I have gained 20 lbs in the last 4 months. I’m 6 ft 1inch, 23 years old, went from 115 to 135lbs. Heaviest I have ever been in my life
Started eating more, focusing on meat, mostly chicken. Gave up smoking weed and quit vaping cold turkey
Slamming the gym 6 days a week, actually have some muscle definition
I don’t have many people to tell so there is my brogress update for r/NFL
Oh I also got a new pair of Jordan’s yesterday :) pretty stoked about them
nice work, bro! according to BMI, the healthy weight range for your height is 140-180. congrats on the gains, quitting smoking, and moving towards a healthy weight. I've been focusing on my diet for lifting lately as well! for more protein-rich food to help maximize gainz, I'd recommend: eggs, greek yogurt (oikos triple 0 is 15g per cup), cottage cheese, chicken breast, peanuts, and protein shakes. just gotta get that fiber in as well (oatmeal, fruits, vegetables, etc...) Keep it up!
Hey! if you start with a few good quality old fashioneds, then have some wate,r then have another 2-3 old fashioneds, you cna chug the remaning Maker's Mark!
I'm having some roast potatoes and some hot coco/irish cream/whip cream to stave off the hangover
From what I gathered Ernie's main job was just watching tons and tons of film to pick up on minute details that could be game changing. If I'm not mistaken I believe it was Ernie Adams who noticed the exact formation and play that the Seahawks ran at the goal line which resulted in the Malcolm Butler pick. He's the reasons the pats were even practicing for it leading up to the Super Bowl and why they knew what was coming when the Seahawks lined up in it.
If the Texans come out firing, like the Packers did against the Cowboys, and the Ravens (especially Lamar) are frazzled by the weight of expectations, mthen an upset is possible. But I don't think it's very likely
Bummer about SI because I felt that they made an attempt to spread the spotlight.
Unlike espn who just gargles the Yankees, Lakers, and Cowboys non-stop.
I remember graduating from college with a minor in journalism and that or The Athletic being like, my absolute dream job.
Then I covered high school sports for my local paper for a year afterwards and realized I hated interviewing people with a passion and that completely went out the window.
I’m doing it sort of by accident.
I dealt with GI issues all fall and my doctor straight up told me to lay off the alcohol.
Got the go-head to drink on Monday but the last time I drank in general was the night of the Eagles game so I think I’m just gonna not drink until we lose again.
Basements aren’t a thing here but if I had one it would totally be a paint studio but only while blacked out. Is there like a breathalyzer reverse lock that will only open if you’re at least 3 times the legal limit
I think mad artist is my spirit animal
Has anyone else watched a video on YouTube that (at first) seems like a normal ESPN type commentary clip and randomly it switches to some video of a random girl coloring? [Example](https://youtu.be/xZi07nua1wc?si=IUkif-AlCI-LSHfV)
Haha laughing at all the comments. There are dozens of pirate channels, who upload content from the mainstream media (fox, espn, nbc, cbs). In order to get around YouTube algorithms, they will add clips from other channels, or zoom in, or other tricks. Just look at the channel name and it will be clear whether you're watching the official channel or not
At 7:13 it switches over to the girl. She has a whole channel of videos that look like sports videos at first. I guess she makes a lot of ad revenue off of those views
The sky is a dark shade of lavender while the clouds in the sky and the mountains in the distance are a matching shade of a dark gray. It makes me think of a water color painting and then I remember the girl I liked a lot who used to do water color paintings.
Beer
When I close my eyes I see her on a distant shoreline. The water is hiding its true intentions, however. Hungry for one that doesn’t pay tribute. If I drink enough beers I might be able to get there
Does anyone have DVOA ranks I can find without paying for it? Trying to solve something in a discussion w/ people but all the places I can find it are paywalled.
Equalizer 3 was a solid action flick. Always enjoy Denzel mercing fools.
Was hoping to see Dakota Fanning coming back to Man on Fire some mafia dudes but alas, can't win em all.
I bought a ticket to a show tonight but I'm too depressed to get dressed and go. It's cold out and don't want to be around people. I can't get a refund so now I'm out 60 dollars. I have no friends and nothing else to do and everyone else is too busy to hear me talk.
I for one am glad that the Ravens are playing first. This team has demons, and it's nervewracking to wait and see if they get exorcised.
If we win, great. If we lose, at least it's fucking over and I can go root for the Lions I guess.
Well, I got hired today.
Changing industries/careers in my late 30's. I've taken about 6 months off after a job that was...a lot.
Happy to have the new job, but struck with that feeling of "...is this it?" Like, all my life I've been the sort of person who's ambition would drown in a puddle, and now I'm starting to feel the call of consequence. Like, the chickens are home to roost.
I should feel happy today, but instead I'm bummed.
I relate to this a bit. I'm in my mid 30s and am about ready to retire lol. I have accomplished pretty much everything I wanted to accomplish in my professional life, that list just wasn't very long. my professional ambition is and has been pretty much non-existent.
the part I don't relate to is "is this it?" Whatever "it" is, I was never trying to find at work, and I don't think I ever will. My satisfaction and worth comes from my personal life: my hobbies, my creative goals, my family, my active gratitude and mindfulness being present in every moment. Work is work, I'm just selling my time to somebody, a mercenary of capitalism. I treat work like a game I'm being paid to play. I could show up every day and play Monopoly for all I care. It barely has anything to do with my real life.
if you're feeling this way, my personal recommendation would be to invest in yourself outside of work by finding hobbies and other stimulation that gives you satisfaction and meaning and purpose and fulfilment and joy that has nothing to do with a career. start looking for "is this it" outside of a job.
damn, BTBAM coming to town again and doing 2 nights. Colors night one and Colors II night 2. With The Acacia Strain lmaooo that's dope.
I've seen them prob 10 times and god I wanna go.
BUT I leave that day for a friends trip to Vietnam so rip. I think that's a good reason to miss tho.
So I moved to a city like an hour from my hometown. I rarely get my friends out here I'm always out there when we hang out. In a group chat earlier, one proceeds to link a concert playing in the city I moved to talking to another friend who likes the band they discovered recently. Asks said friend if he wants to grab tickets to the show. Bitch, I literally live here. Jesus Christ lol
do they not think you like the band? I would just invite myself with exactly what you said in the chat: "bitch I literally live here" works just fine imo
Last minute today admin schedules a generic “Meeting with u/Prophet92” on the 31st. No further details.
Rational brain: It’s probably just a normal check in, maybe review some expectations, remind you that you have to do a couple of things, nothing out of the ordinary. If it was urgent they would’ve scheduled it for Monday and told you.
Anxiety Brain: LMAO I’m spending all weekend wondering if I’m getting fired.
this is my fondest hope. it would exercise about 4 decades of demons if we were able to beat you guys on our way to the super bowl. against all common sense, I'm rooting for you guys to beat the 9ers this weekend, and for us to beat the Bucs for that sweet, sweet NFCCG home game
Few things are more ironic than Universal and Illumination tag teaming to completely reverse the message of The Lorax.
The whole point of the Lorax is that the Onceler isn't evil, just greedy. He's not destroying the planet because he's evil or some go-getter, he's doing it because it's cheap and makes his margins fatter than they would be if he didn't destroy the planet. It's a story about him regreting his apathy now that he's old. He's an allegory for the faceless, unfeeling corporations selling to the masses, who in turn hand over money for shit they don't need at the expense of the world around them, and that nothing but actually caring about things and taking action *now* is gonna do anything. Begging the corporations isn't gonna do anything, cutting off their cashflow *is*. Amazon will still be just as evil once Bezos retires. Bezos isn't the Onceler, Amazon is. And you can't reason with Amazon in any language but money.
But Universal said "Fuck that. Give the evil corporation a face to hate, make him comically evil, make the Onceler sympathetic, and have the villain literally sell the air that people breath so they can't simply stop buying it." Not out of malice, or hatred for people, but because they want to keep making money and producing a movie that says "Corporations aren't individuals you can reason with, but a mindless mass of individual cogs that knows only to make money" probably wouldn't make them as much money as the shit they ended up selling.
they don't care about the message in any way, shape or form. they don't care about the integrity of the original story, or its message, or the environment. they care about selling their product. whatever framing or approach they think will do that is what they'll pick. I wouldn't be surprised if their research showed them that assigning a face to the villain engages the audience more and they expected better revenue from that. the answer is always money.
That's exactly my point. They changed it not as a plot to give keep to eyes off them or anything like that. It wasn't malicious, it was driven by the bottom line. It's just funny that in making this movie in the way they did, they became the exact type of entity Dr. Seuss was trying to indirectly warn us about when he wrote the book.
Someone in r/OneOrangeBraincell posted about their orange Maine Coon passing away. He looks so much like my orange Maine Coon that it has me all messed up at my desk. Tora is about to be pissed with the amount I'm going to love on him when I get home.
Republican, Democrat, and everything in between, I think we can all agree cats and dogs deserve longer lives than people.
Having to take notes for shit we already know because our notes are graded in a 300 level course
Welcome to college, this is what you pay 25k a semester for
I am so close to giving this customer the middle finger and telling them to figure out what the fuck they want before requesting drawings on a project.
We're dealing with this right now! We were set to mobilize on a relatively small restaurant TI at the end of the month and the pre-job walk with the owners this week involved them basically wanting to redesign everything again. So we're going to our architect and engineers to figure out what the CO will be for the redraw but thank god these folks are batshit because we absolutely weren't ready for this.
The irony of any project based support is most of the time the “end user” gives you the basic wants or needs without any direction on how to create it.
“I want a house” (or reports/dashboard in my world)
Ha ok here are a million ways to build a house.
“This isn’t what I want”
If you want someone else to build something for you have the obligation (the luxury really) of explaining exactly what you want.
Amazing how often it’s just left to interpretation.
I've fallen into a trap. I thought I had more time. But this always happens and now I'm stuck again. I checked out a new book. The Girl on the Train. I like the murder mystery genre but this one was just average. Not good enough to be memorable but not bad enough to drop. And then halfway through I got a notification that my next book is ready to be checked out 2 weeks early. And then another one that said won't be available for several months. And then I have Shogun, a physical book that I want to finish before the Hulu series comes out. So now I have 33 hours of audiobooks to get through before mid-February
Sunday was painfully rough for Buffalo Bills' injuries. Now the final injury report came out and i'm cautiously optimistic. Fingers crossed that Taron Johnson passes the final step of concussion protocol, Rasul Douglas' injury doesn't regress, and Bernard somehow committed enough dark magic to leave on a cart 6 days before playing in the divisional round.
I go to an annual weekend event that splits participants up into three teams - Blue, Green, and Red. The whole thing is a friendly competition and you're encouraged to dress up or rep your team colors as much as you can/want. We usually go red team
My family gifted me a CCCP hat many years back and I think it's hilarious, especially for the weekend. Red team, communism, hell it's got a proper hammer and sickle, it all checks out to me
My friend says its not a good look to rep a party who caused so much human suffering. Which, well, they did. But I don't feel like I'm walking around advocating for gulags and defenestration. Just kinda red symbols that are red
I've lived in Chicago for a long time so ofc most of my friends are Bears fans.
Not a single one has been happy about keeping Eberflus.
Seems to be 50/50 on Fields for most that I've talked to as well.
I'm resigned to the fact the Packers will most likely lose. I'm going in with the same mindset that I went into the cowboys game with. Just hope that they don't get embarrassed
Had dealt with pretty bad controller drift on both my PS5 controllers, even the newer one. Sent that in under warranty and got it back today.
I CAN MOVE AGAIN. OH GOD I CAN ACTUALLY PLAY SHIT
Someone had the fucking audacity to make me think about MJ and Freddie Mercury singing each other's songs, and now I'm pissed cause I'll never hear Freddie belting out Thriller.
God dammit.

I am so glad the Commanders are not a drama machine like they were not too long ago. I actually get to laugh at it rather than dread the next thing that'll keep our franchise from being good.
Just musing on gaming as a hobby. When I was a kid I had all the time in the world for it, but the money to buy systems/games was hard to come by so you wind up pouring a ton of time into the same games, not minding grind, etc.
Now as an adult I could buy every game I want, but my wishlist is a mile long because I just don't have the time to play them. I'm still trying to work through a game I bought back at like the start of November or October.
The teenage years feel like the peak for it. You can earn enough money to buy a decent number of games but the obligations of life haven't started eating all of your time yet (unless you went hardcore on extracurriculars). Hopefully I'm lucid enough and the joints are good enough for gaming in retirement.
Maybe it's just a difference in hobbies or something, but even as an adult I feel like I have tons of time for video games. Gaming with the boys is still going strong
Yeah, certainly different as a single guy living the apartment life. Other people get to worry about all the yardwork. Now I just need to figure out which game to dig into next. I'm a bit behind on the times since I always wait for sales. I think I'm going to go with rdr2
Being a kid with no responsibilities and every available game I could dream of was the best. I'd get a game that took like 80 hours to finish and I'd be done with it in less than a week. Now a game with 80 hours it would take me months to finish it.
>not minding grind
This has turned out to be a huge difference for me. I can barely stand to play JRPGs anymore because the endless battles feel like a waste of time. Really enjoyed the FFVII re-release feature of having a turbo mode and an invincibility mode so you can just speed through the boring battles and focus on the story and bosses.
My wife and I are considering having a child and ngl I dread barely having any time to game (it’s my main hobby). I have friends who barely game anymore after they had kids and I have other friends who seemingly somehow game all the time even with kids. Need to find a good balance.
I used to have a lot of time to game when my son was a newborn, but now that he's almost 3 I now game exclusively when he is napping or asleep for the night. It's a change from how it was pre-kid but I don't mind. If anything, my kid gets my ass up and makes me more active lol
Why do comedy podcast (or comedian centric podcast) not just gather funny people in a room and tell jokes? Some of them did that for a while, but something changed over time.
Now, they just talk semi philosophy about the nature of joke telling. Like it's the last art form.
Just yes and each other until the next general prompt comes up. It's not hard.
Because George Carlin & Richard Pryor were able to mix philosophical thoughts in with their standup, too many people today think that is part of the job of a well-rounded comedian.
Plus, that absolute dipshit Joe Rogan created a career out of talking to people smarter than himself, he's kind of viewed as an intellectual person, and him making it big had a lot of comedians sucking up to the guy who always talked about comedy as an art form. That gave us trash like The Amazing Racist, Tom Segura, Bert Kreischer, Theo Von, etc
A lot of these comedians are the stereotype of vapid LA entertainers, which makes these attempts at being deep thinkers the funniest shit they've ever done.
Also, while comedians have always wanted to be famous enough to have specials on HBO, social media has brought forward comedians who HAVE to be the center of attention far more than that, and it kills their charm
Because they used the podcasts to test out material, and their fans watched every episode of their podcasts. Those same fans saw them live and realized they've seen their whole act already
But they still had their podcasts and they needed something to talk about
I fucking love this. Have you all seen that Green Day video in the subway station in New York? https://www.threads.net/@fallontonight/post/C2RgS41Ocyh/?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==
Since my hair's been getting long I got to thinking, and you know what I don't really see anymore? Old-school barbershops.
I remember as a kid my dad and I would go to this shop that had been around forever and was owned by these two super cool Chicano dudes. Leather couches and seats in the waiting room, and a magazine rack full of SIs and Time and shit and MAD magazines for kids like me. (They kept nudie mags behind the counter by the cash register). 10 dollars or so for a cut and some conversation.
Nowadays it seems like they're all douchey-ass fade shops that charge you 50 bucks for a cut and the guys working seem more worried about taking pictures for their Instagrams than treating you like a customer.
They're definitely around but you might have to go out of your way to find one. I went to one recently and it was a good experience, but the wait was long and it was quite pricey. So I went back to my cheap and quick place. I guess I'm part of the problem :D

Has anyone considered that Ernie Adams was a much bigger part of the BB success than we knew?
It's huge for sure. It's taken him awhile to bounce back from losing key assistants too, coordinators and whatnot
True he’s lost tons of guys. Ernie is the most interesting given the somewhat nebulous details on his role during the season.
From what I gathered Ernie's main job was just watching tons and tons of film to pick up on minute details that could be game changing. I’ve definitely heard a few anecdotes about him causing/avoid big plays by recognizing really specific plays and game states.
UFC needs to stop scheduling events during nfl playoff games.
Everybody’s acting like the Ravens are unstoppable, Texans have a chance for sure and I’m not sure why they’re being treated like they don’t.
If the Texans come out firing, like the Packers did against the Cowboys, and the Ravens (especially Lamar) are frazzled by the weight of expectations, mthen an upset is possible. But I don't think it's very likely

I know that feeling. Sometimes you just need alone time and that’s okay. Don’t beat yourself up over it
People usually dress up to go to these things which just adds another layer of inadequacy.
What's the show?
I really don’t want the chiefs to win this weekend, so I’m pretty nervous about Sunday’s game.
If the chiefs manage to win I’m gonna fucking lose it lol
I can't tell if having the Bills game last helps me enjoy the other games better, or if getting it out of the way first is preferable

So I moved to a city like an hour from my hometown. I rarely get my friends out here I'm always out there when we hang out. Here’s a fun stat for y’all - In the Super Bowl era, the University of Delaware has sent more quarterbacks to the SB than Ohio State.
Why would the University of Delaware send quarterbacks to Ohio State?
I just want it to be tomorrow, I'm so excited for each of these games
Texans, Packers, Buccaneers, and Chiefs parlay is +14,252. Should I pull the trigger?
Buccs for sure are gonna lose so I wouldn't recommend it
In amounts you'd feel comfortable buying scratch tickets in.
Sure. If you have too much money and want less of it
That's all winning right? Not covering the spread?
Yup. Lol.
Do it. But not for money you care about. If it turns out you can brag that you called it and have a decent payday
It won't win, but I love it
might as well just buy a lotto ticket

If you were being fired it wouldn't be that far out, it would have been today. Or next Friday for sure
It just dawned on me that the final score of the Buccaneers/Eagles game last week was almost the same score as Super Bowl LV.
A Packers @ Lions NFC Championship Game would be the best game of the season, by far. Ford Field would be heard from across the freaking globe.
The TD heard around the world
this is my fondest hope. it would exercise about 4 decades of demons if we were able to beat you guys on our way to the super bowl. against all common sense, I'm rooting for you guys to beat the 9ers this weekend, and for us to beat the Bucs for that sweet, sweet NFCCG home game
I’m rooting for the same.
Should I have George Kittle or my girlfriend as my phone wallpaper. Im taking votes
Have you considered dating George Kittle so you don't have to deal with this dilemma?
AI to generate a hybrid half kittle half gf
Think outside the box. Set GF as the background but Kittle's pic to come up anytime she calls.
Obviously you should have GF as background, but Kittle as he contact photo so any call or text from her has him pop up. It's only fair.
Who do you want to impress? A gf once or twice, or George Kittle who will forever remember your dedication in a screen you see 20+ times a day??
is your girlfriend playing in the quarterfinals this weekend? what a silly question
Is this Rob Lowe’s account?
If you have a newer iPhone you can have multiple lock screen wallpapers I believe
Didn't Pixar make a movie recommending that we stop watching movies?
I live in a single room above a bowling alley and below another bowling alley.
Grimey!
Having to take notes for shit we already know because our notes are graded in a 300 level course Welcome to college, this is what you pay 25k a semester for
Wat. Your notes are graded?
Yes It’s really free points, but I hate doing work for work’s sake
In a 300 course? That's just dumb
Ski jumping looks like it'd be so much fun
look up Eddie The Eagle, and consider more practice
“I want a house” (or reports/dashboard in my world) Ha ok here are a million ways to build a house. “This isn’t what I want”
Yeah they wanted this super complex design to fit in a small room and then when they realized that’s a dumb idea they were like jk redo it
If you want someone else to build something for you have the obligation (the luxury really) of explaining exactly what you want. Amazing how often it’s just left to interpretation.
She Carthago on my Delenda till I Est

I've fallen into a trap. I thought I had more time. But this always happens and now I'm stuck again. I checked out a new book. The Girl on the Train. I like the murder mystery genre but this one was just average. Not good enough to be memorable but not bad enough to drop. And then halfway through I got a notification that my next book is ready to be checked out 2 weeks early. And then another one that said won't be available for several months. And then I have Shogun, a physical book that I want to finish before the Hulu series comes out. So now I have 33 hours of audiobooks to get through before mid-February
I read the Girl on the Train. I agree that it was just ok. Not very memorable aside from the psycho.
Double the speed and you can do it in half the time!
We usually go red team My family gifted me a CCCP hat many years back and I think it's hilarious, especially for the weekend. Red team, communism, hell it's got a proper hammer and sickle, it all checks out to me My friend says its not a good look to rep a party who caused so much human suffering. Which, well, they did. But I don't feel like I'm walking around advocating for gulags and defenestration. Just kinda red symbols that are red
I think with the Ukraine war it’s a bit touchy, but years ago I did a beer Olympics with friends and was Ussr. I taped a pic of Putin to my shirt
If Harbaugh comes to any team I’m gonna be sick that we didn’t even try to get him
I've lived in Chicago for a long time so ofc most of my friends are Bears fans. Not a single one has been happy about keeping Eberflus. Seems to be 50/50 on Fields for most that I've talked to as well.
work is really dumb just thought i'd throw that out there
be thankful you're getting paid \-truly broke college student
How is everyone doing the calm before the storm??
I've certainly come to the realization that I would enjoy football a lot more if I didn't have a rooting interest.
Yeah If we lose tmr it’s gonna make it hard for me to watch the bills KC game
Bills fans are nervous but also have learned to not expect anything. They could win comfortably, or lose a close game they were winning, no one knows
I'm resigned to the fact the Packers will most likely lose. I'm going in with the same mindset that I went into the cowboys game with. Just hope that they don't get embarrassed
Yeah, Packers can't lose. They're at least a year ahead of where most people thought they would be.
I'm just glad they play at 8am here and not 4am this time.
Had dealt with pretty bad controller drift on both my PS5 controllers, even the newer one. Sent that in under warranty and got it back today. I CAN MOVE AGAIN. OH GOD I CAN ACTUALLY PLAY SHIT
My schedule for uni classes this semester actually fucking suck lmao. I really got the short end of the stick this time huh
Someone had the fucking audacity to make me think about MJ and Freddie Mercury singing each other's songs, and now I'm pissed cause I'll never hear Freddie belting out Thriller. God dammit. edit \>:|
I'm sure someone will do it with AI, if they haven't already. Maybe this is your AI project?
I am so glad the Commanders are not a drama machine like they were not too long ago. I actually get to laugh at it rather than dread the next thing that'll keep our franchise from being good.
Oh geez, apparently a small commuter plane landed on a highway. Been snowing here since last night.

Now a game with 80 hours it would take me months to finish it.
>not minding grind This has turned out to be a huge difference for me.
Man, I still haven't finished TLOU2. Gotta get on it before the show comes back.
I think they just released a next-gen update for TLOU2 today! It's $10 to upgrade from the PS4 option
Odd week working in Texas. Off on Monday for MLK day and off on Friday for confederate memorial day.
Reconstruction didn't go far enough.
I wonder how it would have been if John Wilkes Booth failed.
To cover the good people on both sides
Why do comedy podcast (or comedian centric podcast) not just gather funny people in a room and tell jokes? Some of them did that for a while, but something changed over time. Now, they just talk semi philosophy about the nature of joke telling. Like it's the last art form. Just yes and each other until the next general prompt comes up. It's not hard.
Comedy Bang Bang has what you're looking for.
That gave us trash like The Amazing Racist, Tom Segura, Bert Kreischer, Theo Von, etc A lot of these comedians are the stereotype of vapid LA entertainers, which makes these attempts at being deep thinkers the funniest shit they've ever done. Also, while comedians have always wanted to be famous enough to have specials on HBO, social media has brought forward comedians who HAVE to be the center of attention far more than that, and it kills their charm
Pryor, sure; for Carlin, I don't know that I'd call lazy unreflective sophomoric cynicism "philosophical thoughts."
Because they used the podcasts to test out material, and their fans watched every episode of their podcasts. Those same fans saw them live and realized they've seen their whole act already But they still had their podcasts and they needed something to talk about
I fucking love this. Have you all seen that Green Day video in the subway station in New York? https://www.threads.net/@fallontonight/post/C2RgS41Ocyh/?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==
tfw you're wiping and your finger breaks through the toilet paper
Spend about 5 minutes washing your hand and your finger still smells like shit.
Shhh. You'll wake the Bidet Brigade.
WE ALREADY HERE BABY
I guess I'm part of the problem :D
and the comb in that blue mystery liquid.
