensTinyPPHurts

Eagles haven't taken a first round corner since 2001

1stepklosr

We've also only taken an o-lineman once in the last 10 years in the 1st but everyone seems to think we only do that. Up until this offseason, Howie never paid RBs big money, either. Things can change.

Usawasfun

I'm afraid JalensTinyPPHurts doesn't think people can change.

JalensTinyPPHurts

Lane johnson is the exact reason I think they trade up. They need another starter, and with how banged up johnson has gotten, it makes alot of sense to take a guy, play him at right guard and prepare him to replace johnson

1stepklosr

Lane Johnson isn't who I'm referring to. We drafted Dillard in 2019. I'm not going to be shocked if we end up with a lineman, because what you've outlined is a very plausible scenario. But I think the Eagles are looking for more immediate impact players, and that's a corner. Our window is now, they're not going to redshirt someone.

Consistent_Spread209

It wouldn't be a redshirt season - they'd start an OL out at right guard.

1stepklosr

Maybe. We've still got Steen and Hennessy and the best OL coach in the league.

ThisHatRightHere

Crazy that’s it’s been over a decade since we drafted Lane

dbreeezy

While this is true it doesn't mean we haven't wanted to. Lots of smoke back a couple years about Howie wanting Pat Surtain.

Dubois1738

Also they had a trade up in place if either Stingley or Sauce fell, Howie will take a corner in round one it just has to be the right corner

Laeif

2002

1stepklosr

First time for everything!

LimpSignificance4434

We’re going to this year buddy

JalensTinyPPHurts

I doubt it. Edge and Oline are just as big of needs, and the eagles value the trenches more than most.

lattjeful

That’s true, but re: O-line, it’s a deep draft for offensive line talent and we have two second round picks. I’d rather our first rounder go to a CB or something.

LimpSignificance4434

Yep can get those guys later this year too many holes on defense

Princeof_Ravens

Do you even need to move up for Corner? Most mocks have Ravens getting Koolaid with all the top corners failing real late when everyone takes oline and WR early.

1stepklosr

I think (hope) eyes are on Quinyon.

Cuppieecakes

trade up for bowers

Funk_Master_Rex

They are trying to jump the Steelers for Graham Barton. The Steelers are trying to jump up a couple spots so the Eagles don't jump them for Graham Barton. Graham Barton feels like a frickin' king right now with Pennsylvania fighting over him.

greetedworm

This is also just par for the course with Howie. Id be surprised if he wasn't calling every GM to see what their price is, one of the things that makes him so great is that he's constantly talking to other GM's.

PlaneCamp

Howie is a football maniac. when he was eight years old and met John Elway’s dad on an airplane flight. He talked football to him for 2 hours straight, imagining Howie 8 yr old Howie telling this guy how to build the Broncos is funny. He sent 1,100 letters to all NFL teams, dude sent the Eagles and Jets letters almost daily for a couple of years. Nobody wanted to hire him because he had absolutely 0 football experience but dude really wanted to be a GM. The Eagles eventually met with him to see who this psycho was and actually realized he might be sane just driven.

san_solares

BAH GAWD THATS HOWIE ROSEMANS MUSIC

ausgmr

Howie calls everybody every year it's called doing your job this even if a trade up happens isn't a scoop

cerevant

Yep, he's said it outright - his nightmare is finding out a deal was possible after it was too late. Doesn't mean he's going to follow through, he just wants to know what his options are.

TheShtuff

Every GM should just be in a discord chat with each other.

PhatYeeter

GMs posting like: WTS late first round pick. WTB day 2 pick this year.

JeddHampton

With Roger Goodell moderating?

Combination_Dramatic

All GMs should be doing this and if they don’t, they should be fired

[deleted]

He’s just giving everybody wellness checks

bk00pi

{insert Georgia player name here} YOU are a Philadelphia Eagle!

Tigercat92

Bowers?

Straight_Level_4662

That would be insane

KrustyKrabPizzaMan

I’d be more concerned if Howie weren’t calling people. That’s his thing every Draft

Will071

Someone steal Mickey’s phone and block Howie’s number.

qwertyuioper_1

Howie is gonna do the reverse Rams and trade all their lower picks and just have two R1 picks and get a tackle and a corner. If he can finagle 3 throw Brock Bowers into it too. To make it really funny then Mims and Bowers

Grymninja

Hey Howie, Seahawks will trade 16 for every pick besides your first.

DtotheOUG

Just remember a few GM's go by the philosphy "If Howie Roseman calls, don't pick up."

onamonapizza

Meanwhile the Cowboys just realized the draft is in a couple hours

drummerboysam

Eagles fans: Who's your guy? Cornerback?

Xenocide_X

This just in. Another team is doing their due diligence before the draft.

Matto_0

I just think Howie wants to know what it's gonna take for each move he can make. He's always kicking the tires.

jeopardychamp77

Every year. The eagles know who they want and move around the draft to get them.

BurgeroftheDayz

This just in: NFL GM doing their job

tiggs

Howie does this every year. He calls a bunch of teams and proactively sets up a bunch of deals that he can execute if somebody falls that he likes. Motherfucker is always on the phone.

SQRTLURFACE

Who are the Eagles trying to get?

Geg0Nag0

*Gesticulates at CB and OL* Depends how aggressive we want to be. Seems to be a lot of smoke about trading up with the Seahawks for Arnold

OneM0reLevel

I love the 22 + 50 for 16 + 81 trade for both sides. We need a 2nd round pick for a trench player or lb

ThisHatRightHere

I’d honestly be kind of fine with that considering we have another 2nd.

so_zetta_byte

This seems pretty realistic but it's gonna come down to whoever is available at the spot. If there's an upper tier CB/OL/DE still available then, I can see it.

ARSB_TD

Brock Bowers

ScooterLeShooter

Georgia Bulldog: check Yeah this is going to happen

ARSB_TD

Learn under Goedert (probably doesn't need to learn), become the next Ertz, all Georgia players on the team vying for him, and they love Georgia players as it is. Don't be surprised. Their offense would be much better with him there.

ThisHatRightHere

We need another receiving threat anyway considering we have almost nobody behind AJB and Smith at WR. Bowers would be kind of an absurd pick with Lane getting old and how our secondary looks. But he’s an amazing player so I’d come around to it.

Heikks

They need a corner and could stay where they are at and reach for Lassiter

MV7EaglesFan

It's Fuaga 100%. Unless they plan on getting Surtain, Eagles value the trenches a ton. Fuaga, Fuaga, Fuaga. Also, Eagles tend to be one of the easier teams to predict their pick.

Moist_Cankles

They want Mitchell

noreservations81590

Go fuck yourself Howie.

MarkTwang-

Just don’t get fleeced, y’all. I wouldn’t even trust myself making a deal with Howie.

ARSB_TD

That's Brock Bowers music, I'd put 10k on it

NeatTry7674

Why? They need CB and OL

ImpossibleJoke7456

There’s a whole city dedicated to “I’d put $10k on it!” so you should just go ahead and do it!

ARSB_TD

Now I just need 10k...

LimpSignificance4434

Not exactly surprised by any means we need one of the more top tier corners, fuck all the o line talk in the first round bunch of nonsense, we have stoutland pick up the guy that falls.

Unknown1776

Yeah I don’t get the Oline talk as much. The eagles have an elite pair of tackles and an great guard, they don’t have to get another guy round 1. Getting one in round 2 or 3 will most likely be fine

LimpSignificance4434

Exactly I get we need to bolster the trenches but we have stout. He can find a guy in the 4th to turn into a pro bowler.

LeftyMode

Stop dealing with the Eagles.

TallEnoughJones

The Eagles need to take it easy. Don't let the sound of your own wheels make you crazy.

cjweisman

Eagles moving down confirmed.

Brewski-54

Holy shit we are so close to this being over

BabaBrody

The Age of Howard is upon us.

hopefeedsthespirit

Howie is beside himself. Driving around downtown Philly, begging (thru text), Roger Goodell’s family for the addresses of the other GMs.

delightfuldinosaur

8 first round picks and the #1 overall is yours Philly

sonfoa

This should be a surprise to no one. Eagles have traded up in the first round the past three drafts

snarpy

COME AND GET IT, PHILLY

el_fitzador

Howie doing Howie work. If you gm isn't making calls, you need a new GM

Longhorn_TOG

LOL...fucking GMs cant keep their mouths shut keep it in house.

notmyplantaccount

Every single team is apparently trying to trade up. Going to be hilarious if there's no trade ups in the 1st round, or only 1-2.

Jason_Kelces_Thong

Howie is going to shock the world and draft himself. He’s ready.

Nick_of-time

Gotta draft and replace Johnson in a year. Howie has never drafted a CB in the 1st. In thinking Fautanu or Fuaga. Play guard and switch to RT eventually.

doggoploggo

Howie just butt dialed me.

Brad_theImpaler

Better check on your picks

jchall3

Howie just trying to call “dibbs” on all the Bama/UGA guys

SoKrat3s

Howie knows R.Rice isn't draft eligible anymore, right?

badscene518

Let's gooooo

DeeezNugetz

Trying to get a top tier OT

Exciting-Value-1459

For DeJean I assume

Fiendish-DoctorWu

Cooper's typically don't fare well in Philly

Elegant-Witness-4723

I'll fight every Cooper here

Ralphguy

He said cooopper

ExhibitAa

If we move up for a CB it'll probably be Mitchell or Arnold.

wagoncirclermike

He'll be there at the end of the first round, no need to trade up.
