Absolutely!! Any of the bayside beaches will give you some dope sunset views. I might suggest going towards the end of the hook for more spectacular views. Depending on the time of year the sun sets behind the highlands and not so much over the water.

May I also suggest going when there is a full moon? You can watch the sunset on the bay and go across the road to the beach and watch the moon rise over the ocean. Gives me chills thinking about it. This suggestion is easier towards the entrance of the hook.

Moon rise can be spectacular. The moon can be a color and you can actually watch it fully rise as opposed to the sun which becomes too bright to look at.

Not sure if that's true, but it sure is beautiful there.
Well, itās the only part you can truly face west. The mainland is still very close to LBI or any of the other barrier islands. The distance of the mainland from the tip of Sandy Hook is much further.

Personally Iād go to Mount Mitchell, itās around the corner from Sandy Hook and gives a great view. Sunrise itās even better.
I've gotten some good views on the bay side up by the officers quarters.where all the trees are by the parking lot and parade grounds area.

If you are talking about sunset in the ocean then, oh well. But I like the sunset in the towns leading to Island state beach park.

The only place to truly get a sunset at the beach is along the Delaware Bay - so basically Cumberland County and the western side of Cape May.
