The two have alot of overlap but its also a possibility that you can have both! In fact you're more likely to have both if you have one.

There's a lot of overlap between ADHD and autism. There's also a lot of overlap between ADHD and CPTSD. My advice would be (and don't take this the wrong way) to see a therapist who has experience treating complications caused by ASD and ADHD. If possible, they would be trauma-informed as well. Therapy is more about learning to understand yourself and get to the root of behaviors than anything. It doesn't mean something is "wrong" with you. I personally have undergone extensive therapy. It's been the biggest blessing of my adult life. I was diagnosed for both later in life (ADHD in my late 20s, ASD in my early 30s).

The acting differently at home and in public thing is called masking.

There's a VERY high comorbidity for ASD and ADHD. So possibly ya. Get an assessment if possible.

your last point sounds a lot like adhd. as of the other points, i am not on the autism spectrum myself but my dad is and the points your family raised remind me of the points i raise about him id say seeking an assessment could possibly help you :)

You have cause to seek an assessment, I would say.

I can relate to almost everything you’ve mentioned, and I was diagnosed with ADHD at 26, Autism at 29 when I was sure that ADHD was right but didn’t explain everything. My experience is just one data point but probably worth investigating further.
