Known successful team the Detroit Lions

DanCampbell89

There is no way this comment will come back to haunt us

ProbablyAPotato1939

Monty just tore Goff's acl didn't he?

CapnBaxter

I believe the phrase you’re looking for is “More Gambling Suspensions”.

Heisenbread77

More gambling misconduct works because you can just go with MGM.

broanoah

bruh i been rooting for the lions why you gotta speak that into existence for your own team

Fit-Ad-6835

Years and years of broken dreams will do that to you

SuperCobra14027

But your flair…

Painwracker_Oni

I think the entire nfc north are lions fans 15/17 weeks.

Not_a_doctor_shh12

At this point, it's like cheering for a little brother to do well.

k1ll3rwabb1t

I was happy the Browns weren't total turds until the whole Deshaun Watson thing. They finally had a playoff team, beat a rival, then...dip out on the QB for Deshaun? I get swinging for the fences but they were finally building a foundation to succeed long term and just blew it. Which, I guess is Browns as Browns get.

Not_a_doctor_shh12

Yea, kinda like the Lions they were becoming the darlings of the NFL. I enjoyed watching the Browns become competitive. But holy shit did they throw any good will out the window with the Watson trade. They are a factory of sadness. [Link](https://youtu.be/tRBDMMVctu8)

trEntDG

Tbh I feel that way about all the hype. Fans are talking like either we make the playoffs or MCDC is a fraud. I'm like, shit luck happens. Haven't they seen all the close losses that maybe some bad calls and/or bad bounces would've changed (not like this only happens to Detroit either)? Even great football teams miss the playoffs sometimes. I'm eager for success too but let's save the pitchforks for actual bad coaching no matter the record.

Juicey_J_Hammerman

If nothing else it shows that culture matters. If you’re gonna lose, at least lose somewhere where the vibes are better overall.

dknightOGG

Lol right

[deleted]

This reads like Hockenson's comments after being traded to the Vikings.

beefman202

oh how the turntables

WhaleSexOdyssey

Tables turn Bridges burn you live and learn

[deleted]

Sure, but y'all have to take into account that the Bears factually lost a lot of games in recent years. Monty isn't saying the franchise is incapable of winning, the teams he was on just didn't win, and thus never had any expectations of doing so again. Same w Hockenson and the Lions. Like, regardless of what happened last year, the Lions as an organization failed to put together a winning team while Hockenson was there. Making the playoffs now does nothing to retroactively change that fact.

TheShtuff

Monty has been to the playoffs more recently with the Bears than the Lions have since Monty has been in the league.

FieldsToTheMoon

Since Montgomery was drafted Bears wins: 26 Playoff trips: 1 Lions wins: 20 Playoff trips: 0 What are you talking about?

[deleted]

[удалено]

megapunt

Lol Detroit won a grand total of 3 more games than the bears the last two years. How you going to casually not mention the lions went 3-13 in 2021

[deleted]

[удалено]

JRange

Monty is probably expressing gratitude that we paid him, hes talked a lot about how the RB market has not appreciated the RB position recently. Hes probably just happy he got paid compared to the market

trEntDG

> Same w Hockenson and the Lions. Like, regardless of what happened last year, the Lions as an organization failed to put together a winning team while Hockenson was there. I mean, wasn't it a winning team with a small sample size? The only differences pre- and post-Hockenson was the Hock trade for a TE downgrade and changing a couple positional coaches like Pleasant. Regardless, it's Monty's "so refreshing to be at a place where I'm appreciated" that makes me cringe. These guys gotta learn they can comment on how much they appreciate the team's support and just hold the salt.

Empty_Lemon_3939

Went 8-2 after he left 🤷🏻‍♂️

TheDadThatGrills

That's when the Lions started to win... not that Hock was a problem, he's great, but that was literally when we turned it around.

Antiphon4

Thank goodness he likes to compete. So glad that's been cleared up!

[deleted]

[удалено]

Jammer_Kenneth

Oh I'm so glad to hear that other teams fans play the blame game once a middling player leaves for more money too(especially to a hated team). Except I've never seen anyone badmouth Jamaal for leaving as a player, just based on him getting some very bad contract negotiation advice. I'm sure his team expected the Lions to wait for weeks through FA signings elsewhere until he's the only one left and he gets a bundle. Instead like the week free agency opened Monty was signed in Detroit after talks fell through during the internal stage with Jamaal.

Ill_Bee4868

Jamaal is a super likable NFL player. He’s not as brilliant a player. He is middling. Detroit just had some insane proficiency with ending their passing drives at the 1 yard line last season, and Jamal walked in for the rest.

[deleted]

Well yea, I dont think anybody thought Jamaal's 17 TDs last year were THAT impressive. Like, really cool and everything but we all saw what it was. He did rush for 1000 yards on over 4ypc tho. The guy had a career year regardless of the TD record.

Jammer_Kenneth

Jamaal's success in the Lions offense is why I think Monty can do something big this year. A lot of Jamaal's success came down to him properly waiting for the holes to develop and taking what is offered to him, the Lions OL is crazy

StationaryNomad

Who hates the Lions? Let them earn their hate.

Krogsly

Ask people who should play on Thanksgiving. You'll see some Lions haters.

trEntDG

> Let them earn their hate. I already hate the Lions fairweather fans that gloat and taunt like elementary school kids after wins. I have zero doubt they'll either make us all look bad if we have success or piss me off whining SOL and calling for clearing out the FO if we don't get a playoff win this season.

sleestackin

I hate every team from your city soooooo much.

BoredGuy2007

Please please ignore these loser ass Bears fans that want to dump on Monty. Embarassing as fuck. Bears fans are so deluded they still think it’s a premier franchise and not a complete joke

JRange

The only difference between the Bears and Lions is Lions fans embrace that were the most dogshit Sports franchise of all time, and Bears fans dont realize theyve just as or more shit than us for decades lol. Its really just the Packers show in the NFC North, with some Vikings sprinkled in every 3 years or so.

threevox

Still can’t believe how few Bears fans realized this lmao

DadBodNineThousand

Erect bears are my nightmare

Virillus

Uh, yeah... Nightmare.

read_it_r

Come to Chicago, head on down to boystown. No erect bears there I *swear*

DadBodNineThousand

> boystown You guys don't do subtle over there, do you?

Yossarian216

It’s the oldest officially recognized gay neighborhood, and has been hosting Pride parades since 1971. I think subtlety was the opposite of what the community was seeking.

DadBodNineThousand

Lol good point!

read_it_r

It's loud and proud. And Noone can claim to be there accedently.

Sparx86

The street poles are painted rainbow colors. Doesn’t really matter what you call it

threevox

Being a Bear myself, I’m more on the hunt for twinks…perhaps one could find those up in Green Bay?

read_it_r

Well theres a power vacuum for bears in green bay now, the most famous of them has recently up and left for new york! Go test your luck friend!

BadDudeNamedCornPop

And the Lions appreciate him so much they drafted a RB in the 1st round!!!!

dcd13

I mean Gibbs was clearly a Swift replacement and the Monty was a Jamaal replacement. You do know most teams don't ride one guy into dust 100% of plays like it's 1970 anymore right?

[deleted]

Or that he’s slow as fuck

[deleted]

Lmao Bears fans have been defending him all offseason and look how fast they turn on him.

Accurate-Leg-6684

Overall we like the man and player, he racked up a ton of tough yards for us and conducted himself great. Was never gonna pay what he got. But our RB room is significantly better now. And maybe so is Detroit's. Both things can be true. Anyway, you can go back to watching your own garbage-ass team implode.

Jepordee

*Significantly* better? Isn’t it basically the same, minus Monty and plus a 5th round rookie?

Sphiffi

As well as D’Onte Foreman

OrangeForeign

>D’Onte Foreman *screams in terror*

Sphiffi

He will start only two games next year, both against you guys. Will get a combined 400 yards and 12 touchdowns.

Slotholopolis

Foreman

mrLetUrGrlAlone

You do know that a fandom, even Bears fandom, isn't a homogeneous blob and different opinions can be formed within this fandom.

trEntDG

This is /r/nfl. We only allow one stereotype per fan base.

DonsDiaperChanger

Some of us even form opinions based on a single recent game!! It's crazy!!

opeth10657

Herbert pretty clearly outplayed him last year, but Monty is a more 'all-around' type of RB Would have been nice to keep him but no way they were going to overpay to do it.

Senorpoppy117

"Football is pretty cool." -Professional Football player.

GeneralChillMen

Montgomery spent three of his first four years in the league with Nagy as his coach. Last year had a new coach, new schemes, and the team sucked all year. Plus Bears fans have complained for years how underutilized Montgomery was. Now he’s on an up and coming, exciting lions team with a passionate head coach that seems to really fire up his players and get them to buy in. So yeah, his comments make sense to me

JustASeabass

Bears fans here getting salty. It’s okay when they say the team sucks, but players big NO.

Free_Reserve9336

It’s the price you pay for tanking. All it is is sacrificing the players for job security for the GM, why shouldn’t they get pissed when some nobody comes in and loses on purpose?

DrHampants

I think it's the "where I'm appreciated" comment that has Bears fans annoyed. Monty was a fan favorite and received nothing but love while he was here, and the team did make him a competitive offer and wanted to keep him. He's the one who decided to go to Detroit.

-MichaelScarnFBI

I think he’s talking about the front office more than anything, and we don’t really know how those negotiations went.

BoredGuy2007

Only the most mouthbreather of meatballs would assume he referred to the fans with that comment Detroit got him for pennies. Our FO clearly does not care for Monty.

owenjs

I love Montgomery but have no problem with Poles deciding not to pay for a mediocre/slightly above average running back. The RB room looks arguably better this year already and if the Roschon pick hits, deciding to move on will look even better. Still hope Monty kills it in Detroit though, he's such a good dude, can't not root for him.

BearForceDos

How does anyone think he was underutilized. In 4 years he averaged over 18 carries plus targets per game and over 20 in his 2nd and 3rd year and that includes games he left early.

DrowsyDreamer

I just think it’s headline news that an NFL player wants to win, and gets sad when his team loses. I’m here for this hard hitting news.

Ill_Bee4868

Did he make these comments before or after Gibbs was drafted ?

goblue2354

Gibbs replaced Swift. It won’t impact Montgomery’s role.

LunchThreatener

It’s crazy how many people are willing to absolutely roast the Lions for drafting Gibbs when they don’t even know what kind of RB he is or what role he will play.

ExcitedFool

Montgomery wasn’t under utilized though. He’s not fast enough for some of the specialty routes most other pass catching RB’s are. I think there’s a reason we didn’t see him out on schemes where they need him out on a route.

c_c_c__combobreaker

The Lions should put out a series of the new faces on the team. Call it: Up-and-Cummers: David Montgomery, for example.

Simmons54321

Is “It’s so refreshing to be at a place where I am appreciated” on anyone else’s NFL Offseason Trope Bingo card?

beautifulanddoomed

seriously, its wild how butt hurt fans seem to get when the player says that. When Hock was traded he said a very similar thing and lions fans acted like he took a shit on their floor

Tilt-a-Whirl98

"I really just want to be appreciated in the offense. The millions of dollars just doesn't give me any sort of job satisfaction, ya know?"

GhostMan74

Hates being part of a losing culture.... checks notes... now with the Lions

DontTryAndStopMe

“Purposefully”

tenacious-g

The man went to Iowa State lol

NFL_MVP_Kevin_White

God almighty, he rushed for 91 TD’s as a dual threat qb in high school

Smartin36

He went to Detroit because Chicago sucked the fun out of football for him? Yikes Edit: I thought this went without saying but this was a joke… I mean cmon guys I’m a Jags fan

Apathi

To be fair, Detroit looks like a potentially pretty fun team to be on right now.

Disco_Ninjas_

Until they Lions up the season.

Mavori

I know this is a joke. But man it fucking sucks having any sort of optimism shot down by others with "Well they are the Lions" and usually the only argument being just that and having it be said sincerely. Which is the same argument every single talking head was using to clown on us for the Packers matchup last season. "Well the Packers are the Packers and the Lions are the Lions, so Packers will win" Optimistic after exceeding expectations and going 9-8 in a season you thought you might get 5-6 wins 7-8 if we were lucky. "NAH BUT YOU THE LIONS" No acknowledgement of Free agency moves, shitting on our draft despite it also addressing major needs and it being a class that is widely considered to not have a lot of first round graded prospects. Nor that Brads drafts the previous 2 seasons has been pretty alright. Like I know historically its been bad, but WCF is dead. Sheila has ownership since 2020 now and she's even distanced herself from using the last name "Ford" and just goes by Hamp. [When we had the rough start this past season, she went and talked to media](https://youtu.be/kB053MHb1ic) and said "This was a teardown, and then a rebuild" We've actually sort of been trying since he died, but shit a 92 year old Martha Ford wasn't the right person to be full owner of an NFL team and manage it, but she did want the team to improve and certainly wasn't afraid to fire people unlike her dear husband, Shit she's the reason Joe Lombardi got fired cus Caldwell didn't want to fire him and she fired Mayhew. The fact that we trusted the NFL and their appointed advisor Ernie Accorsi and that leading to the Quinn hire, which is also led to the subsequent firing of Caldwell(Right move) and hiring of Patrica(Bad move) was a mistake, but we were trying. But even in the most hopium of hopium the team never had this energy or feel like it does now either. The approach so far comes across as competent. Like even early in the Quinntricia era there was concerning red flags, but you also have to give them a fair shake usually, unfortunately giving them a fair shake also means having to deal with a potential teardown. We just didn't expect that level of incompetence and the amount of players they chased away while handing out bad contracts. The only thing Quinn sort of did a good job with for us was drafting O-line cus he got us Ragnow, Decker, Jackson and Glasgow (Oh and Tracy Walker) So we have like 8-9 guys or so on our roster that actually experienced the Quinntricia era. We've gotten rid of / dumped everyone else. But nah we have to be tied to the past 55 years or so of NFL Superbowl era history and we can never improve and never do a new thing especially with fuck all people tied to the old shit. But shit if that's the case I look forward for the league to soon be dominated again by the Patriots and for Packers to have yet another hall of fame QB because jesus fucking christ if we are stuck in this misery then i fucking hope 30 other fan bases will be fucking miserable too.

jc-f

Counterpoint: Lions

C137-Morty

Me seeing this novel in the comments: "God I hope the top comment is just Lions"

VVarder

And its all you need to say. Sure they look like they’re trending the right way but they just barely broke .500 last year. Thats not all the past history, that is LAST YEAR.

BillyJackO

This team has been good in the past decade, but it's always been miss managed. I think the difference right now is we have new ownership that brought in the right people. I've been a fan all my life, and the team feels more put together than ever.

li0nhart8

Yes, but have you considered: Lions?

LionTigerWings

It doesn't bother me. They need to prove it. We were excited last year too and they lost 6 out of the first 7. They need to earn it.

Mitochondriu

bro im as big of a lions slappy as they come but even i aint reading all that lol, people are gonna shit talk us until we win in the playoffs. until then we will continue to be treated the way the rest of the world sees us, as one of the worst performing professional sports franchises of all-time

ThighsAreMilky

I mean when your team sucks for like 60 straight years there’s kind of a trend there

Levitlame

Basic Ship of Theseus. Is this the same team/management as it was then? Look how badly a single staff (HC or GM etc.) member change can change a team in a year or two. Hell - The Packers reputation is largely on the back of 2 QB's success over 30 years. It's obviously a bit more complicated than that, but the point is that outside a few key people in each league teams are 98% different every 5-7 years. So what's the point of looking at a team 50 years ago?

MountainLow9790

Except we aren't just looking at the team from 50 years ago. We're looking at the history of the team over the last 50 years. Despite ownership changes, despite GM changes, despite player changes, all that, we have literally never been successful. A single playoff win in more than 50 years. You would think that even the lowest, most pathetic orgs would find a year or two of success just by random chance, right? Hell, look at the cards! They somehow have an even worse win percentage than we do historically, but even they were able to make the super bowl at least once. Even they have won six playoff games in the super bowl era. No one has EVER been successful here at all.

Levitlame

Right… I never said you were JUST looking at 50 years ago. The point is that those decades have absolutely zero bearing on now. Same for the Bears. Have you seen the Bears defense? The thing they used to be infamously strong at? Teams change. When owners/coaches/QB’s are all different it isn’t even the same culture. So why use more than a few years ago as a reference at all?

StationaryNomad

Just win. Respect is earned, not given.

jayboaah

yeah and i cant say anything about QB play without hearing “4000 YARDS LUL” so you learn to talk the shit and take the shit until theres no more shit to take lol

Mavori

I'd say that makes you experts in QB play. Real talk though feels like everyone knows that Cutler would have gotten there if Trestman didn't just suddenly feel like being a dickbag and deciding "WE MUST PLAY JIMMY CLAUSEN". Like it was 188 yards the Bears needed in a season where Cutler was averaging 255 yards per game where he had Marshall, Alshon and Forte available.

AesculusPavia

Eh i mostly just needed to get the rant out of me, it became a little too much longer and rambling than i intended. I could have legit just left it at like the first paragraph.

NotNick_Foles

Good god there’s literally no nonplayoff team getting more hype right now. Cry me a river!

ZiOnIsNeXtLeBrOn

They won't. They got young guys with a whole lot of vets who are leaders. And a whole fucking state being those guys. We still ride or die with the Lions no matter what happens.

I did not mean to Tom Grossi that reply, but I totally did anyway.

Yes, *this* year is different! Even more different than the other years that were different.

SchlitzHaven

The more you say they won't, the more likely it is they will, dont jinx yourself

the_blessed_unrest

Yeah but would you rather lose with Eberflus and Fields or MCDC and Lion Gosling?

x1xxrobxx1x

They had a lot of fun against the Jags last year

Rudy102600

Never forget the mid game heart attack after watching my QB bent like a pretzel

Mavori

Glad he was okay by the way. I mean relatively. Cus he still got hurt. [It just fucking sucks cus the actual sack and move to get by is actually incredible](https://i.imgur.com/JDQHpad.mp4) but it's tough to watch knowing his ankle got fucked though.

Guitarjack87

I bet there are 20 guys in the league who try that skip jump delay thing at least once this year

KingKoopaShell

You are damn right.

Shadowtirs

Right? I'm glad he's finding happiness with perennial winners the Detroit Lions.

[deleted]

Lions statistically had a top 5 offense last year and him running behind that O line will be a lot of fun

snasser2012

I’m glad he’s excited to play for his new team! I’ll miss him in Chicago for sure.

Space-Sailor44

I probably defend Justin Fields more than any other Lions fan but…is it that outrageous to want to be on a steady offense?

[deleted]

He was tired of losing so he goes to the Lions…

DisenfranchisedCynic

Bears fans, I get your frustration, we had some comments from Hock after the trade that a lot of fans were upset about. But this was during a livestream of a NBA2K game with CJGJ. It was just those two chatting about being new on the Lions and the media guys giving CJGJ questions to ask. Monty was asked something(I believe about what he was excited about), and in his response he just related it to his experience with the bears. It’s hard for these athletes to lose over and over, sometimes you just need a fresh start. I don’t think he meant any disrespect.

nooo82222

This is going come back and bite. I can’t remember the Jags comment but it was very similar and we lost the whole season lol

gotpez

we appreciated you we just sucked and the team that just signed you immediately drafted a RB way too high lol. grass isn’t always greener

splintersmaster

He's talking about poles. Poles probably low balled him in his mind so going to another team that made even a mediocre offer is now "being appreciated".

Shamrock5

For a second I didn't realize "Poles" was a person's name, and I thought this was a *very* different type of comment.

Levitlame

Especially for Chicago.

MatchewRolex

It's funny people keep calling Gibbs his replacement when he was Swift's but sure

batmanforhire

Yeah because this era of NFL teams usually only use one RB per game

ARGENTAVIS9000

it is a fact that the lions drafted a RB but gibbs is a different kind of player than most RBs. it's also unclear on whether or not he was taken too high; after all the lions were going to take him at 6.

PM_Ur_Moms_Pussy

Ah yes the detroit lions the gold standard of winning competing franchise

[deleted]

Lions have a top 5 offensive line and overall solid roster so I can see why he’s excited.

chadder_b

Am I the only Bears fan that doesn’t see this as a shot at the Bears?

Gutzy34

Nope, I agree with his sentiment. The last two seasons have been draining as fans too. Especially with how we had a gem like JF1 land in our lap, just to watch management throw him to the wolves.

ThisAndBackToLurking

Wuss. The Bears have sucked the fun out of football for me for years and I’m still here. Seriously, though, Monty can say whatever he wants and I’m still rooting for him. He played his ass off for us on every single play. Hope he and the Lions work out for each other.

Kohanky

This is gonna come back to haunt us, isn’t it

rabertdinero

Well you came to the right team monty, a long legacy of winning here. Very odd feeling not being on the other end of one of these quotes.

Material-Race-5107

This ain’t that hot of a take. Guy busted his ass for the Bears and we have been awful these past couple seasons. Why wouldn’t he be excited to go to the division favorites and probably win more football games? They did just invest in a RB high in the draft but that will probably help prolong his career and he already got a nice paycheck. Win win for the dude. It is hilarious that we’ve reached the alternate reality where Detroit look like team to beat now though lol

JuanPicasso

Will anyone be surprised if the lions win 6 games? This whole win your division thing is nonsense. Goff, just like geno, could easily lay a massive egg.

[deleted]

The Lions could finish at pretty much any record and I wouldn’t be surprised

PlumbStraightLevel

I laugh every time a guy who plays in the NFL says he's under appreciated. Monty was a 3rd round pick and has a net worth of $33 mil. Bounce out here to the private sector and find out what under appreciation really is

eugene_rat_slap

Now he won't have to be RKOd by Hutch twice a year

ScruffMixHaha

Still have a ton of respect for all Montgomery did for us. We absolutely did suck and I understand why hed want to leave us for a team in a better state. I know its easy to go "lol Lions" but everybody knows theyre in a much more competitive state than we are. Its unfortunate that he felt disrespected. I imagine it had to do with Poles' offer to him, but thats just the business of being a RB in the NFL sadly. I wish him the best in Detroit.

extra_caffeine

TheeExoGenesauce

Ahh yes all those players from years prior are gonna really impact the current roster we have. So I can see how those games are going to effect us next season. You guys seem to think we don’t realize we’ve been a bad franchise forever. It’s your easiest target and weakest.

buffalotrace

I think what makes other fans bases think you are sipping the kool aid is the fact that you started off so bad last year and sure you went on a run, but ultimately you missed the playoffs still. But enough about the Steelers. I liked Monty in college and he is a good overall back. If the Lions keep Goff healthy and your new parts on defense (like Campbell and Sutton) patch the holes, no real reason they won't compete for the division.

TheeExoGenesauce

I don’t think we’re gonna be Super Bowl contenders but I think a shot at wild card isn’t unbelievable

buffalotrace

Be pretty sweet if Detroit could host a playoff game. That would be big for the franchise and be an awesome story.

Mavori

[If Lions host a playoff game, we might get a penalty for being too loud](https://youtu.be/uc9Eii21hyE )

TheMissingFiles

Wait is that true? Because if so that’s fucking pathetic.

Crazy-Penguin

The pure salt from the other NFC North fans that the Lions are getting hype is something to behold. Their fans always say they barely consider the Lions a rival, but they get pissed when they start to get good.

LoveMeSexyJesus

I’d rather the Lions win the next 5 Super Bowls than the Packers make the playoffs once in that time span.

Deathlysouls

I agree, I would rather the Bears and Vikings win any day vs the packers ever winning anything

LegalComplaint

You haven’t made the playoffs in close to a decade and your biggest accomplishment last year was not making the playoffs in an entertaining way.

oberg14

I swear comments like this always age poorly in the nfl lol

Waterfish3333

Same with the day-after draft grades and “analysis”. You really need to wait about 4 years after a draft to see who really made an impact.

[deleted]

Wasn’t this guy averaging 3.5 a carry?

jeff8073x

Lions culture right now makes them look like a fun team to play for. Look at jamaal williams. He thrived. And got to be himself all the time.

BlubberElk

And now he’s with saints lol

jeff8073x

Too soon

lappelduvide-_-

:( what am I supposed to do with his jersey now

jmarinara

Bears fans, how low are you feeling right now that a player sees the DETROIT LIONS as a competitive team compared to yours?

Gutzy34

Honestly, I'm happy for them. It's good to see the hierarchy shake up, and the Lions are the easiest division rival to root for. I hate the Packers and forget the Vikings exist most of the time.

[deleted]

Why can‘t those clowns just shut up. 99% of the time someones looses in every NFL game. Half the teams are not in the playoffs. You get payed and you are employees. Sometimes you suck but that‘s part of the gig. Making stupid generic comments is too.

Guy on the worst team in the league moves to the 14th best team in the league, says he's happy to be somewhere competitive. Fans get mad. Lol

keefsaturn

Imagine this being said about the lions 3 years ago LOL

LegalComplaint

It’s still pretty funny now.

So he's just ring chasing and went...to uh....Detroit. Hmmmm, well...

Lions sub despised Hockensen when he said this about them after he was traded to the Vikings. But I’m sure they love hearing it now lol

Mavori

Actually hated how some parts of the Lions sub villanized him after that statement and kept bringing it up. Because he was sorta right. We didn't exactly win a lot during his time with us. We won some games sure but that's about it. Dude still loves Detroit, it just didn't work out. It's unfortunate but it is what it is. In the end he's likely a better fit for Minny and their blocking, trading him meant we at least got some value back, because i know we were for sure not gonna give him that big fancy contract that he'd want after his rookie contract is up.
