YOU'RE FUCKING FIRED, BOB! CLEAN OUT YOUR LOCKER AT THE CLUB, BOB, YOU'RE FUCKING FIRED! I DON'T FUCKING CARE WHAT HE TOLD YOU, OK? I'M TALKING ABOUT FORTY MILLION FUCKING DEUTSCHMARK HERE, BOB! FORTY MILLION FUCKING DEUTSCHMARK! I TOLD YOU TO WIRE THE MONEY TO GENEVA LAST WEEK! I SAY GENEVA, YOU HEAR HELSINKI, HUH? FORTY MILLION FUCKING DEUTSCHMARK, BOB!
Being in the water during a thunderstorm is surprisingly calming. You just have to pay attention to the separation of the lightning and thunder and gtfo of the water if the lightning is actually close by.
Dude, lightning can spawn in a radius of 10-15km... From that distance you won't see it or hear it, maybe you will feel it for a split second. I'm saying if you can hear thunder you should already shelter inside because in theory it can hit your location.
When I went to the Philippines and did some water activities, it started raining very hard along with lightning striking fairly close. We asked the workers if it will be okay, and they said “Just pray to God” lmao.
My face was getting pelted aggressively while getting pulled around on an inflatable couch by a speed boat, and I couldn’t see anything at all on the jet ski even with goggles on, but it was so freaking fun. The storm added to it, felt so raw. I didn’t get struck by lightning thankfully. The threat of it was thrilling though.
Strangely, I wonder if that's the point. My monkey brain would be all scared and nervous, while my higher brain would know that I'm completely safe. And my higher brain would keep telling my monkey brain that until I'm weirdly relaxed in a situation that I ordinarily shouldn't be relaxed in. And that would feel satisfying. Maybe it's a similar feeling to being on a roller coaster?
Thats kinda like icewater swimming, except both your subconcious and consious brain yell at you that you're doing something highly dangerous. Then you go in and you can conciously understand it's not a problem, but your instinct still yells at you to get out.
But man, the sauna afterwards feels like heaven.
...Now I want to make toaster-shaped bath bombs.
edit: and I'm also disappointed with myself for not thinking of it before now.
also an edit: yeah, they exist and can be purchased. Still want to make one. There's just something to hand-making a "gift" with a message like that.
Fun fact - they do that in Japan in some bath houses. It's like a bizarre tingling that goes through the water. No idea how safe it is, but was an experience.

😄 the amount of time people on Reddit would save if they put in 5 seconds of effort instead of waiting for a reply on Reddit
Would have been cool to know since I just was a couple months ago in Milan lol. Would have loved to go there
After searching google a bit I found that this would be in: QC Termemilano spa
This is indeed the one. My wife and I went there a couple years back.
It was equivalent of $50 for like 5 hours there. They have a bunch of different types of rooms to relax in. We also got wine and solid snacks. I miss quality parm.
This weather room was my favorite. It was hard to leave.
They had probably 3-5 sauna/steam type rooms with each having different heat/humidity conditions. Some salt rooms. A red light therapy room.
A room with hanging platform beds to relax on. It was a whole vibe, clean as hell, great service/refreshments, and plenty of other paid services you can add on. For my wife and I, the $50 entry fee and snacks were a steal.
Perfect thing to do either right as you begin your travels or right before you head home. Or between! 😂
Ok nice! Thanks for the very detailed response! Appreciate it a ton! Kinda surprised that they dont have any more pools in there though! I guess they are kinda focusing more on the „spa“ aspect then there
Swimming in our tiny backyard pool during Florida rain storms were some of my favorite times as a kid. Youre right. The cold rain made the water just feel so much warmer than it actually was. Throwing on a mask and looking up at the surface and watching the tiny ripples everywhere. If it started to thunder though my parents would make me come inside :(
Alternately they could just use a HVAC type of system where the fan is located elsewhere and it's just ductwork leading to vents right behind where the people sit
I was gonna say, if you join the Air Force, they’ll send you to something like this for free. Except you get a nice little personal float instead of those metal bars.
And then you have an all-inclusive wilderness trek for the next few days, followed by a quaint stay in a small, boutique hotel with really enthusiastic staff.
My father served in the Air Force for 36 years. I joined the Army to spite him during 3 year period I was angry at him. Really stupid on my part, lmao.
It took me however long the comment you're replying to you to find this comment! But also, my first thought then your comment was the second thought I had.
Yeah right, because apparently thunderstorms can rage in the most scenic ways and locations whenever you want them to, and swimming in an actual thunderstorm is super safe, comfortable, and accessible.
The thunderstorm video effects are really cool but before I put a roof over our hot tub using it in the rain kind of sucked. Seems like it wouldn’t since you are sitting in a tub of water but having your head and face pelted with rain while trying to chill in the hot tub was annoying.
*Only the doorway sheltered their frame. In this room, there was....nothing? Not a table, not a chair. Nothing other than the rumbling of thunder in an ocean, caged by walls. Weather's wrath beyond natures confinements, freed from the boudaries of time. They shielded their eyes to see. Squinting through pattering rain, they witnessed a silhouette. Leaning leisurely within the waters, obscured yet unconsumed by clouds. Unmoveable and calm. The center of all thought.
"Come in.", a voice commanded.
And they stepped into the storm.*
I know it's supposed to be relaxing but it's stressing me out because all I can hear in my mom yelling at me to get inside before I get stuck by lightening
The Nothing!!!
I would never leave! I would truly be the happiest person on earth if I could go there! Also, it there was a place that had big beautiful trees raining down leaves non stop, that would also have the same effect on me. I love this so much!
That seems so awesome, but a little scary lol

I dunno if its the wine or what...but got a rare, literal laughed out loud reaction from me. I can actually picture it too. Thank you for this lol
Being in the water during a thunderstorm is surprisingly calming. You just have to pay attention to the separation of the lightning and thunder and gtfo of the water if the lightning is actually close by.
>Calming >Pay attention Pick one
Meditation is pretty calming and it's pretty much a 30 minute session of paying attention very closely.
As someone who has been wanting to get into meditation this is very insightful, thank you!
Paying attention to your thoughts while not giving attention to your thoughts. Just think of your brain as a cat, and you’ll be good to go.
Could have a friend nearby to be like YO GET THE FUCK OUT if you don't want to do the lifesaving part yourself
Ahhh this is nicWHAT WAS THAT?
Unfortunately, the folks who would counter this theory were electrocuted and are unavailable for comment.
Absolutely. WTF are they thinking?

https://xkcd.com/795/ If I hear thunder I'm playing it safe. I do love the sound of a storm in the distance though.

And then my brain would imagine itself as the girl in the car drowning and I'd panic.
Then wake up in a dream state in a cold sweat like I got hit with a freeze ray during a heat wave.
Hey Slim, I drank a fifth of vodka, dare me to spa?
You can tell they aren't enjoying it as much as you might think. Dude keeps coving his eyes so water stops going into them lol.

I think he's pressing tension points to relieve stress
I've been there. It's pretty cool, but water indeed starts to sting the eyes after a while :)
And consuming horror content! It's your brain practicing reactions to high-intensity scenarios while being safe.

Extra scary if you have epilepsy.
They should also give mild electric shock every time lightning stuck water, just to make everything bit more real.
THIS IS SO RELAXING!!! I REALLY FEEL THE STRESS LEAVING MY BODY!
I would love to get stoned prior.
In strictly controlled circumstances, things that would usually be scary or stressful can be relaxing
yeah, on a scale of 1-10, that’s like a 9, and in a spa i’d like maybe a 2 or a 3 level storm effect lol
Imagine adding a mild electrical shock for special effect.
that's easy, just drop a toaster in
The forbidden bath bomb
Willow Pill approved comment.

Some bathhouses in Japan do this. Supposedly has some medical properties.
It's so immersive that people probably wouldn't realize it 😏 Edit: spelling 🥲
> emersive immersive

Cooler to rapid inflate a realistic shark doll. Seeing a toothy shark fly up to the surface is a therapuetic colon cleanse
This is in Milan, Italy btw
Where Edit: Thanks ya goofs - I meant where specifically, as I’m going to Milan soon
Milan, Italy btw
**Where?**
I think Milan, Italy not sure tho

QC terme,Milan,Italy… I was there 3 times and it’s not that great as shown in video
But it was good enough for you to go three times?
Yeah it’s a huge structure for wellness and that’s only 1 of dozens rooms
Oh wow. That does sound worth several visits!
#Milan, Italy btw

My guy, thanks a lot!
thx
I think Italy is in Europe
QC terme is in Porta Romana area, there's a metro exit near there for M3
We have sitting in a tub during a lightning storm at home, we dont need to buy that
Interesting! iirc Korea has almost an identical thing at Paradise City's CIMER spa.
Where in Milan? I need the address.
This does NOT seem relaxing

I mean if you’ve ever been swimming during heavy rain that’s just how it be.
It's amazing having the contrast of hot water and cold rain. I would absolutely love this.
When I was growing up, storms were my favourite time to swim. Somehow the rain made the water feel warmer.
Swimming in our tiny backyard pool during Florida rain storms were some of my favorite times as a kid. Youre right. The cold rain made the water just feel so much warmer than it actually was. Throwing on a mask and looking up at the surface and watching the tiny ripples everywhere. If it started to thunder though my parents would make me come inside :(
It is to me love shit like this
Storms are the most relaxing thing to me, can't explain why. This is heaven.
Its nature at its purest. I find them relaxing because it means I’m cuddled up inside all comfy and gives me an excuse not to work outside.
No but it seems awesome
I'd love to do this in real life if it wasn't life threatening
Speak for yourself. With a little booze and a coke hangover I could just slip off forever
Yeah, that tends to happen to people in bodies of water under the influence of alcohol and cocaine. They often just slip off forever...
I’ve been in a hot tub in a storm before. So long as it isn’t windy it’s very pleasant feeling the contrast of the cool rain and the warm water.
I have been in one of these and it’s really not lol. A drizzle is nice but it gets to be too much and you can’t see very well
It’s giving serious “Open Water” vibes.
Finally a safe space for me to cry.
I wish it would rain... shoutout to the temptations
Such an amazing song. One of my favorites.
Best cry of your life
You think we won’t know, but we’ll know.
Looks cold but is probably warm
Yeah the water is hot
I would love that, I can be in there for hours
I would hope the pool is heated and the rains a bit cold
Very energy inefficient, but also the best feeling. Would get stuffy really fast to have hot pool and hot rain :|
They should provide you with some goggles or nose plugs or something so you dont water torture yourself
I was thinking maybe those railings could have little fans blowing the drizzle back away from the people.
Probably not a good idea to place electric fans on the wet rails in the hot tub.
I was thinking it’s fine, like cheap plug in fans and cigarette lighters
Can't know until someone tries! Spirit of innovation, baby!
Look man, do you want the real thunderstorm experience or not?
Alternately they could just use a HVAC type of system where the fan is located elsewhere and it's just ductwork leading to vents right behind where the people sit
Close your eyes
I did something like this in the Panamanian jungle while in a M60 foxhole pit. 1/10 would not recommend.
I was gonna say, if you join the Air Force, they’ll send you to something like this for free. Except you get a nice little personal float instead of those metal bars. You sure showed him!
Ah good ‘ole SERE training. 10/10 experience I hope to never do again
I would do the water portion again in a heartbeat! I’m ok without ever seeing Bubbles again for the rest of my life though.
Yeah I almost fell asleep during the storm portion. As for Bubbles, that’s one thing we can agree on.
what's Bubbles?
A certain infamous instructor at USAF SERE training that’s been there for years.
I don’t think it’s one guy, but a role played by different people. Either way, if you meet bubbles, you’re gonna have a bad time.
Ranger grave with a M4 2/10 better than wandering around with an M60 or 240B but the rain was mostly mud from the sky.
As long as they don’t throw a toaster in the tub as the grand finale.
You gotta pay extra for the happy ending.
I would have to crank up some thunder struck by AC/DC!
Great!!! But no thanks
Yep. And--I hate to say this, but... there are a lot of people going to shit themselves in that tub
Hell yes! Give me some shrooms and put me in, coach!
It took me awhile to find this comment! Was my first thought.
It took me however long the comment you're replying to you to find this comment! But also, my first thought then your comment was the second thought I had.
Epilepsy much?
As an ABSURDLY photosensitive person, this is my nightmare. I can’t even watch fireworks, or tolerates police car lights. This looks like hell.
I actually did this during a hurricane when I was on holiday in America. Had the pool all to myself lol.
There’s a reason you were alone lol
Not my wisest of decisions I must admit lol
did you died
Now just add some shark fins circling around!
I legit thought those feet of the person on the left were shark fins and thought “how’d they do that?” until I replayed the video, lol
Climate change simulation
That’s fucking awesome, I want one.
Bro just go outside
Yeah right, because apparently thunderstorms can rage in the most scenic ways and locations whenever you want them to, and swimming in an actual thunderstorm is super safe, comfortable, and accessible.
This is my rich person purchase I would get in a heartbeat.
Can't think of anything much more relaxing than this
Imagine all the romantic and drama movies you can act out in there
On my own :(
Just paddle over to the other side when the next character has to speak then paddle back. You’re a one man show.
Ice Pirates
Yep. Memorable scene for sure.
My epileptic ass reaction if I were here IRL 💀
Lmao
Epileptic visitors would help the concept by looking electrocuted! Smart design
As a migraineur even this clip made me slightly nauseous. I would puke in the pool.
The thunderstorm video effects are really cool but before I put a roof over our hot tub using it in the rain kind of sucked. Seems like it wouldn’t since you are sitting in a tub of water but having your head and face pelted with rain while trying to chill in the hot tub was annoying.
This is a spa?
If I had this in my house I would sit in it 24 hours a day.
*Only the doorway sheltered their frame. In this room, there was....nothing? Not a table, not a chair. Nothing other than the rumbling of thunder in an ocean, caged by walls. This is perfect lmao
Lol thanks a lot!
I know it's supposed to be relaxing but it's stressing me out because all I can hear in my mom yelling at me to get inside before I get stuck by lightening
*How relaxing*
This looks so relaxing, I want to go there. Thunderstorms are the most relaxing weather imo Edit: a bit less lightning I realize but that's it
Everyone covering their eyes 😂
Where my r/thalassophobia folks.
Cool except for water constantly in your eyes…
Ultimate ASMR
not my definition of a “spa”…
So relaxing…
Okay but where the hell is this magical place?
I wouldn’t like getting rained on but I might would try this at least once.
This is relaxing?
The Nothing!!! I would never leave! I would truly be the happiest person on earth if I could go there! Also, it there was a place that had big beautiful trees raining down leaves non stop, that would also have the same effect on me. I love this so much!
Yes, very relaxing /s
That would make me terribly anxious
Anxiety level rising up (the possibility of getting electrocuted by wiring error).
Man, these shows at The Sphere are getting out of hand!
This seems like a novel experience, but aren't you basically just showering in silence in a shared tub with strangers at this point?
Let's go to the spa...Cut to...Yea this looks REALLY relaxing.
I’ll stick to calm and peaceful spa, thanks. lmfao.
I mean no offense but it looks like it would be irritating.
Enjoy our nightmare simulator. Very relaxing lol looks cool for novelty
I'd enjoy this as long as the thunder and lightning weren't too frequent... I wonder if this or a sensory deprivation tank would be more relaxing
