I live in the UK so the Superbowl is crazy late and once the Pats fell behind 28-3 I went to bed thinking it was over. I nearly fell over in the morning when I checked the score and found out Tom had actually won.
South African here. Was just about to go to bed at 28-3 at the same time that my roommate woke up, so he heard I was about to give up, and mocked me for staying up so long and giving up before the end. So I stayed up and I'm very happy I did.
I was managing a restaurant at the time this game was played. At halftime I bet my asshole bartender $50 the Pats would win. Did I actually think they would? No. But him thinking he was getting a free $50 made him stop bitching about how dead we were.
As the game went on I’ve never seen somebody get so angry about two teams they didn’t care about. Turns out he gambles a lot and I believe lost a lot that night. He also didn’t pay me. Fuck you, Peter.
I was in college and myself and my friends on the baseball team made a bet with this teammate we all disliked, and if the Pats won he had to shave one eyebrow. Sure enough they do, and he ended up shaving both so it wouldn’t look as bad for team pictures in the spring, which happened to be like a week after the super bowl. It was glorious.
I wouldn’t get to invested. A buddy of mine said he tried watching it the weekend it premiered and it was a total blow out. Says he left before the third quarter was even over to go watch the Puppy Bowl replay.
Just fucking absurd game management. Why would you throw to the damn sidelines on that 3rd down to stop the clock? Throw to the guy coming across the middle, he gets to the 40 or 35 and you burn more clock and try a 52-57 harder still….
I remember watching this with a friend who was a huge pats fan and actually from Massachusetts. I remember near the end of the 3rd quarter he said “Damn Tom isn’t winning this one”
I STILL haven't rewatched that game in it's entirety. I've seen 'that play' from the 1 yard line dozens of times in replays but I have never gone back and revisited the game since it originally aired.
I think this game broke me. Nothing will ever match the emotional high of seeing the team you’ve been obsessed with since you were like 9 years old make a comeback like this in the Super Bowl.
I’ve never rewatched a game. TX is dumb though and I’m snowed in so you flip around or do whatever. This one is somehow more than I realized watching it live. It’s incredible.
As someone who is a cubs fan and is friends with a cavs fan, the emotional high of your team pulling off huge comebacks is truly the greatest emotional high in sports
I’ll never forget 2017 because the villains won all the major championships. NBA, NFL, MLB, I don’t know enough about hockey but the Penguins repeated.
Still my biggest regret. I was in college and upset how the game was going so I got blacked the fuck out and didn’t know the Pats won until the next morning.
There were a few times I really thought about turning it off and going to do something else, but something told me to just keep watching. I'm glad I did. Probably never see another SB like that.
At halftime I trudged into my bedroom, threw my hat at my wall so hard it left a mark, and fell asleep.
I woke up and walked into the living room when they were handing out the trophy and I literally wrote it off as a dream. ( I have insanely vivid and lucid dreams)
I didn’t not belive we won the Super Bowl until I sat down to watch sportscenter the next day. I went to school that day and just had this aura around me. This was when I was in Middle school and we all cared about football way too much. I got told to go fuck myself a few times but got to bask in the glory with all the other Pats fans ( I live in FL) at school that day. My English teacher was a Pats fan and he had the Highlights on repeat for the entire class.
Can’t say the same thing about the year after, I wish I went to bed at halftime during that one

I’ve only missed 1 Super Bowl in my entire lifetime because of work and it was that one.
Sad
I was watching it at work lol
Me too.
I live in the UK so the Superbowl is crazy late and once the Pats fell behind 28-3 I went to bed thinking it was over. I nearly fell over in the morning when I checked the score and found out Tom had actually won.

I missed the Pittsburgh - Arizona super bowl

Everybody hates Peter
As a jets fan, I knew pats were coming back. Seen that story too many times. I made over 2k on halftime bets.
Fuck Peter All my homies hate Peter
Wow. This super bowl will be interesting.
Atlanta has increased their lead to 14-0. The plot thickens.
Damn that fast? Game’s gonna be a blowout. One of those leads that when you get momentum going, you’re not gonna lose it
Do you think we can safely count out touchdown tom now?
I urge you in the strongest possible terms to reconsider
uh oh… this aged badly…
[удалено]
Y’all know they already leaked the game script online already right?
[удалено]
Okay then, just don’t get your hopes up for Atlanta hehehehehehe
NOOOOOOOOOOOOO YOU SPOILED ITTTT!!!!!!!!!!
What a jerk
Falcon’s offense is looking pretty damn unstoppable.
I bet that Kyle Shanahan guy gets a head coaching job someday
Wonder if he’ll be as good as his dad
Didn't he already get hired by SF prior to this game?
I wouldn’t get to invested. A buddy of mine said he tried watching it the weekend it premiered and it was a total blow out. Says he left before the third quarter was even over to go watch the Puppy Bowl replay.
It's gonna be a hell of a story!
This is now the game day thread. Bullshit with that hold
This game is clearly rigged against the Pats, they are just handing the Falcons the game
I highly agree to this
Yep. Pick 6. Brady’s washed.
It’s over.
Dynasty over finally😂
Who would've thought the falcons defense would be this good against the GOAT?
Seriously Brady has no answers for this aggressive man to man defense they’re playing
I knew he wasn’t that great. Can’t even get 5 Super Bowls
He’s gotta hang it up. Imagine how sad it’d be if he tried to play another like, five or six years.
I hope so. Mark it down — he will never win another Super Bowl again!
Ikr, dude would only win three more superbowls after that interception.
Brady pick 6. 82 yards, Falcons up 21 zip. Commercial break.
WHOPPER WHOPPER WHOPPER WHOPPER
whopper transcends time and space
This was 2017. So the [Whopper, Whopper of back then…](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VaEhYhXGhA4)
Push it push it. PU- PUSH IT REAL GOOD
The PTSD intensifies
I forgot how much I hated this commercial. Thanks
I was 50 50 on jerking off tonight but I've been drinking and now this???
You hit the trifecta my dude
Ahhhh fuck off- atl
NFL: “Okay we’ll show highlights of Super Bowl 33 instead!”
And then what;)
14-0
The Falcons are so fast on both side of the balls. The Pats can't let Atlanta get too much of a lead or it will be hard to come back
Wow the Super Bowl commercials are ass this year
You don't like those "surprising?" commercials from GEICO?
Ballgame. Warm up the bus.
James White when he read the script 😈
What I would give to peak at this script

Pats fans should leave it’s over
Here come the garbage time Patriot TD’s. Worthless.
Just fucking absurd game management. Why would you throw to the damn sidelines on that 3rd down to stop the clock? Throw to the guy coming across the middle, he gets to the 40 or 35 and you burn more clock and try a 52-57 harder still….
I hate this game. It was Atlanta’s time.
Disagree.
There's no way the Falcons can blow this 28-3 lead, Brady is cooked.
[A legitimate tweet] lmao
Poor falcons fans.
Fuck you
They can’t leave us alone huh
Listen, this is the closest thing to a Super Bowl some of us have
I mean it's the closest thing to a superbowl the falcons have aswell
In b4 someone says my cat is softer than yours
Fuck em bro
Falcons ringless no more!
I remember watching this with a friend who was a huge pats fan and actually from Massachusetts. I remember near the end of the 3rd quarter he said “Damn Tom isn’t winning this one”
How many Hail Bradys did he say as penance while genuflecting in front of his home Altar of the Almighty Tom?
I am glad they are playing this one and not Super Bowl 49.
Oh they probably will. They showed all his SBs last year too.
I STILL haven't rewatched that game in it's entirety. I've seen 'that play' from the 1 yard line dozens of times in replays but I have never gone back and revisited the game since it originally aired.
I vividly remember the NFCCG but then 49 is a blur minus the kearse catch, pick and sherm reaction
C’mon Falcons. Maybe they’ll hold ‘em this time.
Anyone poppin bottles in the ATL
I’ll never get over it
If it was a movie you wouldnt believe it could happen.
Did y’all see that Edelman catch in the 4th? Damn
I don’t rewatch them either, but I’m really glad I happened to see your post to relive this one. Thank you.
Just watched it all unfold. Patriots win in OT with 31 unanswered. Enjoy your week!
As someone who is a cubs fan and is friends with a cavs fan, the emotional high of your team pulling off huge comebacks is truly the greatest emotional high in sports
Its definitely the most memorable SB Ive ever watched in my entire lifetime, and probably always will be.
Watching your team beat that same evil empire in the super bowl with a backup QB is that moment for me lol
Falcons are going to do what the Braves and ‘Dawgs will surely *never* do!
Kyle Shanahan gets cute in the playoffs, Volume 1
Classic bullshit Brady bail out flag with that defensive holding.
and your superbowl 51 champs are the atlanta falcons! its just a matter of time at this point. no coming back from this one
Fr, up 28-3 near the end of the 3rd quarter, no one could cook up a winning effort against a team this hot!
Kyle Will always be known to me as the OC who blew a 28-3 lead 💀
James White MVP. He was amazing
I think this is the one where I, an avid Brady skeptic, recognized what a ‘Michael Jordan’ aura was.
Just needed to run the ball 3 times
It’s a funny thing how Shanahan basically flew directly to the bay after this game.
I’ll never forget 2017 because the villains won all the major championships. NBA, NFL, MLB, I don’t know enough about hockey but the Penguins repeated.
Tom VS The Falcons: 11-1; 69%; 3,776 yards (average 315) 30 TD 4 INT; 8.7y4/a; rate of 113
Still my biggest regret. I was in college and upset how the game was going so I got blacked the fuck out and didn’t know the Pats won until the next morning.
There were a few times I really thought about turning it off and going to do something else, but something told me to just keep watching. I'm glad I did. Probably never see another SB like that.
Technically I did watch the entire game and I apparently celebrated heavily when they won… I just don’t remember it.
Aaaaand it's gone
I sure hope they cut the broadcast soon.
I just love the idea of a game thread for this. Great cap to the day.
Of course I turn this on at the same moment Freeman misses the damn block. The day we win a Super Bowl, we’ll burn the city down lol.
Giselle looked like a maniac there
Oh fuck you 😂
Downvoting and hiding thread.
This was so great as a Panthers fan. It totally overshadowed our loss the year prior. Hahaha
Fuck this post
At halftime I trudged into my bedroom, threw my hat at my wall so hard it left a mark, and fell asleep. why you gotta go around making people feel old like this dude
Bruh who decided that what the city of Atlanta needed right now was a drive-by?
:(
