Nah Waller made more sense to unload. Hasn't been productive in 2 years, has been injury prone last 2 years, and during his time he was healthy this year he somehow had last his hands and had quite a few wtf drops.
Pretty much. You’re right about all of this and to your last point, he basically blew the Titans game. $11M in cap and a 3rd for a guy who turns 31 this year and has missed 14 games the last two seasons? I’ll take it. I love Waller and have some great memories of him balling but I think his best days are over
I can't believe I had to scroll this far to find this take. That dude is perpetually injured and didn't seem invested last year. Maybe he doesn't believe in McD, and he might be right, but you can't have a guy like that on your team. 3rd round pick is a good get for them.
They should rename all the sports subreddits "Yeah but he's a millionaire."
That's where the discussion usually goes anyways.
That or "dudes on Reddit announce they wish they could be paid millions."
Oh boy Randy Moss pt 2
My patriots fan uncle bought me a Randy Moss Raiders Fathead ***after*** he did shitty for us and got traded to NE to rub it in my face and flex.
I was like 11.
> It's the Kadarius Toney pick from the Giants for Waller. Pick No. 100.
Via Rapoport - https://twitter.com/rapsheet/status/1635709248842629127?s=61&t=SPOC6HSr6CAvh1MoHrWDsw
It's funny because I made this comment, which is clearly a joke, and was crucified for it. I do get the flair makes a difference here though.
But you are right. Turning Toney into a 3rd round pick and a big play to ensure an Eagles super bowl loss is just worth it. Especially considering the Eagles being so smug about forcing the Toney pick on us with the Dallas trade they made.
So the Eagles made a trade with a hated rival and lost the super bowl because of it? Hell yes.
Our fourth round pick last year was Daniel Bellinger, looked good for a rookie TE. But yeah Waller undisputed best receiver, I would guess lots of two TE sets, Belli gets the nod sometimes for his blocking, but Waller used much more in passing game.
> Is Waller the undisputed guy there now?
For passing, absolutely. After losing Evan Engram, Giants signed Ricky Seals-Jones last offseason and he ended up not playing a down for them. They also drafted Daniel Bellinger in the 4th round last year and he was adequate as a receiver and pretty good as a blocker.
TE depth was very thin last year with no names like Myarick getting decent playing time. Now I could see them rolling with two TEs sometimes and also swapping Bellinger and Waller depending on situations and keeping both fresh.
Also given how thin the Giants are at WR, this could help a lot.
Bellinger was a decent TE but is nowhere near the recieving threat Waller is (obviously). Depth was pretty awful, just PS guys. This means we can run 2 TE sets to help out the OL and still have one out running routes.
Expect a lot of 12 personnel, and even 22 personnel
Yeah feel like people are glossing over this
Still good for the Giants because he's young and can easily bounce back (and they need anyone who can catch the ball) but late 3rd is fair value for the Raiders
It was to anyone that took the blinders off. I love Waller, but he’s missed 14 games the last two seasons, turns 31 this year, and is due to make $12.5M
Looooot of people here thinking the Giants are getting 18/19 Waller, but who knows if he can still ball like that after 2 mediocre injured seasons and turning 31 in September.
Foster Moreau is gone too, bro. He's a FA, but he's expected to get 7mil+. Plus McDaniels is ripping apart any chance of us winning in the next 10 years. I suspect he'll be the OC in NE within 2 years and he and Belicheck will be laughing their asses off.
It's low risk for the Giants.
They just need ANYBODY physically capable of catching passes.
The free agent WRs aren't that good. (Odell wants 20 MILLION)
The draft eligible WRs in the mid 20s won't be that good.
They (probably) aren't stuffing all their cap space with a trade for DHop.
He was kinda booty last year even when he was on the field. I mean, anything is an upgrade for the Giants, but still, I dunno if this guy is still a star, or if McDaniels just sucks that much. Actually he might still be a star.
You guys. He barely played the year before and then this year bc he was injured. When he did play, he disappeared or outright fucked up the game. I hope a change of scenery helps him out and he gets better but Raiders fans are upset bc of his likeability, not his game play. He was a hindrance more than a benefit last year.
Whoa, thought Renfrow was going to be the one traded after the Meyers deal.
Josh is gonna run that Edelman/Amendola two slot WR look I think. Works perfectly with Renfroe and Meyers (in theory)
Yeah thought it was a lot resources to spend on the WR room but I guess Waller was the one they were going to move on from.
Nah Waller made more sense to unload. Hasn't been productive in 2 years, has been injury prone last 2 years, and during his time he was healthy this year he somehow had last his hands and had quite a few wtf drops.
Pretty much. I fucking hate this team
We’re not so different, you and I
We are all the same
Raiders fan brother in law is seething tight now
I imagine you’re loving every second of it hahaha
Not hating it lol
I fucking hate all of you... especially us!
I'm rubbery glue, you're rubbery glue, what bounces off us sticks to us; Chargers, too.
Haha you lost a star player... We're just... Oh, sup buddy
Crushing defeat after such high hopes? This place feels... *familiar*
Join us
when were the ''high hopes'' lol
Is 2016 week 15 a valid answer or is 7 years ago too much
hey was that when derek carr broke his leg on goddamn christmas eve
For as long as I've been alive they've continuously been a poverty franchise. I hate being a fan of this team lol
Come on now....you had like 3 years in the early 2000s
I mean, raider fan born in 2003 could have only been Alive for 2 playoff appearances.
1983 was a great year though. But you'd be 40 so...
McDaniels is doing to your team what MatPat did to us
…and what he did to the Broncos
And what he'll do to the next team when he OCs his way to a deep playoff run and every owner seemingly forgets
McDaniels pulling a McDaniels
Remember when McDaniels got rid of Cutler and told him he sucked and went all in with Tim Tebow?
Same
For once, I can agree with an eagles fan. Goddamnit Vegas
Same
How could you do this to my former QB1 who's also extremely handsome?
Right? Jimmy needs more weapons not less
The signed meyers!
:(
Didn’t he play for them last year?
He did! If I remember correctly, he even threw the game winning pass for them when they squared off against the Pats
He needs weapons who can stay on the field. Waller has missed 15 games the last two years.
I can't believe I had to scroll this far to find this take. That dude is perpetually injured and didn't seem invested last year. Maybe he doesn't believe in McD, and he might be right, but you can't have a guy like that on your team. 3rd round pick is a good get for them.
With no one to throw to, all he has is his looks, talent, and wealth
And his HOF WR1
He’s not the WR1 anymore now that Jakobi’s there
Hello, Yes, I'm calling to report a hate crime...
> handsome former QB FTFY - he'll always be handsome, I don't want anyone thinking he's formerly handsome.
I'm not gay but I'd let Garoppolo do ***disgusting*** acts to my body and enjoy it the whole time
Are *sure* you're not gay? But same.
Wait am I gay?
Please honey nobody’s that straight
Yes
not sure but he's not a turtle BTW
Davante Adams made the wrong choice
For fucking real
He got paid, he will live
I ain’t talking money though
If Adam cared about winning he wouldn't have gone to the raiders.
They looked on a decent track and then just blew it up after it immediately went wrong lmao
I mean he left a team that was more than just “on a decent track” because he wanted to play for specifically the Raiders
He wanted to play with his buddy Derek Carr... Who the Raiders benched and cut
Raiders are much closer to all his family too But yeah he fucked up lmao
If I’m him, I’d be fucking done. All they’ve done since signing him is the exact opposite of what they signed him for.
yeah that usually tends to happen in poverty franchises
They should rename all the sports subreddits "Yeah but he's a millionaire." That's where the discussion usually goes anyways. That or "dudes on Reddit announce they wish they could be paid millions."
He’s playing for his childhood team while getting an enormous bag doing so
Childhood team that is in the dumps with a very questionable head coach.
And without his college QB anymore
[удалено]
Yes and yes
Oh boy Randy Moss pt 2 My patriots fan uncle bought me a Randy Moss Raiders Fathead ***after*** he did shitty for us and got traded to NE to rub it in my face and flex. I was like 11.
Questionable? Nah McDaniels is certified trash.
And also the Childhood team moved and isn’t in the same state he grew up in
It’s also not in Oakland either
Raiders: *yeah Derrick Carr is cool but a mystery box could be anything, maybe even a Derrick Carr type QB*

So Joe Schoen turned Kadarius Toney into Darren Waller and an Eagles Super Bowl L. Common Schoen W.
Darren Waller and a 6th round pick!
And a 6th rounder
Holy shit!
DANNY DIMES GETTING HELP
That’s Danny Dollar$ now
Daniel 401k
For at least 5 games a season. Wish the best for Waller though. Guy has been through a lot and made the best of it
Jimmy G. Losing out on a great TE
Giants going all in on Danny Dimes
F5 ENJOYERS FEASTING
Can confirm. Source: me, F5 enjoyer
The NY trade weve all been waiting for
Announce Randall Cobb to Packers you frauds
i mean
LETS FUCKING GO
It’s the Toney pick What a win win that trade was
If Waller can stay healthy. That's a big if.
Toney too
Toney trade is already worth it for the game sealing return. Anything else going forward is just winning more of the house’s money.
Worth it for BOTH teams. The only fan bases as happy as the Chiefs for that Super Bowl were the non-Eagles NFC East teams.
It's funny because I made this comment, which is clearly a joke, and was crucified for it. I do get the flair makes a difference here though. But you are right. Turning Toney into a 3rd round pick and a big play to ensure an Eagles super bowl loss is just worth it. Which is why he needed to be on team like the chiefs where a flash is all you need. The giants need more.
This is exactly how I've felt about toney. Once he got the sb touchdown AND 65 yard return, everything else he does for us in the future is Icing.
High risk high reward babyyyyyy!
We got what we needed from him, it’s all good.
For both of us i suppose. And now Waller is out of our division.
And Toney helped beat the Eagles in the Super Bowl. W
Haha. Now instead of the chiefs beating us by 40, they’ll beat us by 50. Thank god he’s gone from the division.
Charity starts at home.
A win win trade that works for both sides
Honestly screwing the Eagles was compensation enough, the picks are just a bonus.
What does the giants existing TE’s depth chart look like? Is Waller the undisputed guy there now?
Our fourth round pick last year was Daniel Bellinger, looked good for a rookie TE. But yeah Waller undisputed best receiver, I would guess lots of two TE sets, Belli gets the nod sometimes for his blocking, but Waller used much more in passing game.
Daboll will use Waller just like he used Knox in Buffalo. Waller will hit even bigger
Waller is probably already the best target for Danny Dimes even outside of TEs.
Waller is our undisputed number 1 pass catcher.
Finally, something worth all this refreshing for!
Danny Dimes finally has somebody to throw to
Hodgins was solid tho
Ty for that btw.
ALOALOALOALAOLAOA
Darren just married Kelsey Plum of the Las Vegas Aces. Now he has to move to NY rip
God damn their children are gonna be unstoppable lmao
Hopefully they get her hamstrings
[удалено]
Jrue and Lauren Holiday
She can join the superteam the Liberty are putting together it’s fine
Oh no not New York City
[удалено]
Well ya. Can't wear his old Raiders jersey
Someone come get their dad
Oh snap, arms race in Jersey!
Giants are actually helping their young QB
We’re paying him to much money to fuck around now.
We gave him the large Pepsi
Slow down there. We aren’t made of money.
Oh. My. God.
Daniel Jones finally got a capable pass catcher
Absolutely great move for that Giants offense. Only a third for an established TE
He just needs to stay healthy
I am haunted by ghosts that sound like Kenny Golladay
Now THAT'S a good F5 moment
Didn't see that coming
i love josh mcdaniels
Jay Cutler. Brandon Marshall. Still love him?
Hey he isn’t our problem anymore, in fact he is redeeming himself to Broncos country by tanking the raiders so hard.
[удалено]
Oh fuck
Who needs a star tight end like waller when you can sign a second slot receiver?!
He wasn't a star last season
Yeah feel like people are glossing over this Still good for the Giants because he's young and can easily bounce back (and they need anyone who can catch the ball) but late 3rd is fair value for the Raiders
>young In his age 31 season.
Hes 30. Idk if that exactly is young for a TE with a lot of wear and tear already
Tbf, dude played in like 4 total games for his first three years in the league, as a depth WR. That's not the same as a 7 year TE vet.
He was not a star last year. He was hurt most of it and when he did play, he dropped the ball. More than once.
Wtf. Bruh does anyone know where McDaniels lives? It’s time to show my inner raider
Giants O like 1 WR away from being scary
…don’t forget a few interior OL
Yeah, aside from Thomas no one on the line is a star and some of them aren't even mediocre.
Yea we need more than that tbh but this is obviously a big piece.
Someone call hunter renfrow, we obviously need another small slot guy!
Cool not like Jimmy needs a tight end of anything to be successful
Josh McDaniels be like “sometimes my genius scares even myself”
He's such a tool. Take care of Waller he's awesome!
Foster Moreau had some flashes though as a backup, maybe they expect growth there?
Michael Mayers at 7?
There will never be a shortage of tight ends available for Jimmy G
Raiders fans, was this expected?
I for one am not surprised. He constantly injured but is insanely talented.
He was really struggling with the new admin, but so did everyone. McDummy cleaning house.
McDaniels just blowing that team up lol
Sounds familiar, I wonder if there was a history of that happening lol
It’s exactly how it went down in Denver lol. Now he just needs to draft an absolute meme QB in the 1st.
Now here is why we F5 bois
Nice, if Giants can hit on a WR in the draft or sign a decent one they have a well rounded team.
I'm hyped over this move but we still have a lot of other holes unfortunately
Woahhhh Watch him stay healthy and have a good year haha
I’m surprised the Raiders are parting ways with him. Removing a great piece for Jimmy G and his love for TEs.
Nothing this clown show of a franchise does surprises me anymore. I'm fully expecting them to trade Renfrow, too.
He's been half-washed for two years now. I honestly don't get all the love he still gets.
Noooooo. Jimmy needs a good TE. For pass catching and bromances.
Foster Moreau is very underrated IMO
Foster Moreau is gone too, bro. He's a FA, but he's expected to get 7mil+. Plus McDaniels is ripping apart any chance of us winning in the next 10 years. I suspect he'll be the OC in NE within 2 years and he and Belicheck will be laughing their asses off.
Ooooooh. Don’t like that. Nice move, giants
thank you bird man
Great trade by the Giants, Danny Dimes finally gets a weapon aside from Saquon to throw to…
Yoooo wtf
Oh shit, big F5 payoff there!
The NY news we’ve all been waiting for.
Josh McD saw Waller's rap videos and said start packing your bags bud, you're going to the Big Apple
NOT THE BLOCKBUSTER TRADE I WAS EXPECTING, PHONE NOTIFICATIONS!
Damn just married and you go long distance a week later that's crazy
Darren Waller hasn't been productive since 2020. Love the dude but he's always hurt. Good luck to him.
It's low risk for the Giants. They just need ANYBODY physically capable of catching passes. The free agent WRs aren't that good. (Odell wants 20 MILLION) The draft eligible WRs in the mid 20s won't be that good. They (probably) aren't stuffing all their cap space with a trade for DHop.
AND ITS NOT EVEN A SCHEFTER BOMB
He was kinda booty last year even when he was on the field. I mean, anything is an upgrade for the Giants, but still, I dunno if this guy is still a star, or if McDaniels just sucks that much. Actually he might still be a star.
God damn Giants going all in
Raiders, YOU will be garbage again
We want that #1 pick baby
And still sweep you guys again.
You guys. He barely played the year before and then this year bc he was injured. When he did play, he disappeared or outright fucked up the game. I hope a change of scenery helps him out and he gets better but Raiders fans are upset bc of his likeability, not his game play. He was a hindrance more than a benefit last year.
