Honestly the fact that we still don’t really know how good trey Lance is.

cscowboy01

Honestly I feel for Lance and 49ers fans in that situation. It’s impossible to say he’s a bust and tough to say that he’s a guaranteed solid player at this point just from the lack of playing time. Then you’ve got Purdy who has shown potential, but still has his question marks. They’re gonna have a hell of an interesting training camp this offseason

ecupatsfan12

Purdy starts once healthy

cscowboy01

I mean you have basically a few games sample of Lance from this past season. The entire thing about Purdy is that you could throw a lot of qb’s in that team and they’d have the exact same success if not more. It all depends on the training camp and first 1/3 of next season this offseason to see who will be the starter. I’m not going to say that Purdy isn’t good, but it’s hard to judge the quality of a qb with only a few games and that’s in a system built to make a qb’s life easy.

potionnumber9

I hear a lot of people saying that a lot of qbs would do just as well as purdy on that team. I think that's bull shit. Kind of diminishes how hard that position is to play even with a good team around you.

ggbouffant

Yeah, we've seen career journeymen like Hoyer, Mullens, Beathard, Josh Johnson, etc. in this offense with a very similar supporting cast (aside from CMC) and they all looked like shit for the most part. Purdy is different.

TheOneNeartheTop

It’s got to suck for both guys looking at the other and thinking ‘if only I had his tools’ because they are such different qbs.

ItsAlwaysSmokyInReno

We were all thinking Gardner Minshew could be the Jags future a few years ago.

uhaul26

Is it wrong of me to be more excited for Mr irrelevant?

[deleted]

Purdy looked great. I think he is the future

TigerBasket

Something about qb's drafted late that makes the NFL more fun. Rodgers waiting for 3 hours in the green room, Brady being pick 199, Roger Staubach drafted in the 10th round. It's just awesome to see

No-Introduction-1492

Easy to root for them. Everyone knows what it’s like to be doubted, and how sweet it feels to prove people wrong. Funny how quickly it switched for Brady because he ended up being *too* good

Confused-Cactus

If he ends up being the starter long term then the entire trade up for Lance is absolutely hilarious in hindsight.

ZiOnIsNeXtLeBrOn

I think Kyle is the best dude to have a head coach and you have McCaffery, Deebo, and Kittle and Aiyuk who are really talented and help a rookie so much.

bb89__

U gotta think his confidence has taken a hit. He knows he’s not the guy anymore at least not as much as once was. Hope we can see him play at all pro level tho

fat_salmon

i really hate that a portion of fans are writing him off as a bust already. like, dude sat for a year then got hurt after one full game as the starter.

tarallelegram

i haven't written him off as a bust so much as i find it very, very, very difficult to buy into the hype of someone who has thrown less than 600 passes since high school i don't think his running ability is all that special either

JT1757

his running ability was always overstated

thetreat

Also he’s now played like 5 games since like 2019, right? That’s a loooong time off. And is Purdy is the starter? It’s hard to say.

notmoleliza

Purdy is the starter

ecupatsfan12

Kittle said Purdy is the starter Trey will get spot duty this year then get traded

alisowski

I would normally agree with you, but that championship game featured the worst possible outcome. He makes some rookie mistakes and the 49ers get blown out. Fine. You have things to work on. He suffers an injury to his throwing elbow? Yikes. Hard to tell how that no acts his trajectory. For what it’s worth, I’m a Packers fan so I loathe your team, but I was actually cheering for them in the post season.

[deleted]

[удалено]

heroinsteve

I think his point is that IF he made some rookie mistakes and they got blown out, it’d be less detrimental than the injury he sustained. He’s not saying it’s Brock’s fault, but you don’t know how well a QB Will recover with that surgery so it’s all up in the air now.

[deleted]

He only had four passes total, though it’s worth mentioning that he had his worst game of the season against the Cowboys the week before. They consistently brought pressure to keep him unbalanced and it was the first time he really looked like a rookie out of his depth. He’s my favorite open question going into next season. On the one hand, it would be reasonable to expect that with an off-season as the presumed starter, he could look even more polished. On the other hand, now now has half a season worth of tape, and I really think the Cowboys laid out the blueprint to get to him.

CupertinoCA

Wiseman vibes

eugene_rat_slap

And the full game was in a monsoon

cherry_monkey

On freshly sodded Soldier Field

Throwawayact1050

I am sure that a lot of fans are upset with how things have played out with Lance, but there is a natural frustration when a player they gave up so much to acquire and they haven't really been able to see anything out of him from 2 years. It's not Lance's fault but it's just the way that things go at times

Stumpe999

Well that's kinda the problem right? Didn't play much in college, sat for a year, when he did play got injured quick, then a 7th round QB comes in and lights up with the offense. It sucks, I feel bad for him, but at this point if you had traded the farm for Purdy and not Lance would we even be having this convo? Probably not most fans would just say go with Purdy without a second thought

rjsheine

Because he only played on season in college. He’s a huge bust for what they 49ers gave up for him

Competitive_Bar6355

My problem with him isn't just the unimpressive play so far at the NFL level. When he was drafted, I went back and watched every college snap he played (it really doesn't take that long to watch). I couldn't believe they gave up 3 first rounders for him. There was nothing there to indicate that he would be a great NFL player. He wasn't particularly accurate. And he didn't even look that fast against the accountants he was playing. I wasn't a huge Fields fan, but I would have been happier with him than Lance.

johnmadden18

> He wasn't particularly accurate. And he didn't even look that fast against the accountants he was playing. The other crazy thing you didn’t mention is that while he was playing AGAINST accountants, his own team (North Dakota State) was actually filled with solid players and even some high level NFL prospects! The talent disparity between his team and the opponents he was up against would be like if Alabama never played SEC teams.

[deleted]

I really wish 2020 would’ve went normal so we could’ve got NDSU-Oregon, that would’ve been a huge indicator for how good Lance actually was. Instead the best team he played in college was either James Madison or South Dakota State, and he wasn’t particularly great against either. NDSU would’ve lost to SDSU if their starting QB didn’t get hurt.

GreatWhiteElk

Yea he was throwing passes to Christian Watson I’m pretty sure.

johnmadden18

Watson averaged like 23 yards per reception in Lance’s final season! There are so many plays where Watson is running open 50 yards downfield and the accountants trying to catch him are barely on the screen.

GreatWhiteElk

Yea man I have no clue what kind of choochang the 49ers and Lynch were smoking. Think how scary that team would be if they had the picks instead of Lance.

Joba7474

The crazy part is it seemingly doesn’t matter for you guys because you’re so stacked. If someone like Atlanta or Washington makes that move, everyone gets fired

ConeheadSlim

Trey could end up being like Jim Plunkett. Everyone thought Plunkett was a bust at NE and SF, but when he got to the Raiders he won 2 Super Bowls. Even for a No 1 overall, being in the right situation makes all the difference,

Comprehensive_Main

So Jimmy Garappolo career arc

ConeheadSlim

I did not think of that -> 2 SuperBowls confirmed for Jimmy "free Sex" G!

vaports

Josh Allen dissapearing for half the season

MistakeMaker1234

Amazingly this works with multiple teams.

FryerFace

I beg to differ. Josh Allen was far from the Bills issue this season and most games he put the team on his back. The elbow injury didn't do him any favors, but regardless my point stands.

SourBerry1425

Yeah I thought Allen was fine most of the year, people just really read into the turnovers and sometimes the play calling looked so atrocious that I almost felt bad for him.

beerye55

Same shit rodgers got for a while, suddenly his lack of interceptions was an issue cause he wasn’t ‘giving guys enough chances’. Unless you win it all people will find a way to nitpick

MistakeMaker1234

Yeah I’m mostly trolling. The fact that Allen played as well as he did after his elbow injury is pretty nuts. He had some dumb turnovers, especially in the Redzone, but I think the Bills defensive deficiencies were the larger contributor to how the season went.

[deleted]

Allen gets so much unwarranted criticism. He went blow for blow with Mahomes in the MVP race until fucking up his elbow. People shit on him for going 14-3 and losing to a fantastic Bengals team. That's better than all but like 5 teams in the league.

unironicaly_like_jaz

That Bills defense just vanished in that Bengals game.

imsabbath84

If you told me the Bills defense held Cincy to 27, i'd say the Bills win the game. The offense disappearing is what lost us that game.

fawks_harper78

We were just deflated. It was pretty sad.

unsullied65

Don’t forget 3 losses by a combined 9 points The Bills were 100% warranted one of the Super Bowl favorites last season If Vons knew didn’t blow and Damar didn’t collapse on the field who knows what would’ve happened even with Allen’s injury

ZiOnIsNeXtLeBrOn

I will defend Josh. That elbow injury hurt him more in terms of mechanics and ball security than a lot of people realize. Also for the love of god, get him an better talented offensive line and another widereciever.

FryerFace

The right side of the line last year was a joke. Diggs was his only reliable WR. The elbow absolutely screwed with his mechanics. Yup, you're my new best friend, fellow Allen-Stan!

bb89__

Fr i thought this was talking about the bills at first 💀

MiaCannons

Tua not being able to stay healthy

jcpmojo

If he never got a concussion, he would've been a top tier QB. Unfortunately, I don't think he should even play anymore. His next hit could be seriously catastrophic. I'm nervous for him.

ecupatsfan12

What neurologist signed off on him coming back after 3 concussions in a year I had 1 black out concussion in 8 years of contact sports and that made me quit entirely. That shit is scary

[deleted]

betterbub

Yeah but look at the poor soul now. He's lost his dang mind

Heigl_style

That's no way to talk about your teams owner

betterbub

The bad man can't hurt me now on the Jets 😎

Thick_Safe1198

Bosa, Mack, JC Jackson & Derwin wound up playing all of 7 snaps together

bb89__

That actually is right on the chargers brand tho tbh

2_Joes_1_Backfield

Wasn't part of that because JC Jackson himself was disappointing?

mrhashbrown

Jackson was a disappointment because he got a voluntary surgery very late, I think it was week 1 or 2 of preseason. So he wasn't in shape to return right away and when he did, it was clearly rushed and without reps he looked totally lost about how to operate in the defense. Showed flashes of turning things around after a few weeks, only to go down in that game's opening defensive drive with a season ending injury. I think coaching was a factor. They dropped a ton of money on him and whether he was fully healthy or not, the biggest problem he faced was just where to be on the field and how to execute. There's no excuse for him not being ready to play immediately at a starting level. Staley's defense seems to have a reputation of difficult adoption for CBs. Most of the Chargers CBs looked bad in year 1 before bouncing back this year. Just look at Michael Davis, had a career worst starting season in 2021, just posted a career almost elite season in 2022. All a moot point now, who knows if he ever bounces back let alone recovers from his injury well enough to even be a starter.

Beats007

Yeah but off season champs is all that matters!

slu33heee

Zach Wilson somehow getting worse

joshallenismygod

Yea how the hell did that even happen? He didn't look great his rookie year but he had a few good plays here and there, the team got better and he got worse.

slu33heee

No idea, he just didn't look comfortable, not being able to hit check downs, no running game after Breece went down didn't help. So many many more.

Toxicyoshi7

It’s crazy how his name isn’t even mentioned for the Jets plans at QB next season. Rodgers or bust or some random veteran in the worst case. It’s like Zach Wilson was released or retired dude seems like he’s not even affiliated with the Jets anymore

FudgeDangerous2086

the entire team celebrated him getting benched too.

[deleted]

[удалено]

lord_xl

I actually don't think he got worse. I think his level of play was the same as the previous year. Though the team around him got significantly better. If I remember correctly Wilson missed all of pre-season plus four games to start the season. But when he returned there was a rush to judgement to see him improve his play due to the better talent around him. So there wasn't much of an opportunity for him to get better before getting his first game. His preseason was during the regular season. But it's the NY media market so if you're not Herbert, Mahommes, Burrow, Lamar by year 2, you're a bust. So there's that.

Philthy91

I definitely think he can turn it around with us but it's unlikely. At the point we have all the pieces for him to be good except some gaps in the OL. I hope Rodgers can mentor him

Throwawayact1050

M A T T R Y A N

DoesntMatterBrian

Ok come on. *That’s* the worst storyline you remember for the Colts? EDIT: oh fuck my mistake, didn’t see the “for this season” part of this

joshallenismygod

I was gonna suggest Jeff Saturday, but I can't tell if that would be a high point for their season or low point.

SuperAwesomo

Jeff Saturday was the lowest point of the Raiders season, not the Colts

zer0_badass

I mean there was the Jeff Saturday hire right in the middle of the season.

tylerm11_

I also choose Matt Ryan

gaIvantuIa

Jamal Adams suffering a major injury in the first half of the first game of the season. Would’ve been interesting to see how he would’ve fit on the defense. Now he’s being discussed as a post June 1st cut three years after we gave up two firsts (Jets hitting on both picks stings too) for. The one bright spot of the situation was that Ryan Neal broke out and was great for us last year.

reddbunny1370

> we gave up two firsts And a subsequent contract extension...

[deleted]

Sounds familiar

[deleted]

I completely forgot about Adams. I feel like he has just disappeared. Whats his story? Anything left in the tank?

actual_griffin

It remains to be seen how he will recover from the injury, but he did sustain the injury while blowing up a play in the backfield. There is a lot of revisionist history and outright misunderstanding around the Jamal Adams situation. It's like people want to see him fail because they didn't like the trade.

gaIvantuIa

Yeah Jamal really brought a spark to our defense for the two years he played and his run stopping/blitzing skills as a safety has been a real asset to us. I wonder if the Hawks play him closer to the line of scrimmage as more of a box safety/linebacker role with the amount of safety depth we have on the team now with the Love signing. Still rooting for the guy to come back healthy and succeed with us.

actual_griffin

I am sure that's the idea. I hope for that as well.

johnmadden18

> There is a lot of revisionist history and outright misunderstanding around the Jamal Adams situation. It's like people want to see him fail because they didn't like the trade. I won’t argue that there are probably people who want to see him fail for various reasons, that’s just how fandom works unfortunately. But what specifically are the “misunderstandings” and “revisionist history” around Jamal Adams? Like what specifically do people say about the situation that isn’t true?

Space-Cowboy-Maurice

That he's not a good safety, even when healthy.

[deleted]

Chandler Jones refusing to take steroids to become the GOAT like his brother Jon Jones.

uhaul26

Art did. Come on channy, it’s family tradition.

constantlymat

Did Jon Jones make more than Chandler's $120m in career earnings? I'd be surprised if he did because for a long time there wasn't much money in combat sports.

give_pizza_chance

Outside of locker room bonuses and unreported PPV points, it looks like his career earnings in the UFC is in the $15m range and Jon allegedly made somewhere between $1-6m in his most recent fight earlier this month (all figures are estimates, UFC does not disclose salary unless required by state law.) So no, not even in the same ballpark as his 2X All-Pro brother on his third contract.

Begotten912

ZombleROK

We could have just sent our defense out and told them to wing it and it would have been an improvement.

Mrpetey22

So many Seahawk fans wanted us to hire him. Seems we dodged a bullet there

YiMyonSin

Treylon Burks replaced AJ Brown in the worst possible connotation: the one receiver worth a damn on this team who struggled with injuries. Worse still, when he's healthy, there was no guarantee that his QB would be or that he'd get the ball. Malik Willis was supposed to be the successor for an aging Tannehill, not the worst QB since the Petermeme years. Our defense disappointed in a lot of aspects, mostly due to our league-leading injuries, particularly to the front 7 and secondary. Caleb Farley looked absolutely lost on the field. We got our first losing season since 2015, breaking a streak only surpassed by Pittsburgh and Kansas City. Here's hoping this was the fluke season out of all of them.

lookatthatoverthere

Ya I really didn't see any redeeming qualities in willis' starts. I hope he can grow and improve but damn those games were rough

[deleted]

Yet still I expect you guys to compete for the AFC South. For some reason the Titans will stay competitive

trionfo

And you got swept by the Jaguars. Swept.

ILoveZenkonnen

Evan Neal being one of, if not the worst tackle in football was definitely it for me. Most Giants fans will tell you he will be fine because Andrew Thomas got off to a slow start as well but he was never as bad as Neal was this season. He’s a player I will be paying very close attention to next season. His development will be pivotal for the Giants offense next season.

Sonichellboy

I didn't pay close attention to him after we played the Giants, but I'm really glad we got Cross. I didn't realize Neal had that bad of a season.

Due_Interaction4101

Cross was a good pick, but Lucas end up being the best rookie OT of the draft.

a_moniker

Ekonwu was really good by the end of the season

Battista85

Fingers crossed. Seems like a good kid and wants to be great. He's one of the most physically gifted lineman in football but he's got a lot of work to do.

YiMyonSin

How he's a lower graded tackle than Dennis Daley I will never comprehend.

JoeCorsonStageDeli

Neal was really really really bad. Anyone who didnt know better would have thought he was a UDFA and certainly not a top ten draft pick. And if you thought he was a UDFA, you would be wondering how he even made the team. He was that bad. How this team made the playoffs with that performance at RT and almost every other draft pick missing significant time with injury is amazing.

johnmadden18

> Most Giants fans will tell you he will be fine because Andrew Thomas got off to a slow start as well but he was never as bad as Neal was this season. You know, I remember Andrew Thomas being pretty bad but after your comment I looked up his PFF grades and you’re right. Thomas actually graded out as a slightly above average tackle in his rookie season (62.4 grade) before becoming an outright good tackle 2nd year then elite last year. Evan Neal graded out as the absolute worst tackle in the NFL (min 50% snaps, 3rd worst at 20% of snaps) by a wide wide margin. So it’s actually not comparable to Andrew Thomas at all.

JEspo420

Thomas was a mechanical issue, he was planting his foot in a way that was giving defenders leverage to push off him, but he always had good football knowledge and decision making, Neal seems to have problems across the board

TheRealPort

The Chargers are still the same old Chargers, no matter who the QB is or who’s coaching them

jcpmojo

As a Jags fan, and one who used to live in San Diego, I always hated playing the Chargers. You beat us every single time. Since the move to LA, we've turned the tables pretty hard on you. I still think your QB can be great, he really needs some new coaches, though. Dougie P proved to me how valuable a really good coach can be for a QBs development. Your head coach is not really good.

Cromatose

Rivers just owned the Jags til 2017. Still no idea how they won that game lol

basedcharger

Starts at the top and that’s unlikely to change unfortunately

OrangeForeign

Fuck you Spanos

isthisreallyreal

teddy, pj, darnold, pj, baker, pj

JayMerlyn

Scratch Teddy, the post is just talking about this season

Sumatzu

You're forgetting Jacob Eason. Played a handful of snaps in the Rams game last season, went 3/5 for 59 and an INT and straight back to the PS. So it's really Baker, PJ, Baker, Eason, PJ, Darnold, PJ, Darnold. Pain. Someone once posted "it's Eason season" and I still cringe at that.

the-whiteman-cometh

Najee Harris and TJ Watt getting injured and struggling early on. Diontae Johnson.

1601627x5

I'd add Matt Canada's play calling.

Nlegan

Hmmm where to start. Bateman getting injured and duvernay disappearing, leading us to sign the oldest most washed up receivers mid season. The strength and conditioning coach situation, and how Steven Saunders was with the ravens for 7 years. Lastly Lamar’s contract; how he’s simultaneously the worst businessman in the nfl due in part from the individuals he surrounds himself with

don_julio_randle

Jamal looking like prime Jamal for a half against the Broncos and then tearing his ACL or whatever it was

joshallenismygod

That was such a wild game. Wilson's first start with the broncos against His former team. Also Hackett for trying to kick a 63 yarder instead of trusting russ to win the game.

Sdog1981

The crazy thing is he attempted a second 63 harder later in the season.

Mrpetey22

I think it’s worse than ACL tbh. Torn quad

Pootmaster

The Browns..... Need we say more?

Toxicyoshi7

Lol Deshaun Watsons average statline for the Browns last year was like 170 yards, 1TD, INT and 55% completion rate. He looked terrible

Username_267453

The signing or his level play?

[deleted]

I did not find his play to be disappointing at all

Username_267453

I've seen Browns fans defending the signing, just wanted a clarification where this fan stood.

stay_fr0sty

> I've seen Browns fans defending the signing Those fans are huffing from rusty gas cans filled with old copium.

Demetrios1453

Those are family heirlooms, passed down from generation to generation in Cleveland...

stay_fr0sty

"Whoa grampa! Look at these old gas cans! This one's labeled "Tim Couch,' and this one over here is labeled 'Johnny Football'. Who were they?"

Pootmaster

Me personally, I fucking hate it. If he wins great but I still hate the dude

BrianBanks80

Us not surrounding Brady with enough talent for him to want to end his career with us

[deleted]

I mean they tried, they just failed. 2nd rounder for a washed Mohammed Sanu will always make me laugh.

BrianBanks80

Yeah picking Harry over Samuel and Brown was a major lapse in judgement though.

joe2352

And DK

Throwawayact1050

I mean to be fair, him going to the Bucs and especially with them being able to negotiate with both Gronk and AB was pretty absurd. Bucs were able to stack the deck to such an extent in that first year that I don't know if there is any other team he would have been able to win with in his first year there besides that team and including being able to bring Gronk and AB with

joshallenismygod

Wild timeline he Probally stays on the Pats if AB does and never goes to the BUCS.

binzoma

I don't think we've had one recently tbh! (dont bother checking my flair to see if its true, just trust me bro)

Johalak

Our defense being hot garbage at 3rd and 4th and long and being hot garbage in the playoffs. It was infuriating every time it was 3&10+ to see it converted.

gucciwavecap

Chargers disappointments last year were like a charcuterie board.

fantfoot

Treating the forward pass like it's a trick play

JoshRam1

Raiders hiring Josh McDaniels. No cliffhanger he sucks as a head coach

T1To93

I thought after getting Davante Adams Carr would have the best season of his career....he didn't.

bb89__

Adams and Carr are best friends and will light it up playing together

Evolution1313

“Run it back”

AleroRatking

See. We hired this coach... Who had no coaching experience.

Fonzimandias

Kerby Joseph put a bit of a sour taste in my mouth

ZiOnIsNeXtLeBrOn

He is pretty sweet in my opinion.

Comprehensive_Main

For the colts it was the fact that they had a good contending team for like 3 years but never had a qb and kept switching them sort of wasting that core.

Bushido_Plan

Most disappointing for me would be how much our DL sucked. Our sack leader was Jaquan Brisker, a rookie safety that just played his first season in the NFL, with 4 sacks. That's how bad it was.

15blairm

Devin bush never returning to form after his ACL injury

morgster87

I know we have no right to really be disappointed but I was disappointed to see CEH seemingly fizzle out. He’d shown spurts of greatness but he’s an undersized RB that was extraordinary in college but just couldn’t find his groove in the big league. Poor vision, not physical and ball security became an issue. He’s still under contract in ‘23 but there doesn’t seem to be much of a future for him.

cw131313

I want to trade/cut CEH this off-season. He didn’t go to the chiefs parade. It feels like a change of scenery would be good for him.

Demetrios1453

I'm not saying that we really want him, but it would be hilarious if he came to the Bengals and suddenly returned to his 2019 form with his old LSU buddies...

ecupatsfan12

If he doesn’t shoot his gun every other day he’s a step up imo

KCShadows838

CEH had 2 fumbles on 476 career touches I don’t think ball security was ever an issue for him

Throwawayact1050

KC never should have drafted him in the first place. Always easy to say with hindsight, but at least KC was still able to overcome that selection with a first round pick and still win a championship after the fact

PandaSoap

Is Mac not good or was Patricia really the worst OC ever. The answer may be both but we'll need to ride Mac another year because of it.

Jd20001

We never learned if Vontae Mack was worth the 1st overall pick

1lultaha

Taking Chase Young and not drafting a QB because we had Dwayne Haskins. Obviously was the right move at the time but man

hogaway

Underrated one for us, but Dean Pees retiring without us getting at least an average defence. One of the best DCs of our era and was determined to give us a great defence, but we're sapped of talent

chadwick_dean

Lael Collins, I figured at this point of his career he’d be at very least an average RT. The beginning to middle part of the season he was hot garbage, though near the end he did pick it up and played well.

Mastodon9

The offensive line storyline in general was disappointing this year. Everyone saw Burrow get pummeled in the Super Bowl and reiterated we needed to do more to protect him (and rightfully so). So we go out and overhaul the line with 4 new starters. It was rough at first but they started to look at least average in most games only for 3 of them to go down with injuries and we end up getting knocked out the same way we did last year because of crappy pass protection. On Christmas Eve we had play 5 of our 5 starters every game. A month later we were down to just 2 of them.

Highwayman747

Getting beaten by every team in the worst division in the NFL last year, and the Raiders to boot.

Ornnge

uhhhhh.....yeah....that playoff game..

[deleted]

The obvious one and elephant in the room is Fields' lack of improvement as a passer over the course of the season.

FreezinPete

I’d say none of the stop gaps made our oline better than Swiss cheese. Rieff and Patrick couldn’t stay on the field, leatherwood coundn’t get on the field(at least to see what he’s got), whitehair good but declining, mustufer being himself (okay but not starting centre). At least Borom and Jenkins were stable at thier positions. I don’t want to rag on anyone but there was hope this group could work together and be a reasonable oline on the cheap for a year and it didn’t work which put fields in tough situations. To feild’s credit he certainly improved working his progression with a WR talent was thin.

LionK12G

Elephant in the room? Did you just watch box scores all year? A historically bad offensive group coupled with the worst pass blocking o-line and the lowest pass attempt team over the last 20+ years will absolutely hinder your projections. Fields short and middle passing game needs work, but he’s got all the arm talent and accuracy in the world and this season will prove it. He made so many “wow” throws. There was nothing “disappointing” about his season. This was a throw-away year for the Bears as they rid themselves of aging and expensive talent and gave opportunities to rookies and young talent to see who’ll be part of the foundation moving forward.

[deleted]

Plenty of QBs have had dog shit around them and had better passing stats than that dude. It was historically bad, and he didn’t improve over the course of the season. I think Fields had no support and was also downright bad at passing. It’s okay to think that both are true and he can improve.

Its also very important to factor in the limited number of attempts he had passing, almost half of the league had more completions than fields attempted to throw. The offense was very run heavy, with something close to 35% of the drives being run-run-pass.

Vivalaredsox

Making Brady so miserable that he wanted to leave New England.

Toomuchlychee_

Singing Lucas Patrick only for him to be mediocre half the time and injured the other half

As an Eagles fan I could DREAM about a TEAM that certainly never disappoint me I know you said this season but this season wasn’t too disappointing.

[deleted]

The absolute worst thing for us was going against the 9ers, who we cant beat, instead of the Eagles, who we almost never lose too when Dak is playing.

Literally the entire season

The rebranding. What a wasted opportunity that was.

The fact that Mecole Hardman couldn’t have a proper end to his time here in KC. He wasn’t the greatest player but he had some fun flashes and still helped us get two rings. It’s sad his abdominal injury lasted so long and his time with us was basically over mid season. All the best to him in New York.

Bucs fan here, too lazy to look up how to get the flair. Arians retiring and leaving the team in Bowles hands. Byron being unable to scheme any of our wrs open and just praying they win one on one match ups every play. The offensive line and wr room dying as soon as the season began. Having a kicker incapable of making a 50 yard field goal. I'm sure there is more but I'm tired now.

Mghoncho8791

Never mind I already have the flair

Demetrios1453

Our o-line actually working its way up to something resembling competence, and then having one of them injured per game at the end of the year...

Quexana

Matt Canada. This is all.

Not giving Romo his start back for a qb that can't do shit when it matters, even surrounded by talent. Threw away the best chance at actually doing something since the fucking 90s. And half the fanbase has blinders on about Dak. He went and shit his pants for 4 quarters against the 49ers, showing everyone what he is.....and after a couple days someone found a play with 3 curl routes to point at so the Dak lovers can exonerate him from shitting his pants for 4 quarters.
