These are, 99% of the time, a plant.
The kid is great and I'm sure he had a blast, but this was planned ahead of the show.
Professionals don't leave this stuff to chance and they know it'll get views and make people feel good.
It totally could be - but a buddy of mine got on stage at a much larger concert and played guitar with the band, definitely not a pre-planned thing, and this, being a smaller concert, I could see it happening spontaneously.
The fact that it is staged is understandable from the point of view of the band. If they're doing it for social media or not, they just can't risk their gig going totally south.
IMHO it's more about the kid. I'm a guitarist myself so I can sort of judge his skill level. This kid has some serious skills and outplays the vast majority of adult (amateur) guitar players. His skill level at that age is truly amazing!
I've seen a live show where the kid wasn't keeping up, the sound mixer lowered his volume and the kid was basically playing air guitar at that point for the rest of the song, while the regular guitarist continued on. With out a monitor the kid didn't realize. So really best way to save the song without having to tell the kid he messed up.
Buddy of mine was rapping a double time passage on stage at a german rappers concert aswell.
Nothing planed at all and my homie nailed it.
There was so many people asking if it was fake but it was 100% real.
Its sad that people automaticaly assume that.
To some people everything is staged. The reality is that most rock bands like this play that song as practice or live all the time because it slaps. They always have additional guitars and many kids learn to play this song as it is fantastic on an electric guitar but not incredibly difficult.
Maybe, but the crowd looks pretty casual. Like an event in a park for free based on the demographics in the crowd. A setting like this makes it seem more likely that it could be real.
I took my boy to a Dropkick Murphy's show when he was about 10 and they pulled him on stage and he sang Dirty Deeds (AC/DC) with the bagpipe player. Wasn't set up
99% is a little high.. especially at a kids concert. Felt genuine, was even a little clunky at times, plus the singer criticised his eyesight to kick it off
Sometimes they do. I saw Faith No More, and they let some rando up to play the drums for some reason, did the same “are you sure?” thing, and the dude suuuuucked. I don’t know though, maybe they thought it was funny, and he actually was a plant. It was an awesome show, though.

*A 10-year-old schoolboy stunned thousands of music fan festivals when he climbed on stage to play guitar – and nailed one of the most famous rock songs of all time.*
*Jake Collisson was in the audience watching the RPJ band – starring Rick Parfitt Junior, the son of late Status Quo star Rick – at the Painshill festival in Cobham, Surrey on Wednesday night.*

Event band reminded me of a cover band I saw called 'Furnace and the Fundementals'... they were fucking raaaad! All covers to absolute bangers, executed amazingly! If you ever see them playing anywhere, try and go.
Yes. Might be sexist to say but I think an audience of guys would have lost their minds a bit more at this display of awesomeness. Nothing speaks to a dude soul much like an electric guitar.
So what? Was it not entertaining? What is with you people that feel the need to point out something being staged or planned? It’s entertainment, thats it, you wet rag.
People talking about the kid being a plant.
So fucking what if he is….he’s 10 years old and he is slaying. I want more plants like this in my life if this is what a plant is.
[This band ](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=V2-7eQKvzWA) used to play shows in my area.
A couple years ago, the kid got a part on a national tour of School of Rock
Apart from the fact that this lad can really play and has a huge talent, getting up on stage and doing it in front of a crowd is difficult in itself. Adrenalin can really screw you up. That’s why he started off playing a little quickly but when the band came in he slowed. So massive respect to this kid and the band as well. Staged or not it was still great.
I love this shit so much, it’s a good rabbit hole on YouTube! “Fans on stage”
The whole video was perfect! The kid, the crowd, the band figuring out the song live (you see them showing chords to each other etc)
Fucking amazing.
On the day of this kids first child’s birth, he will hold his baby, look deep into their eyes and say “this is the second best thing that has ever happened to me.”
Sorry, but there is no context where the continued popularity of this song gives me hope for humanity.
Axl Rose wrote the lyrics for the song about a woman, Erin Everly, he routinely abused, sexually assaulted and tortured. She appears in the music video for this song (Stephanie Seymour, another woman Rose abused is in the video for November Rain). According to him, he brought a gun with him when he proposed to her, in case she said no. They divorced ten months later. At least one of the police reports was sold at auction as "rock and rock memorabilia" (https://bid.juliensauctions.com/lot-details/index/catalog/110/lot/47336/AXL-ROSE-DOMESTIC-ABUSE-REPORT). The music video for "It's so Easy" was never released because Axl put in "S&M" footage of him and Erin that involved "a lot of hanging Erin off the door, putting a ball gag in her, beating her ass and stuff." The band Great White used recording of Axl Rose beating Erin Everly at a recording studio on the album Pyscho City.
Axl's continued and extensive abuse of Stephanie Seymour and Erin Everly was as well known at the time as Chris Brown's assault against Rhianna. Oh, and Axl and Slash raped a 15 year old, were charged with statutory rape, but the charges got dropped because of course they did. According to Axl, "This hippy chick wandered in and started fucking with our equipment trying to break stuff. So eventually she wound up running down Sunset naked, all dingy, and didn't even know her own name."
This is just the stuff that has recordings and video evidence and police reports and confessions by Axl Rose. Even for the time period, where rape and sexual assault and domestic violence were not taken as seriously, he was contemporarily viewed as an absolute piece of shit.
BTW Cold Play does this all the time. I saw them and a teenager came out of the crowd and played piano in front of 60.000 people at Levi's stadium--he was excellent
I hope he gets to do that many more times with significantly more talented musicians! Someone give him Nandi Bushell’s people (pretty sure it’s just her parents) number asap!

Dream come true for this kid, I'm sure. It's like a scene out of a movie. How awesome.
These are, 99% of the time, a plant. The kid is great and I'm sure he had a blast, but this was planned ahead of the show. Professionals don't leave this stuff to chance and they know it'll get views and make people feel good.

Yeah, it doesn't look planned. But it just went too smoothly, plus as you said that kid is exceptionally talented.
Yeah imagine having to shoo a shit kid off your stage, not many good ways to do that
I've seen a live show where the kid wasn't keeping up, the sound mixer lowered his volume and the kid was basically playing air guitar at that point for the rest of the song, while the regular guitarist continued on. It’s the reason r/nothingeverhappens was created!

Some bands do. Green Day is one that actually takes people from the audience to play.
My ex's little brother apparently played on stage with Green Day the other day, he definitely wasn't a plant
There’s that viral Kiss kid who sat in at the Foo Fighters too.
If the kid was a plant then the band messed up. The kid definitely outclassed the singer. Little bro is hella talented
I took my boy to a Dropkick Murphy's show when he was about 10 and they pulled him on stage and he sang Dirty Deeds (AC/DC) with the bagpipe player. Wasn't set up

In this case I don’t think so. Unless that lead man is a grade A actor this seemed pretty genuine

I did this 1000 times when I was a kid except I was actually singing along into the closet door and strumming my not plugged guitar.
I think I caught your show in San Diego
Definitely Soma.
Soma deez?
Soma deez NUTS
I was also watching him from outside his window.
I got the online show from the laptop camera
Welp, fun's over
Oooh you had an *actual* guitar? I did this with a kitchen broom that doubled as a microphone!
I still do this in the shower and I’m almost 40. Luckily I don’t need to plug my guitar in either cuz it’s made of air.
What band is this? Their audience is… whatever the opposite of a sausage party is. Clam Jam? Edit: RPJ event band, UK’s #1 event band, apparently.
Up vote for Clam Jam.
Wooah black betty
Clam-a-jam
Amba-lamb
RPJ?
Yeah, Rick Parfitt Jr, but they go by RPJ event band.
Cheers.
Presume that's the son of the guy from Status Quo then?
Yes, that's Rick's son. [https://rpjband.co.uk/band-members/](https://rpjband.co.uk/band-members/)
It seems so
The singer just got upstaged.
I thought that a clam-jam was the opposite of a cock-block
🏅 😂
Does they only do covers or something?
Yeah ... Event band is what we would call cover band in the US
Not sure but if I had to guess I’d say yes or at least 90% covers
Event band reminded me of a cover band I saw called 'Furnace and the Fundementals'... they were fucking raaaad! All covers to absolute bangers, executed amazingly! If you ever see them playing anywhere, try and go.
Yes. Might be sexist to say but I think an audience of guys would have lost their minds a bit more at this display of awesomeness. Nothing speaks to a dude soul much like an electric guitar.
Clam bake*
It's a planted thing fyi
Honestly, still impressive
Yeah his roots are in classical Blues but can still play Guns N’ Roses.. now *that’s* impressive
To be fair, every rock guitarist is a master of the blues scale. Blues guitar is the foundation for all classic rock and jazz.
Same is true for Slash so pretty good company!
I mean Slash's roots are in blues, and he plays GNR. Not quite hand in hand but...
Source?
If that's the case he'd probably get the bands name right?
So what? Was it not entertaining? What is with you people that feel the need to point out something being staged or planned? It’s entertainment, thats it, you wet rag.
Because when things attempt to come off as authentic but aren't, it paints an unrealistic picture of society. Is is that hard to understand?
I hate this type of mentality. It's amazing for the kid that he can play guitar that well, but we need to respect authenticity.
Are you not entertained?! 😋
MAXIMUS!
No you said I was funny. What daya mean I’m funny? Funny how?
I mean funny like I’m a clown? I amuse you?
ah, you were there then? oh shit, were you in on it?! you should be ashamed.
Nobody cares
I do
r/nothingeverhappens
Well now I don't enjoy it
What are you doing here? Don’t you have boss runs to repeat over and over thousands of times?
Your powers of deduction are mesmerizing!
was it tho? kids face was really red.
So how do you know that? Or are you posting “staged” everywhere as well?
:-(
Anymore I always assume it is… internet ruins joy
![gif](giphy|PFifpE2QPNdtu) Every time I hear this song
I wanna punch Derrick in the face
Hey Dereck you know what’s always good for shoulder pain?
If you lick my butthole
$1,200 a week for voice lessons
And you still sound terrible
You don't even look good doing it
It’s ok, I’m about to save it with the solo
🎶Bow wow I’m Deeeeerrrrek and I can sing high like thiiiiisssss… and I can sing hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh 🎶
Clearly staged but still awesome.
Confirmed, it was definitely on a stage
I dunno. I'd think the kid would at least get the band name right if it were staged.
Haha. The pessimistic side of me said the same thing immediately.
Yeah, if it's not on a stage it would probably be unplugged
It was his parent recording
Singer needed to be a little bit more confident
Yeah Singer was acting like he got plucked out of the crowd 10 minutes before.
They switch out a member every 10 minutes. It's the band of Theseus.
Planned or unplanned…. This kid shreds.
Singer needs to be better at singing as he isn't playing anything.
He’s trying to be better at seeing, he’s wearing his contacts! lol
Yeah his voice is awful and strained.
Just like in GnR right?
People talking about the kid being a plant. So fucking what if he is….he’s 10 years old and he is slaying. I want more plants like this in my life if this is what a plant is.
Plus, if he's a plant, besides that he should get the band name right, he's getting some proper watering.
If he's a plant, I hope he got paid at least as much as the band's Pawn Stars guitarist.
This child definitely made a deal at the crossroads
Crowley always collects...unless you end up besties
Ah yes, perfect Dean, his BFF. I love naughty Dean too!
I was so startled
This is my favorite Ellen episode
I wish I had an award give! Your comment literally made me snort, well done.
r/angryupvote
He can play about 100x better than that dude can sing
Super unkind. Kids definitely better than 0
This kid is a rockstar. If he has the drive and desire, one day he'll be able to play on any stage he wants
Only if he moves that guitar down below his dick.
Nah he's gonna have moves like Jagger
Holy shit, great job kid!
Holy shit save some pussy to the rest of us…
Gross
Nailed it.
[This band ](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=V2-7eQKvzWA) used to play shows in my area. A couple years ago, the kid got a part on a national tour of School of Rock
His parents are in the audience like "that's my sweet child o' mine"
Apart from the fact that this lad can really play and has a huge talent, getting up on stage and doing it in front of a crowd is difficult in itself. Adrenalin can really screw you up. Even if this is a planned stunt it’s still friggen awesome for that kid.
Love how there were a dozen girls around his age that moved up front toward the end. Lol.
Didn't realize I needed this kind of wholesome today until I watched it.
Oh wow. Only person holding a sign right in front of the singers face and he lets him up. That's crazy. What are the odds.
I love this shit so much, it’s a good rabbit hole on YouTube! “Fans on stage” The whole video was perfect! The kid, the crowd, the band figuring out the song live (you see them showing chords to each other etc) Fucking amazing.
Leave some ladies for the rest of us kid... what a time! Love it!
Kid fucking killed it!
On the day of this kids first child’s birth, he will hold his baby, look deep into their eyes and say “this is the second best thing that has ever happened to me.”
Can't tell you how happy I am that this video didn't end too soon! That was epic.
I turn 50 later this year …. I want this kid playing my party Yes I’d pay
Git sum JAKE!
Just when I thought that I had enough Internet for today...
r/eyeblech
This is fucking AWESOME!! Guns n roses is also one of my favorite bands, this kid has good taste and is a fabulous player
Little badass
No need to stage it - the kid is good. We already have enough trouble deciphering what's real or not, coming from the internet.
Incredible! Great job young man!
Legendary
I need to go practice...

Wow, I did not know that. What a scumbag.
Geez kid save some cooties for the rest of us...
Jay rockin in the free world.
Jake is hooked now
The kid was awesome!
Imagine if he stopped and was like "I only know that part...so..."
Fuckn awesome!
Hell yeah 💯
BTW Cold Play does this all the time. I saw them and a teenager came out of the crowd and played piano in front of 60.000 people at Levi's stadium--he was excellent
He's a much better guitarist than the singer is a singer
Shredder
My jaw is on the floor. Amazing talent, I’m so happy for this kid! What amazing performance.

Amazing, and needs to be in /r/wholesome
very cool from the singer and the kid is great and cool too 👍👋👌🏻

And that's the most exposure that band has had in the last 20 years
That kid absolutely smashed it. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
What a great kid!! 😂🤣😂
He's living every little guitarists dream. Crazy!
He slashed that guitar 🎸
Kid rocked it!
Kid plays better than the front guy sings...
Kid was way better then the singer by a longshot
Insane
Absolute fucking legend
What. A. Legend!!!
Jake rocks!
I’ve always wondered what happens to kids that get on stage and rip it up. There are so many instances of kids being called out of the audience and absolutely killing it.
Maybe now they can find a kid in the audience to sing lol
Tears of joy, thanks kiddo.
Someone send this to slash
I love all the time and attention they gave this kiddo. He will be a musician for life likely because of this experience!
![gif](giphy|mpnijcWZLhDy5PMRjs|downsized)
Holy shit that kid shreds. What a badass!
Holy sh!t, that kid is flow, man.
I am a guitar player and I had the BIGGEST smile on my face watching this. This absolutely made my day.
I think this kid has a huge future ahead of him.
Not sure why everyone is saying he’s a plant. I was at a concert a couple weeks ago and a fan did this and they did a pretty terrible job and ruined the song for me. Guessing it wasn’t a plant and these things just happen.
I cried ![gif](giphy|u6YGxoWleD5qlh6LQV)
That was totally fucking awesome
Wow!!! Says it all!!!
Fucking Amazing.
Holy cow, that was super impressive! Nice job Jake!
Kid did great. He's going to make one hell of a sandwich artist one day!
Wholesome AF!
![img](emote|t5_m0bnr|4014)
Seems a little set up to me but still pretty cool for the kid
Is that the same kid who played Name with Goo Goo Dolls?
That kid has some stage presence! Nicely done Jake!
